After months upon months of waiting for Cardi B to put out something, she delivered in a big way. Her loyal Bardigang were constantly flooding social media timelines with #WhereIsCardi and elaborate memes o’plenty. All of that begging and pleading worked as the gritty femcee from New York has just released her first single in about six months with “Like What (Freestyle).” The other interesting angle in all of this is her hubby. Offset directed the music video for “Like What,” and it is pulling in a lot of different reactions. The couple has dealt with a lot of internal struggles, but they appear to be on good standing.

They set the internet in a blaze a couple of months ago when they unfollowed each other on Instagram. However, since that breakup, they have slowly put the pieces back together. Clearly they are doing well considering how heavily involved the Georgia rapper has been with this single and convincing Cardi to drop her sophomore record. Lil Rod’s new lawsuit levying sexual assault accusations against Diddy, plus many more claims, is dominating social media discussion right now. Whether it’s folks who were named in this legal filing or regular Internet lurkers, it seems like everyone’s got something to say about it. Of course, this follows multiple previous lawsuits against Sean Combs; some of which resolved promptly, yet others remain as unanswered questions at press time. Most importantly, though, this specific suit includes a whole slew of allegations of wrongdoing, including supposed sexual activity with minors, actions without consent, and illegal crimes involving violence, harassment, and drug use.

Furthermore, Wack 100 thinks there’s much more to this story that what meets the eye, and advocated for the whole picture on social media. “PUFFY FRAMED @bluefasebabyy,” he captioned an Instagram post, tying Diddy’s situation to the many legal troubles of his client Blueface. “OK LETS SET IT OFF… THE #PUFFYDIDITCHALLENGE… WHAT DID PUFFY DO TO YOU? However, the former believes that she was among the first to really introduce the concept of female rap unity with her 2017 set at the Hot 97 Summer Jam. During that, she invited multiple other female rappers to come out and perform Queen Latifah’s classic hit “U.N.I.T.Y.” However, many fans didn’t really vibe with this statement, since the show was also heavily directed against Nicki herself. In addition, Queen did unity first, as Remy literally proved by paying homage during this performance.

Folks all over rap Twitter are talking about the shocking arrest of YSL’s defense lawyer in their RICO case, who reportedly got out on a $40K bond according to WSB-TV. Moreover, the court charged Nicole Fegan with participation in criminal street gang activity and criminal solicitation to commit the offense of evidence tampering. Of course, this is still under scrutiny at press time, and little is known about how this could potentially affect the current trial of Young Thug and others. It certainly doesn’t paint well in terms of the optics, though, as prosecutors will most likely try to turn this in their favor. But we’ve still yet to see whether there’s any truth behind these accusations in court.

To be clear, Fegan is not on Young Thug’s individual team, specifically, but she represented other YSL members as part of the collective’s full defense team. However, this is far from the only scandalous story of note when it comes to this case’s main players. This time around, it’s on the defensive end, but those pushing the case towards conviction also became embroiled in other accusations of wrongdoing. Fulton County, Georgia’s District Attorney Fani Willis, who is also prosecuting a case against Donald Trump, faces allegations of having an inappropriate affair with another prosecutor.

Nevertheless, Young Thug and YSL’s legal battle continues, and likely will not slow down due to these situations. It finally came out this weekend, and just like many fans anticipated, he provided a killer guest verse on the track “Back To Me.” Of course, this was one of the first previewed songs that we heard from this project, and it dates back to their first listening event for it. Over a crisp drum break and ethereal vocal samples, the Indiana MC flows wildly over it, displaying why he’s one of the best spitters in the game right now. Say what you will about Ye, his collaborators, and the ugly parts of this rollout, release, and platform, but talking strictly about the music, the effort here is undeniable.

What’s more is that fans on social media are really excited about finally getting this feature on Vultures after so long. “Freddie Gibbs deserves a lifetime supply of YZY products after giving a verse like that wtf,” one user expressed. “Freddie Gibbs took off on this Ye Album. In his rant about wanting to work with Ye and do a better job than his collaborators, JPEGMAFIA ended up taking shots at the Piñata lyricist. This is ironic because Peggy provided production on a couple of tracks on the new album, and all of them are stellar additions. At least this beef didn’t result in either artist delivering mediocre performances or contributions.

Kanye West Doesn’t Drop “Vultures”: Fans React

February 9 has rolled around, and to very few fans’ surprise, Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign did not drop Vultures as promised. Of course, they still held their album listening party at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, but after a couple of hours in the morning, there’s still no sign of the collab album. Moreover, this is one more loop around the cycle of promised release dates, snippets, song teases, listening parties, and eventual disappointment that a Ye rollout lives off of. As such, we’re back to not knowing anything about the project, and even less about the two volumes that are supposed to come out later in the year.

Furthermore, a lot of fans did have particular hope for the February 9 release date given some previous releases and movement. For example, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign released the dual music video for “Talking / Once Again” earlier this week, which uplifted expectations that Vultures was soon to follow. That wasn’t the case, but maybe they just used these visuals to put even more pressure on the drop and build it up some more. It’s like they gave themselves more excuses to have to drop the album eventually, and not give up on it.

In addition, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign also dropped a music video for the Havoc version of the project’s title track. Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign are dropping Volume 1 of Vultures on Friday. Overall, this is going to be a huge release. Although some are concerned that Ye will delay the album again, it seems like he is actually on track. There is a listening party at the United Center on Thursday, and there is a real release plan for Friday evening. Needless to say, it seems like the album is organized in a way that it never was before. Not to mention, a new song was released today while folks were drinking their morning coffee.

The song in question is called “Talking / Once Again” and is more of a double-track than anything else. Overall, the first half of the track features North West who has her own part. It comes across like an interlude of sorts that then transitions into “Once Again.” This track is kicked off by the likes of Ty Dolla who delivers some heavenly vocals. ScHoolboy Q Announces New Album “Blue Lips”: Release Date, Tracklist & Reactions

Well, it’s finally time. After four years of teasing, a lot of hard work, and an avalanche of fan anticipation, ScHoolboy Q has finally and officially announced his next studio album: Blue Lips. Moreover, he did so through a teaser trailer that shows a group of colleagues, on car and on foot, arriving at a street alley with the project’s tracklist written out on a building’s wall. By visiting the TDE rapper’s website, you can see a counter that lets you know exactly how long you will have to wait for this LP to drop. Fortunately, it’s not a long wait at all, and fans can pre-save the full-length on their preferred streaming service, preview merch, and sign up for updates on the site, too.

Furthermore, Blue Lips will release on March 1, and the teaser indicates that it will comprise of 17 tracks or so, if each title is a line long. If not, then it’ll be shorter, but either way, there are certain titles that really caught fans’ eyes. For example, ScHoolboy Q fans made a ruckus over the song “Blue Slides,” given the apparent reference to Mac Miller’s debut album Blue Slide Park from 2011. Die-hards are hoping that this includes a feature from the Philly MC given their close relationship, but the prospect of being let down if it doesn’t appear isn’t enough to dissuade listeners’ excitement for this project.
