Months after Nicki Minaj and Sexyy Red collaborated on the latter’s “Pound Town 2” song, Minaj hopped onto social media today with the hopes of getting back in the studio for the remix of “FTCU.”

“You got your verse for #FTCU?” Minaj tweeted. “Finna drop the remix @SexyyRed314_ Left #PoundTown to go #FTCU a remix for a remix.” Sexyy Red then responded a few hours later: “Song + Video.”

Right now, there is not a clear release date for Nicki Minaj’s remix of “FTCU” with Sexyy Red. Now that Minaj and Sexyy Red are on the same page about doing a song and a music video together, it shouldn’t be too long until fans will be able to hear it.

Sexyy Red Hosts Improvised Show After She Couldn’t Enter High School Due To Weed Smell

Sexyy Red has to deal with a lot of preconceptions and biases as not just a female rapper, but as a rapper in general, even when she’s trying to do right by the kids. Moreover, on Wednesday (April 3), she took to her Instagram Story to express her grievances with a high school in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri that she was meant to visit, but was denied entry to because she smelled like marijuana. The “Get It Sexyy” MC was still on school property, though, and eventually greeted students from atop her vehicle. Not only that, but she treated them to an impromptu performance of the aforementioned track, and you can see them scream along to the lyrics in a clip below.

“Look, so this school, I came up here, got cute, tried to talk to the kids, give them the word of the day and they’re going to put me off tell me I smell like weed,” Sexyy Red expressed on the social media platform. “B***h, you’re nobody, they ain’t come to see you, Otis! B***h, you heard who they’re screaming for,” she remarked against those who denied her visit.

Despite this setback and this reaction, folks will apparently have many more reasons to be excited for Sexyy Red in the near future. For example, Nicki Minaj recently teased that she might invite her on for a remix of her Pink Friday 2 cut, “FTCU.” That would certainly give the Barbz another great moment to praise, and would further cement the 25-year-old as one of the most in-demand hitmakers today. However, these are all just ideas and teases at the moment, so we’ll have to wait and see whether they end up panning out.

Some music lovers are disappointed by this news, but others see it as a chance for other rap divas to shine with their NSFW tracks, such as Sexyy Red.

Over the past year, the St. Louis native has steadily dropped bangers on us, from “SkeeYee” to her latest hit, “Get It Sexyy.” The latter’s music video quickly went viral thanks to appearances from Drake, Adin Ross, and Soulja Boy among others. The 2000s iconography has us feeling seriously nostalgic, but besides dropping a visual, the mother of two has other ideas for promoting her song. Among them is a social media twerk battle with Yung Miami, which some think Sexyy championed.

For her part, the Hood Hottest Princess put on one hell of a show, flaunting her natural body in a white crop top and red booty shorts with “FREE MY BABY DADDY” written across the back. She showed off her splits, making her cheeks clap on the ground before effortlessly getting back up without missing a beat. When Miami responded she was also looking cute and casual at home, bending over to bounce her behind in unison with the beat to “Get It Sexyy.” Because she was nowhere near as theatrical as her competitor, viewers voted the Florida native as the loser but still applauded her for looking so good.

Though she looks good twerking, Yung Miami is still under public scrutiny for being named in Lil Rod’s troubling Diddy lawsuit. So far, the City Girl’s been denying any involvement in drug trafficking or being a sex worker for her former lover, but the internet isn’t totally convinced. Nicki Minaj Teases A New Sexyy Red Remix Of “FTCU”

Sexyy Red was one of the biggest breakout stars in rap music last year. While her success featured crossovers with numerous high-profile collaborators including Drake, SZA, Chief Keef, and more, Nicki Minaj was one of the first to get in the door. The pair teamed up for a remix of Red’s song “Pound Town” early last year. The resulting “Pound Town 2” landed on the original version of Red’s debut album Hood Hottest Princess.

Now the two fire-spitting MCs could be teaming up for yet another crossover. Nicki recently took to Twitter to tease fans about yet another crossover. “You got your verse for #FTCU? Finna drop the remix @SexyyRed314_ Left #PoundTown to go #FTCU,” Nicki’s tweet reads. The tweet references her hit song “FTCU” which started as a deep cut from Pink Friday 2. The song has been on the Hot 100 for a full 4 months now. It peaked at number 15 back in December and currently sits at number 82 this week. Sexyy Red had a breakout 2023 as a rapper, but it’s far from the only skill she showed off during her meteoric rise. She’s also become one of the definitive twerkers in rap music, using the dance repeatedly as a go-to in viral videos and during concerts. While she may be approaching the right to call herself the best in the game, recently another challenger approached her for the crown. That came just after a video of Yung Miami showing off her skills while on a yacht made the rounds online.

As fans showed their love for both artists, Miami threw down the gauntlet. She stumbled upon a video of Sexyy Red twerking to her new song “Get It Sexyy” and proposed a challenge. “Hold na I wanna battle,” Miami said in a quote tweet of the original video of Red. The claim had fans immediately considering their allegiances. “She gone win lol Miami you can’t even twerk” one of the comments on the post reads. Joe Budden Believes Drake Is Secretly ‘Getting Paid’ To Promote Sexyy Red And Doubts The Duo’s Friendship

Despite his ongoing spats, a public co-sign from Drake can catapult any rising musician to mainstream success.

The “You Broke My Heart” rapper’s latest muse, Sexyy Red, has undoubtedly seen a boom in her career. Their time on the road, recorded collaboration (“Rich Baby Daddy“), and flirty energy have made them a fun fixture for music fans. However, Joe Budden doesn’t believe any of it.

On March 28, the podcaster told his co-hosts that he believes Drake is secretly “getting paid to promote Sexyy Red.” Budden’s criticism didn’t stop there. He went on to say that he also doubts the fawned-over friendship presented by the entertainers online.

Although another member of the panel quickly agreed. Trevor “Queenzflip” Robinson pushed back. “Quick, real, quick, real quick, you said this ‘paid on somebody’s deal,’” he said. “Is this confirmed, or is this just some inside sh*t that you are saying?”

Budden quickly snapped: “Oh, you think [Drake] just likes being around Sexyy Red?”

The truth is yet to be determined. But given the extravagant gifts, including cash and lavish purses, Drake gave to Sexyy Red and his appearance in her recent “Get It Sexyy,” they seem to be fine in their friendship.

Sexyy Red is looking to shake up 2024 like she did in 2023 with her album Hood Hottest Princess. The St. Louis, Missouri rapper has a handful of hit songs under her belt from that record and its recent deluxe. Of course, you have the one that started it all, “SkeeYee,” as well as “Hellcats SRTs,” “Pound Town 2,” and “Bow Bow Bow.” However, their might be a single that could overtake the others. That would be her latest collaboration with Tay Keith. The two have developed an undeniable chemistry going back to that record. “Get It Sexyy” has been racking up the streams and now it has a crazy music video to go with it.

It became her highest peaking song on the Billboard Hot 100, hitting number 23. Additionally, it rose to the top of the Apple Music chart during its first weekend. Naturally, “Get It Sexyy” deserved a music video and man does it deliver. The visuals might hit you in the nostalgia bone, as this is a clear callback to early 2000s visuals. The grainy shots, mixed in with massive crowds and choreographed dances, are a fun homage to that era of hip-hop.

What also makes this video a hit for Sexyy Red are the plethora of hilarious cameos. It would not be a 2000s-style video without Soulja Boy. He appears at the beginning to continue to the running joke that he was the first to do everything in the industry. Adin Ross also plays a nerd who is obsessed with Sexyy Red, getting off to her twerking on a chunky looking computer. It is both weird and hilarious as it makes light of their recent back-and-forth online about the two hooking up. Rob49 also makes an appearance in some funny scenes with Adin that you have to see for yourself. The biggest cameo is Drake though, as he and Red are on a date that does not end well for the Canadian rapper.

Chief Keef Has Nothing But Praise For Sexyy Red

Sexyy Red was one of the biggest breakout stars in rap music in 2023. She dropped her debut album Hood Hottest Princess early in the year and then followed the album up with a deluxe edition a few months later. Included in the tracklist of the deluxe album was a collaboration with Chief Keef called “Ghetto Princess.” The song has racked up more than a million streams on Spotify and the pair recently got a chance to perform it live.
