Earlier this week, it was revealed that the mother of 50 Cent’s son Sire, Daphne Joy, is named in Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones’ lawsuit against Diddy. He accuses the actress of accepting money from the Bad Boy Records mogul monthly in exchange for sex work, which she denies. As the revelation started to gain traction online, 50 Cent was quick to weigh in, putting her on blast in various social media posts. He’s even now seeking sole custody of their 12-year-old.

Daphne Joy addressed the allegations, and Fif’s response to them, in a now-deleted Instagram Story last night. In her post, she revealed that she plans to take legal action against Lil Rod for his claims. She also slammed her ex for clowning her on social media. According to Joy, instead of focusing on what she’s accused of, they should focus on 50 Cent’s alleged crimes.

All the work we do counts, even you little sex workers,” he captioned one Instagram post today. “Whistle while you work guys, that’s my theme for today. I made all this money and I’m practicing abstinence, I don’t want a little sex worker,” he captioned another recent post.

However, the 44-year-old has been actively working in the music industry since she was a teenager in the ‘90s. Over the years, she rose through the ranks and came to command much respect and admiration, eventually becoming the CEO of the renowned Motown Records.

However, Habtemariam’s name is now linked to Diddy’s infamous case. As the music mogul remains under investigation following the wave of allegations made against him by Rodney Jones, it’s anyone’s guess how the former Motown CEO is involved. Nonetheless, in an amended complaint filed to the court, Ethiopia Habtemariam reportedly agreed to testify in Jones’ lawsuit about Diddy’s The Love Album: Off The Grid. Court documents reveal that Habtemariam entered an agreement with Jones to “dismiss all claims” against the Motown CEO in the suit “without prejudice,” NBC reports. Background And Start In The Music Industry

Born on September 24, 1979, Ethiopia Habtemariam is an Ethiopian-American businesswoman and music executive. She was born in Berkeley, California, where she spent her early years and developed an interest in pursuing a career in the music industry. Not one to let her dreams die, she decided to act upon this desire, and very early too.

At the age of 14 in 1994, Habtemariam bagged a coveted internship at the renowned LaFace Records. That marked the beginning of her illustrious career in the music industry. While interning at LaFace, then-16-year-old Habtemariam wrote a letter to Sylvia Rhone who was the CEO of Elektra Records at the time. In the letter, the aspiring music executive expressed her awe and admiration for Rhone, a Black woman in such a powerful position. Several years down the line, Ethiopia Habtemariam would come to achieve a similar feat herself.

The Rise Of Ethiopia Habtemariam

By the end of her four-year internship at LaFace Records, Habtemariam had gained considerable knowledge and experience. Soon after, she began working with Universal Music Group. In subsequent years, she grew and maintained a steady upward trajectory. Eventually, in 2011, Motown Records hired and named Ethiopia Habtemariam as its Senior Vice President. In 2014, she was promoted to President of Motown Records, before topping it all off with a promotion to CEO in 2021.

On November 29, 2022, however, she announced that she would be leaving Motown Records after serving as President for eight years. For her impact and undeniable contributions, Habtemariam made it into Billboard’s 30 Under 30, and 40 Under 40 lists. Additionally, in 2023, she made it into the publication’s Power 100 list as well. Before leaving Motown Records, she helped bring Diddy onto the label for a one-album deal, which she’s willing to testify about in Lil Rod’s lawsuit.

The latest accusations come after Homeland Security officers raided Diddy’s properties in Los Angeles and Miami, earlier this week. Diddy’s attorney, Aaron Dyer, addressed the situation in a statement the following day. “Yesterday, there was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs’ residences,” he explained. “There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated. Mr. Combs was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities. Despite media speculation, neither Mr. Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested nor has their ability to travel been restricted in any way.” Yung Miami reacted to fans asking for her whereabouts on Twitter afterward. “Right here what’s up?” she wrote.

“I would go to the party and leave early,” he said. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what goes on after hours but I wasn’t trying to find out. I know my place.” He also claimed French Montana sampled his song “I Wanna Rock” without permission and that Diddy invited him to appear in the “Pop That” music video in response.

The raids on Diddy’s properties were carried out by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York, HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and local law enforcement. They are related to an investigation into sex trafficking in the Southern District of New York. Diddy was reportedly aboard a flight from California to Antigua at the time. Diddy’s L.A. & Miami Homes Raided By Feds Over Sex Trafficking Allegations: Report

Federal law enforcement agents reportedly raided Diddy’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami on Monday as a part of an investigation into the numerous sex trafficking allegations he’s faced in recent months. TMZ cites a police source that says the case is based out of the Southern District of New York. FOX 11 recorded aerial footage of the incident that is circulating on social media. In that footage, Diddy’s sons Justin and King Combs appear to be in handcuffs. It’s unclear whether Diddy was on the premises.

In a statement provided to TMZ, a Homeland Security Investigations representative explained: “Earlier today, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners. We will provide further information as it becomes available.”

According to new legal documents obtained by AllHipHop, musician Rodney Jones Jr. (also known as Lil Rod) recently claimed that Diddy is harassing this family. Moreover, this is due to the lengthy sexual assault lawsuit that the former hit the latter with earlier this year, and Rod claims Puff has gone to great lengths to silence his story. This includes fabricating and pushing defamatory TMZ stories about Rodney through mediators and sending associates to threaten and intimidate his eight-year-old daughter, his child’s mother, and his past marital partners. In addition, he also accused the Bad Boy mogul of trying to make him swap his representative in court for one that is closer to the executive and businessman’s camp.

Furthermore, it’s important to note that these new claims, and all other accusations against Diddy, remain unconfirmed and speculative. While none of these lawsuits have been resolved, excluding the Cassie settlement and other legal moves, Lil Rod still maintains that he, his family, and his associates experienced fear with these alleged threats and pressure tactics, prompting them to file a police report. But that’s not all Rodney Jones Jr. did in this new legal move. He also levied complaints with the state bars of California, New Jersey, and New York concerning Sean Combs.

Also, Lil Rod reportedly dropped all charges against Ethiopia Habtemariam, former Motown CEO, based on a March 21 agreement. Similarly, he also dismissed his claims against Chalice Recording Studio “without prejudice,” court docs read. This leaves the door open for a refiling around these accusations in the studio’s home of Los Angeles. As for the other folks involved in this lawsuit against Diddy, they remain in orbit and could face legal scrutiny and conviction.

E.Ness is the latest celebrity to speak out about the wave of sexual assault accusations against Diddy, which also involve various other alleged crimes. Moreover, he’s taking the side of folks who think this is all fake and a ploy to punish him based on false claims. For those unaware, Ness was part of Da Band, the Bad Boy rap group whose creation and career was chronicled in the MTV reality series Making The Band 2. This defense from a label mate also adds onto Sean Combs’ own denials, but their voices are quite small in the wider discourse on these allegations.

“It’s a smear campaign,” E.Ness claimed concerning the Diddy lawsuits during an interview with Directed BY CEO Nafees on YouTube. “That’s what’s happening with Puff. It’s a smear campaign. And what they usually do is they go to your personal habits. They start attacking your personal habits, your girlfriends, your exes. Then they try to find something to attack you through those vessels.” He also alleged that this is the “classic rollout” that they gave other alleged celebrity abusers like R. Kelly, Michael Jackson, Mike Tyson, and Bill Cosby.

However, despite all this speculation and conflicting narratives, Diddy has popped out at least a few times for the public eye beyond just his defenses of himself. Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s Rolling Loud L.A. set this weekend probably wasn’t what many fans expected for a couple of reasons. For one, it was more akin to their VULTURES listening parties than it was to a traditional festival performance, as they didn’t really “perform” anything. Not only that, but another element that surprised a lot of folks is something they found out a couple of days after it went down, and relating to an even larger story in pop culture right now. From what TMZ footage indicates, it seems like Diddy went to this VULTURES event with his family and crew, as footage also emerged of his twin daughters attending Nicki Minaj’s set.

Furthermore, this is interesting considering they are both in controversial, albeit very different, situations when it comes to their public image. Ye is still dealing with a lot of fallout from his antisemitism and the breakdown and volatility of his personal relationships, whereas Diddy faces multiple massive lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault and much more. As such, a lot of people think that they have more reason to link up now. After all, they’ve both spoken on the importance of solidarity and unity, although these circumstances make that sentiment hard to swallow.

For those unaware, their last public interaction concerned Ye’s scandalous Drink Champs interview in which he expressed antisemitic and anti-BLM views. It notably got a lot of backlash for downplaying and spreading misinformation about the death of George Floyd, and folks called Diddy out for letting it air in the first place. While Revolt took it down eventually, this was a very odd situation given that the two had beefed over these controversial views before.
