Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless had a pretty horrendous falling out a few months ago. Overall, this was all because of Skip’s continued disrespect on Undisputed. Fans were getting sick and tired of it, and so was Shannon. Subsequently, Sharpe decided it was time for him to leave. Once he did so, he went over to ESPN and First Take where he is now good friends with Stephen A Smith. Meanwhile, Bayless is set to fade into obscurity sooner rather than later.

It was recently announced that Skip would no longer be on FS1 come next year. His contract is running out and he will not be renewing. There is a ton of speculation as to what he will do next although many believe he should retire. As for Shannon Sharpe, well, he gave his thoughts on all of this on “Nightcap,” his show with Chad Ochocinco. Below, you can see that Sharpe took a diplomatic approach while speaking on all of this.

Shannon Sharpe Speaks Out

Sharpe noted that he is grateful for the opportunity Bayless gave him. Furthermore, he was adamant that he wanted Skip to succeed. However, he knew that they could no longer succeed on the same show together. It was a mature approach and one that Bayless probably wouldn’t have taken himself. Either way, it is going to be interesting to see how Skip moves forward with this new chapter of his career. If one thing is for sure, he has been surpassed by Sharpe in every possible metric.

Skip Bayless Receives Sobering Update From ESPN

Skip Bayless will reportedly not be getting invited back into the ESPN fold this summer, according to Front Office Sports. Bayless departs FS1 later this summer, with the date of his final Undisputed show not set yet. Co-host Shannon Sharpe left after the 2023 NBA Finals. Sharpe went to ESPN, where he quickly found success as Stephen A. Smith’s debate partner during the NFL season. His departure from FS1 also allowed him to build his media profile outside of TV appearances, with his Club Shay Shay podcast becoming one of the biggest weekly podcasts on YouTube. Bayless can now follow a similar exit plan.

From the moment FS1 announced that Skip Bayless was leaving their network, he was linked to an ESPN reunion. He left the network in 2016 after nearly three decades. He helped pioneer the sports debate show as a panelist on the Dick Schaap-hosted show The Sports Reporters in 1989, and again with Cold Pizza and First Take in the 2000s. The latter launched the television career of Stephen A. Smith, who’s since developed into the face of ESPN and recently asked for a contract extension that makes him one of the highest-paid personalities in all of journalism.

Skip Bayless’s departure from FS1 comes after years of declining ratings for Undisputed. The ratings only got worse when Shannon Sharpe exited the network last year. FS1 attempted to change the format of the show by bringing in a rotating cast of characters, but the ratings still sagged. Fans have long called Bayless’s gimmick outdated. He built part of his career around criticism of players. His most infamous target is LeBron James, who has never publicly responded to any of Bayless’s critiques. That type of hot take content makes for good social media posts. However, it is not what all fans want to see, which is why LeBron James and JJ Redick’s own Mind The Game podcast performed so well in its brief run.

Skip Bayless is also reportedly not on the best of terms with both Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe. Though he did his part in helping to grow their media careers, they have both surpassed him, and now they work together on ESPN’s flagship show. Adding a third man who both stars of the most popular show on the network have personal issues with is a risk that most networks would be unwilling to take, and ESPN appears to be uninterested in rocking the boat.

Skip Bayless Is Out At FS1

Skip Bayless is no longer part of FS1. The co-host of the Undisputed has severed ties with the network after eight years. According to the New York Post, Bayless’ final episode will air sometime during the fall. His departure marks the end of an era, but it is not an altogether surprising announcement. Skip Bayless has made his discontent with FS1 clear over the years. To such an extent, in fact, that he complained about his co-hosts on the air.

During a 2023 episode of The Undisputed, Bayless grew frustrated by the chatter of his three co-hosts, Richard Sherman, Keyshawn Johnson and Michael Irvin. The veteran sports analyst took a backseat for most of the conversation. That being said, he made his frustrations clear toward the end of the segment. “I don’t know how closely you watched their games, but I can,” he told his peers. “We don’t have time because you guys talk too much.” He then told Johnson, point blank, that he talked “too much.”

Skip Bayless Spent Eight Years On The Network

The writing was on the wall for Bayless when his original co-host left the show in 2023. Shannon Sharpe walked away from The Undisputed and FS1 due to tension with Bayless. Tellingly, part of the draw of the show was seeing Bayless and Sharpe clash with one another. The absence of the latter was a blow that the show’s never fully recovered from. Ratings declined, and Skip Bayless struggled to find a groove in the revolving roster of guest hosts.

Of course, the alternative was worse. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe were frequently at each other’s throats during the show’s peak. The latter admitted on The Stephen A. Smith Show that he got so mad during one segment that he considered attacking Bayless. “I remember going home, calling my sister,” Sharpe stated. “I called my brother… It took a lot. It took a lot for me not to put my hands on [Bayless]. It actually did.” Skip Bayless has not yet commented on his exit from FS1. New York Post claimed that the analyst referred them to FOX Sports, who declined to make a statement.

However, it has deteriorated into straight-up homophobia and misogyny.

Yesterday, AB’s account came under fire for using homophobic slurs against none other than Sketch. Following the revelation that Sketch used to have an OnlyFans, the Twitch streamer became a trending topic, and AB looked to capitalize. However, AB or whoever is behind the account had a change of heart and even apologized. “My page comedy & entertainment But I wanted to make sure I let you know I spoke with @thesketchreal this morning Jokes are jokes but making sure his mental health good Never know what people got goin on or are goin through,” AB’s account wrote.

However, not even a couple of hours later, AB took to Twitter again, this time with a picture of Sketch and the caption “Shannon Sharpe’s favorite streamer.” AB and Sharpe have been embroiled in a one-sided feud for months now, so the shot isn’t a surprise. Regardless, it has become quit clear that Brown will stop at nothing for some engagement. As for Sketch, we wonder how he feels about AB, his antics, and the recent comments made on Twitter.

Megan Thee Stallion is taking one heck of a victory lap in the wake of releasing her new album, Megan. In addition to reupping one of her most high-profile partnerships with a hilarious commercial for Amazon Prime Day, she’s also been celebrating the success of her Hot Girl Summer Tour, which has brought both admirers and increased camaraderie with the current generation of rap girls. She was given a chance to talk about it all — and given an apology for a vulgar joke — on the latest episode of Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay show.

Right at the top of the episode, Sharpe issued his mea culpa for the tasteless joke, which involved a comment on Meg’s attractiveness that came across as very unattractive. During a prior episode in November with fellow former NFL star Chad Johnson, Sharpe noted that Megan was “stacked up like dirty laundry in a dorm room” then, in response to a question about dating her by saying he’d “have her stretched out like a quarter-to-three.”

While he acknowledged that he was out of line, he also assured her it was all said in jest — and as a country girl herself, Meg certainly understood.

Shannon Sharpe has apologized to Megan Thee Stallion for a joke he made on his podcast episode last year.

In case you missed it, Shannon Sharpe revealed he had a crush on Megan Thee Stallion but made the reveal rather explicit. Appearing on Night Cap with Chad OchoCinco, Shannon said, “I’d have her stretched out like quarter to three.”

He added, “I’d have her opening up like saloon doors.”

But the Internet wasn’t having it and shared their criticism of the NFL Hall of Famer.

Thee Stallion was a guest on his Club Shay Shay pod and Sharpe opened with an apology. “I want to apologize to you personally,” Sharpe said. “I always wanted to sit down and have a conversation with you but I didn’t know if that was going to be possible. I made a comment and told a joke. I said it in jest, but it would have been just as funny as I left you out of it.

“For any unwanted attention, harm, shame, or embarrassment that I caused you or your family, I want to say, as a man sitting before you, I apologize.”

One of the night’s entertainers, Megan Thee Stallion’s latest business venture, has something to keep the party going.

On May 19, the “Down Stairs DJ” rapper teased that she was gearing up to launch a tequila brand. Today (July 1) during her appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast, Megan revealed that she has fellow Houston hottie Beyoncé to thank for the business’ formation.

When host Shannon Sharpe asked Megan about her next chapter as an independent artist, she revealed that it has leveled her up in all ways with the guidance of Jay-Z and Beyoncé.

“When I was in the situation with [1501] and I wanted to get out of it, they told me you need to do this on your own,” she said. “Like, ‘You already know what it is. You already have all the tools. All the legal sh*t you are going through, I know you are learning something. So you should figure out how to get out here and be your own boss.’”

Sharpe and Johnson did clear the air and apologize shortly after. As for the USA women’s basketball team, which is headed to the Olympics in Paris, Caitlin Clark was just cut from the team for not “checking more boxes” than the other 12 players chosen. Shannon Sharpe has come under fire for his hypocrisy about the two women’s similar circumstances. 

In the argument, Shannon Sharpe has stirred up some controversy. The well-known sportscaster has had contrasting views over Sha’Carri Richardson and Caitlin Clark’s failure to qualify for the Olympics. Fans claim that his criticism of Richardson is unjustified. Sharpe has since received heavy criticism for his remarks. Shannon Sharpe recently supported the rookie Caitlin Clark after word leaked that she would not be playing for the United States at the Olympics in Paris.

Shannon Sharpe Called Out For Sha’Carri Richardson And Caitlin Clark Hypocrisy

Shannon Sharpe backed Caitlin Clark by smashing USA Basketball’s decision to leave her off the Olympic team. He said, “Name a more popular woman basketball player right now than Caitlin Clark.” However, he had a fiery reaction to Sharri Richardson when asked about her losing her Olympic berth. Criticizing the sprinter, he said, “She could’ve competed. She didn’t qualify to compete. Stop the bulljive antics. Train hard. Sports aren’t sympathetic. You do or you don’t.” 

Sha’Carri Richardson was suspended for ingesting prohibited drugs in violation of WADA regulations. She participated in and won the 100-meter US Olympic trial event in spite of her anguish. Sadly, Shannon Sharpe, who supported the authority’s choice of Caitlin Clark due to her popularity, didn’t appear to think much of this touching tale. The 2024 WNBA draft saw an average viewership of 2.45 million, the most ever for the yearly event, thanks in large part to Iowa women’s basketball player Caitlin Clark. The 22-year-old is a fantastic performer, scoring 16.8 points per contest on average. Fans of Sha’Carri Richardson, however, feel that Shannon Sharpe’s mockery of the current world champion’s supporters is inexcusable.
