The custom Titanium and Pave diamond crown,  was created by esteemed jeweler Tiffany & Co., and a collaboration between the rapper and long time creative director Dave Free.  The diamond encrusted crown, which is one of the most widely recognized symbols in religion, was designed over the course of 10 months, the headpiece features 8,000 cobblestone micro pavé diamonds totaling more than 137 carats,  a total of 50 thorns, and weighs around 200g (a little less than half a pound). It required more than 1,300 hours of work by four craftsmen to handset the diamonds. The Headpiece which made its first appearance on the cover of Kendrick’s fifth studio album, ‘Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers’ gave fans a closer look most recently during his European performances including the Louis Vuitton’s Paris Fashion Week show and his headlining performance during Britain’s Glastonbury Festival.  “Kendrick Lamar represents the artistry, risk-taking creativity, and relentless innovation that has also defined Tiffany & Co. for nearly two centuries,” says Alexandre Arnault, executive vice president, product and communication, Tiffany & Co. in a statement  “We are proud and incredibly excited to work with a visionary like Kendrick in realizing his vision for the crown.” The headpiece has been a big topic of discussion, while some fans appreciate its artistry,  its overt symbol has some fans angrily expressing their outrage for him intimidating christ saying  Kendrick said during his Glastonbury set “I wear this [crown] as a representation so you’ll never forget one of the greatest prophets to ever walk the Earth… we gon’ continue to try our best to walk in his image.” Kendrick is known for his devout Christian faith.

Fashion Company ‘RHODE’ Sues Hailey Bieber For Trademark Infringement Claiming She Stole The Name

Justin and Hailey

In the case of RHODE Vs. Rode, a 9-year minority-owned fashion brand owned by Purna Khatau and Phobe Vickers filed a lawsuit against Hailey Bieber for trademark infringement after the model and wife of Justin debuted a skincare line with the same name, which happens to be her middle name.  The fashion line, which has been worn by Beyonce, Rihanna and sold in luxury stores like Saks Fifth Avenue and according to the lawsuit is expected to make $14.5 Million this year alleges that after Bieber launched her Rhode Skincare line earlier this month, Khatau and Vickers immediately began to see confusion in the marketplace which has already hurt their brand.  The partners asked the court for a preliminary injunction ordering Hailey to stop using the name “Rhode”  to prevent further confusion.   “The brand Rhode is everything we have worked hard to achieve, and her using our name is hurting our company, our employees, our customers, and our partners,” they said in the statement. The co-founders said Hailey attempted to buy the rights to the name from them four years ago, but they declined. “the magnitude of Bieber’s following and the virality of her marketing will cause immediate, ongoing, and irreparable harm to the Rhode brand.”  Hailey Bieber, married to Justin Bieber, is a celebrity with over 45 million followers on Instagram, another 9.2 million on TikTok, and a circle of A-list friends including fellow beauty entrepreneur Kylie Jenner. She has leveraged social media to promote her brand, with a single post promoting the beauty brand garnering over 1.5 million likes. The founders claim that some consumers on Instagram have been tagging the wrong Rhode in photos.

See their full statement on Instagram below, Beibers Rhode brand has not responded.

In a separate statement, the clothing brand’s lawyer, Lisa T. Simpson, said that the situation is “unfortunate.”

“We, of course, understand that Hailey wants to use her middle name for her brand, but the law on this is clear: you can’t create this kind of brand confusion just because you want to use your name,” she said. “What Ms. Bieber is doing is harming a minority co-owned business that two women have painstakingly built into a growing, global brand.”

‘Ripleys Believe It Or Not!’ Refutes Claims That Kim Kardashian Ruined Marilyn Monroe’s Dress

Kim Kardashian

This past week, pictures of a before and after of the Marilyn Monroe dress that Kim Kardashian wore at the Met Gala were shared on social media. People accused Kim of ruining the dress after pictures showed missing crystals and pulled seams.

However, earlier today, June 16, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! responded to the accusations made against Kardashian, saying that the dress was in such condition when they bought it in 2017.

“Kim Kardashian’s walk up the Metropolitan Museum’s stairs at this year’s Met Gala caused quite the stir, but one thing Ripley’s Believe It or Not! can say with confidence is that it did not cause damage to Marilyn Monroe’s famed ‘Happy Birthday’ dress from 1962,” Ripley’s said in a statement.

The statement continued, saying that a report they received when they bought the dress over 5 years ago detailed the damage that the dress had sustained. After all, the dress was already more than 50 years old.

“A report written on the dress’s condition in early 2017 states, ‘a number of the seams are pulled and worn. This is not surprising given how delicate the material is. There is puckering at the back by the hooks and eyes,’ among other instances of damage.”

The statement also stated that Kardashian only wore the dress while on the red carpet, returned it, and was given a replica when she reached the top of the Met Gala stairs. “From the bottom of the Met steps, where Kim got into the dress, to the top where it was returned, the dress was in the same condition it started in,” said Amanda Joiner, Ripley’s vice president of publishing and licensing and who the company noted oversaw the dress the day of the Gala and its transportation.”

Marilyn Monroe’s “Birthday Dress” Reportedly Has Damage After Being Worn Kim Kardashian at the Met Gala

The iconic Birthday Dress of Marilyn Monroe has reportedly been damaged after being worn by Kim Kardashian to The Met Gala.

According to Pop Culture, the most expensive dress in the world worn by Monroe in 1962 shows signs of tearing and missing crystals after being worn by Kim K.

According to Page Six Style, Kim K dropped 16 pounds just to fit in the gown. After she walked the red carpet of the Met Gala, Kim K changed into a replica of the dress.

After the Met Gala, the “Birthday Dress” designer Bob Mackie was not happy that Kardashian wore the dress. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Mackie called wearing the dress “a big mistake.”

“[Marilyn] was a goddess. A crazy goddess, but a goddess. She was just fabulous. Nobody photographs like that. And it was done for her. It was designed for her,” Mackie stated. “Nobody else should be seen in that dress.”

Mackie drew the design for Jean Louis in 1962, who would fashion Monroe for the president of John F. Kennedy. Monroe would die three months later.

Kim Kardashian wore the dress as she strolled the red carpet with her bae, Pete Davidson. Leading up to the big event, the dress was displayed at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum in Orlando, Florida.

“Well, this is Marilyn Monroe’s dress and it is 60 years old and she wore this when she sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to President John F. Kennedy in 1962,” Kardashian confirmed to La La on the red carpet. “I had this idea to try it on and then they came with armed guards and gloves.”

The dress originally cost $12,000 and was created around Monroe, who was sewn into it as it was made.
