D’Angelo Russell Reveals The Extent Of His Ankle Injury

D’Angelo Russell is a player who has had a very interesting career in the NBA. Overall, he started his career with the Los Angeles Lakers. However, he eventually found himself at the center of a controversy involving Nick Young. This led to him going to the Brooklyn Nets. From there, he was traded to the Golden State Warriors, who subsequently sent him to the Minnesota Timberwolves. While in Minnesota, he was a solid guard, however, he was not being utilized to his fullest potential.

At the trade deadline, Russell was sent back to the Los Angeles Lakers as part of the Russell Westbrook trade. This turned out to be a great move for the Lakers who also got Jarred Vanderbilt and Malik Beasley. Since the trade, the Lakers have actually looked very good. They have won two blowout games in a row and are playing their best basketball of the season. Although they have a long way to go, it is clear that they actually have a path to the postseason now.

D’Angelo Russell Goes Down

Unfortunately, during their win against the Golden State Warriors last night, Russell went down with some sort of ankle injury. In the video clip above, you can see Russell land awkwardly after rolling his ankle. This ended up happening early in the game, and the guard was in some pain. Consequently, the Lakers’ trainers took him out and had him sit for the rest of the match. Following the game, Russell spoke to Lakers reporter Mark Medina about the injury. He said that while it did feel sore, he thinks he will be good to go for the next game.

This is definitely good news for the Lakers as they need all hands on deck for the next stretch of the season. They are one game back from a play-in spot, and with 22 games left, they need as many wins as possible. Overall, there is this sense that they could steal the sixth seed with a strong finish to the season, and if they manage that, they could be dangerous in the playoffs.

JID Is $2,000 Answer On “Jeopardy!”

JID recently entered another echelon of rap royalty, as he was an answer for a $2,000 question on Jeopardy! Moreover, the question was in the “Fight Songs” category and was the highest-scoring question in that field. Furthermore, the question posited a prompt and asked players to try to guess which rapper’s song they referenced. While many fans of the Atlanta MC might expect an established classic like “NEVER” or “Off Deez,” the prompt actually mentioned one of his biggest pop crossover collaborations. “‘Who the baddest?’” the prompt read. “‘It don’t matter ’cause we at your throat,’ this 3-letter guy raps on ‘Enemy,’ his collaboration with Imagine Dragons.”

After the show runners revealed the question, one player in particular was lightning-quick to give the correct answer. Justin exclaimed “Who’s JID?” as he laughed and gave a big smile to the host. “That’s right, you’re excited,” she replied. Given that the 32-year-old had arguably the best album of last year, it’s no wonder his fans feel so passionately about him. This joins the ranks of other famous rappers and rap songs who’ve appeared on the enduringly popular game show. However, JID’s inclusion is likely one of the most recent hip-hop references in the show’s history.

JID Joins The Jeopardy! Ranks

Furthermore, the “Workin Out” MC is also getting other extracurricular achievements under his belt. For example, he recently released the first single to Dreamville’s upcoming Creed III soundtrack. The track “Ma Boy” also features label mate Lute over an energetic and chilling beat. Both lyricists also display their talents with the pen as two of the collective’s most accomplished writers, which is saying a lot. While the soundtrack drops next week on the film’s theatrical release date of March 3rd, Bas just dropped another single for the project with Black Sheriff and Kel-P.

Meanwhile, many fans are hoping that JID gets back to one of his other trademark talents: freestyling. Recently, he revealed that Funk Flex’s meager response to his off-the-dome display dissuaded him from engaging in them again. However, after the legendary DJ called him one of his favorite rappers right now, it seems the two might run it back soon. Still, stick around on HNHH to hear the latest news, updates, and accomplishments from the one and only JID.

Tory Lanez Sentencing Delayed, May Not Happen Until April: Report

Since he was convicted of three counts related to Megan Thee Stallion’s 2020 shooting, we haven’t heard much from Tory Lanez’s camp. Lanez took to the internet, interviews, and his music for years to mock Megan and deny he was responsible for her injuries. His dedicated fanbase stood by him, and outlets even advocated on his behalf. However, a jury later found him guilty, and he was set to be sentenced in just a few days.

Reporter Meghan Cunniff kept the world updated on what happened in the courtroom during Lanez’s trial. Today. (February 24), she offered more news on the rapper’s sentencing, suggesting it has been delayed. “Tory Lanez is scheduled to be sentenced next Tuesday for shooting Megan Thee Stallion,” tweeted Cunniff. “The notice from LA Courts just now calls it only a ‘hearing.’ DA Alex Bott tells me, ‘No firm date yet but likely a date in late March to mid April.’”

It Could Be Months Before Tory Lanez Learns His Fate

“This is not unexpected,” Cunniff continued. “Bott and his co-counsel Kathy Ta said in court last month that they would be willing to continue the sentencing again, depending on the availability of the trial transcripts that Lanez’s attorneys need for their motion for new trial.” Additionally, “The motion has not been filed. Motions like that are a lot of work. Harvey Weinstein’s lawyers got his sentencing delayed once so they could have time to put together their new trial motion, and they were Weinstein’s original trial counsel. Lanez has new lawyers post-trial.”

“There will still be a hearing Tuesday, in which we should learn the new sentencing date. Unless other issues come up, it could be a very brief hearing. Lanez should be there; Weinstein was in court on the day his sentencing was delayed. Judge has to ask him if he agrees to delay.”

Lanez Switched Up His Legal Team

Twitter

Immediately following his conviction, Lanez reportedly hired several new lawyers. Some stated it was because he was upset about his trial lawyer’s methods. However, it was later noted that the trial lawyer doesn’t handle appeals, so Lanez would need new representation for the next phase of his case.

Young Nudy Teases Upcoming Album With Cover And Track List

Atlanta rapper Young Nudy took to Instagram yesterday (February 23rd) to announce the release date of his upcoming album, Gumbo. The 13-track album will be dropping on February 28th and features his cousin, 21 Savage, as well as Key Glock. The 30-year-old artist also revealed the cover art and tracklist for Gumbo in his post, captioned, “[G]UMBO February #28 #NUN #TO #DO.”

As insinuated by the shrimp and mushroom emoji in the post’s caption, Gumbo‘s tracklist is fully inspired by different foods. With songs named “Duck Meat,” “McChicken,” and “Portabella,” Nudy has channeled his appetite for success into his newest project. After releasing “Loaded Baked Potato” and “Barbecue” in his album Nudy Land, the rapper has earned a reputation for naming his tracks after snacks. However, Gumbo is his first project fully dedicated to food names. The post also revealed the album’s cover art, which stylistically features a red dinner table outfitted with plates of the song titles, a gun, and a stack of bills. In the center of the table setting is a statue of a snake, hungrily gazing over a bowl of gumbo.

Young Nudy’s Food-Inspired Album Drops February 28th

Nudy released his vibey mixtape EA Monster last year, which also featured a few tracks boasting a food-inspired name. “KitKat” and “Lunch Meat” fall alongside tracks like “Impala” and “Nun To Do.” The resulting project is the 11-song collection that earned Nudy a loyal following. Right now, Nudy is set to embark on an 8-week tour presented by Rolling Loud, which will include a set at the California festival.

After the announcement of Gumbo, fans excitedly took to Twitter to share their enthusiasm. Many were quick to note the humorous song titles, with one user writing, “every song is titled after food, we’re getting a classic.” Others simply displayed their excitement for the artist’s commitment to new music, with appreciation over the album cover. “Still never missed on an album cover,” one user mentioned, while another added, “nudy always has a dope cover.” Be sure to check out more Twitter reactions at the end of this article. As the release date for Gumbo approaches, keep up with HNHH for the latest drops in hip-hop.

Ice-T Says Jay-Z Approached Him About Rumored “99 Problems” Beef At The Grammys

Jay-Z’s “99 Problems” remains one of the most iconic anthems in hip-hop music of the last 20 years. There’s not a time when that song kicks off at any event and people aren’t singing along word-for-word. However, the catchiest part of the song isn’t something that Jay came up with himself. He actually paid homage to Ice-T and 2 Live Crew’s Brother Marquis who delivered a song of the same name 1992 album, Home Invasion.

Over the years, there’s been a debate surrounding the use of the line. While Jay faced accusations in the past of ripping lines off of Biggie, many felt as though he did the same to Ice-T, especially since not everyone knew where the line came from. “Why Jay Z never said, ‘This is Ice-T’s song,’ and showed me some love, I don’t know,” Ice T said in a 2014 interview. “I’m friends with Jay. I met him with Big Daddy Kane. I would have handled the situation differently. If I use your music, I want to let people know.”

Jay-Z Patches Things Up With Ice-T

That particular interview resurfaced in November and it appears that it caught the attention of Hov. During a recent interview on Big Boy’s Neighborhood, Ice explained that Jay-Z approached him at the Grammys to clarify that he never meant any disrespect towards him. “I’m at the Grammys and JAY-Z comes to me. He says, ‘Ice, you know I love you, right?’” Ice-T recalled Jay telling him at the award show. “I say, ‘Yeah!’

Apparently, Jay wanted to clear up the rumors on the Internet surrounding Ice-T’s issue surrounding the song. “He says, ‘Well, it’s on the internet that you mad.’ I said, ‘I’m not mad! They’re bringing up all kinds of interviews about it and they asked me the story, and I told them the true story,’” Ice-T continued. “He goes, ‘Yeah man, but it’s no hard feelings,’” he continued, explaining that the two dived into their storied history, dating back to Jay’s relationship with Big Daddy Kane.

Though it was all love, he said that he told Jay-Z that he wished he had given him a shout-out. “But I said, ‘Yo, well, you know, when you did ’99 Problems,’ at the end of the record you could’ve said, ‘Ice!’ You could’ve given me a little dap or something!’ I said, ‘But I’m not mad at it. What had happened was people wanted to know the story,’” Ice-T said. Check the interview above.

Stephen A. Smith Goes Scorched Earth On Russell Wilson

Stephen A. Smith is notorious for speaking his mind on all things related to the wide world of sports. However, it should be noted that Smith is fair in his assessments. He never goes after people who simply do not deserve it. Overall, he just wants to hold these athletes accountable, which is certainly a noble cause. Although he is mostly a basketball guy, there is no doubt that Smith knows quite a bit about football. Whenever he talks about the sport, he brings that same passion and fire he does to the game of basketball.

Over these last few months, Stephen A. has had to talk a lot about Russell Wilson. Ever since being traded to the Denver Broncos, Wilson has been awful. The team didn’t even come close to the postseason this year, and Wilson was dreadful to watch. Furthermore, his play was so bad that he ended up getting his head coach fired. Now, there are reports that he was trying to get Pete Carroll fired in Seattle. While Wilson denies this, Smith is still taking issue with Russ, who has been a bit of a diva these last couple of years.

Stephen A. Popped Off On “First Take”

In the video clip above from this morning’s First Take, it is clear just how strongly Smith feels about all of this. In fact, one could even Stephen A. as going scorched earth on the quarterback. Overall, his comments were quite piercing, and there is no doubt that many others feel the exact same way about Wilson. “Russell Wilson this past season stunk so much they smelt him from the Mile High City to South Beach to damn L.A. That’s how bad he was,” Smith said. This is a very strongly-worded take, although he’s not wrong. Russ was horrible last year, and he must be better.

For the Broncos, this year will be make-or-break for them in the Russell Wilson era. Sean Payton is coming in as the head coach, and if he has another losing season, it will be an embarrassment. Hopefully, for Broncos fans, the old Russ returns. If he doesn’t, then that fanbase will never forgive the front office for making that trade.

DJ Khaled Trends On Twitter After Viral Tweet Calling Him Fat

Twitter’s never the place for consistently positive discourse, but negativity can become comical when it seems so confusing. That’s what’s happening right now on Twitter, as DJ Khaled is trending for a viral tweet calling him fat. Of course, it can be hard to trace original posts on the Internet, but people seem to be focusing on one tweet in particular. “Drake is retiring, Migos broken, DJ Khaled is fat, Rap game is in shambles rn,” the tweet read. Also, its author included a screenshot of Cillian Murphy holding a gun to his head in the show Peaky Blinders, which is a popular reaction meme right now.

Furthermore, a lot of people are amused at Khaled’s inclusion because, frankly, it’s not necessarily news at this point. While a lot of people took the opportunity to shame DJ Khaled, others recognized how ridiculous the comment is. “Why u gotta pack on dj Khaled like that,” one tweeter expressed. Another wrote, “Dj Khaled part outta pocket.” Still, for all the jokes and confused comments that Twitter could make, the industry titan will likely remain unfazed.

Not only that, but shoutout to Sir Lucian Grainge for, you know, also giving me a major role in the Universal Music Group as a Global Creative- what do you call it? Consultant, yeah, you know what I’m saying? A Global Creative Consultant. I love that I’m going to be able to do that besides putting out my albums.”

“We’re going to be signing artists and we’re actually looking for some new A&Rs to add to the team,” he continued. “We’re going to be doing a lot of big things at We The Best and Def Jam. What I like also about this whole creative consultant thing is that I’m going to be able to touch the whole Universal Music Group. Not just in music, but in marketing, film, TV, just anything dealing with creating.” Check out reactions to his trending status down below and come back to HNHH for the latest on DJ Khaled.

Jim Jones and Hitmaka Build Anticipation for ‘Back in My Prime’ EP With Their Video “Seen the Money”

Screen Shot 2023 02 24 at 12.15.16 PM

As seen on WSHH, Jim Jones and producer Hitmaka dropped a lavish visual for “Seen The Money.” Capo raps about his luxurious lifestyle over Hitmaka’s production led by the Alicia Keys “You Don’t Know My Name” sample. Jim can be seen popping bottles on a yacht in Miami Beach and stacking his bread like a Jenga tower.

Jones reflects on his current lifestyle and how his past lifestyle helped elevate his superstar lifestyle with the cadence: “We jumping out of Ferraris and private jets without a suitcase, ‘cause we shop when we land, we got no top on the lamb, hood n***a, all white airs with no socks in the sand. I used to play with the keys, but the locks didn’t jam. We was in, mama’s kitchen playing with the pots and the pans…”

Jim Jones and Hitmanka have another video/single, “I Am,” featuring Stefflon Don releasing Friday, and their Back In My Prime is scheduled to release in March.
