Key Glock Is Keeping Fans Fed With “Q Dogz”

While Kendrick Lamar and Drake have definitely been the main characters during May, Key Glock is not too far behind them. The Young Dolph protege continues be as hot as anyone due to the quality of his singles this month. Fans are definitely still hungry for a new album, especially after how great Glockoma 2 was. But do not take what Key Glock is doing for granted at this moment in time.

According to a press release, the reason for the Memphis, Tennessee rapper consistently dropping over these last 24 days is because of a pre-planned schedule. Sources close to him are calling this the May Takeover, which is seeing him drop five songs during the fifth month of the calendar. “Q Dogz” clocks in as the third entry and it is definitely up for the best out of the tracks we have gotten. For those who are not aware, his previous efforts include “The Greatest” and “F*** Around & Find Out.”

Listen To “Q Dogz” By Key Glock

“Q Dogz” is Key Glock taking the intimidating and braggadocious approach. Even though he is rapping about grisly violence, there are some introspective bars laced throughout too. His definition of living a fulfilling life is being there for his daughter and making as much money as possible. But he is also making it clear to not take his soft side as a weakness. “How dare these f*** n****s to call out me? (Dang, the f***? Fah, fah) / How dare these f*** n****s try somethin’? / N****s rappin’ ’bout bodies, ain’t gone one (Nah).” These lyrics have extra credibility, especially with the haunting instrumental backing it. Glock’s takeover is not just narrowed to this month, but he continues to be impressive with still one week to go.

What are your thoughts on “Q Dogz” by Key Glock? Is this his best song as of late, why or why not? Do you think he is the hottest rapper right now, why or why not? Does this get you excited for his next project? Does he have one of the best sets of ears for beats? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Key Glock. Russ Interpolates A 2000’s R&B Bop With “Best Friend” Featuring Melii

Russ is one of many rappers who has gone unconscious in 2024. The longtime New Jersey rapper and singer has been rattling off single after single like nobody’s business. Since the month of January, the 31-year-old has put forth eight tracks. Throughout the year, he has been going introspective and talking a lot about loving, broken, and causal relationships.

“Best Friend” is one of those shallow love cuts from Russ, but it seems that he wants to move into a more serious situation. “Don’t look no farther (Don’t) / I’m here to cater to you / ‘Cause I’ll be your lover (Yeah, I’ll be your lover) / I’ll be your best friend (Yeah, come here).” Then, the feature, which is provided by Melii, tells the story from her side. “Baby, tryna be my number uno / The perfect duo, I can tell.”

If that chorus that we highlighted sounds somewhat familiar, that is because it is an interpolation of 2000’s throwback. Russ and his fleet of producers, which includes Boi-1da, are looking to modernize the Baby Bash and Akon track “Baby, I’m Back.” That song dropped back on the former’s 2005 record Super Saucy. It is not a bad attempt, as this version is a little raunchier in some respects. Check out “Best Friend” with the link.

What are your thoughts on “Best Friend” by Russ and Melii? Is this his best release over the last few months, why or why not? Do you think it is about time for Russ to announce a new project? Who had the stronger performance? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Memphis Producer Hitkidd Recruits Key Glock & Doe Boy For “NOTT”

Memphis, Tennessee is one of the hottest spots for hip-hop artists without question right now. Whether its rappers or producers, the pool of talent is large. Hitkidd is one of the cities fastest rising beatmakers right now and today he is working with Key Glock and Doe Boy on “NOTT.” He is not a stranger to these two trap veterans, as Hitkidd had a hand in Glockoma 2 and OH REALLY. The last time we spoke about the 29-year-old was when he collaborated with host of his Memphis female contemporaries for Renegade. It was released in early December of last year and featured the likes of GloRilla, K Carbon, Gloss Up, Slimeroni, and more.

For Key Glock, he is just continuing to stay on his hot streak of singles. Over the last couple of months, he has remained as consistent as anyone, with songs like “The Greatest,” “F*** Around & Find Out,” the mutliple “Let’s Go” remixes, and more. For Doe Boy, he has also been on quite the heater himself. This effort follows up on “Shoulda Coulda Woulda,” “HUH,” and “Say It To My Face.”

Listen To “NOTT” By Hitkidd, Key Glock, & Doe Boy

On “NOTT,” the “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” producer brings a slick and cavernous trap instrumental. Both Doe Boy and Glock coast over it well, with the former bringing an angry, mean-mugging flow. As you can expect, the song is all about being movers and shakers in the game while describing their competition as way below them. Check out the single with music video above.

What are your thoughts on “NOTT” by Hitkidd, Key Glock, and Doe Boy? Is this one of Hitkidd’s better beats as of late? Who had the strongest rapping performance and why? Is Hitkidd the cream of the crop when it comes to Memphis-based producers? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. YG Claims There’s A Lot Of “Weird” Rappers On “Just Re’d Up 3” Single

YG has had some fans excited over the last few months with a new project that is coming soon. That would happen to be Just Re’d Up 3, the third entry in the series. The Compton, California veteran is continuing the saga of projects 11 years after the second one released in 2013. Its origins trace back to 2011, though. However, for number three, YG is not labeling it as a mixtape, rather a studio album. YG formally announced the record across his social media platforms a few days ago, revealing the cover in progress and estimated drop date. Now, YG is back with its third single “Weird.”

This track follows up on the late April release “KNOCKA,” as well as the 2022 lead single “Miss My Dawgs” with Lil Wayne. YG has been straying away from the G-funk and West Coast hip-hop sounds and opting for more straight-line trap cuts. “KNOCKA” had some elements of his OG style, though, especially with the sample flip. But “Weird” focuses on his older sound, and its sounds like something that would have landed on My Krazy Life.

On this track, YG is claiming that a lot of people, including unnamed rappers are oddballs. He paints himself as the man on top, especially with bars like these. “Point the .40 at a n**** ’til it click, click, click, click (Click, click) / N****s weird, pillow-talkin’ to h*es / You don’t support the bros, you ain’t livin’ by the code (By the code).” Check out the hyper aggressive cut with the link above.

What are your thoughts on “Weird” by YG? Is this one of his better tracks as of late, why or why not? Does this get you excited for his upcoming project Just Re’d Up 3? Quavo Returns To His Regularly Scheduled Programming With “Clear The Smoke”

After a pretty bloody battle with Chris Brown, Quavo is looking to get back on track with “Clear the Smoke.” The former Migo went shot for shot with R&B singer after Breezy rekindled the flame on “Freak.”Okay, now f***in’ my old b****es ain’t gon’ make us equal / Sippin’ that 1942 ’cause I don’t do no Cuervo / Freak b****, she like Casamigos, not the Migos.” The 11:11 (Deluxe) cut prompted Quavo to fire back on “Tender.” However, it did not stop there, as Brown would then retaliate with “Weakest Link.” Finally, that would be followed up by “Over H*es & B****es.”

Now, with the dust settling on their feud, Quavo can now refocus on the streak he has been on. He has been really keeping the momentum up since he released Rocket Power last September, his tribute to Takeoff and sophomore solo LP. Huncho has worked alongside artists such as Rich The Kid, Destroy Lonely, Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign, as well as Chief Keef. However, “Clear the Smoke” sees him riding solo.

Listen To “Clear The Smoke” By Quavo

Quavo seems to be working on a more ethereal and spacey sound, compared to the straight-forward trap bangers of the past. You are still getting the trademark flows and adlibs but against more grand instrumentals. We saw him experience with that on his last record, so this shift is not too much of a surprise. You can check out “Clear the Smoke” with the new music video above.

What are your thoughts on “Clear the Smoke” by Quavo? Is this one of his best releases as of late, why or why not? Do you think he is nearing a release of a new album? Don’t want no smoke ’bout p***y (No smoke)

Zacari Continues To Shine On Sultry New Single “Lonewolf Still”

Zacari is the secret weapon of Top Dawg Entertainment. He always crushes his guest verses, and sometimes he lends soulfulness to album cuts he’s not even credited on. His best known feature is still Kendrick Lamar’s “LOVE,” but the singer has shined equally bright on albums by Ab-Soul and TDE as a whole (Black Panther soundtrack). Zacari has yet to drop a solo release, though, and the desire to hear one grows increasingly higher with each new single he puts out. “Lonewolf Still” keeps this desire sky high.

“Lonewolf Still” is Zacari’s second single of 2024. He went the off-kilter acoustic route on “Ocean,” but “Lonewolf Still” sees him veer back into his sultry, R&B sweet spot. It works. The production is spacey in ways we previously haven’t heard from Zacari tracks. It’s reminiscent of blackbear, or perhaps even the weirder side of Post Malone. It’s a welcome change, given that some of Zacari’s earlier singles suffered from nondescript beat selection. “Lonewolf Still” brings all of the atmosphere one could hope for, given the evocative title and album cover.

Zacari Embraces A Darker, More Textured Sound

The lyrics follow suit. “Thunderstorms let me know God is watching over. Ain’t afraid of death as much as I’m afraid of comfort,” Zacari croons. “Leave me ‘lone, you know I been plottin’ on a come up. And I don’t wanna see that girl unless she wanna comе f*ck.” It’s melodramatic on a certain level, but it sounds epic given the textured musical accompaniment. The hope is that “Lonewolf Still” serves as the introduction to Zacari’s debut album. He’s upped his solo game since the late 2010s, and it sounds like’s ready to step off the bench.

What are your thoughts on this new song, “Lonewolf Still” by Zacari? Is this his best single yet? Do you want to hear a solo album in 2024? Who do you want the singer to collab with? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Zacari. Joel Q & Brittney Carter Pay Homage To “Nosetalgia” On “Top 5”

The general consensus once Drake and Kendrick Lamar began trading bars was that lyricism is alive and well. However, that’s always been the case. Chicago’s own Joel Q has been one of the many proponents keeping lyricism intact and clearly, it’s been working out for him. After releasing a series of projects over the past few years, including Trophy Room II and Love, My N***a 2, he’s kept his foot on the gas with plenty of bangers since the top of 2024.

While Joel Q often focuses on uplifting his community and spreading positivity, the moments where he pulls up to pop his sh*t showcase just how potent his pen is. This week, the rapper teamed up with close collaborator Brittney Carter (who delivered an excellent verse during her On The Radar freestyle last year) for their latest collab, “Top 5.” The two MCs bring the heat as they make a strong case as to why they’re some of the best to step to the mic. Joel Q kicks things off with a fiery verse, filled with clever punchlines like “Catch your girl look at me like Woo, had me feelin’ like I’m Pop Smoke.”

Joel Q & Brittney Carter Make A Strong Case Why They’re “Top 5”

Following a spree of bars, Joel Q hands the mic over to Brittney Carter who delivers a memorable closer. Carter comes through swinging, with bars that are equally inspiring while simultaneously sonning her competitors through a mildly melodic flow. “I think my purpose on these tracks is show you lil’ n***as you can,” she raps with vigor. The two have previously worked together on songs like “Head High” but “Top 5” is truly a testament to the type of talent coming out of Chicago right now.

The music video for the new collaboration also pays homage to Pusha T and Kendrick Lamar’s classic “Nosetalgia.” With a minimalistic black-and-white video, Joel and Brittney Carter step through the streets of Chicago as they deliver their verses. Hopefully, we get more of this from the two coming soon. Joel Q already announced that he has a new project on the way so it seems like this is setting the tone for what he has in store this year.

Quotable Lyrics
All that scammin’, you ain’t bossed up yet
N***as rather look rich than really be in position
That mental need studying
I know that the pictures that I paint make colors
That’ll have my daughter color in the back seat Cullinan

Eva Shaw Connects With TwoTiime On Summer Bop “no excuses”

Canada’s become a hub for some of the most innovative producers in the world, regardless of genre, and Eva Shaw is currently at the forefront. Over the years, she’s expanded from electronic music to dishing out bangers alongside some of the most championed artists from the country, such as Nate Husser and City Fidelia, among others. This month, she unloaded a brand new banger alongside TwoTiime, the Ottawa-born artist who recently signed to Polo G’s ODA label, titled, “no excuses.”

Shaw’s bubbly, upbeat production sets the stage for a potential song of the summer but it’s TwoTiime’s smooth melodic delivery that helps tie the record together. It’s an impressive stepping stone for the MC, who has been leaning deeper into the more pop-centric records as of late with songs like the Jackson 5-sampling, “One More Chance.” Plus, his ability to tap into this romantic side of himself certainly feels like a strong indication of his musical evolution and songwriting in general. The pitched up and filtered hook on “no excuses” is the icing on the cake. There’s no doubt that we’ll be hearing this record a lot throughout the summer.

Eva Shaw’s Hot Streak Continues

Shaw’s been on an impressive run over the past few years. In 2022, she unveiled SOLO, a 27-song effort with plenty of trap influence that further bridged the connection between Canada and America’s underground scene. The project boasted appearances from Kris The $pirit, Thouxanbanfauni, Pressa, and more. Then, she followed up in 2023 with HYPE HOP 003 that showcased her prowess within electronic. In addition to “no excuses,” she also recently locked in with BTK Villeion for the single, “QUIET.”

As for TwoTiime, it’s been a rather quiet few months on his front. However, following the announcement of his signing to Columbia and ODA, he confirmed that a project is on the way. Last year, he unveiled singles like “Priceless” and “Find My Way,” leaving fans in high anticipation of his next move. Hopefully, we’ll have an update on a project sooner rather than later. For now, we’ll definitely have “no excuses” on heavy rotation. Check the single out above.

I’ll get you right for the season
Get you that Birkin you love for no reason
My friends tell me that I’m tweaking

Rich The Kid Finally Releases “Band Man” Along With Peso Pluma Collab “Gimme A Second”

Rich The Kid is the midst of pretty big comeback. The Queens, New York rapper is still riding high off being on one of the biggest records of 2024. That of course is “CARNIVAL” off VULTURES 1. For some, the track came and went. But there is no denying that it was being played everywhere at the time of its release. Now, we are gearing up for Rich The Kid to make his solo return possibly sometime this summer with Life’s a Gamble.

After some pretty underwhelming projects, namely BOSS MAN and Trust Fund Babies, it is clear that he is going big or going home on his third album. Ty Dolla $ign and Kanye West are the executive producers and rumors say there will be a crazy number of features. One of those we know now, as Peso Pluma makes an appearance on “Gimme A Second.” This one of two singles that Rich has put out, with the long-awaited “Band Man” being released in unison.

Listen To “Gimme A Second / Band Man” By Rich The Kid & Peso Pluma

Both tracks do not really stand out from a lyrical perspective, even though Rich has never been seen as a wordsmith. But where both singles shine are production wise, perhaps to no surprise. DJ Durel, “Gimme A Second”, and d.a. got that dope, “Band Man”, both lay down some tight trap instrumentals. Each one has a distinctive vibe and overall carry the tracks. However, we have to give credit to Peso Pluma, as he does bring an animated performance.

What are your thoughts on “Gimme A Second / Band Man” by Rich The Kid and Peso Pluma? Which track do you prefer out of the two and why? Does this get you excited for Life’s a Gamble? Central Cee & Lil Baby Go “BAND4BAND” On Aggressive Drill Banger

You CAN’T RUSH GREATNESS ever. That is certainly the motto that Central Cee has taken up ever since the release of 23 back in 2022. The Shepard’s Bush, London drill rapper has billed himself as one of the UK’s biggest voices over the last few years. He has done so by creating catchy bangers like “Doja” and “Sprinter.” Additionally, you can attribute his success due to his crossovers with the likes of J. Cole, Drake, The Kid LAROI, PinkPantheress, and more.

While singles and features are great, fans, and us at HNHH alike, are still waiting on a new project from Cench. That could be happening sometime this year, with CAN’T RUSH GREATNESS being the speculated title. There is no confirmed information that it will happen this year, but we feel the chance is strong. Cee has been quite active in 2024, dropping his take on R&B with “I Will,” as well as a “CC FREESTYLE,” which has recently been removed from his YouTube page.

His third effort, “BAND4BAND,” sees him and first-time collaborator Lil Baby display seamless chemistry. This dark and aggressive drill/trap cut features a slick flow from Cee, and a solid performance from the ATL native. People have been critical off Baby as of late, including us, but we think this a return to form. “BAND4BAND” is quickly growing in popularity, as it is currently number three on trending for music on YouTube with over 2.2 million views.

What are your thoughts on “BAND4BAND” by Central Cee and Lil Baby? Is this one of Cee’s best songs as of late, why or why not? Do you think Lil Baby gave one of his best features in a while?
