DDG Admits Rubi Rose DM Was “Petty,” He Wanted Halle Bailey’s Attention

DDG says he was being “petty” when he DM’d Rubi Rose back in 2023 amid a fight with Halle Bailey. Speaking about the incident with VladTV for a new interview, he explained that he knew Rose would post the messages and wanted Halle to see them because he was upset.

“I did it in front of her. I had no intention of actually linking with Rubi Rose,” he said. “She seen it. Imagine you’re arguing with your girl and you get mad at her for something. ‘I’m finna do this. Watch this,” type sh*t. I feel like people thought that I was like sneakily like ‘Oh what you doing?’ and that’s when she posted it. I know what type of girl she is.”

Elsewhere in the interview, DDG discussed convincing Rubi Rose to create an OnlyFans account. Rubi Rose says that Drake saying “ruby-rose two-tone” on “7am On Bridle Path” is her favorite time being shouted out on a song. The admission comes despite Drake not actually intending to reference her with the lyric. She explained her take on the song during an interview with Complex.

“My favorite time somebody name-dropped me in their song,” Rose pondered. “It’s two different ones because some people say he wasn’t talking about me. But, he was clearly talking about me. When Drake was saying ‘the Rubi Rose two-tone.’ That one because it’s f*cking Drake.” When Complex shared the interview on Instagram, fans shared several laughs at Rose’s expense. “Smh pretty girls never beating them stupid allegations,” one fan joked. Social media users reposted an alleged Instagram post made on the “Close Friends” setting by Rose. “Nicki Minaj evil as f-ck. Only option to marry was a pedophile, b-tch evil, pretty in the face but body botched as f-ck, evil spirit a– b-tch, old as f-ck tryna keep up, ozempic really saved her big back self. Beefing with these young girls so lame, b-tch washed…youre 40….. Take care of papa and your drug addiction,” Rose allegedly wrote.

In response, the Barbz jumped into action. Social media was quickly full of Rose previously praising Minaj. This included tweets such as Rose saying “I wish I was Nicki Minaj”. This seemingly confirmed that the bag was indeed a fake.

The ruse was put in motion in late November when Cenat hit up Rose, Corinna Kopf, and Pokimane with the offer to buy them all Birkin bags. However, while talking to the three women, he was simultaneously showing his stream chat his screen, which was displaying the dropshipping website Temu. It’s unclear if the three women were in on the joke or were victims of Cenat’s prank.
