In fact, you probably saw her dance to Fast Like Youngstaz’s (F.L.Y.) 2009 hit with Ea$ton, “Swag Surfin’,” an HBCU and sports staple that sparked debate over who should get credit for its resurgence: its dancers or its creators? “My initial reaction to Taylor Swift swag surfin’ was I thought it was dope,” group member Mook told TMZ. “I automatically knew it was going to be a good look because of who she is, what she’s got going on.

“Our streams across all platforms [are] up 700%,” Mook continued. “Our YouTube numbers went up. We gained 20,000 subscribers in like two weeks. So everything is up. It’s just been a dope thing to watch everything unfold so quickly.” Not only that, but he also suggested this is the biggest moment the song’s ever had in terms of growth, and proposed and endorsed the idea of Taylor Swift remixing it with a rap verse. Some people already don’t like the league pushing her at every chance they get, and this was even more of a red flag for fans.

Moreover, on social media sites like Twitter, folks lamented this prospect, as they see it as appropriation or a cheap way to capitalize on another artist’s work. Flip is far from the first rapper to co-sign Teezo during the last year. He’s appeared on Travis Scott’s fourth album, Utopia, as well as Drake’s eighth album, For All The Dogs. Of Teezo’s debut project, Drake had high praise. “Usually it’s a cut throat cryptic caption for the ones that turned on the gang members but tonight I just heard some of the best music ever so I am happy and I will spare you little birdies thanks to @teezotouchdown,” Drake wrote on social media. Teezo Touchdown’s had quite the ascent in the past few years but he’s only getting started. He earned critical praise through a string of features over the years alongside heavy hitters like Tyler, The Creator and Chance The Rapper. However, his latest appearance on Travis Scott’s Utopia appears to set the stage for his highly-anticipated debut album. Titled how do you sleep at night?, the project is officially due out on Sept. 8th and it seems like Drake got an exclusive sneak peak.

The Boy hit the ‘Gram to provide Teezo Touchdown with a massive co-sign after hearing his new album. Acknowledging the often cryptic captions that accompany his recent Instagram posts, Drake put the grim message aside to praise Teezo’s project. “Usually it’s a cut throat cryptic caption for the ones that turned on the gang members but tonight I just heard some of the best music ever so I am happy and I will spare you little birdies thanks to @teezotouchdown,” he wrote.

Drake Praises Teezo Touchdown

At this point, Teezo Touchdown hasn’t revealed a ton of information surrounding the project but considering the amount of hype surrounding his name in recent years, it seems likely that we might see a few high-profile names attached to the tracklist. Of course, it’s unclear if Drake will be among those who land on the project or if Teezo will appear on For All The Dogs but clearly, there is a mutual respect between the two artists.

Drake’s currently on the It’s All A Blur tour alongside 21 Savage, which recently closed out its second out of four nights at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. Drake’s IG Story Leaves Fans Suspecting A Possible Yeat Collab

Drake recently took to his Instagram to co-sign another artist. He posted a screenshot from California-born rapper Yeat’s new music video, leading some fans to speculate. “Dialed In,” he wrote over the photo. Social media users appear to think that Drake was hinting at an upcoming collab with him, though it hasn’t been confirmed. Yeat has previously teased a possible collaboration with the Canadian, so the idea wouldn’t be too far fetched. The screenshot was taken from Yeat’s new “bigger thën everything” music video, which Lyrical Lemonade dropped yesterday.

“We’re going to have some sh*t on the way,” Yeat told Complex at the end of last year. “In the future. Not yet. I want to make it in-person with him. I don’t want to be sending sh*t.” He also famously attended Drake’s release party for Certified Lover Boy. “It was late as f*ck at night and Zack [Bia] was like, ‘Yo, Drake said let’s go to Houston,’ and I was like, f*ck it,” he told the outlet. “So we bought a flight instantly. We got there in like three hours. We were there for the album release party, and then left three hours later. Sh*t was fire.”

Drake Co-Signs “bigger then everything”

Though it’s very possible that Drake was simply showing support for his fellow artist, this isn’t the first time fans thought they saw a collab on the horizon. Earlier this summer, Yeat started sharing some cowboy-related imagery on social media, and Drake followed suit. He posted a photo of a rack of cowboy boots on his Instagram Story, making fans think that the duo could have something in the works.

Drake’s been making his way around the U.S. and Canada on his “It’s All A Blur” tour alongside 21 Savage recently. He’s been making headlines for celebrity guests, concertgoers’ antics, and more. He’s also just ahead of his next release, a new album called For All The Dogs.

redveil Recalls His Feelings After Tyler, The Creator Cosign

redveil is just 19 years old and is already becoming one of the most acclaimed rappers out there. Like many around his age, his music is heavily influenced by various members of the Odd Future collective. In a recent chat with HipHopDX, redveil looked back on what it felt like to receive a cosign from Odd Future leader Tyler, The Creator. “I still kind of reflect on that now. “It happened like really, really early … that was the first year when people even started to listen to my music, like at all,” redveil explains.

Back in 2020, Tyler, The Creator shared redveil’s song “drown” on his Instagram page. At the time the Maryland rapper was just 16 years old. “To be able to like catch the attention of somebody that’s that high up in terms of inspiration … it still feels like it didn’t happen,”redveil explains. He goes on to call the experience one of the biggest signs that he should keep making music. Later on in the interview he called Tyler’s 2017 album Flower Boy his favorite of all the rappers works.

redveil Looks Back On Getting Love From Tyler

Tyler is far from the only rapper to give redveil his flowers. Earlier this year he served as the lone feature on a collaborative album from two of the underground’s most acclaimed artists Danny Brown and JPEGMAFIA. His appearance on the song “kingdom hearts key” is the lone feature of the pair’s new album SCARING THE HOES. Danny Brown extended his admiration for the rapper even further when he invited him onto his podcast last month. JPGEMAFIA on the other hand extended the pairs relationship by appearing on redveil’s new EP playing w/ fire earlier this year.

Tyler, The Creator has been in the minds of fans recently as well. In a recent podcast appearance, he lashed out at “rap twitter.” He specifically called out how much he hated seeing Top 5 Rapper lists, a staple for hip-hop fans online. Fat Joe has become the recent artist to pour out support for Rick Ross following his successful car show. The show was attended by a number of high-profile rappers including Tyler, The Creator, Diddy, and 2 Chainz. Just a few days ago Ross announced the winners of some prized chains that were given away during the event. Fat Joe had some praise for the event and Rick Ross himself afterward. In a video posted to Instagram, he shouted out the hustle Ross showed in turning his own home into a multi-million dollar event.

“He created something out of nothing that’s in his own house” Joe says in a video on his Instagram. “He makes millions of dollars once a year” he adds. To be clear, those numbers are an estimation on Joe’s part. It follows an estimation that “millions” of people showed up to the event, which is likely an exaggeration. “All I’m really looking at is the money” Fat Joe’s video concludes. It’s unclear exactly how much Ross ultimately made but given how much discussion has surrounded the event.

One of the most talked about moments from the show came when an uninvited guest parachuted into it. His response to the fan’s bold move went viral as fans were shocked at how positive he was. He was also praised by local authorities for how the event was handled. Fat Joe isn’t even the only celebrity recently to go out of his way to praise Ross publicly. Just a few days ago in an Instagram video, Diddy shouted out Rick Ross for many of the same reasons. Diddy gave the Florida rapper his flowers in a new video on his Instagram story. In the short clip, Diddy highlights Ross’ come-up as well as his dedication and drive. It culminates in Diddy calling him a “a hustling motherf****r,” albeit in an endearing way. Rick Ross reposted the clip onto his own Instagram story shortly after it was made.

Diddy and Rick Ross have collaborated on a number of songs in the past. Their most notable link-up came on a remix of Diddy’s track “Hello Good Morning.” Diddy himself just dropped a new single “Act Bad” with City Girls and Fabolous. He also appeared on a remix of Metro Boomin, 21 Savage, & The Weeknd’s hit song “Creepin’” from late last year. Rick Ross has had a relatively busy year so far too dropping his song “The Game” with Fat Joe and The LOX. He’s also appeared alongside Drei and Richie Evans in a pair of guest verses.
