Azealia Banks Slams Nicki Minaj & Sexyy Red, Claims Cardi B Belonged On “FTCU” Remix

Yesterday, Nicki Minaj teamed up with Sexyy Red, Travis Scott, and Chris Brown to deliver a new remix of her track “FTCU.” So far, most fans are enjoying her latest collab, with some even arguing that it’s better than the original. Unfortunately but unsurprisingly, Azealia Banks disagrees, and didn’t hesitate to share her own take online.

She took to her Instagram Story to put Nicki on blast, arguing that she shouldn’t have collaborated with Sexyy Red. Instead, Banks think she should have put her longtime rival Cardi B on the remix. She also called Nicki out for some of her past drama, suggesting that she’s hypocritical for collaborating with the St. Louis-born performer, considering previous disses she’s thrown Cardi’s way.

Azealia Banks Shares Her Take On Nicki Minaj’s New “FTCU” Remix Ft. Sexyy Red, Travis Scott, And Chris Brown

“Nicki u ain’t fooling nobody with those weak females ur trying to make urself look like a nice person with,” she said in part. “U looked so st*pid on that stage with all those uniconic rap girls. And sexy red look like she stink in this photo. I can’t even tell if it’s her. U really accused cardi of having herpes but are posing with a chick who admitted to have [gonorrhea].” In her post, Banks also called out Nicki for “laughing at” Asian Doll, and accused her of not truly liking Foxy Brown.

Clearly, Banks isn’t a fan of Nicki’s latest collab, and isn’t afraid to show it. Nicki’s yet to respond to the criticism. What do you think of Azealia Banks’ reaction to Nicki Minaj’s “FTCU (Remix)” with Sexyy Red, Travis Scott, and Chris Brown? Do you agree that Cardi B would have been a better fit than Sexyy? Chris Brown Fans React To His Feature On “FTCU (Sleeze Mix)” With Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott & Sexyy Red

Nicki Minaj’s “FTCU (Sleeze Mix),” produced by ATL Jacob and Southside, has a lot of dynamism to it. There’s a patient and cold performance from Red Ruby, a wavy and versatile showing from Travis Scott, and a confidently aloof appearance from Sexyy Red. However, a lot of folks on social media think that the best part of this new remix was Chris Brown’s lewd and luxurious rap verse, especially existing fans of Breezy. But a lot of folks also expressed surprise at the belief that he out-rapped the other MCs on this cut, and while that’s obviously up for debate, it was a nice move from him considering his typically R&B and pop-centric appeal.

Of course, plenty of fans were quick to point out that the Virginia native has always made rap music, and has often showed off his skills in the art form. In fact, he was just recently in some rap beef with Quavo, so he continues to check all the hip-hop boxes. Nevertheless, Chris Brown definitely had some standout bars here worthy of stacking up with established writers like Nicki Minaj. Through plenty of charisma and a flow switch, he also fits in really well with Travis Scott and Sexyy Red’s contributions.

After all, he recently dropped the deluxe version of his album 11:11, which contains a lot of tracks and some highlights for fans who haven’t been able to get enough of it for the past week. As such, Chris Brown is probably having a pretty good time right now, and has a lot of momentum to keep up with what might be a big 2024 for him. There’s also a tour on the cards for this year, which is also keeping die-hards ecstatic. Check out some of their reactions to this verse below.

Travis Scott Receives Praise From The Barbz After Scintillating “FTCU (SLEEZEMIX)” Verse

Travis Scott is easily one of the biggest artists in hip-hop right now. Overall, his album Utopia was a bit polarizing, however, it was still one of the biggest albums of 2023. Furthermore, he went on a tour that also did extremely well. Now, he is on a bit of a break, however, he is still very much in high demand. Even if his features have been hit or miss, artists know that his fanbase will consume anything he does. The artist streams incredibly well, and it has led to appearances on major albums and song remixes.

On Friday, Scott was on Nicki Minaj’s SLEEZEMIX version of “FTCU.” This new version of the track also came with features from the likes of Chris Brown and Sexyy Red. You can listen to the official audio, below. As you will hear, Scott got his very own beat switch. This is kind of amusing when you consider how Scott is known for his beat switches and expensive-sounding production. Either way, he certainly delivers a solid performance here.

As you can see in the tweets below, fans were feeling Scott’s performance on the track. There was a whole lot of praise being dished out, especially from the Barbz. It felt like the Barbz used to hate Scott thanks to the Queen and Astroworld sales debacle. However, now, everyone has made up, and some solid music is being created. If you can get praise from the Barbz, it is an accomplishment in and of itself. Hopefully, Scott uses this verse to build momentum for more solo material.

Nicki Minaj’s Viral Dance Choreographer Clears The Air After Being Called Out Online

Canadian internet personality Donté Colley has shared another update on the ongoing drama involving the dance choreography for Nicki Minaj’s “FTCU.” He claims he isn’t getting an opportunity to collaborate nor proper credit for his work on a dance for the track.

“I have an update,” he began in a new video. “So, let me get into it. I was reached out to by a member of her team and I wasn’t after payment for this. I was just looking for the opportunity to potentially collaborate and receive credit. Neither one of those options seemed possible and have been rejected. I want to thank you so much for your words of encouragement. Y’all saw something, knew it wasn’t right, and brought it to my attention and we should be uplifting and supporting each other and continuing to do so. So, I encourage other artists to seek credit for their work.”

Minaj previously addressed Colley’s request for credit in a tweet from last month. “I thought a lady Zara made it up?” she wrote at the time.”Thought she was an artist having fun w|it…? so glad barbz brought it2 my attention in time [making me proud as always]. I’ll have Casper reach out to this VERY TALENTED & seemingly VERY sweet guy ASAP to figure out the best way to make him feel seen, appreciated & paid.” From there, someone from Minaj’s team explained why they weren’t working with Colley on the tour. “Please STOP spreading false narratives,” they wrote on Twitter. “We offered to pay him as a choreographer even though it was less than 10 seconds of choreo that we altered. ALSO offered him tix to his hometown w/ a meet a greet. He declined all this & demanded a shoutout and to get dance on stage w/ her!”

Nicki Minaj Shows Love To Chris Brown, Fans Want To See Him On “Pink Friday 2” Tour

Nicki Minaj had nothing but love when responding to a video of Chris Brown playing “FTCU” for one of his dancers at a recent concert. “This is so very appreciated. Wow. 🫶🏽,” Minaj wrote on X, formerly Twitter. As a result, many fans began to implore Minaj to bring out Brown during stops on her upcoming Pink Friday 2 tour. Nicki’s 53-stop tour of North America and Europe begins on March 1 in Oakland. At the time of writing, the only confirmed guest act is Monica, who will open all non-festival shows on the North American leg.

Minaj and Brown have seven collaborations together. Their partnership dates back over a decade to “Right By My Side” in 2012. Their most recent collab was Brown’s “Wobble Up”, also featuring G-Eazy, in 2019. Furthermore, their best charting was the Young Money track “Only”, which went triple platinum and peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. However, their best-performing collab with no other featuring artists was Brown’s 2013 “Love You More”, which peaked at No. 23.

Chris Brown Claims He Was Uninvited From NBA All-Star Celebrity Game

The love from Minaj caps off a mixed week for Brown. The singer claimed he was uninvited from the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. “I was asked by the NBA to play in the All-Star Game this year! Only for them to call later and say I couldn’t do it because of their sponsors like Ruffles. At this point, I’m sick of bothering me and I’m tired of living in the f-cking past,” Brown wrote on Instagram. Furthermore, Brown claimed that after uninviting him, the NBA still asked him to sit courtside at the game. Brown posted an initial invitation from the league to appear at the game. However, he did not provide evidence of the league uninviting him.

It was the second major event in a week that Brown had seemingly been excluded from. Usher confirmed in a recent interview that he did not consider Chris Brown for a cameo at his Super Bowl halftime show. “No, I did not reach out to Chris Brown. I’m not gon’ tell you everybody I reached out to. I reached out to some hitters. I was curating what would be one of the greatest Super Bowls of all time and it actually turned into that because of who I reached out to,” Usher said.

Nicki Minaj Explained Why There Aren’t Any ‘Pink Friday 2’ Videos, And The Barbz Won’t Be Happy

In late December, Pink Friday 2 debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Nicki Minaj’s third-career No. 1 album. Pink Friday 2 also snagged the No. 1 spot on Minaj’s personal ranking of her own albums, and the latter chart matters more to Minaj. The iconic rapper sat down with Ebro for Apple Music, where she shared that initially wasn’t sold on the commercial viability of “FTCU,” which led into an explanation as to why she hasn’t dropped any Pink Friday 2 visuals. (The Beyhive can relate.)

Minaj’s story is set in the studio with J. Cole, the featured artist on her Pink Friday 2 track “Let Me Calm Down.” While there, she also played him “FTCU,” and his reaction played directly into the now-popular song’s placement on the album. Minaj explained that she had told Cole she “didn’t like the chorus because, you know, you wouldn’t be able to play it on radio.”

“[Cole] was like, ‘Who cares?’” Minaj said. “He was like, ‘Man, f*ck the radio!’ And I was like, ‘You’re right! F*ck the radio!’ And it dawned on me. Why the f*ck — this is not something I’m putting out to be as a single. This is something that’s a part of a body of work. And I didn’t even wanna put out singles. I purposefully don’t have videos out because I want y’all to listen to the music.”

So, tour visuals will have to suffice. Minaj will begin her Pink Friday 2 World Tour on March 1. See the dates here.

Nicki Minaj’s Jaw Hit The Floor When She Heard Stephen Colbert’s Improvised Bars During Their ‘F The Colbert Up’ Rap Battle

Pink Friday 2 debuted at No. 1 on this week’s Billboard 200, so Nicki Minaj has an excuse to rest, but that is not the Nicki Minaj that Barbz have come to know and love.

On Wednesday, December 20, Minaj casually tossed out that perhaps Rihanna should “send her vocals” for “the full” Pink Friday 2 (Gag City Deluxe), and then she starred on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert later that night. Minaj explained the meaning of Gag City to a very confused Colbert before he encouraged her to freestyle.

“Honestly, y’all, I only had two seconds to make this up, so it’s only two lines,” Minaj told the in-studio audience. “But there’s a song on my called ‘F The Club Up’ [‘FTCU‘], and instead, I changed it to ‘F The Colbert Up,’ right? And so, the first the two lines, I changed it for him in Gag City, when he arrives. It goes, ‘High heels on for Stevie / If I marry Stevie, he ain’t ever gon’ leave me.”

Minaj repeated the bar, but this time, she challenged him to tack his own bars to “end the rap” with “the first thing that pops into your mind that rhymes.” Colbert jumped in with, “High heels or not, Nicki / You better hope you never meet my wife, Evie.”

Minaj’s mouth dropped in shock at Colbert’s mic drop, and I agree: The round goes to Colbert.

Elsewhere during Minaj’s visit, she excitedly looked forward to her 2024 Pink Friday 2 World Tour and shared how her three-year-old son, Papa Bear, “runs everything.”

Watch all three clips above and below.

Is Rihanna On Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday 2 (Gag City Deluxe)’ Album?

Nicki Minaj’s album Pink Friday 2 debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart dated December 23, and as per Billboard, Minaj has 14 songs currently charting on the Hot 100. One of them is “FTCU” at No. 42. But the more significant achievement is arguably that Rihanna liked the song enough to dance to it at her latest Fenty X Puma launch event on Monday, December 18.

Lil Nas X already shared his unofficial remix of “FTCU.” While there has not been any confirmation that Minaj plans to drop an “FTCU” remix featuring Lil Nas X, what about Rihanna?

Is Rihanna On Nicki Minaj’s Album ‘Pink Friday 2 (Gag City Deluxe)’?

On Wednesday evening, December 20, Minaj re-posted the above clip of Rihanna dancing to “FTCU.” She wrote atop the video on her Instagram Story, “The full gag city deluxe ain’t coming out until Queen Rih send her vocals. POW @badgirlriri [three heart hands emojis].”

Make of that what you will. Minaj’s 24-track Pink Friday 2 (Gag City Deluxe) is already available for download via her official website, but a Rihanna verse? In this economy? If Rihanna, who famously hasn’t released an album since 2016’s Anti, sees Minaj’s post and takes it seriously, Minaj would have no other choice but to retroactively add to Pink Friday 2 (Gag City Deluxe). Gag City would implode.

Minaj’s recently announced Pink Friday 2 World Tour — which she’s also calling “The #GagCity Tour” — is scheduled to kick off on March 1, 2024 in Oakland, California. See all of the dates here.

Will Lil Nas X Drop A Remix Of Nicki Minaj’s ‘FTCU?’

Nicki Minaj’s latest album, Pink Friday 2, has awakened the inner Barb in users online. With the “Cowgirl” rapper’s forthcoming world tour slated to kick off next year, supporters are trying to memorize the lyrics to the 24 songs and remixes shared on the body of work and Gag City deluxe version.

But fans believe, as she’s hinted, there is still more music to come. Although it doesn’t appear Minaj’s verse on “New Body” will make it to streaming services, supporters are turning their attention to another collaboration. Will Lil Nas X drop a remix of Nicki Minaj’s “FTCU” is now the question at the top of their minds. The answer is: maybe.

Today (December 15), the former Barb fan account manager took to his official X (formerly Twitter) to share a tease freestyle he recorded over the ATL Jacob-produced instrumental.

“We gone f*ck that club up / We gone throw some dubs up / If you broke, ain’t got no money, n**** shut the f*ck up / Shout out Miss Onika Tonya, that’s my mama, that’s on God / If you f*cking up the club, hit up Nas Maraj / I am in and in and out of town, ATL underground I stay in the South, been in Houston mo’ than Bobby Brown / F*ck this society, I do things in my way / It’s Onika and Lil Nassy, it’s a Pink-er Friday,” raps Lil Nas X.

Who knows if the pair will ever officially link, but for now, fans will hold on to the “FTCU” Nas Maraj mix for as long as they can.
