Rico Nasty Confronts Her ‘Intrusive’ Thoughts On Her New Single

Rico Nasty is not here for any intrusive thoughts. On her latest single, “Intrusive,” she calls out her haters, shouting, “you b*tches suck,” and proclaiming, “I’m your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper,” over a fast, drum-driven, punk-inspired beat.

The song’s video, directed by Marco Alexander, appears to have been made on the fly. The clip opens with a disclaimer, reading, “This music video was made with zero to no budget. Zero f*cks and zero expectation,” and thanks Alexander for “always being ready to shoot at any given moment, even if it’s one day before.”

In the video, Nasty sits in a chair, ready to be made-up by her glam team. As they are putting on make up, she runs out of her chair and into a neighborhood. One of the stops is a bodega, where she munches on Takis and a Spider-Man popsicle.

Nasty will play a series of festivals this summer and join Kehlani on the North America dates of their Blue Water Road Trip tour, which kicks off in July. During these slots, she expects the crowds to be rowdy, especially for the women in the mosh pits.

“[F]or the most part, I think my music is for the girls,” said Nasty in an interview with Billboard. “So a lot of times the guys kind of step back and are like, ‘Oh sh*t, look at these b*tches go!”

Diplo, Rico Nasty, Tinashe, And More Will Get Terrorized In Season 6 Of ‘The Eric Andre Show’

Eric Andre returns to terrorize more unsuspecting guests in the sixth season of his Adult Swim talk show The Eric Andre Show. For those unfamiliar, the show revolves around a late-night talk format that goes left almost as soon as the guests set foot on the stage. Think of a prank show like the Impractical Jokers breaking out in the middle of an episode of Seth Myers, only it’s Seth doing the pranks, and they range from absurdist shenanigans to set-destroying mayhem.

Naturally, you’ve got to have guests who bring a certain amount of chaotic energy themselves (or play everything straight to offset Andre’s antics), and the season six trailer has plenty of those. Blac Chyna, Cypress Hill, Diplo, Jaleel White, Jon Hamm, Lil Yachty, Meagan Good, Natasha Lyonne, Rico Nasty, and Tinashe are all billed in the press release, along with “a host of other celebrities so big we legally can’t use them in promotions.”

Even Andre himself was dumbfounded by the roster of people who apparently either haven’t watched the show before or are game to put up with his provocations to promote their new projects. “Expect more deranged pranks, fire, and chaos in Season 666 with a jam-packed schedule of celebrities I can’t believe agreed to this,” he joked.

Rico Nasty Teams Up With Fellow Rap Rebel Bktherula In The Horror-Themed ‘Vaderz’ Video

Just a few days after sharing the Coachella stage with Doja Cat — her biggest look yet — Rico Nasty pays the favor forward with her latest single, “Vaderz,” sharing her own spotlight with up-and-coming rapper Bktherula. Built on a pummeling bass drum track, “Vaderz” finds the two rebellious rappers yell-rapping their way through a pair of back-and-forth verses flexing all types of weaponry and denouncing phonies and haters.

In the year and four months since releasing her debut album, Nightmare Vacation, Rico’s had a few ups and downs — but way more ups than downs. Although she had to confront atrocious behavior from fans as she opened for Playboi Carti on his recent tour prompting a minor breakdown on Twitter, she received supportive messages from other women in hip-hop, including Megan Thee Stallion and Flo Milli.

Meanwhile, plenty of other opportunities have come her way since. She performed the Red Bull SoundClash in Chicago with Danny Brown, appeared on songs with Denzel Curry and Duke Deuce, and made her aforementioned appearance at Coachella to perform “Tia Tamera” alongside fellow rap oddball Doja Cat. It’s safe to say that things are looking up for the Uproxx cover star.

Rico Nasty Joined Doja Cat For A Supercharged Performance Of ‘Tia Tamera’ At Coachella 2022

By now, everyone is quite familiar with the scramble that Coachella organizers were facing when Kanye West opted to pull out of his headlining performance at the festival. After what can only be described as an extremely troubling reaction to his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, and her new relationship with Pete Davidson, the rapper finally stopped his incessant attacks on the pair, and is now reportedly taking so much needed time off to get himself right. For that, we all applaud him. But the Yeezy-sided gap in the lineup was not going to fill itself, and eventually, organizers nailed down The Weeknd to take on the role.

Abel Tesfaye is the perfect man for the job, but Doja Cat’s performance right before his headlining set had plenty of fans asking… why didn’t just she just take the final slot? Not only did Doja come on point, with multiple outfit changes, tons of incredible choreography, and even a collaboration with Taco Bell (might this be the one she warned us about?), but she also brought out fellow female rapper Rico Nasty to perform their early joint track “Tia Tamera.” And that song, mind you, is an ode to Doja’s own set of twins. Girl power, right? Check out footage of the pair performing together below.
