UMG Boss Lucian Grainge Wants Court To Dismiss Him From Lil Rod’s Diddy Lawsuit

The lawsuit against Diddy from Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, the producer accusing him of sexual assault and sex trafficking, doesn’t just include allegations against the Bad Boy mogul. Moreover, two big record companies appeared as defendants in this suit due to alleged liability reasons: Motown and Universal Music Group (UMG), plus a notable individual. This is the head of the latter organization, Sir Lucian Grainge, who reportedly requested the court via his legal team (which is also acting on behalf of these companies) for dismissal from the case altogether. Attorneys for all three parties, referred to as “the UMG Defendants,” reportedly filed a motion for this dismissal on Wednesday (April 24) and asked a New York judge to throw out all claims concerning them with prejudice, according to court documents reportedly obtained by journalist Meghann Cuniff.

“All of the claims against Grainge, Motown and UMG Recordings (the ‘UMG Defendants’) in the [second amended complaint] are lacking in any legally cognizable basis,” lawyers supposedly argued in court docs concerning the Diddy case. “Every claim [premises] on the untenable strict liability theory that when one enters into a commercial contract, the payor under that contract becomes liable for anything that the recipient of payment does with the payment.

“There is no law underpinning such theory and the baseless ‘general business partnership’ allegation in the [second amended complaint] provides no support,” the legal team reportedly continued in their argument in dismissal from the Diddy case. “The claims against the UMG Defendants are entirely bereft of legal merit and should be dismissed with prejudice.” Lil Rod’s lawsuit claims that Lucian Grainge helped Sean Combs engage in his crimes, which Grainge’s attorneys allegedly denied outright. “Plaintiff and his counsel (Blackburn) have blown up a $50,000 claim for underpayment for production services into criminal accusations against Sean Combs and his associates,” they reportedly expressed.

Not content to pursue Combs alone, without any factual or legal basis, Plaintiff and his counsel (Blackburn) have also improperly accused Grainge, UMG Recordings and Motown (collectively, the UMG Defendants) of furthering, participating in, and helping to conceal the alleged conduct of Combs and his associates based on a knowingly false ‘general business partnership’ allegation coupled with the fabrication of a non-existent duty to supervise and control how Combs spent his own money,” they concluded. Diddy’s Lawyers Reportedly Plan On Bringing Up Rodney Jones’ Alleged Criminal History

According to new unconfirmed reports, Diddy’s legal team is taking new measures to combat the claims made by producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones against him. Moreover, for those unaware, Jones accused him of sexual assault and sex trafficking, explosive claims similar to others that came forward. However, these are only allegations and all of the accusations put forth have been unconfirmed by a court of law at press time and the validity of any evidence is also unconfirmed. This new report from the Daily Mail suggests that Sean Combs’ lawyers, in addition to denying all of Lil Rod’s claims in tandem with Combs standing by his claims of innocence, are supposedly pointing to Rod’s alleged criminal history.

Furthermore, the outlet reports that Diddy’s legal representation is allegedly pointing to a reckless homicide conviction that Rodney Jones received back in 2003. In addition, defense lawyers in this specific case are apparently alleging that Rod also faced multiple assault charges that eventually resulted in dismissal. Tyrone Blackburn, Jones’ attorney and a staunch proponent that Puff will be indicted soon, responded to these allegations via a Page Six statement. In it, he claims that this is merely an attempt from the defense team to distract from supposedly harsher upcoming consequences, and that Rod pleaded guilty to this because he didn’t have proper legal representation.

“I am sure you know that a charge is not a conviction,” Blackburn said of Diddy’s team’s claims. “So, running this story on behalf of [Diddy’s camp] is problematic and calls into question your integrity as a journalist. Mr. Jones’ July 2003 reckless homicide occurred when he was 17 years old. He was driving a vehicle with his cousin in the passenger seat. The police pulled him over, but he was afraid and drove off. It was pretty typical behavior for a young black boy in Chicago when pulled over by the police. As a result, he totaled the vehicle, and his cousin, who was his best friend, died.

“He has to live with the guilt of the death of his best friend and family member for the rest of his life,” he continued. “But don’t let that stop you from running this story and getting your clicks. [Diddy’s] legal team can do nothing to distract from the fact that he will be indicted soon.” One of the Bad Boy mogul’s attorney’s previously claimed to TMZ that Lil Rod is “a liar who filed a $30 billion lawsuit shamelessly looking for an undeserved payday” along with the team’s other denials of any and all wrongdoing. It’s also important to note that Blackburn received criticism in the past for supposedly questionable litigation tactics. For more news and the latest updates on Diddy, keep checking in with HNHH.

Diddy Trades Lawsuits: Ex-Nanny Drops Case, But Artist Sues Him For Unpaid Work

Diddy is in a very difficult position right now, albeit one that’s unconfirmed as far as how accountable and responsible he is for it. Moreover, whenever one lawsuit drops, another seems to emerge in its place, which is exactly what happened this month. Readers may remember a wrongful termination lawsuit against him from a former nanny, which at one point was among his big legal challenges before explosive sexual assault and sex trafficking allegations emerged against him. But Raven Wales-Warden dismissed her complaint with prejudice, which bars a potential refiling, on April 2 according to MyNewsLA, and it’s unclear if it was due to a settlement or not at press time.

However, Diddy also received a $200K lawsuit on Tuesday (April 9) from an artist who claims he never paid him for a scrapped art project amid his other accusations regarding sex-related crimes. According to court documents reportedly obtained by HipHopDX, the Southern District of New York got a complaint filing from Raven Production Management Group, LLC. The plaintiff’s story goes that Phantom Labs and Matthew Lupton commissioned him for a sculpture for an even Sean Combs was organizing for August of 2023. While he signed a contract and promised funding the very next day, the plaintiff claims, he was never paid for this work.

Furthermore, the plaintiff specifically alleges that he spent an additional $20,000 in project costs, and by the time the initiative fell in limbo due to the event’s postponement, the costs totaled up to $97,000. The artist wants Diddy to cough up “damages to Raven in an amount to be determined at trial, but no less than $200,000 for breach of contract [and] no less than $96,732.00 for fraudulent inducement.” In addition, the plaintiff seeks other damages. These include “for tortious interference with contract and business relations, deceptive trade practices, unjust enrichment, and quantum meruit.”

50 Cent & Yung Miami Go Back And Forth Over Diddy Sex Work Allegations

Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones’ lawsuit against Diddy has brought about several shocking accusations, including that the mogul allegedly paid Yung Miami monthly for sex work. She’s since denied this, but that hasn’t stopped 50 Cent from trolling her. Fif has been dissing Diddy throughout the entirety of his legal saga, so it’s not too surprising that he recently decided to take aim at the City Girl. Yesterday, he hopped on Instagram to share a clip from her appearance on The Jason Lee Show last year, in which she dubs herself a “whore.”

🫢It’s ok to be a whore just make sure your being over paid. See a Sucker, catch a Sucker, Suck a Sucker dry. You go girl LSW 😵LOL @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi,” he captioned the post. Yung Miami was quick to respond, arguing that her comment had been misunderstood.

“I think this got taken out of context, it’s a gay slur ‘what’s up whore’ is something my gay cousin always said to me,” she commented on his post. “It’s c**t it’s a slang that we said to each other that’s what I was trying to explain to Jason because he’s gay and he got what I was trying to say. I’m not a prostitute. I never sold 🐱a day in my life. & I hate how this is getting spun 😣.” 50 was clearly throwing shade. Seeing her comment, however, seemingly prompted a change of heart. He later followed up to clarify his feelings towards Yung Miami.

“I like at @yungmiami305,” he captioned a screenshot of her comment, “I don’t want to hurt her, or her feelings I just put her in BMF she cool. I think they was in a relationship but them other women LSW VIBES ! @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi.” What do you think of 50 Cent and Yung Miami going back and forth on Instagram? Akon Prays For Diddy Amid Federal Sex Trafficking Investigation

Last month two of Diddy’s mansions were raided by Homeland Security as part of a federal human trafficking investigation, and the shocking turn in the mogul’s ongoing legal battle continues to elicit responses from fans and peers. Aside from the raids, new details of Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones’ lawsuit against the Bad Boy Records founder have also gone public, including allegations of drug trafficking against Yung Miami, and more.

Recently, Akon weighed in on the debacle when TMZ caught him at an airport, claiming he’s hoping for the best. “I would like to say just pray for the man,” he began. “God knows best, whatever’s happening, God’s dealing with it and that’s the best thing to say. But it is very unfortunate that things in this business are always being exposed in some ways and I think things could be done differently. But I think this is a matter for God and he’s continue to deal with it how he’s been dealing with it.”

Akon Says “We All Have Issues”

“I think when you have platforms like this, this is the year of truth at the end of the day,” Akon continued. “Things are gonna be exposed, but powers exposed to who it’s exposed from… Everyone’s gonna have to answer for what we do on this earth. We all have issues, problems, skeletons, and then we also have rewards and achievements and everything of that nature. For the most part, I just believe that God is dealing with you you gotta let the process flow.”

Aside from his own legal issues, Diddy’s son Christian Combs has also been hit with a new lawsuit this week. A woman accuses him of sexually assaulting her on a yacht in 2022. His lawyer has since denied the allegations. What do you think of Akon’s response to Diddy’s ongoing legal drama? Do you agree with him? Diddy’s Ex-Bodyguard Claims His Secret Tapes Could Feature Politicians, Preachers, And Princes

Last month, two of Diddy’s mansions were raided by Homeland Security amid a federal sex trafficking investigation. While it remains unclear exactly what officials found in the mogul’s homes, social media users suspect it could include evidence incriminating some of his celebrity peers. According to his ex-bodyguard Gene Deal, there are several individuals from various walks of life who could have been caught on camera engaging in questionable activity.

“I don’t think it’s only celebrities gonna be shook,” Deal explained in a recent interview with The Art Of Dialogue. “He had politicians in there, he had princes in there, he also had a couple of preachers in there.”

Geal Deal Claims Diddy’s Entire Home Was Bugged

Deal went on to suggest that most of Diddy’s celebrity friends are choosing to keep quiet on the case for now because the Bad Boy Records founder’s entire house was equipped with cameras and audio recording devices. “I think the celebrities that may be worried is because of what Lil Rod said,” he described. “Lil Rod said in his affidavit that Diddy had every room taped and bugged. Can you imagine? He had every room taped and bugged, and they found little bugs and tape recorders… They found them in the house, bruh. So by them having those things in the house and people know there’s drugs and alcohol, there’s loose women, there’s loose men… All kinds of cr*zy sh*t. They’re just wondering who or when they’re gonna let this stuff be known.”

What do you think of Diddy’s ex-bodyguard Gene Deal claiming his secret tapes could feature politicians, princes, and more? What about him claiming that every room in the mogul’s house was bugged and taped? Are you surprised or not? Diddy & Lil Rod Lawsuit: Rodney Jones’ Lawyer Under Scrutiny For Past Litigation Concerns

Rodney Jones, also known as Lil Rod, launched a staggering $30 million lawsuit against Diddy for sexual assault and sex trafficking claims with the help of lawyer Tyrone Blackburn. However, it seems like they may be in for more trouble than they thought. Moreover, Judge Denise Cote referred Blackburn to the Southern District of New York’s Grievances Committee on Wednesday (April 3), according to court documents obtained by AllHipHop. In them, he’s accused of “disturbing” past litigation, including deliberately salacious lawsuits in Federal Court. Judge Cote believes there’s a pattern in the attorney’s behavior that demonstrates he files cases to leverage the Federal Court process in his favor.

Specifically, Judge Cote accused Diddy’s accuser’s lawyer of purposefully attracting media attention to his cases, defaming defendants with unfounded and scandalous claims, and wriggling a rapid settlement out of them. Similar and recent accusations also emerged against lawyers Liane Fisher and Michael J. Taubenfeldckburn. In addition, she alleged that Blackburn did not properly file cases in their appropriate districts and brought up five instances of his continued action despite this lack of due diligence. Apparently, his case did not fall within Rule 11 obligations (which ensures that accusations are well-founded), something the Court is now very troubled with.

“A reasonable inference from Blackburn’s pattern of behavior is that he improperly files cases in federal court to garner media attention, embarrass defendants with salacious allegations, and pressure defendants to settle quickly,” Judge Cote wrote of Diddy’s prosecutor. “Regardless of Blackburn’s intentions, his actions in this and prior cases indicate a repeated failure to meet his Rule 11 obligations.” UMG CEO Sir Lucian Grainge also reportedly considered to sanction Blackburn for Rule 11 violations, and he’s a defendant in the Sean Combs lawsuit. Depending on what the Grievance Committee concludes, this judicial admonishment could impact other high-profile cases of his.

For example, Blackburn also sued Nicki Minaj, Kenneth Petty, T.I., Tiny, and more. As such, this could have pretty hefty consequences for his legal career. Nevertheless, the claims against (or for) the Bad Boy executive remain officially uncharged, unconfirmed, but nonetheless rightfully scrutinized under law enforcement. Diddy Raids Lead Several Companies To Ramp Up Documentary Production Amid Federal Investigation: Report

Diddy’s legal drama only continues to heat up, reaching a peak last month when Homeland Security raided two of the mogul’s mansions as part of a federal sex trafficking investigation. He’s yet to be charged with anything in relation to the probe. He’s already been hit with several damning allegations, however, in a slurry of sexual assault lawsuits spearheaded by his ex Cassie in November. Fans and critics alike are more anxious than ever to learn what the Bad Boy Records founder’s been up to behind closed doors, and continue to air their opinions online.

Fortunately for those eager to get a closer look at the saga, it’s reported that multiple companies are in the process of breaking down Diddy’s legal issues in various documentaries. Industry sources told TMZ earlier this week that production ramped up after the aforementioned raids. The highly publicized search got only more eyes on the debacle.

The outlet claims that at least five companies have Diddy docs in the works. Reportedly, they’ve been in talks with several individuals who’ve worked with him previously. Former backup dancers, Bad Boy executives, Making the Band producers, security guards, and more have reportedly been contacted. Aubrey O’Day, who’s been a vocal critic of Puff for years, and Cassie have also reportedly gotten calls about interviews.

Sources say that one of the companies working on a film is ABC News Studios for Hulu. The others are said to be UK-based production companies. Christian Combs Accused Of Sexually Assaulting & Drugging Woman, New Lawsuit Alleges

Christian “King” Combs is facing accusations of sexually assaulting and drugging a woman in a new lawsuit that the alleged victim will file soon, according to attorney Tyrone Blackburn. No further details on the victim are available. Blackburn is also representing the producer, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, who is one of several alleged victims suing Combs’ father, Diddy, for sexual assault and more. The lawsuit comes after Christian remarked, “Stop with the [cap emoji],” on his Instagram Story, last week.

At the time, his fans assumed the message was in response to Homeland Security raiding the family’s properties in Los Angeles and Miami. Police detained both Christian and his older brother, Justin, as they made their way through the home. They later released the two with no charges. Diddy was flying from California to the Caribbean.

Diddy’s attorney, Aaron Dyer, labeled the raids a “gross overuse of military-level force.” He also clarified in a statement: “Mr. Combs was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities. Despite media speculation, neither Mr. Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested nor has their ability to travel been restricted in any way.”

While Christian appears to have yet to address the lawsuit officially, Diddy’s legal team previously accused Jones of reckless “name-dropping” and claimed to have “overwhelming, indisputable proof that his claims are complete lies.” In a statement, they added: “Our attempts to share this proof with Mr. Jones’ attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, have been ignored, as Mr. Blackburn refuses to return our calls. We will address these outlandish allegations in court and take all appropriate action against those who make them.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Christian Combs and Diddy on HotNewHipHop.

50 Cent Puts Daphne Joy On Blast Following Rape & Abuse Allegations

Earlier this week, it was revealed that the mother of 50 Cent’s son Sire, Daphne Joy, is named in Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones’ lawsuit against Diddy. He accuses the actress of accepting money from the Bad Boy Records mogul monthly in exchange for sex work, which she denies. As the revelation started to gain traction online, 50 Cent was quick to weigh in, putting her on blast in various social media posts. He’s even now seeking sole custody of their 12-year-old.

Daphne Joy addressed the allegations, and Fif’s response to them, in a now-deleted Instagram Story last night. In her post, she revealed that she plans to take legal action against Lil Rod for his claims. She also slammed her ex for clowning her on social media. According to Joy, instead of focusing on what she’s accused of, they should focus on 50 Cent’s alleged crimes.

All the work we do counts, even you little sex workers,” he captioned one Instagram post today. “Whistle while you work guys, that’s my theme for today.
