More rumors about Steve Harvey and his wife Marjorie have recently emerged. This latest round of gossip comes from a leaked phone call between Harvey’s radio co-host Shirley Strawberry and her husband Ernest Williams. “If she was there we probably wouldn’t have been all over the house…you know he’s scared…I knew I wasn’t supposed to be in there but he brought us in,” Strawberry told her husband after he asked if Majorie was at a recent social event that Strawberry attended. Additionally, Strawberry spoke on how the Harvey home is very much tailored to pamper Majorie. “Marjorie has her own Spa, her own workout room…she could go in there and get massages every day. People come to her house and…work her out and all of that.”r

Furthermore, Strawberry made claims about how Marjorie perceives Harvey’s house guests. “He was happy to see us…he always invites us over there and we don’t never go…because I don’t know, if she’s there…you know. She’s, um….nope….she looks at as as ‘the help’ you know…it is what it is.” Furthermore, Strawberry claimed that Harvey allows his wife’s behavior because he is “scared” of her. Harvey went on to say that after confronting the employee in question, the tweet was defended as being necessary as Harvey needed “engagement”. Furthermore, he ends his video by joking that the individual now needs to find “employment” instead. Harvey and Bridges have been married since 2007. It is Harvey’s third marriage and by far his most successful. Harvey was with his first wife, Marcia, for 13 years between 1981 and 1994. Speaking on Shannon Sharpe’s Club ShayShay podcast, Harvey revealed the set of circumstances that led to him having just $1700 in the bank. According to Sharpe, this occurred in 2005. “It’s called a divorce, man,” Harvey began, “But I got jumped on even before the divorce. I’m gonna say who did it, but they go in cahoots with my financial planner and I was writing checks to the government for seven years, in tax checks. Filling in the tax checks, giving them to be turned in, and they was keeping them. They was taking the money from the account like I was paying taxes, and keeping it for theyself.” He only found out when “My accountant passed and a lady went into the offices and found a box on the floor… I’m thinking I’m even but my lawyer says to me ‘you haven’t paid taxes in seven years’.”

However, things went from bad to worse for Harvey. “I had saved some millions but before I split the assets, she [Harvey’s second wife Mary Shackleford] went into the account and removed it. The divorce was over, and it’s like let’s split the assets, well you took all the assets. And I was stuck with this tax bill. I had to pay seven years of back taxes with interest. I was in a world of trouble, man. I looked up and I had $1700.” However, things would turn around in the coming years, with a stand-up special, a book, and eventually, Family Feud in 2010. Regardless, it just goes to show that no one is ever as well off as you think they are.

Back in 2015, Harvey initially announced Ariadna Gutiérrez of Colombia as the new Miss Universe but had to return to the stage and apologize, noting that Gutiérrez was actually the 1st runner-up. Instead, Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines was the true winner.

Harvey explained to Sharpe that someone behind the scenes wanted to change the way the winners were announced. Thus, they gave him the names in a different order than he was expecting and he got confused. At first, the producers told him to wait until the next day to issue the correction, but he decided to go back out and address it then and there. “Stupidest shit I ever did!”, he said to Shannon Sharpe. “I should’ve let them fix it in the news. My stupid ass walked right out there and took the full hit man. I took it dead in the teeth, like it was all my fault, but it wasn’t.”
