Joe Budden is creating some debate and speculation surrounding a tweet he sent out on Monday morning. It reads, “Wonder if I’ll get an apology for saying ___ wasn’t dropping an album this year lol.” With a thought like that, it’s certainly going to stir up some guesses and it’s garnering plenty of those right now. 2cool2bl0g reposted the rapper turned podcaster’s tweet, and there seems to be a semi-general consensus on who he could be referring to. “It’s either about Cardi or Hov ” “Cardi on Spaces barking yet? Wash, Rinse, Repeat.” “He was right doe, Cardi gon have 2 albums in her whole career.”

Honestly, if this turns out to be the correct answer, it will not shock us in the slightest. Over the years, Joe Budden and Cardi B have locked horns on several occasions. They have made peace at times as well, but for the most part, things are usually dicey between them. Doing some investigative work, we are sort of in agreement with the fans’ Cardi B assumption. It would make a lot of sense as well because on Sunday via an Instagram Live the Invasion of Privacy femcee dropped a very disheartening bombshell on her fans.

Those are possibly very telling signs that she could be the answer, but there’s more. Following a recent heated argument with Joe Budden this summer, Cardi affirmed that she was going to drop her sophomore album. “Wanna say this to Bardi gang or anybody who’s just a fan of my music or even my craziness…” she said on Twitter. I have my good days and my bad days but you know what, whether it’s good or bad I couldn’t be happier with the obvious anticipation for my album. Sometimes I get a little aggressive because yall know I don’t like to be told what to do. But I promise you it’s coming THIS YEAR.” Better keep those notifications on tonight because we may have an update sometime soon.

Chrisean Rock Officially Changes Her Son’s Name

Chrisean Rock is now a free woman. For most of the internet that isn’t a good thing. Anytime her, her family, or Blueface are brought up, its groans galore. Today, people online are doing more of the same, as the baby mama of the “Thotiana” rapper has announced some more news. Early this morning, she sent out a tweet revealing that she has officially altered the name of her son, Chrisean Jr. If you have been voluntarily keeping up with everything she’s been up to/gone through, you may remember that she was wanting to change it since last September.

At the time of birth, his name was Chrisean Malone Jr. However, she decided that it had to be something different. She was pushing for Jonathan Jamall Porter Jr. because, “He has two sons but he don’t got a junior yet I don’t like it. I don’t like it like that”, Rock said. Now, things are official, but her baby boy’s name is not Jonathan. Instead, she decided to keep Chrisean, but now his middle name is Jesus, and his last is Porter.

There continues to be a lot of arm wrestling over who deserves this upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show performance more. With the 59th game being in New Orleans, Louisiana for now the eleventh time (third this century), fans of Weezy are furious and want answers as to why he was “robbed” once again. In fact, even other artists in hip-hop are hoping that Kendrick Lamar will do everyone a favor and bring out Lil Wayne. However, there are still quite a lot of big names backing the kid from Compton, especially the man who was responsible for selecting him.

“Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer,” Jay-Z said. “His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come”. Overall, Hov makes a lot of great points, and with the year that he’s having and the potential for a new album coming soon, it was a pretty safe and reasonable pick. However, this is not going to stop the Wayne supporters from dubbing this as a massive injustice.

However, not many people in The Neighborhood Talk comment section are feeling this response to her father not being selected. Instead, its gotten her tons of backlash from fans of Lamar. “The Kendrick hate is hilarious dawg. That man is an artist in every way possible now nobody likes him out of nowhere ”, one user writes back. “The Super Bowl has been in Louisiana 10 times…Why didn’t yall call for Lil Wayne in any of those other games? 21 Savage has apparently made a comment about the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef, or at least, that’s what fans think based on a vague new tweet linked here. “If you waiting for somebody else to go against me before you do your a sucker,” he wrote on Saturday morning (May 11), which is definitely a fair assessment of what happened to the 6ix God in this feud. After K.Dot outright dissed him and J. Cole on “Like That,” people noticed other subliminal shots at Drizzy and assumed that all of the album’s collaborators were explicitly against him. Of course, this is just speculation and this tweet really could mean anything, but it just lines up too well for the presumption not to pop up in your head.

Furthermore, 21 Savage did perform his material with Drake during his ongoing tour, even when he stopped in Kendrick Lamar’s home city of Los Angeles recently. Given his strong collaborative history with The Boy, no one really expects him to switch up all of a sudden, although some are taking his silence too seriously. Regardless, the Atlanta MC is probably just focusing on himself and his career right now, as tour likely has him too busy to even think about any of this. Many are also wondering what other Atlanta artists must think about this battle, especially those that the Compton lyricist name-dropped on “Not Like Us.”

Metro Boomin and Future’s collaborative album WE DON’T TRUST YOU sent hip-hop fans into a frenzy for its quality and for its confrontational stance. Moreover, Kendrick Lamar’s feature on “Like That” shaded Drake and J. Cole, proclaiming himself to be the only top dog in what he think is a falsely crowned “Big Three.” Of course, given Metro and Drizzy’s previous tensions plus some new theories that Fewtch is also beefing with OVO, this seems to have prompted a civil war of sorts in the rap game, one that we haven’t seen at this level of visibility and artistry in a long time. But with a couple of days of analysis in the rearview, fans are looking at old tweets and realizing the road here seems to have been paved all along.

Furthermore, fans have also unearthed plenty of old verses, interview clips, social media posts, and other instances and interactions that could inform this current state. However, since no one involved has either directly or indirectly addressed any of this, it’s a tough call to make. Even without this explicit confirmation, though, the narrative is already there, and it’s now on these artists to define how they will proceed.

After Travis Scott popped out at Future and Metro Boomin’s Rolling Loud L.A. set, fans found footage of La Flame asking the duo to play the diss against Drake and J. Cole. While this doesn’t really confirm anything, a lot of social media users assume that Travis has his own issues with either MC. Still, considering that “MELTDOWN” arrived not even a year ago, it would be huge if something went down between him and the 6ix God in that short span of time.

Meanwhile, the “I Serve The Base” team hinted at this rift, but they also definitely predicted that they would hit it big with WE DON’T TRUST YOU. From what the album’s promising first week sales projections indicate, it seems like they would be right in this assessment. After all, the sad reality is that nothing brings clicks quite like conflict, especially amid the highest echelon of the genre. GloRilla Thirsts Over Damian Lillard At NBA All-Star Weekend

NBA All-Star weekend took place this past weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana. In fact, this storied, event-filled, three-day break away from the regular season is now 73 years deep. However, it seems over the last several iterations, fan interest is on the decline for many reasons. A shake-up may be required to bring some life back into the festivities, just like how the NFL did. Even though the lack of effort from the players in the All-Star Game is concerning the other events seem to be keeping the engagement afloat. Namely the 3-Point Contest, it saw one of its more tightly competitive races for the trophy in recent memory. Damian Lillard emerged victorious with a score of 26 and GloRilla liked what she saw.

However, the Bucks point guard did not stop there. Damian Lillard also took home the All-Star Game MVP after the East surprisingly handled the West, 211-186. He poured in 39 points on 11-23 from three. GloRilla was most likely oohing and ahhing as she watched the superstar have a successful weekend.

Comparisons between them have been very common, and they have a pretty interesting bond that is sometimes friendly and occasionally competitive. Recently, Ye let out a tweet asking the tech tycoon “where [his] rocket ship” is at, a reference to his lyric on his new Vultures cut, “CARNIVAL.” In response, Mr. Musk made a cheeky Nicki Minaj reference, tagging her in the tweet as well. After all, as she reminded us so many years ago during her radio heyday, she has a special connection to space travel.

“Starships were meant to fly [get it, Barbz?] and our next one launches in about 3 weeks,” Elon Musk responded to Kanye West. “But I recommend waiting for a few more test flights before hopping on board. @NICKIMINAJ.” As such, this made for a pretty comical crossover moment on social media, and we’ve yet to see whether the Trinidadian MC will hop on a rocket ship, too. We know that Ye probably will when he gets the chance, and that’s one of many notable bars on “CARNIVAL,” albeit for very different and much less “cancelable” reasons.

Of course, this is far from the only rapper to want in on Elon Musk’s empire. But speaking to that point earlier about competition, some MCs think that they can make something even better. Dee-1 recently praised Meek Mill for a recent tweet that he put out concerning what being a “gangsta” really is. “Being gangsta will get you hurt put in jail or killed ……” the Philly rapper posted on the social media platform on Tuesday (January 2). “Being smart will get you out of poverty and your family and friends living better. It’s no comparison, being smart is the only solid way out the trenches… everything else is wide range life risk just to survive!” Moreover, the Christian MC posted an Instagram video reacting to this on his page. “Big Salute to @meekmill,” he captioned. “Some haters and some blogs don’t wanna see love and support, but that’s exactly what this is. DJ Envy Denies Blackballing Nicki Minaj

Yesterday, Nicki Minaj took to Twitter to address DJ Envy, accusing him of blackballing her and throwing a jab about his alleged real estate scam. “Remember how cocky dj envy was when he was saying he black balls my music on the radio?” Nicki wrote. “Ask yourself how a DJ could get away w/that behavior. Then I remember him selling them busted houses & I have to laugh… We prayed, envy 1 by 1… God will show y’all that you are NOT GOD.”

Now, the DJ has responded on The Breakfast Club, claiming that he plays her music nowadays. According to him, he previously decided not to play Nicki’s music because she allegedly threatened to send people to beat a fellow DJ up for his comments on one of her albums. In solidarity, he decided not to include her in his mix.

“I ride for all the DJs. Nicki Minaj at the time got upset and said she was sending some Queens dudes up here to pretty much beat [DJ Self] up. That was wack.
