[WATCH] Yasiin Bey Clarifies Remarks on Drake: “No Hate, Just Honest Opinion”

Two weeks ago, conscious rapper Yasiin Bey sparked a wave of discussion when he was quoted claiming that Drake’s music is not representative of true Hip Hop. Now, in a recent video shared on Instagram, Bey seeks to clarify his statement and shed light on his perspective.

In the video, Yasiin Bey begins by emphasizing that his comments about Drake’s music were not intended as an attack or a form of disrespect. Instead, he asserts that as an artist and a member of the Hip Hop community, he is entitled to his opinion and to engage in constructive critique.

“I have no hate for Drake,” Bey states firmly. He goes on to explain that he has reached out to Drake directly to express his thoughts, but has yet to receive a response. Despite this, Yasiin Bey extends an open invitation for a face-to-face meeting with Drake, emphasizing his willingness to engage in a respectful dialogue at any time.

Importantly, Bey makes it clear that his critique of Drake’s music does not stem from a place of jealousy or resentment towards the Canadian rapper’s success. “I have no issue with Drake’s success,” he affirms. “I would never try to diminish his talent or his accomplishments.”

Yasiin Bey acknowledges that criticism directed at Drake in the past has often been mean-spirited and unfair, and he makes it clear that he does not wish to contribute to that negative discourse. “I don’t want to be part of that energy,” he states.

However, despite his intentions to offer constructive criticism, Yasiin Bey maintains that Drake is not above critique.

Just when the public began to turn down the flames on the “Doja Cat is a Satanist” claims, Lil Nas X entered public discourse to ignite yet another online holy war. After announcing his musical baptism and (phony) biblical studies plans, Lil Nas X unveiled his latest single, “J Christ.”

From the track’s artwork recreating Jesus’ crucifixion to the official video (in which the devil makes a cameo), religious leaders have been clamoring for Lil Nas X to repent for his artistic choices. However, that’s not going to happen anytime soon. On January 29, during an appearance on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, Lil Nas X doubled down on his decision. In response to the religious backlash sparked by the record, Lil Nas X held firm to his artistic vision.

“I’ve never been here, mentally and even physically, where… you push your art into the world, and it’s received negatively by the majority,” he said. “But then, like, also understanding why and having to see it through… I’m usually strategic with things, and I can kind of move the conversation.”

Lil Nas X admitted that the swift blowback was initially “depressing” but quickly added that those who are upset should be “mad with themselves.”

“Artistically, it was just supposed to be like, I’m returning… I’m back like [Jesus],” he added. “[But] it turned into this whole thing where it was me trying to dunk on Christians or something. That was never what it was. And then I looked at the video with me eating the communion or whatnot, and I was like, ‘Okay, this looks really bad on paper – this thing that I thought was just, like, a little jokey, fun video.’”

Lil Nas X previously took to Instagram to address the pushback.

It was teased hours earlier that she would be stopping by Good Morning America to make a special announcement.

Megan Thee Stallion announced on GMA that she will be heading out on tour, which will kick off in the summer. It will be in support of an upcoming new album.

“Oh, we’re having the tour this year,” Megan said. “The Hot Girl Summer Tour is going to be 2024, summertime. I feel like I’ve never been able to be outside doing my own thing during the summer, since like 2019. So this is going to be the first time that I drop an album on time for the summer. I do want to give the hotties the Megan Thee Stallion experience.”

Over the past few years, she has made appearances at mostly festivals or one-off shows, so it will be a truly special return. Right now, not much else is known about the exact dates or stops that Meg will be making on the tour — but hopefully the Hotties get to find out soon.

The falling out between Kelsey Nicole and Megan Thee Stallion has been one of the most publicized moments of the Hot Girl Coach’s career so far, as it came hand-in-hand with the charges pressed against Tory Lanez for shooting her in the foot. That trial was nothing short of a gong show, but all this time later, it’s evident that Nicole still has bad blood toward her former bestie. After Nicki Minaj shared her controversial “Big Foot” diss track aimed at the Houston native, her op was quick to tap her producer to remix the song to bring more negative attention to Meg.

Upon hearing the snippet Nicole’s been teasing online, the Queen of Rap shared a tweet praising her and her collaborators. “Oh I am moving to THIS hunty!!!!! Lemme get this up as an alternate version ASAP chiiii. Might call it: Kelsey’s Revenge,” she wrote over a GIF of Wendy Williams.

Rajon Rondo Arrested & Charged For Weed Possession: Details

Rajon Rondo is a player whom NBA fans remember fondly. Overall, he helped the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers win NBA championships. Furthermore, he was a point guard who played with a lot of flair. Although there were times when things got heated with him on the court, he remained an effective player. While he may be out of the league now, there is no doubt that fans still think about him occasionally.

According to TMZ, Rondo went through a bit of a situation over the weekend. He was driving in Indiana when he was hit with a routine traffic stop. However, authorities sensed a smell coming from the vehicle and demanded a search. Eventually, a gun, some weed, and other drug paraphernalia were found in the former ballplayer’s Tesla. He was subsequently arrested and hit with three misdemeanor charges.

The charges in question are “possession of paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of a firearm,” as TMZ states. Eventually, Rondo was bailed out of jail pretty quickly. Bond only cost $705 and Rondo was on his way. It remains to be seen what will happen to Rondo, moving forward. Seeing as though these are misdemeanor charges, substantial punishment is looking fairly unlikely. Hopefully, he is able to get things sorted out.

Ice Spice is coming under fire on social media for sharing an edited photo of herself race-swapped. She posted the picture on Twitter while promoting her new song, “Think U The Shit (Fart).” The original selfie is the cover art for the single.

“Why is she making fun of asian people?” one user asked in response. Another referenced a recent Twitter trend, writing: “She’s trying to see what she would look like if she was black AND chinese.” The edit of Ice Spice appears to stem from a user on the site, @VLONEPREDATOR, who has been editing pictures in a similar manner.

Other replies brought up 1975 frontman Matty Healy’s controversial joke on The Adam Friedland Show in February 2023. Speaking with comedians Nick Mullen and Friedland, he jokingly referred to her as a “chubby Chinese lady.” Spice eventually responded to the drama during an interview with Variety. “When I had heard that little podcast or whatever, I was so confused. Because I heard ‘chubby Chinese lady’ or some sh*t like that, and I’m like, ‘Huh? What does that even mean?’” she said at the time. “First of all, I’m thick. What do you mean Chinese? What? 21 Savage has been having a solid couple of weeks as of late. Overall, we say this because his album American Dream just came out. It has been number one on the charts for two weeks, and fans have been giving it rave reviews. Sure, it may have its fair share of haters. However, the album did a great job of showcasing 21’s talent and songwriting ability. Subsequently, he has been enjoying his success and living life to the fullest. This was evidenced by his appearance on Kai Cenat’s stream last night.

As we previously reported, 21 and Kai got into it while playing Madden. The two ended up wagering a whopping $300K. However, in the end, it was the rapper who got the money. This sent Kai into a rage as he destroyed his PC gaming setup. It was all very humorous and fans got a good kick out of it. However, during the stream, Cenat was able to get one over on the artist. As you can see down below, he surprised 21 with some live snakes, which sent the rapper into a tailspin.

Although eventually, Kai decided to give up and move on with the stream. Later in the evening, Travis Scott called 21 Savage and placed a $10K bet on him to win in a game of 2K. All things considered, last night’s stream was huge for Kai, who continues to level up in regard to his guests.

JT Unveils New Single, Its Cover Art, & Release Date

At the beginning of January, JT, of the femcee rap duo City Girls, hinted at a single on her Twitter account. “Sideways is a song not a verse & in 2024 I want to go from ‘JT has good verses!’ to ‘JT make good songs !!’” It is always exciting to hear artists want to constantly improve and change the narrative around them. Many people had a lot of negative things to say about RAW, the City Girls’ most recent full-length. Low first-week sales in the single digits dug the hole deeper for them to crawl out of.

However, one bright spot from that record was JT’s solo song “No Bars.” A high-octane banger that was all gas and no brakes. In addition to that, fans were eager to hear what she could do as a solo artist. Especially with an R&B snippet that surfaced and some karaoke raps as well. It seems that the proclamation we referred to at the beginning is going to be the start of this new era for JT.
