J.I.D Explains Why It’s Hard To Perform “The Forever Story”

Great art can take a heavy personal toll, especially when you’re reliving dense experiences night after night to cheers of thousands. J.I.D recently explained during an interview with People why his acclaimed album The Forever Story is hard to perform. While it’s become one of the most acclaimed rap projects of the last decade, it’s incredibly taxing to evoke that deep story on stage. Of course, the Dreamville MC is incredibly grateful for all the praise and excitement surrounding his latest LP. However, he does have his reservations about this phase of his career, and is looking forward to the next step.

“I see people comparing me to people I should never be compared to,” the 32-year-old expressed. “And not in a positive way, like comparing me to DMX or André 3000. That’s why Twitter is the wild, wild west because you could just say anything and it could be a topic of conversation. But yeah, I see a lot of conversations around the project and people saying that it put me in a different position with it. I still got goals to go forward.

It’s Hard To Perform The Greatness On “The Forever Story” For J.I.D

“This project, it’s helping open up the door for the rest of the stuff I’m going to be doing,” he continued. “So I like how intentional it was. And it was so serious, to the point like I have to have fun on the next one. Because I was a little stressed. I was going through emotional s**t, I was digging up old traumas. I was dialing backwards. It’s hard to perform it every night, you know what I’m saying? I’m ready for the next album cycle. The [setlist] stretch from ‘Sistanem’ to ‘Kody Blu 31,’ I’m cooked. And then ‘Workin Out,’ I’m cooked. Yeah, I’m an emotional wreck at that point.

Also, fans may remember the “Raydar” rapper’s recent remarks about free styling, which involved his Funk Flex appearance. After stating that Funk’s lackluster response dissuaded him from free styling again, the radio legend responded. While they haven’t confirmed anything yet, it’s all love between the two and only time will tell if Flex brings him back in a booth. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the latest news, updates, and greatness from J.I.D.

Lil Yachty Wants To Stop Doing Interviews

Lil Yachty has come out on Twitter to say that he no longer wants to do interviews. According to the American rapper, he feels people are misunderstanding what he says whenever he speaks. Lil Yachty recently dropped his fifth album, back in January 2023. Yachty was absent all of 2022 but managed to start off the new year with a bang. With the release of his new album came multiple interviews where he talks about his project. In some of his interviews, he made some controversial comments regarding his own goals.

Most of these comments are about where he wants to go in the future, musically. Lil Yachty also spoke up about how he felt that hasn’t been taken seriously as an artist. His boldest statement, however, has been where he said “f**k any of the albums I dropped before this one,” in reference to his newest album. These comments threw some of his fans off. As more and more fans call him out, Lil Yachty is getting fed up with the misinterpretation of his statements.

Lil Yachty Feels Misunderstood

After the recent backlash from his statements, Lil Yachty took to Twitter to express his feelings. “I think ima all around just stop doing interviews,” he announced online. “The things I say are never understood as intended.” Many fans took Yachty’s interview statements about his albums as a disrespect to the hip-hop genre. However, the rapper was most likely just trying to stress the importance of his latest album. He was comparing his own albums to each other, as opposed to dissing the genre as a whole.

Regardless, many fans are still supportive and understanding. His fans are flooding his comments with encouragement, and telling him to keep going. Social media can be full of individuals who misinterpret things easily. It can be frustrating for a celebrity to not feel heard. However, some fans are pointing out that Yachty may simply just need to articulate his thoughts better. It can be easy to say the wrong thing in the heat of the moment. Other fans are encouraging the rapper to only do interviews with certain outlets. All in all, fans are hoping Lil Yachty can let the criticism roll off his back.

Jim Jones Says Drake Is The GOAT

Jim Jones recently revealed in a new interview with Complex that Drake is his GOAT contender. Moreover, he spoke on how he’s been able to stay incredibly relevant in the game for such a long time. Also, he stressed the importance on numbers, as Drake’s songs seem to always go platinum. Of course, the Dipset legend has plenty of reasons to put the 6 God on this pedestal. Their performance together at the iconic Apollo Theater was a truly special moment for the culture. However, Jones is clearly giving credit where it’s due, because Drake’s been dominant for almost fifteen years.

“I would say he’s the greatest of all time,” the 46-year-old stated. “I would just give that to him. And I mean, there’s a lot of people from the beginning and people that invented hip-hop, I know. But the greatest of all time, it’s a big statement, and the relevancy that he keeps showing year after year, hit after hit, record after record. Any song that he has put out has seemed to go multiple platinum. That’s never happened before in history.

Jim Jones Calls Drake The GOAT

“I mean, there are a few other people that do astronomical numbers like that, but he really in it, you know what I mean?” he continued. “From all angles of music. It ain’t no place you go where they’re not going to play some Drake records to get the party started. He moves around here like the real Bruce Wayne. He’s my spirit animal, man. I just got to give credit where credit is due, and not taking away from nobody else.

“What [Jay-Z] has done to this game is astronomical,” the New York legend conceded. “He’s like Michael Jordan for what he has put on and what he has done since he came in the game and where he’s at right now. But Jay exited music a long time ago. And that space, that void, I don’t know if it’s a void, but Drake has not exited and he’s still going strong to this day and it doesn’t seem like he’s stopping no time soon... But in this day, us highlighting our era really don’t hold no merit in what’s functioning right now… So, we tend to forget a lot of that s**t from back in those days.” Let us know your take in the comments and stick around on HNHH for the latest on Jim Jones and Drake.

Jim Jones Wants A Hitmaka & Hit-Boy Verzuz

Jim Jones and Hitmaka stopped by Ebro In The Morning to discuss their new album Back In My Prime and a potential Verzuz against Hit-Boy. Moreover, those comments came after the latter dissed Hitmaka and other producers in a song tease. Of course, that blew the Internet up, both with impressed reactions to disappointed responses. However, it was Hitmaka who started the whole debacle in this interview by talking about radio play on Hot 97. But more interestingly, Jones knew where they could settle things: a Verzuz battle.

“Do I smell a Verzuz?” the Dipset legend asked. Furthermore, his proposal prompted excited reactions from the rest on his on-air colleagues. “We can settle this fast. Tell Za on the zone we got some za. I would give them L.A.” Despite this debate, Hitmaka did admit that Hit-Boy’s been at the game longer than him. “He’s been running longer than I’ve been running in this field,” the Chicago producer explained. Even with all that, the Hot 97 crew were surprised that Hitmaka took things in that direction.

Jim Jones Wants A Hitmaka & Hit-Boy Verzuz

“I’m on the radio. Hit-Boy not on the radio,” he said before saying that he still has love for the King’s Disease producer. “If you play the soundtrack to your life for the past four, five years on radio – I know it’s gotta be frustrating with ‘em my name is so similar, my brother.” After these comments went viral, Hit-Boy released a snippet where he dissed Hitmaka, Metro Boomin, and others. “I just seen Yung Berg smoke on the wave/ I should do him like Trick Trick and snatch Hit out his name,” he rapped against Hitmaka. “I’m like Debo on this cruiser/ How you got no credits without co-producers?” In fact, the producer clapped back at Hit-Boy’s comments, calling him a “terrible artist.”

Meanwhile, Metro Boomin seemingly responded to these disses in a cryptic way. He tweeted out a picture of Kendrick Lamar lyrics from the Mr. Morale cut “Rich Spirit.” “Stop playin’ wit me ‘fore I turn you to a song,” the lyrics read. Still, Jones isn’t wrong in assuming that a Verzuz could truly squash things between them, at least commercially. After all, Hit-Boy has more impressive albums to his name, despite Hitmaka dominating air waves. Regardless, check out the Hot 97 interview above and stick around on HNHH for the latest on Hitmaka, Jim Jones, and Hit-Boy.

Gigi Hadid Says She’s “Not The Prettiest Person,” Reflects On Being A “Nepo Baby”

For several months now, the term “nepo baby” has been a hot topic of conversation online. As living expenses continue to rise, without any real promise of change, the masses have been feeling as though it’s about time to “eat the rich,” as well as their famous children who inherit millions simply for being born. While some stars try to deny that they came from fame, others, like Gigi Hadid, are learning to accept the label.

For her latest interview, the supermodel spoke with the Times of London about growing up in the shadow of her mother, Yolanda Hadid. The Dutch beauty previously starred on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills from 2012 to 2016 and was frequently seen criticizing Gigi for eating on camera, leading to backlash. Before she achieved fame and fortune, however, the family matriarch and her husband, Mohamed Hadid, came from nothing.

“Technically I’m a nepotism baby,” Gigi shared. “My parents came from very little. I’ve always acknowledged that I come from a privilege. Over the years, her parents taught her plenty of important lessons, including being as nice and hard-working as possible at all times. For the Hadid family, being successful and having money is no reason to slack off or make a bad impression.

Though she’s walked down some of the most important runways of the past decade, the mother of one still has her insecurities. She doesn’t think that she’s “the prettiest person in the world,” though Hadid noted that some Botox might be just the thing to fix that. She’s no stranger to the intense pressure that comes with being a model, having landed her first job when she was only two years old. After plenty of hard work, she posed for Victoria’s Secret and went on to debut at New York Fashion Week in 2014.

Co-Parenting with Zayn Malik

Elsewhere in her interview, Gigi Hadid spoke briefly about her co-parenting experience with Zayn Malik. The two broke up little more than a year after their daughter, Khai’s birth. At the time, allegations against the former One Direction member stated that he shoved Yolanda into a dresser, which he previously pleaded no contest to in court. Read what the 27-year-old had to say about her ex here, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.

Jim Jones Teases Dipset TV Show

Jim Jones teased working on a TV series that will detail the rise of the legendary New York rap group, The Diplomats. Jones hinted at the show during an interview on DJ Self’s Apt. 5H talk show. He says that the group was “young, dumb and stupid” during their come up, but had a “ball” doing it.

“You got a talk show, I’m about to give you the Dipset 5H TV series,” Jim told DJ Self during the interview. “I think I’ma do that ‘cause the shit that went on in 5H before we became the players we were, you n****s need to see. We was reckless. Young, dumb and stupid, but we was having a ball.”

The new interview isn’t the first time that Dipset have referenced a potential TV show regarding their story. During a Q&A session with media personality Wayno in celebration of the 20th anniversary of his album Come Home With Me, Cam’ron confirmed that they’d been approached for a similar idea. “They offered us deals before or offered me deals as well. I rather shoot it with my money, my way,” Cam said at the time. “They’ll come to you like, ‘Yo, we’ll give you a percentage of the Diplomat movie.’ And I’m like, ‘Ok, what’s the percentage?’ And they’re like, ‘We’ll give you 10, 15 percent.’ How you going to give me 10 percent of my story? That shit don’t even be making no sense to me sometimes. I’m like, ‘Aight, I’ll fund it and y’all take the 10 percent and do distribution.’ But they’re not used to n****s talking to them like that.”

The Diplomats originally formed back in the 1990s with Cam’ron, Jim Jones, and Freekey Zekey. They later added Juelz Santana to the team in 1999 and landed a record deal with JAY-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records in 2001. They released a number of the biggest hits from the 2000s including “Dipset Anthem,” “I Really Mean It,” and many more.

City Girls’ Awkward Rolling Loud Interviewer Responds To Backlash: “I STILL GOT PAID”

Rolling Loud California is over for another season, but the internet isn’t quite done talking about the hip-hop festival yet. Praise is continuing to pour in for 23-year-old Ice Spice, who brought in one of the biggest audiences of the weekend for her set, and plenty of other female artists showed their stuff too. Among them were Nicki Minaj, who made a surprise visit during Lil Wayne’s stage time, and the City Girls, who debuted a new song while they were performing.

“Piñata” is the title of the unreleased single. We have no official premiere date as of now. Still, Yung Miami previously said that new music from her and JT is coming sometime this spring and/or summer. As they put on a show, rapping old favourites from their discography, as well as more recent arrivals, the City Girls reminded audiences exactly why they love them. From their curve-hugging, coordinated outfits to the sheer excitement of securing the bag at Rolling Loud beside their best friend, the partners in rhyme looked as though nothing could ruin their mood last weekend.

City Girls Take Rolling Loud California 2023

Unfortunately, that energy didn’t last long. At one point during the festival, Caresha and Jatavia spoke with media personality Tamera Kissen, and needless to say, the interview was nothing short of unprofessional. In a clip that’s been circulating online, the host and Yung Miami go back and forth about previously linking up at an event while JT awkwardly watches on. By the time the City Girls start answering questions, things only become more embarrassing to take in.

“Did you know it’s the 50th day of hip-hop today?” Kissed asked. “No,” the REVOLT podcast host responded. “Me neither, they told me to talk about it,” the host said, obnoxiously laughing. Shortly after, she began pressing the City Girls for details on when they “last let a broke dude hit,” among other uncomfortable topics. As the video continues to circulate online, plenty of backlash is pouring in for the interviewer. At the same time, the “Twerkulator” artists are hearing praise for pushing through the weird moment.

Tamera Kissen Responds to Backlash

On her Twitter page, Kissen has had plenty to say about her chat with the City Girls. “The community really don’t f*ck with you if you ain’t full Black, let’s just be honest,” she vented online. In response, another user wrote, “No baby, it was just a really bad interview. Like… horrific. Nothing to do with race, learn and grow.” Not letting the haters get her down, the 28-year-old continued to rant about the situation in another series of tweets.

“Some FYI: When footage is raw and unedited like that and people throw things at you last min as an interviewer it’s because someone on the job doesn’t want you to do good. Nothing I haven’t dealt [with] before,” she began. “Shit really ain’t that serious. The girls that don’t like me all look the saaaaaaaaaame.” Kissen went on to compare the industry to being back in high school before reminding followers that “at the end of the day, [SHE] STILL GOT PAID.” Let us know what you thought of the City Girls’ awkward Rolling Loud interview below, and check back later for more pop culture news.

Gigi Hadid Speaks On Co-Parenting With Ex-BF Zayn Malik

It’s been roughly a year and a half since Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid opted to end their relationship. Of course, the former lovers will remain in each other’s lives for the foreseeable future due to the 3-year-old daughter they share. For the most part, the model and singer have kept quiet about the drama leading to their breakup, though she recently had a positive update to give regarding the new relationship that they’ve foraged as co-parents.

The pair first crossed paths in late 2015, following Hadid’s split from Joe Jonas. By early 2016, they caused a serious stir by making out in Malik’s “Pillowtalk” music video. Shortly after it was confirmed that they were a pair, and their red carpet debut took place at that year’s Met Gala. Unfortunately, they called things quits in June, after just seven months together – but only for five days.

As Us notes, the couple went on to grace the cover of Vogue in August 2017, and in January 2018, Malik added more ink to his body in honour of his partner. Two months later, their second breakup took place, and as you can imagine, they fell into a similar pattern over the following years. Their daughter was born in September 2020, and in October 2021, their breakup made headlines – along with rumours that the One Direction alum allegedly pushed Yolanda Hadid into a dresser.

Malik previously denied striking his child’s grandmother, though he pleaded no contest to harassment charges in court. As a result, he was sentenced to 360 days of probation, as well as mandatory anger management and domestic violence programs. Hadid never publicly addressed the concerning situation, though her latest comments about co-parenting with her ex make it seem as though they’re trying to put their issues behind them.

Co-Parenting Baby Khai

While speaking with the Times of London, the 27-year-old revealed that she makes her work schedule based on when Khai will be “with her dad.” Hadid explained to the outlet, “[the fact] that she can be with both parents makes me very happy.” Aside from that, little is known about the nature of Gigi and Zayn’s current relationship, but we certainly wish them the best. Whoopi Goldberg Says She Wasn’t In Love With Any Of Her Husbands

Whoopi Goldberg just revealed that she didn’t love any of the men she married in a conversation with Piers Morgan. While the TV host expressed a bit of shock at the notion, the EGOT said that she thought that marriage was normal, and that’s why she did it. Moreover, she stated that she likes to be alone and realized along the way that a union like that just wasn’t for her. However, she did say she’s been in love once, but she wouldn’t budge on Morgan’s questioning about who the mystery man was. All in all, her comments make the revelation that she helped Meagan Good with her divorce more understandable.

“No, I don’t think so. But it’s the truth. I think there’s a Vegas [wedding], and maybe one was a church, and one was a house wedding. I wanted to feel normal, and it seemed to me that if I was married, I’d have a much more normal life. But clearly, that’s not the case, that’s not a good reason to get married. You have to actually want a life with someone through ups and downs. I just discovered that wasn’t for me.”

Whoopi Goldberg Speaks On Never Falling In Love With The Men She Married

Later, Morgan asked her whether she’s ever fallen in love. She affirmed that she was in love one time, and the host followed up a question on whether they’re a famous person. “No, and that’s the beauty. I snuck a couple in on y’all and nobody knew. What I know now is that I don’t want to live with anyone. I think I tried it with probably the right guys for other people. But it wasn’t them, it was me. I actually like living on my own, I like being able to go up and down my stairs farting like a queen and not having to explain. I like my privacy.”

Meanwhile, the TV icon apologized again for disparaging remarks she made about the Holocaust, which she said wasn’t about race. “I’m still learning a lot and believe me, I heard everything everyone said to me,” she expressed. “I believe that the Holocaust was about race, and I am still as sorry now as I was then that I upset, hurt and angered people. My sincere apologies again, especially to everyone who thought this was a fresh rehash of the subject. I promise it was not. In this time of rising antisemitism, I want to be very clear when I say that I always stood with the Jewish people and always will. My support for them has not wavered and never will.” Regardless, stick around on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Whoopi Goldberg.

Boosie Unleashes On Gunna For “Ratting With Respect”

Boosie Badazz just dragged Gunna through the mud in his latest interview with VladTV. Moreover, he called the rapper out for his plea deal in the YSL case and treating prosecutors with a lot of respect as he gave information. Court footage from the Atlanta rapper’s deal released after he walked out of Fulton County Jail, and showed him answering politely and affirmatively as an attorney read through the plea statement. With all that in mind, the Louisiana rapper did not hold back when discussing Gunna’s deal and his attitude throughout it, despite him denying any snitching at all.

“They should remix his s**t, ‘Yes ma’am,’” Boosie began. “I been waiting on a song. Man these n***as answering with respect! They rattin’ with respect! We don’t even tell our elders ‘Yes ma’am’ like that no more. You don’t hear people saying ‘Yes ma’am’ like they usually do. But you tell a f***in’ prosecutor, ‘Yes ma’am.’ That made it even worse. You put mayonnaise on the f***in’ sandwich.” Earlier in the clip, Vlad asks Boosie whether he thinks Gunna can make a comeback in the rap game, to which he had an interesting answer.

Boosie Badazz Goes Off On Gunna Ratting With Respect

“I don’t think he can get back to where he was,” he remarked. “‘Cause if you love Thugger, you can’t love Gunna. You live in a f***in’ fantasy world. If you got love for Thugger and you love Gunna, you a f**k n***a or f**k b***h.” Of course, Badazz’s comments on the former YSL affiliate aren’t surprising, considering he was among the first in the game to express scorn for his actions. This was back when he pled guilty to one count of racketeering conspiracy in December of 2022.

“Rat THIS WOULD HAVE PUT TEARS N MY EYES MY BROTHER,” Boosie captioned a post of the court footage. “MY ARTIST LIKE WTF IM FIGHTING FOR MY LIFE. THAT IM NOT RUNNING A GANG/CRIMINALENTERPRIZE N YOU DO THIS TO BIGDOG UKNOW ITS A GANG .. THE GUNS N DRUGS NOT YOURS.. WELL WHO ELSE WAS NTHE CAR THEY CAN BE FOR SMH.” Regardless of your take, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest on Gunna and Boosie Badazz.
