Gunna Reacts To His Feature On Future’s Project Being Axed

Heading into this weekend, Future had most of the hip-hop community’s ears due to his MIXTAPE PLUTO project arriving. It’s here as of yesterday, September 20, and it’s his third release of 2024. With a title such as this one, fans were looking forward to hearing that sort of Future again. So far, a lot of listeners are pretty pleased with the results. However, there are some out there who a little let down. Leading up to it, there was some real hope that Future would include the contributions of Gunna and Travis Scott.

“SOUTH OF FRANCE” (Travis) and “TOLD MY” (Gunna) were the respective cuts to have said guest appearances. But for whatever reason, the 17-song LP is feature-less. Some were respecting the decision, feeling that he was tailoring this project to his OG fans or just didn’t feel they were necessary enough. But as we said, there is quite a bit of frustration on the internet. “Future album got no features and he think we listening i’m f***ing crying”, one X user says.

So far, Travis Scott has not reacted to this development. Given that they were just working on a handful of songs off of WE DON’T TRUST YOU, things are most likely solid there. However, Gunna is seemingly addressing it after 24 hours, but he doesn’t seem as affected by it as people may try and make it out to be. “It’s not personal it’s just business”, he wrote on an IG story according to a repost from DJ Akademiks. For a little while, there relationship has been a little rocky perhaps due to the Young Thug and YSL trial debacle. But if Gunna is being candid and is actually referring to the Future feature, things look to be on the up and up.

Charlamagne Tha God Scrutinizes Diddy’s Inner Circle Amid Indictment

The news of Diddy’s indictment, arrest, and denials of bond in court have been pretty chaotic to witness, as everyone is reading these documents and commenting on all these accusations. Most of them (except for his recorded abuse of Cassie in a hotel room in 2016) remain allegations and not confirmed crimes. We have to wait for a due legal process to come to any conclusions. Still, many folks wonder what the Bad Boy mogul’s inner circle must have been like amid all this, regardless of whether their debauchery was criminal. For example, Charlamagne Tha God recently posited on the latest episode of The Breakfast Club that Sean Combs probably did not have many true friends in his circle that warned him about these alleged crimes, if they did happen. Still, his comments also apply to people being able to check his hedonism.

“Yeah, [I don’t see this going well for Diddy whatsoever] neither,” Charlamagne Tha God expressed on The Breakfast Club. “I just really can’t wrap my mind around someone having so much to lose and moving the way he was moving. It just makes me think that man doesn’t have not one single solitary friend around him. Because if you’re worth a billion dollars, you got kids, you got all these employees, all you need is one person that cares about you.

Variety of booty. Women booty. Men booty. Other booty. In the indictment, it says ‘women and others.’ 72 gender identities, Diddy seems like he wanted to try every flavor. What about the booty?

And being in that cell, it’s going to be the first time in probably forever that he’s forced to sit still and get sober. Reality is going to hit him hard. Shyne Breaks Silence On Diddy Arrest

Former Bad Boy artist (and current Leader of the Opposition in Belize’s House of Representatives) Shyne has finally spoken out about Diddy’s arrest. Moreover, he made some statements to the press about their complicated history together, given that Sean Combs was part of the reason why he went to jail in 1999 for a club shooting. However, it seems like the politician is separating their relationship from his thoughts on his current situation.

“When I was an 18-year-old kid just wanting to do nothing other than make my mother proud and make Belize proud and do what all of us want to do: be recognized for our talent and take over the world, I was defending him and he turned around and called witnesses to testify against me,” Shyne expressed during a press interview. “He pretty much sent me to prison. So that is the context by which you must always describe that relationship. Yes, I forgave. I moved on. But let us not pretend.

“I went to do a charity event for impoverished youth in London,” Shyne continued about Diddy. “So let us not lose sight of what the cold, hard facts are. This was not someone who I vacationed with and who he and I enjoyed this great, intimate relationship of brotherhood. This is someone who destroyed my life and who I forgave and who I moved on for the better interest of Belize. Because he was in a position at that time to give scholarships and to maybe invest.

“I would not deny attempting to bring the investment to Belize and to bring the contributions to education to Belize,” Shyne concluded about reconciling with Diddy. “But don’t distort it as if he and I were [close]. This is someone that destroyed my l i fe. But do I take any joy or any satisfaction with what he is going through? Absolutely not. I am different than, maybe, other people. No one needs to fail for me to succeed. No one needs to suffer. […] Oh, my goodness. I have nothing to do with Sean Combs’ personal life, no interaction of that level. DJ Akademiks Responds To Viral Clip About Drake Using Him

Throughout DJ Akademiks’ career, the media personality and hip-hop journalist has been made fun of for his fondness for Drake. Anytime that he posts about the latter, there’s always people in his comments sections cracking jokes or calling out his bias. However, Akademiks has never been one to deny how much he respects Drizzy’s musical talents. For example, a lot of you may remember his unforgettable reaction to when he found out he was on Travis Scott’s “SICKO MODE” track. That one clip alone should let you know that he isn’t going to hide his love for Drake’s music. So, it’s no surprise that he was making his feelings crystal clear in yet another viral clip.

In a recent live stream, Ak had on a guest and during their one-on-one conversation the former’s relationship with the Canadian rapper became the focus. The caller, for lack of a better a term, tried to convince him that Drake really doesn’t mess with him like that. Essentially, he feels that Ak is just a “billboard” for anything related to the MC. Throughout that video footage, the media pundit is pretty quiet throughout it, and doing what the internet does best, trolls painted him as being sad that Drake doesn’t really mess with him like that.

But as we said, the top-rated reporter isn’t going to hide behind anything. So, on a more recent stream, Akademiks responded and reacted to the clip. Overall, he feels that outsiders are trying to impose what they feel should be the connection between him and Drake. Throughout his response, he says that he’s not expecting, nor does he need anything from any artist that he as ties to or covers closely. Akademiks even says that he’s getting money from the labels that the rappers are on for giving their talents exposure. It’s one of the reasons why he doesn’t need anything from the hitmaker. He feels that Drake treats him well as a fan and as a person, but they aren’t as tight as others would suggest. But again, that’s fine by him.

He was getting it in. It’s just that it wasn’t for everybody to know. And evidently, you know, he was on Instagram Live and didn’t know. As a result, although no video was seen – thank the Good Lord – we heard quite a bit. We heard quite a bit. Initially, he thought his stuff was hacked and then, obviously, he came out and told what transpired. And that was that.

“From that point forward, you’ve had people speculating as to whether or not was he gon’ get fired, was he going to get suspended, et cetera, et cetera,” Stephen A Smith continued. “Again, he works on First Take. I’m the executive producer for First Take. So if something was gon’ happen to him with regards to ESPN, I’d be one of the first to know. Let me be the first to say that Shannon Sharpe committed no crime. It wasn’t some sex tape that he meant for everybody to hear. That’s not how he rose. I [got] to know him personally. NLE Choppa Is Livid Over Complex’s Best Rappers In Their 20s List

Complex recently put out yet another hotly debated list of the 20 best rappers in their 20s right now, and the hot takes and backlash flowed like boiling water. However, for all the outraged fan reactions and discussions, it seems like no one took this list more personally and seriously than NLE Choppa. He recently took to social media to vent about his exclusion from the list, although he made it clear that he did not mean to disrespect anyone on it or discredit their deservedness. The Memphis native flaunted about his success at a very, very young age, and posited that there are very few people in his space that are reaching the highs that he is.

Of course, whether or not you agree is up to you, but NLE Choppa feels like the publication should’ve made a 21 best rappers list as to not boot him off, since he feels as deserving of praise as his peers. Still, we doubt that this will slow him down in any way. The 21-year-old has done a great job of battling bigots who are mad at his support of the LGBTQIA+ community. Some queer-baiting accusations followed, but that’s just part of the industry promo machine.

Elsewhere during the clip above, NLE Choppa also hinted at big things coming from him in October once he wraps up this current era. For those unaware, his latest contribution to it is “SLUT ME OUT 3” with Carey Washington. Not only does the track provide a sonic switch-up from previous installments, but it’s also somehow dirtier than ever. We’ll see whether or not these next releases follow these footsteps, go back to tried and true formulas, or bring something else entirely to the table as a new approach.

We’re sure that many rappers in their 20s probably feel like NLE Choppa to a certain degree. But he has a unique penchant for boldly standing tall against criticism. Playboi Carti and Adin Ross have a pretty complicated relationship these days. This is because of their disastrous livestream from back in February that allegedly cost the streamer $2 million for just about ten minutes of very limited conversation with the Atlanta creative. Since then, Ross hasn’t been very pro-Carti. That being said, feelings change over time, and the new hype behind his I AM MUSIC album rollout could change this dynamic somewhat. Moreover, the Kick giant’s reaction to the new track “ALL RED” shows that he can separate his personal experiences with the artist from his enjoyment of the music itself.

However, “ALL RED” also resulted in some legitimate confusion, albeit mostly critical comparisons. Fans couldn’t tell whether or not this was a new Playboi Carti song or a new Future track, pointing out the vocal and flow similarities between both rappers. Carti’s usually someone who pulls from his own unique arsenal of voices, but this deep-voiced experimentation might be his riskiest vocal move yet. Either way, there are plenty of other fans who love this style and how it’s evolved from early displays like “FE!N.” Actually, it’s wild to think how little time it took for this to become a trademark sound in the King Vamp catalog.

Nevertheless, if you still feel like he sounds like Future, we understand. Regardless, Adin Ross’ reaction to “ALL RED” shows that things don’t always have to stay personal, resulting in mutual respect. That’s still a very early story in development, so keep your eyes peeled for a more official or conclusive update. Nevertheless, Tekashi seemed to react to this on his Instagram Story on Friday (September 13), typing a whole lot of crying-laughing emojis in his post.

However, anyone familiar with 6ix9ine’s legal issues should know that he doesn’t have much to laugh about at the end of the day. After all, there’s reportedly an international warrant out for his arrest from the Dominican Republic, per local outlet El Diario. If you didn’t hear, this stems from an October 2023 arrest over alleged assault of two producers in the country, which the New York MC is supposedly “in rebellion” against. We haven’t gotten any updates on that at press time, so we’ll see how much of a headache it will be.

As for 6ix9ine’s rivalry with Lil Tjay, this indictment news (if true) puts the former at an advantage. But it’s only a technicality, because the latter took a pretty big step to outwardly disrespect Tekashi and keep things personal and specifically directed at each other. Tjay gave the “GUMMO” artist’s ex-girlfriend a chain amid their pretty contentious break-up and public falling out. Even though it’s easy to laugh at legal trouble from beyond the screen, the one-on-one aspect remains in question.

Elsewhere, 6ix9ine definitely channeled these feelings into his new diss song against his ex, Yailín La Más Viral. We know that he switches up his sound and approach in the limelight every once in a while, so we wonder how much this phase will last. Swift’s post prompted a response from Elon Musk, who took the opportunity to shoot his shot. “Fine, Taylor, you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life,” he said. For obvious reasons, most social media users found his Tweet extremely creepy, including Azealia Banks.
