Not only was the “Ex For A Reason” collaborator recently compared to the Bride of Chucky for leaning into a more gothic look, but now she’s also facing criticism for wearing her mugshots on a hoodie. In a photo reposted on @theshaderoom, JT wears a dark sweater with at least eight photos of her in jail plastered across the front. Many of them see her smirking for the camera, while others – notably as she got older – look far more serious.

As many are noting in the comments, the 30-year-old looks notably different in the mugshots compared to now. Rather than focus on her life growing up in the spotlight and wealthy in Calabasas, the teen instead told the story of someone struggling to make their dreams come true with her lyrics. “He told me I’m not gonna make it / I told him you crazy,” she lip-synced along while previewing her song for viewers. “My name is exotic / I get foreign texts when they pay me.” As expected, social media has had plenty to say about Barker’s unnamed song, most of it dissing her.

Chlöe’s “In Pieces” First-Week Sales Come In At 10K, Social Media Reacts

It’s no secret that internet trolls love to throw shade at artists based on their first-week sales numbers – particularly women in the industry. In the past, names like Saweetie and Doja Cat have been clowned for selling less than 10K or failing to chart. Now, it’s Chlöe who’s feeling the heat. After teasing her fans for over a year, the R&B darling finally unveiled her In Pieces album back in March. It boasts impressive solo efforts, as well as features from the likes of Chris Brown, Missy Elliott, and Future.

The Atlanta-born artist poured plenty of hard work and dedication into the 14-track effort. Ultimately, however, she seems to have missed the mark with most of her audience. After an impressive rollout, Chlöe’s In Pieces moved just 10K units in its first week out, charting at #119 on the weekly Billboard 200 update. In comparison, she and little sister Halle Bailey sold 24K units with their joint project, Ungodly Hour, which charted much higher at #16.

The rapper has become well-known for bringing shows like BMF and Power to audiences at home, but he’s not so pleased to see his ex following in his footsteps with her forthcoming The First Lady of BMF: The Tonesa Welch Story movie on BET+. As HipHopDX notes, the news actually came out via Deadline earlier this month, the New Yorker is just late in sharing his thoughts on the project.
