Compared to his actual criminal accusations and wrongdoing, a lot of people seemed to treat this supposed revelation as even more serious than these actually abhorrent allegations. If you want proof of this, look no further than DJ Akademiks’ recent interview with Quilly, in which the latter says: “I put him in position, no Diddy.” Moreover, if you didn’t catch the message, he’s using that last phrase as a replacement for “no homo,” and “No Diddy” is actually trending on social media at press time.

Furthermore, it’s unclear if “No Diddy” has a specific point or origin that isn’t this interview, although many are pointing to a BNYX tweet that was also among the first very popular uses of it alongside this clip. Odds are that it was anonymously contributed by a random online user who won’t go down in the history books due to a lack of credit. After all, plenty of social media trends are defined by unsung heroes, and it’s only when they’re huge that we can look back and try to find who was responsible. Regardless, there are also plenty of people who won’t buy into this trend because they believe Diddy did nothing wrong and is just the victim of false claims.

Pop Smoke is trending on social media as fans reflect on his career and influence, four years after his death. The Brooklyn rapper was shot and killed during a home invasion in Los Angeles. He had released his second mixtape, Meet the Woo 2, just 12 days earlier. It debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200.

Earlier this week, Google released some information about the most searched terms on their platform this year. That included a specific section for music and musicians. While the top searches of the year feature the artists you’d expect like Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, and Drake, the top trending searches sport some major newcomers. The trending search list aims to track artists who may have not had sustained high search numbers all year, but hit major peaks. That explains the inclusion of people like country singer Jason Aldean and 1975 frontman Matty Healy who had controversial moments this year.

Also among the top trending searches are two of the biggest breakout rap stars of the year. Ice Spice and Sexyy Red are probably the two biggest breakout rap acts of the year and they both turn up in the top 10. Red herself comes in at number 10 likely drawing attention for some of her hilarious public statements and controversial moments. Ice Spice on the other hand is all the way at number two. That isn’t all that surprising in a year where she made waves for collaborations with Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj and an appearance at the MET Gala. Spirits Company Diageo Ends Association With Diddy Amid Lawsuit

Recently Diddy sued Diageo, a spirits company that he’s been partnered with. The lawsuit claims that the company was “unwilling to treat its black partners equally.” Now according to Fader, the company has announced that they’re cutting ties with Diddy amid the ongoing lawsuit. Diddy’s suit also claims that the company sidelined “black brands” despite aiming to be an industry leader in diversity. A spokesperson for Diageo made a statement to The Independent. “Mr Combs’s bad-faith actions have clearly breached his contracts and left us no choice but to move to dismiss his baseless complaint and end our business relationship,” she said.

Diddy has been in the news for a variety of different reasons this month. For Father’s Day, he posted an emotional tribute to his late father that many fans found touching. He was also given an Apollo Icon award at the Apollo Theater’s spring benefit earlier in the month. Diddy was honored at the event alongside Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Warby Parker.

After the new Young Thug album Business Is Business dropped last night fans took to Twitter to pay tribute to Metro’s grind. He has a hand in most of the songs on Thugger’s new album and some fans just couldn’t believe the consistency and persistence of his musical output. Late last year he dropped his second solo album Heroes & Villains which was packed absolutely full of stars. Future, Travis Scott, Young Thug, 21 Savage, The Weeknd, A$AP Rocky, and many more are among the album’s features.

Metro Boomin has also had one of the only hit rap songs of the year so far. His track “Creepin” with The Weeknd and 21 Savage spent most of the year so far as a top 10 hit. He scored even more commercial success with his recent soundtrack to Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. That album featured many similar collaborators as his first plus Lil Wayne, Lil Uzi Vert, Nas, 2 Chainz, and many more. The album debuted in the top 5 of the Billboard 200. That album sported some moderate hits of its own with tracks like “Annihilate” and “Calling.”

Metro Boomin’s Prolific Output

Fans aren’t just impressed by what Metro Boomin has already put out, but what he has coming next. He’s mentioned in multiple interviews that he has a collaborative album with Future coming soon. “Diddy admitted to exposing Usher to older women, a hyper-sexual lifestyle, and trying to get him to lose his virginity when Usher was around 14/15,” one person wrote. “Lest I digress, I believe Usher’s relations with women and his life might have been different had it not been for Mr. Love,” they further speculated. Another account pointed out that the core issue many have isn’t with the father of seven’s rumoured involvement with the LGBTQ+ community.

Rather, concerned fans have a problem with him “[using] his closeted [sexuality] to take advantage of young men and women in the industry,” according to reports from various sources. “Promising things in exchange for sex/sexual dominance & favours.
