Trippie Redd Thinks This Drake Diss Track Is The Greatest Of All Time

Trippie Redd and Machine Gun Kelly, the brains behind the recently released genre : sadboy project, were Complex‘s most recent guests for their GOAT Talk series, in which artists debate the best (and worst) contenders in particular categories. The topic of diss tracks came up, for which MGK suggested a pretty understandably biased answer: his “Rap Devil” diss track towards Eminem from back in 2018. On the other hand, Trippie invoked former collaborator Drake and his Meek Mill diss, 2015’s “Back To Back,” as his answer. As far as other revelations, the “Taking A Walk” creative named Young Thug as the greatest MC of all time, whereas Kelly gave Lil Wayne the title.

Furthermore, both sadboys have been involved in some publicly notable beef in the past, albeit for very different reasons and with very different results. Machine Gun Kelly battled Eminem in 2018, a feud which ended with Slim Shady’s “Killshot” diss track and no response from its target, who chose to publicly downplay it rather than clap back. Whether or not you agree with his assessment, at least he put an end to it instead of ignoring it until the hype died down. In Trippie Redd’s case, he and former collaborator 6ix9ine went at it online, but one of Tekashi’s former associates, Anthony “Harv” Ellison, claimed that it was all fake for staged publicity.

Trippie Redd & Machine Gun Kelly On GOAT Talk: Watch

The “GOAT Diss Song” conversation begins at around the 7:15-minute mark.

Another debatably staged development has been taking over a lot of discourse around genre : sadboy, in fact. Trippie Redd and Machine Gun Kelly recently clowned a producer who they fired from their collab project, who claimed that part of their rollout was to start beef with producers from their tape. Overall, it’s a very confusing and odd marketing decision either way, whether to lean into it or to seemingly validate the claims. Maybe this is just the evolution of rap beef these days: fighting over made-up fights and why the made-up fights are worse than the real fights over the blah, blah, blah… and so on.

Meanwhile, this all unfortunately falls under some mournful context given the passing of Trippie’s frequent collaborator Chris King. It’s a difficult time for his loved ones, and one that these debacles over genre : sadboy must not make any easier for the Ohio native in particular. We wish King’s loved ones and him the best in this trying time, and that they find light in their corners. For more news and the latest updates on Trippie Redd and Drake, log back into HNHH.

Benzino Calls Out Dr. Dre For Crowning Eminem The Best Ever: “This Is An Insult”

Benzino has fired back at Dr. Dre’s recent proclamation of Eminem as the “Best MC ever,” labeling the praise an “insult” to other hip-hop legends. Dre had shared the take while speaking with James Corden on his This Life Of Mine podcast. He remarked: “I think he’s [Eminem] the best MC ever. Point blank, period. Of course, there are gonna be arguments with that because he’s a white guy…I don’t think anyone that’s rapping can touch Eminem on that microphone.”

After seeing the quote, Benzino, Eminem’s longtime rival, fired back on social media: “You know I think Dr Dre is one of the greatest producers of all time, and notice I didn’t say Hip Hop producers, but this is an insult to [Ice] Cube, [MC] REN, Snoop [Dogg], [The] Doc and every other rapper who wrote all those hits. I mean this is his opinion and I respect it but cmon Dre. [palm on face emoji].”

It’s far from the first time Benzino has complained about public praise for Eminem. While the two have been feuding for years, he recently broke down into tears while discussing his beef with the legendary Detroit rapper during an episode of Drink Champs. “My daughter came into the industry figuring ‘I gotta be cool with Eminem because everybody is against my dad’ … I don’t hate Eminem, I don’t know him to hate him,” he said at the time. “I don’t hate white people. I’m tired of this s**t, man. It’s just too much. I don’t want to be the bad guy.” Check out his latest comments below.

Kanye West Declares Himself The GOAT In Unique Fashion

Kanye West has been having a successful run as of late. After months of teasing his project Vultures, he finally came out with the album. Overall, the project is a bit of a mixed bag. Not everyone is a fan, however, there are still those out there who dig it quite a bit. After all, Ye is one of the most legendary hip-hop artists ever. Even when he creates some bad will for himself, there will still be people out there to defend him. One would just have to look at the Anthony Fantano situation to see what we mean.

Additionally, Ye is looking to make waves in the fashion world as he renews his efforts with Yeezy. On top of all of this, he is dropping Vultures 2 next month and Vultures 3 will be coming out in April. Needless to say, the Ye stocks are rising, and he wants to take full advantage of this. In fact, Kanye is leaning into his legendary status with a new update to his Tidal profile page. As you can see below, the artist has changed his photo to a GOAT. Kanye West Changes Tidal Profile Picture

If you were to ask a lot of contemporary music fans, they would likely have Ye up there in the GOAT conversation. As far as MCs are concerned, he probably doesn’t crack the top 10. However, as an overall artist, he is certainly top 5. Considering his most recent output, there is no denying that the quality has fallen off compared to his early work. That said, his fanbase is so big that no matter what he drops, there will be people out there who love it. This is a phenomenon that is very unlikely to change.

Let us know what you thought of Vultures, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming releases. There is a lot of great stuff to come in 2024.

Rick Ross Thinks Most Rappers Have The Same Top 3 MCs List For This Reason

Rick Ross recently hit up Adin Ross for a livestream together, and they got up to a whole lot of antics. In addition to a broken chair, the duo chopped it up about an array of topics, whether that was everyday pop culture happenings or Rozay’s career in the rap game. On that last point, an inevitable and forever unanswered question in hip-hop came up: who are the best rappers of all time? For this, the Maybach Music Group mogul put Biggie Smalls, Tupac Shakur, and Jay-Z as his top three. Not only that, but he also explained why a lot of MCs share this exact ranking and why there’s so much overlap among his peers.

“When you hear OGs like myself and other n***as say those names so commonly, it’s because they had the biggest effect,” Rick Ross posited. “These the n***as that we watched get rich. Jay, Puff… that was really that first generation that we watched get rich. Because we’d seen artists that were hugely successful, but were they extremely wealthy? We not sure.” Given that he purchased a billboard in Dubai for his girlfriend recently, we know just how much he manifested inspiration from these figures into his own empire.

Still, the Mississippi native didn’t provide any disrespect or lack of appreciation for that older guard of hip-hop pioneers. For example, he named Run-DMC as one of the most “extremely successful” artists of the Golden Age who didn’t garner the wild commercial success and extracurricular business practices that later lyricists lounged in. “It wasn’t just music,” Rick Ross said of why Big, ‘Pac, and Hov are often considered the greatest among rappers. “They was doing a lot of different s**t.

Meanwhile, we know one name that for sure won’t appear near any of his lists of praise when it comes to MCs. The 50 Cent beef is as alive as ever, and that’s a narrative that likely won’t slow down anytime soon. Still, if you ask Fif who the top three best rappers are, maybe this disproves the 47-year-old’s theory. But we need a larger sample size for that debacle. On that note, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Rick Ross.

Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz Make A Pick For The GOAT Producer

It’s no secret that Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz established themselves as Southern icons through their artistry but that probably wouldn’t have been able to be accomplished without the help of some incredible producers. And with careers as legendary as Wayne and Chainz, there’s no doubt that they’ve worked with some of the greatest producers of all time. Both have built incredible catalogs alongside some of the best behind the boards but who would they put in the GOAT position?

During Complex’s GOAT Talk with the ColleGrove collaborators, the two dished out on who they believe the GOAT producer of all time is. 2 Chainz said that it was none other than Kanye West who holds that spot for him. But, for Wayne, he listed the Cash Money OG Mannie Fresh, who undoubtedly produced some of his most impactful records, along with Yeezy. Considering Ye revealed that Wayne will be on Vultures, it seems like we might get more heat from the “Barry Bonds” collaborators soon.

Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz On The GOATs: Rappers, Mixtapes & More

While their choice of producers might not be surprising, some of their other picks certainly caught fans off-guard. For example, their choice for the GOAT mixtape. 2 Chainz took it back to the 2000s, praising Lil Wayne’s Dedication and Jeezy’s Trap Or Die. Surprisingly, Lil Wayne didn’t choose any of the iconic mixtapes from his catalog. Instead, he bestowed the honor on Future’s 56 Nights. Elsewhere, Lil Wayne called Jay-Z and Missy Elliott the GOAT MCs of all time while 2 Chainz gave that title to his close friend and collaborator.

Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz recently came through with their latest joint project, Welcome 2 ColleGrove, a follow-up to their 2016 album. The album boasts appearances from Benny The Butcher, Vory, 21 Savage, and Fabolous, along with 50 Cent serving as the narrator. Lil Wayne Names This Future Mixtape As The Greatest Of All Time

Lil Wayne is someone who has certainly given his share of props to his peers. Overall, Wayne is an elder statesman in hip-hop. He has been rapping since he was a teenager and remains one of the genre’s GOAT artists. Although his output has slowed down over the years, there is no doubt that he made a lot of music in his youth. He put out a slew of mixtapes and is considered to be the greatest mixtape artist ever. Needless to say, he has the credentials necessary to speak on other mixtapes from his contemporaries.

Recently, Wayne and 2 Chainz were on Complex where they did the “GOAT Talk” series. In this show, artists speak on what they believe to be the GOAT in a wide range of domains. In the episode below, Wayne and 2 Chainz are asked about their favorite mixtapes of all time. Lil Wayne Vouches For Future

For those of you who may not know, 56 Nights is a mixtape that was made after DJ Esco was freed from a prison in the Middle East. After being imprisoned for weed, no one knew if Esco would ever come home. Not to mention, he lost a ton of music that was made with Future. It was an emotional time for Esco and Future, but they came out on the other side better than ever. In many ways, this is the mixtape that changed some of the general perceptions around Future. Overall, there are some amazing tracks here, including the title song, and “March Madness.”

Lil Wayne Crowns Nicki Minaj The G.O.A.T. Of Young Money

In a recent interview with Complex, hip-hop icon Lil Wayne left the rap community buzzing as he gave the title of the greatest rapper ever signed to Young Money upon none other than the incomparable Nicki Minaj. Weezy, whose influence on the genre is legendary, didn’t mince his words when asked about his “Goat Young Money artist,” sparking a debate among fans and commentators alike: Nicki or Drake? With an undoubtful expression, Lil Wayne didn’t hesitate in his answer. The Young Money label, founded by Lil Wayne himself, has been home to some of the biggest names in the game, making the title of the greatest a highly coveted accolade. The proclamation didn’t just leave fans intrigued; it also reignited the ongoing discourse about the hierarchy within Young Money’s elite roster.

Nicki Minaj, whose multifaceted talent has left an unforgettable mark on the rap scene, has been a powerhouse in the industry since her breakthrough mixtapes. In fact, her most recent album Pink Friday 2 is already breaking barriers and achieving accomplishments. Her project is the highest-selling female rap album of 2023 so far. Lil Wayne’s endorsement adds another layer of validation to her status as an influential force in hip-hop. Moreover, from her magnetic stage presence to her razor-sharp lyricism, Minaj has consistently pushed boundaries, breaking gender norms and dominating a male-dominated industry. As the news circulated, fans took to social media to express their opinions on the matter. The label has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of contemporary hip-hop, giving rise to artists who have left an impact on the culture. “In reality…..Drake did way more numbers then her… they always had slight competition so weezy was throwin shade at drake,” another said. No Malice Hopes Clipse Can Collaborate With Coldplay And The Killers

Clipse is officially back in action and the duo of Pusha T and his brother No Malice are ready to talk about the future of their legendary rap group. In a new interview with GOAT Mag the two talk about where Clipse may go next and they don’t exactly agree. Malice was asked about collaborations and quickly delivered the kind of answer you’d expect. “As far as Hip Hop goes, the highwater mark is always collaborating with JAY-Z, so I would like that,” he said. But he followed up on that thought with a surprising addition.

No Malice put his major ambitions on display answering what non-rap artists he might want to work with. “Outside of Hip Hop, I would like to see Clipse with artists like Coldplay and The Killers, with big arena records, festivals, something that moves globally,” he said. Pusha T had a different response, seeming to be over collaborations entirely. “Man. I don’t know. I’m collab’d out. I don’t even care about collaborations if it’s not among a great body of work. I’m into cohesive, great bodies of work. I feel like, in these times, with everybody feeling so fly-by-night, that’s the only thing that’s keeping this genre alive,” Pusha T remarked.
