Charlamagne Tha God Responds To Mo’Nique’s “Breakfast Club” Bashing

Mo’Nique’s recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay, as is seemingly becoming typical for the podcast, was quite wild and elicited a lot of reactions. She spoke on many industry topics, interpersonal drama, past criticism, and previous ruffles with the likes of Netflix in 2018 over racial and gender bias. Moreover, this call to boycott the streaming service resulted in the actress getting a “Donkey of the Day” title from Charlamagne Tha God on The Breakfast Club. A tense interview followed that, and in 2022, she and Netflix “amicably resolved” a discrimination lawsuit and she got a comedy special shortly after.

Now, the Maryland native looked back on this exchange with Charlamagne and the radio show with Sharpe, and had some choice words. “People were having call-ins when I said, ‘This is not right,’” Mo’Nique shared with Shannon Sharpe. “I was ‘Donkey of the Day.’ Remember that? The Breakfast Nubs called me the ‘Donkey of the Day.’ That’s what they said. And they had a whole call-in about how I was the ‘Donkey of the Day.’ But you didn’t do the same thing when you found out we settled.”

That’s why I need to mind my damn business when it comes to other people’s business.’”

Charlamagne Tha God Blasts Wendy Williams Documentary

Charlamagne Tha God has sounded off on the upcoming Wendy Williams documentary. “I don’t why they have the camera’s in that woman’s face. Why y’all want to document someone’s downfall?” Charlamagne asked during today’s episode of The Breakfast Club. Earlier in the day, the first trailer for Where Is Wendy Williams dropped online. The tell-all documentary from the radio and TV legend will air on Lifetime later this month. The first trailer for the two-part show is the first sighting of Williams in over a year after she retired from public view due to ill health. The trailer, linked below, is not exactly easy viewing. Williams drinks and cries as she recounts her long struggle over the past few years.

It’s unclear if this is the documentary that Williams was spotted film in early 2023. The last time Williams was seen in public was at her childhood home in New Jersey as part of a new reality show that was expected to air last fall. Furthermore, the news of the documentary comes around a week after news broke concerning Williams’ current location. Radio host and Williams’ long-time friend Miss Jones claimed that Williams had quietly relocated to Florida with her family “several months ago”. Jones revealed that she had attempted a wellness check on Williams, only to be told by employees at Williams’ former building that she was “several months too late”. The moved reportedly coincided with revelations about Williams’ health, as well as the fact that her family were concerned that her team was “taking advantage” of her. Williams’ son claimed that her team were making decisions on the media veteran’s behalf and had even frozen Williams out of her bank accounts.

Responding to the news, many fans offered their well-wishes to Williams. “I’m not wishing anything on anyone. I’m a believer in God, and I believe God can heal Wendy, and restore her. I pray the will of God for her, and I pray for those who surround her as well,” one person said. “Anyone who grew up in NYC listening to Wendy knows that this is truly sad. Kevin destroyed her. I don’t ever see her coming back to broadcasting. So so sad,” added another.

Since the track dropped, they’ve been embroiled in a heated battle with Meg’s fanbase online. Nicki eventually responded with a song of her own, “Bigfoot.” Unfortunately, however, it’s done little to quiet the uproar.

Recently, some diehard Barbz even leaked the location of Megan Thee Stallion’s mother’s grave. “You know what to do,” they told fellow supporters. For obvious reasons, it was assumed that they planned to desecrate the gravesite. The post received plenty of backlash on social media, with the Hotties and also most Barbz agreeing that things had gone too far.

During a recent episode of The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne Tha God weighed in on the debacle, and he agreed. He claimed that it’s a bad move to mess with the dead, despite how upset you may be with their living family members. He also adds that they could find themselves in some serious danger at the hands of their loved ones, insisting that they use some common sense.

“Older people would tell you, don’t play with the dead,” he explained. “Ain’t no good gonna come to anybody doing stuff like that. You have cursed yourself and don’t even know it, okay? You do not play with the dead in that way, you let the deceased rest in peace. Earthquake Addresses Katt Williams’ Illiteracy Accusations On “The Breakfast Club”

At the beginning of this month, Katt Williams made waves with his viral appearance on Club Shay Shay. During the interview, he took aim at several of his peers, including Kevin Hart, Rickey Smiley, Cedric The Entertainer, and more. One fellow comic he mentioned was Earthquake, and he had mostly complimentary things to say about him. While he did note that Earthquake is undeniably funny, he accused the D.C. native of being illiterate.

“‘Why Earthquake not in movies?’ Cuz he’s illiterate,” Williams told Shannon Sharpe. “He can’t read. And they found that out when they gave him a show and then put the cards in front of him.” Later on in the interview, he praised him for his ability to make others laugh. “I don’t think anybody’s ever said Quake not funny. He’s probably never been booed, I don’t think. I don’t think he’s ever given a bad performance in his life.”

During a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, Earthquake decided to clear things up. According to him, he appreciates Williams’ compliments, but can definitely read. He also notes that he’s proven this time and time again throughout his decades-long career. As for what Williams’ Club Shay Shay appearance did for Black comedy as a whole, Earthquake says nothing. “Comedy I don’t think [it did] anything, cuz there’s wasn’t no jokes in it,” he explained. “I’m in the joke-telling business, you know what I mean? Charlamagne Tha God Dodges Jess Hilarious Question From Cam Newton

Charlamagne Tha God was quick to shut down a question from Cam Newton about Jess Hilarious after the ex-NFL QB tried to press on the comedian’s sudden departure from The Breakfast Club. As Charlamagne and DJ Envy wound down their interview with Newton, Envy mentioned that they would be happy to appear on Newton’s show “once we get our co-host”. This prompted Newton to ask what happened to Hilarious, who was named as a permanent co-host less than a month ago. Instead of answering, Charlamagne moved into thanking Newton for his time.

As a result, it’s still unclear what is going on at the popular radio show. Hilarious has been noticeably absent from the show for the past few days. Furthermore, she called out Charlamagne and Envy for their conversation comparing SZA and Mary J. Blige. “These N-ggas trash. Envy shut up! I know artists be pissed when old heads do this bc now everybody negatively comparing SZA to MJB and it ain’t even her fault! She has her own identity already [facepalm emoji].” Meanwhile, Charlamagne has also seemingly denied that Hilarious was every made a permanent host and that the decision to not to elect a third host “came from downstairs”.

Elsewhere, Newton recently revealed that there is one NFL he’d come to the league for – the Atlanta Falcons. “Me having a family now, it’s always been about family and I don’t see myself leaving Atlanta. If it’s not Atlanta, I don’t want to [come back],” Netwon told Good Morning Football this week. Newton is originally from Atlanta but played college football in Florida and Alabama before being drafted by the Panthers.

Newton has not suited up in the NFL since 2021 when he briefly returned to the Carolina Panthers. Once seen as a generational talent, Newton’s career hit an ignominious end. A string of injuries limited Newton’s ability to harness his signature dual-threat capabilities. His 2021 campaign saw him go 0-5 as a starter as the Panthers rotated between Newton, Sam Darnold, and P.J. Walker. However, it’s unlikely that the Falcons, currently quarterbacked by second-year starter Desmond Ridder, will be offering Newto a contract. Atlanta has been floated as a potential landing spot for Russell Wilson.

Blige, and whether they’re as comparable as the radio hosts made them sound on a recent episode. “Do we appreciate SZA as an artist the way we should?” the former asked the latter. “Yes, absolutely,” Envy said without hesitation.

“Do we really?” the Brilliant Idiots host inquired again.”I mean, she gets all the radio play and all of that — I feel she can get more awards, which I’m sure she will. You know, the Grammys are next month, so she’ll get those accolades, but do we really appreciate the once-in-a-generation talent she is?” Charlamagne pondered.
