Coi Leray Teases Fans With A Potential Name Change

Earlier this year, Coi Leray found herself unexpectedly in the middle of a beef. Eminem made a brief appearance on the Lyrical Lemonade album All Is Yellow where he took shots at Coi’s father Benzino. He even mentioned Coi by name in the verse, joking that he wouldn’t be able to score a feature from her anymore. Though her father hit back repeatedly Coi mainly tried to avoid the beef entirely and take the high road.

Now she’s working on some artistic changes following a shift to Island Records earlier this year. She dropped her debut single on the new label “Wanna Come Thru” back in January. But she could be going forward in her career with a different name, albeit just a shortened one. She took to X, formerly Twitter, to muse on the idea earlier this week. “I want to remove “LERAY” from my name and just be COI :)” she posted. In the comments, fans debate whether her name is better with or without the Leray. Some point out that she already named her new album that dropped last year COI. Others think the name is perfect for the cuter side of her demeanor. Check out all the opinions fans expressed below.

Coi also popped up on another collaboration recently. She teamed up with Kaliii to contribute guest verses to the G-Easy song “Femme Fatale” which dropped earlier this month. The song has already racked up nearly 2 million streams in just a few weeks. Ye Asks Music Industry To Respect Name Change

Ye, the artist formerly known as Kanye West, has issued a statement asking the music industry to respect his legal name change. In a letter from his chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos, it was explained that the rapper considers “Kanye West” to be his “slave name”. “Ye is a Black man in America who wants the right to full self-determination just like everyone else,” the letter reads in part. Ye legally changed his name in October 2021, but has struggled to see the change reflected across published works. In their report of this story, TMZ used the rapper’s legal name and “Kanye” interchangeably.

However, he has shown a preference for the name as far back as 2018. In an interview with Big Boy, Ye stated that he felt a connection to the name’s Biblical roots. Ye is a derivative of a name for God. However, the rapper erroneously stated that it was also the most commonly used word in the Bible.

Elsewhere, Ye has reportedly been formally banned from performing in Brazil. Sources who spoke with the US Sun said that the rapper had been “firmly denied” a request to perform in Rio. He had expressed a desire to recreate the Rolling Stones’ infamous free concert in 200. 1.5 million people attended the Copacabana Beach concert. The reason for his ban is his string of controversial behavior, both his anti-Semitic rants and his behavior in Italy with Bianca Censori.

However, Ye doesn’t need to leave the US to put on controversial concerts. A number of fans have complained about his Rolling Loud concert. Ye and Ty Dolla $ign simply walked around a specially constructed stage as pre-released music played. A number of people have argued that this was a misrepresentation of the advertised concert. Furthermore, Rolling Loud has refused to confirm or deny reports that he and Ty were paid $10 million for the concert. The show was abruptly added to the concert lineup last month.

Travis Scott & Kylie Jenner Legally Change Son’s Name, Regret Initial Choice

Even though your birth name sounds like a big deal, what you’re given on your first days of life is not set in stone. Travis Scott & Kylie Jenner decided to legally change their son Wolf’s name to Aire. Moreover, court documents obtained by TMZ indicate that the couple filed to change their child’s name in legal paperwork. Also, they clarified that both parents are in agreement with the switch, and that both signed off on documents now up for court examination. While authorities have yet to sign off, it’s hard to think of a reason not to allow such a process.

Furthermore, the docs read that Travis and Kylie “regret the initial name choice of Wolf Jacques Webster. Now that Petitioners have had the chance to spend time with their baby, they believe the name Aire Webster is a better fit.” Of course, readers may remember this decision’s reveal as early as March of 2022. Even though Aire was just a few weeks old, they felt the name “Wolf” didn’t suit him and had a change of heart.

Kylie Jenner & Travis Scott Legally Change Son’s Name From Wolf To Aire

In January of 2023, the social media and lifestyle mogul revealed his new name to the world. In fact, it was just a few weeks before Aire celebrated his very first birthday, not without some controversy. Moreover, the name is of Hebrew origin and reportedly means “Lion of God.” Not only that, but the change actually fits the “aesthetic” of the family, if that’s even a valid consideration. After all, his sister’s name is Stormi, and his father’s Nike collaborations also kind of inform this more fitting name.

Unfortunately, it looks like this process won’t change the couple’s currently split status. For example, an OK! report cited sources allegedly close to the two. “[Kylie] has no idea what the future holds,” the insider reportedly stated. “But right now she doesn’t see any type of a reconciliation. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters to Kylie is what’s best for her kids, period. She knows Travis is an amazing father and that’s the only thing that she cares about.” Regardless of your take on all that, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner.

Dwyane Wade’s Daughter Zaya Granted Legal Name & Gender Change

Zaya Wade, the transgender daughter of Dwyane Wade, was just granted a legal name and gender change, according to TMZ. Moreover, on Friday (February 25), they reported that a Los Angeles county judge approved the 15-year-old’s legal identity. Furthermore, this comes after her “proud” father Dwyane petitioned the court, which he first did in August of 2022. Now, in legal terms after coming out as trans in 2020, Zaya Malachi Airamis Wade is a female. While it might anger the most bigoted or close-minded of individuals, this is an important step in Zaya affirming her identity and being recognized as she wishes in the legal sense.

Dwyane had Zaya with ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches back in 2007. While Zaya’s become an outspoken voice for trans rights and gender education, her parents had differing approaches to her identity. Moreover, the couple divorced in 2010 after eight years of marriage. The retired NBA star advocated for Zaya’s right to “live more comfortably and honestly in all aspects of her life.” However, Funches accused him of pressuring their daughter’s transition “in order to capitalize on financial opportunities.”

Still, the 41-year-old former basketball player called such claims “nonsensical” in a November 2022 filing. “While it certainly would have been preferable for Zaya’s mother to be supportive of this important part of Zaya’s journey, Zaya should not be forced to put her life on hold while she waits for Siohvaughn to acknowledge and accept her truth,” he stated. Also, he said that his daughter’s legal transition is in her “best interest. From simple introductions and food orders, to applying for a driver’s license and filling out college applications.”

Meanwhile, Funches- who used her daughter’s dead name “Zion”- said she wanted Zaya to wait until age 18 to transition. Afterwards, Wade once again expressed issue with this mentality. “I’m very disappointed that [Funches] continuously finds ways of centering herself and HER needs, without regard to her children,” he wrote on social media. Regardless of your take, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest on Dwyane and Zaya Wade.

Dwyane Wade Files To Legally Change Gender, Name Of Transgender Daughter

Screen Shot 2022 08 19 at 7.48.40 AM

According to a confirmed report from TheBalst, NBA star Dwyane Wade has filed a court petition to legally change the name and gender of his transgender daughter, Zaya Wade.

According to documents obtained from the L.A. County Court, Wade is asking a judge to officially change his child’s name from Zion Malachi Airamis Wade to Zaya Malachi Airamis Wade. Zaya is a transgender, however, being that she is under 18 years of age, her father has to be the one to officially request the change in court.

The petition mentions Zaya’s mother, Siohvaughn Funches, but says that Dwyane Wade has full authority to make the decision. “Pursuant to the terms of the Final Custody Judgment, (Wade) has full authority to make decisions on behalf of the petitioning minor, and he is not required to receive consent from Ms. Funches-Wade. As a courtesy, Ms. Funches-Wade has received notice of this petition,” the document reads.

In the filing, Wade asks that the court legally issues a decree recognizing that the minors’ gender is changed to “female. It also specifically cites the reason for the change as “to conform with gender identity.”

The multi-millionaire athlete admits he is shocked by his daughter’s confidence in this area, saying, “I went years without telling my chef that I don’t like cilantro on my burger — as an adult, it took me years to have the confidence to say that…My daughter, at 8 years old, had the confidence to say, ‘This is who I am. This is who I want to be.’”

The petition is now pending with the court.
