Lil Yachty Wants To Do A Joint Album With Tyler The Creator, Who Is The Reason He Experimented On ‘Let’s Start Here’

Oscar-winning musician Questlove and music fans in general alike continue to rave about Lil Yachty’s latest album, Let’s Start Here. Despite expressing frustrations over his music leaking and difficulties in planning for the album’s supporting tour, the musician is extremely proud of what he was able to produce.

Yachty revealed that his mission going into making was to separate himself from the tokenizing label of SoundCloud rapper, and thanks to the help of quite a few heavy hitter guest producers, he’s done just that. But there’s another person the songwriter would like to credit with the release: fellow musician Tyler The Creator.

In an interview Billboard, Yachty gushed about how Tyler has influenced him. “[Tyler] is the reason I made this album. He’s the one who told me to do it, just go for it. He’s so confident and I have so much respect for him because he takes me seriously, and he always has,” said Yachty.

Later adding, “I would love to do a project with Tyler.”

A joint project between Lil Yachty and Tyler The Creator would be a mixture of quite a few songs, given that both artists have continued to explore sonically outside of initial rap music entry.

Lil Yachty Detailed The Difficulty In Planning A Tour For ‘Let’s Start Here’

Lil Yachty’s psychedelic new album, Let’s Start Here, is doing better than anyone could have expected. Fans — including Questlovegave it rave reviews as it landed at No. 1 on three separate Billboard charts. However, that doesn’t mean it wasn’t risky, and because it was such a departure from his usual output, it’s made the rollout and tour planning more difficult than it would have been otherwise.

Yachty detailed those difficulties in a new cover story in Billboard, explaining why putting together a tour was more complicated than normal. “This is so new for me, and to be quite honest with you, the label [didn’t] know how [the album] would do,” he said. “Also, I haven’t dropped an album in like three years. So we don’t even know how to plan a tour right now because it has been so long and my music is so different.”

The album also had a rough rollout since it leaked over the holidays. He’d turned it in nearly a year before its release but because Quality Control’s Coach K wanted to ensure the availability of physical media, it was held for the vinyl since pressing plant turnaround time is around seven months. However, the album leaked on Christmas under the name Sonic Ranch, which Yachty called “depressing and frustrating.”

He also said further leaks of the art, release date, and tracklist meant “I wasn’t able to do the actual rollout for my album that I wanted to. Nothing was a secret anymore. It was all out. I had a whole plan that I had to cancel.” Fortunately for him, it seems fans have absolutely accepted the album and now, all that’s left to do is finish planning that tour with his all-female backing band.

Lil Yachty & Mariah The Scientist Beef Over Dating Rumours

Like many others in the music industry, Mariah the Scientist didn’t always plan on becoming a singer. She came onto the scene with a bang in 2019, sharing her MASTER project including popular titles like “Beetlejuice,” “Reminders,” and “Note to Self.” In the years since, she’s given us 2021’s RY RY WORLD featuring Young Thug and Lil Baby, as well as last year’s Buckles Laboratories Presents: The Intermission four-pack EP.

Before she became known as Young Thug’s current love interest, and an R&B starlet in her own right, Mariah was a student at St. John’s University in New York. She was previously accepted at the school on a biology scholarship, hence her stage name, but ultimately dropped out to pursue a career in music. Before she was involved with the YSL head, the “Church” songstress was rumoured to be with Lil Yachty, who some think is the real reason she walked away from her post-secondary education.

As XXL reports, earlier this weekend a tweet that brought attention back to the rumoured pair’s years-old drama appeared online. “How do you go to school to be an anesthesiologist and [end] up flunking out [because] of Lil Yachty?” the account holder asked, earning thousands of likes. In a series of since-deleted posts of his own, the “Broccoli” hitmaker spoke out on the situation. “Lol why do y’all keep trying me over this woman?” he asked. “I been [quiet] for so long but [please] stop making up this weird ass false narrative.”

He went on to call out the Scientist for staying silent as well, writing, “and the fact Mariah just let all these lies go on is weird to me. Y’all really be on d*ck about shit y’all [know] nothing about… Go touch grass.” Of course, the drama didn’t stop there. When another internet troll suggested that Yachty got a friend of the 25-year-old’s pregnant, he shut down that gossip too. “This is also just not true. Lmao, they were never friends… EVER, never met. Rarely had a full conversation. They just followed each other… [YOU] N*GGAS [ARE] WEIRD!!!!!!!!!!!”

Lil Yachty Clears His Name, The Scientist Responds

Further clearing his name in another tweet, the “Poland” artist added, “and me and Mariah wasn’t dating at the time… Again!!!!!! Only time I’ma say this. Leave me out of it,” his rant concluded. When Yachty finished speaking his truth, it was the Scientist’s turn to enter the chat. “I know a n*gga ain’t having [something to] say ’bout [something] I don’t ever speak on,” she wrote on the same app. “Miles [you] got to be dizzy, I will air [you] out on this bitch,” her since-removed response read. Drake Tells Lil Yachty How He “Relates To Girls With Huge Tits”: Watch

Here to help us end February on a high note is Drake and Lil Yachty’s Moody Conversation interview, which made its debut just a few days ago. In the time since, many have had the opportunity to tune into the 35-minute video, and have been sharing their favourite moments on social media. Among them are the rappers discussing things they’ve learned in therapy to the Canadian’s rising age.

Speaking of the latter, Drizzy was quite literally left speechless when the “Poland” hitmaker teased him about “gettin’ up there” following his 36th birthday last October. “Just sayin’,” the younger performer laughed as his long-time pal struggled to find the words to say. When he finally did, the father of one told Yachty that he can’t wait to see him grow “old as f*ck.”

Drake & Lil Yachty’s Moody Conversation

“By the time I’m old as f*ck, you’re gonna be old as f*ck. You’re gonna be using a cane,” the 25-year-old clapped back at Drake. “First of all, I’ll be 10 years older than you. Still dripped out.” According to Yachty, the 6ix God’s love for basketball is what’s sure to result in him relying on a cane. Additionally, he labelled his friend as the kind of guy who says, “30 is the new sexy.”

So far, the Moody Conversation is eliciting countless laughs from viewers. As the clips continue to circulate online, many are showing love to one that chiefly finds Champagne Papi discussing a past therapy session during which he learned all about relating to women who are well endowed in the bust. “Often when I meet people I have to like humanize myself,” he began.

Drizzy Explains His “Huge Tits”

“I was talking to a therapist at one point and he was like… ’You know, no matter what kind of woman you’re chasing physically, you have the biggest tits in the room. Nobody can think about anything else other than just your gigantic tits’ — which is you’re Drake,” he told Yachty. From the sounds of things, the Scorpion rapper’s therapist wanted him to understand that people perceive his celebrity status the same way they see a woman’s large breasts.

He went on to say, “All the preconceived notions, they can’t see past the gigantic tits unless they talk to you and then they’re like, ‘Oh wow, your tits are huge but you’re super smart. You’re really nice and kind.’ So, it’s interesting. That’s why I relate to girls with huge tits,” Drake laughed. The Reason Lil Wayne Called Drake ‘Drizzy Drake Rogers’ 15 Years Ago Will Make Canadians Face-Palm

Drake recently opened up about exactly how one of his first interactions with Lil Wayne went. Specifically, the Canadian rapper noted that Wayne didn’t know what his name was when they meant, during an episode of A Moody Conversation alongside Lil Yachty.

“And I think his name was kinda like ‘Drake Drizzy Rogers’ / Or ‘Drizzy Drake Rogers,’ I’m too busy to play father,” Lil Wayne rapped in their 2008 collaboration, “Ransom.”

Yachty then asked Drake if Wayne still calls him that, fifteen years later. That was when Drake asked if he was aware of the backstory before sharing how exactly that line came to be.

“My email was [email protected]; Rogers was the service provider in Canada and [he] didn’t realize the ‘at’ in the email was like a middle interference,” Drake said. “He just thought my name was Drizzy Drake Rogers. I mean he rapped it once, I just didn’t have the heart to correct him.”

Rogers Communications, of course, is a major Canadian media and communications company that also owns the MLB’s Toronto Blue Jays and the Rogers Centre, where Drake’s beloved Toronto Raptors used to play their home games years ago.

Later in the interview, Drake and Lil Yachty discussed accents — with Canada coming up once again.

“I literally want to meet the first Toronto man of all time,” Drake added. “I don’t know who he is. I don’t know where he got the accent from or any of that but I know that he’s influenced all of us. I’m a full father talking like internet memes because that’s just my upbringing.”

Drake Is So Famous That He Had To Attend A Friend’s Court Hearing Disguised As An Old Man

For as many benefits as there are to being one of the most famous entertainers, there are certainly a fair amount of drawbacks as well. Nobody knows this better than Drake; the tension between enjoying the good things and regretting the bad parts of being successful is one of the core tenets of his music output.

As it turns out, though, this isn’t just limited to his music. During his FUTUREMOOD conversation with Lil Yachty, the Canadian star recounted the extreme measures he sometimes takes to avoid causing a ruckus whenever he goes out. Drake recalled donning makeup and prosthetics provided by a Hollywood expert to make himself look like an old man in order to attend a friend’s court hearing.

However, it was all for naught; he says that despite the realistic makeup, people still recognized him. ““Everyone is like, ‘Is that Drake as an 80-year-old?’” he remembered. ” “Yo, I had one of the best Hollywood makeup artists in the world, and they were still like, ‘That’s definitely Drake in there. It did not work.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Drake addressed his habit of name-checking his exes in his music, saying that he regrets the disruptions it creates in their lives, as well as the potential for making a “graceful exit” from the spotlight — which may be harder for him a lot of his contemporaries, considering this story. Fortunately, he avoided having to make a court appearance in the case against XXXTentacion’s alleged killers.

Lil Yachty Leaves Drake Speechless When Joking About Him Getting Old

No one will humble you like a best friend, and Drake learned that during his recent chat with Lil Yachty. The pair have been friends for quite some time, even collaborating on wax. Unsurprisingly, the two came together for an intimate conversation, giving fans a peek into what it may be like between them behind the scenes. Drake discussed his thoughts on retirement and choosing to (now) refrain from including his ex-girlfriends’ names in his music. There was one portion that had fans laughing, and it was all about Drake’s age.

Drizzy turned 36 years old last October, and it seems to have ushered in a new era. “I just left 35, right? And it’s like—” Drake said before Yachty interrupted with, “Yeah, you’re gettin’ up there.” It was all jokes, but the interjection caught the OVO icon off guard. “Well. Alright, um, but uh…” stumbled Drake as he tried to find the proper response. While he was thinking, Yachty added, “Just sayin’.”

Yachty Predicts Drake’s Limping Future

Then, Drake told 25-year-old Yachty he couldn’t wait until he “gets old as f*ck.” Yachty wasn’t worried. “By the time I’m old as f*ck, you’re gonna be old as f*ck. You’re gonna be in a cane,” said the “Poland” hitmaker. “Using a cane.” At this point, the friends are talking over one another. Drake added, “First of all, I’ll be 10 years older than you. Still dripped out.”

Yachty predicted that because Drake plays so much basketball, he’ll surely be cane bound in the future. Drizzy dismissed it before aiming once again at Yachty’s age. “I get it, I was there,” said Drake about his 20s. Yachty roped him into the category of people who say, “30 is the new sexy.” Drake laughed and denied that was what he trying to say.

Lil Yachty Talks Longstanding Friendship With Drake

Earlier this month, Yachty caught up with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 to discuss his latest project, Let’s Start Here. He also addressed his friendship with Drake. “Shout to Drake, man. I love him to death. Yeah, that’s my guy, man,” he said. “Our relationship has just grown… At this point, I feel so close to him. I feel like whatever he does, I did it. If he wins something, I feel like I just won. He’s really, really smart. no matter how much he’ll act like he’s oblivious to his career and the things that he’s done, he knows what certain things and certain moments in his career mean to people.”

Drake Wore Elderly Prosthetics To Attend Friend’s Court Hearing

When you’re in elite celebrity circles like Drake, you have to resort to extreme measures to move about the world. The OVO mogul is arguably one of the most recognizable entertainers globally, so traveling in and of itself is a feat. However, when attending private events or going places that require anonymity, Drake resorts to extreme measures to stay under the radar. That is, so he says.

Recently, Drizzy sat down with one of his besties, Lil Yachty, for an intimate interview. During the chat, the Her Loss star admitted that he wanted to support a friend who was having legal troubles. Drake decided to attend a court hearing, so he called on Hollywood experts to help him change his looks. It went beyond wardrobe; the Rap icon says he hired someone to put prosthetics on him to make him look like an elderly person.

Even With Prosthetics, People Still Recognize Drake

Drake didn’t share photos of his old man display, but he says people were quick to point him out. “Everyone is like, ‘Is that Drake as an 80-year-old?’” says the rapper as he laughed through his story. “Yo, I had one of the best Hollywood makeup artists in the world, and they were still like, ‘That’s definitely Drake in there. It did not work.”

Unfortunately, for those who are nosy, Drizzy didn’t share the name of his friend. However, fans speculate that he may have been referring to Young Thug. With his name so actively involved in XXXTentacion’s murder case, Drake could be steering clear of courthouses altogether. Meanwhile, there were several takeaways from Drake and Yachty’s conversation. When this interview was first teased, Futuremood uploaded a brief clip of Drake teasing his retirement. Later, his comments received full context, and it seems Drake was more concerned with knowing when it was time to bow out.

Drake Explains His Pending “Graceful Exit”

“I feel like a lot of people that I’ve watched as the years have gone on, it’s a really addictive competitive space,” said Drake. “Oftentimes, you’re addicted to the competition itself. And so, sometimes, it’ll baffle you. Like, why are these people still making attempts at like, trying to be present in the space? And then, you’ll realize that they probably—their needs and desires and their soul was probably fed for so long off of being ‘a guy’ or ‘the guy,’ they can’t let it go.” Check out the chat above.

Drake Sort Of Regrets Using His Ex-Girlfriends’ Real Names In Past Songs

Drake and Lil Yachty sat down for a 35-minute interview that served as the premiere episode of Yachty’s “A Moody Conversation” from his FUTUREMOOD brand. The conversation dropped on Friday, February 24. Within the first 10 minutes, Drake opened up about an eventual “graceful exit” from the rap game and which aspects of his music haven’t necessarily aged gracefully.

“I feel like I’m kind of introducing the concept in my mind of a graceful exit,” Drake told Yachty. “I feel like a lot of people that I’ve watched as the years have gone on, it’s a really addictive, competitive space, and oftentimes, you’re addicted to the competition itself. And so, sometimes it’ll baffle you. Like, why are these people still making attempts at trying to present in the space? And then you’ll realize, like, their needs and desires and their soul was probably fed for so long off of being a guy or the guy that they can’t let it go.”

He continued, “I guess what’s left for me is just to find a way to gracefully — like, I’m not ready now, but to gracefully continue making projects that are extremely interesting and hopefully cherished by people, and then to find the right time to say, ‘I can’t wait to see what the next generation does.’ I’ll still be around to work with people or do a show here or there, but I’m not going to force myself to compete.”

This reminded Yachty of Drake referencing his plan to retire by 35 years old on the 2016 Views track “Weston Road Flows. (Drake turned 36 last October.) The Toronto icon immediately cringed. “Nah, I hate hearing that sh*t. I heard it the other night when we were at the club,” he said before noting he thought 35 was “really old” back then.

Drake then elaborated on his two music-related regrets in hindsight:

“I think that and sometimes when I’ve said girls names in songs, maybe those are the two things that I look back on and I’m like, ‘Ah, maybe I could’ve done without sh*tting on people for age or disrupting somebody’s life.’ The lyrics are never with ill intent, but I had somebody say one time, ‘You know, it’s not necessarily what you’re saying about me; it’s the fact that you said it. Just in the sense of, ‘You don’t know what it does to me. You don’t know who my boyfriend is at the time. You don’t know what my family or doesn’t know, and if you express any form of [ill will] for me in a song and call me by name, then all of a sudden, I’m left to pick up the pieces of my own life that I’ve tried to build up for myself.’”

Drake added that he’s “tried my best” to stop naming his ex-girlfriends in songs, but his affinity for honest music makes it a “push and pull” balancing act. Yachty admitted that he used to think his friend was making girls’ names up, and Drake confirmed he doesn’t think he’s “ever made a girl’s name up, ever in life.”
