Four years ago, Baton Rouge rapper NBA Youngboy, also known as YoungBoy Never Broke Again or simply YB, found himself entangled in legal troubles after being arrested on gun charges in his hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Now, the rapper has made a significant move in his legal battle by pleading guilty.

According to reports from KUTV, NBA Youngboy, whose real name is Kentrell D. Gaulden, has agreed to plead guilty to one count of possession of firearms by a convicted felon. This development follows the transfer of his case from the Middle District of Louisiana to the District of Utah. Court documents obtained by 2News reveal that Gaulden signed a “consent and transfer of case for plea and sentence” document, indicating his desire to resolve the case in Utah, where he is currently present. The document, signed on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, states, “I wish to plead guilty to the offense charged, to consent to the disposition of the case in the District of Utah in which I am present, and to waive trial in the above-captioned district.”

The charges against Gaulden stem from a 2020 music video shoot in Baton Rouge, where he and several others were accused of waving firearms while filming. His arrest in September 2020 brought national attention to the young rapper, who has faced multiple legal issues over the years.

In addition to his legal troubles in Louisiana, Gaulden was arrested in Utah in April 2024 on allegations related to a prescription fraud ring. The rapper faced nearly 63 charges from Cache County, along with three additional charges filed by Weber County on April 26, 2024. These charges included possession of a firearm by a restricted person, a felony, and two counts of fraudulently obtaining a prescription.

NBA Youngboy’s legal woes have cast a shadow over his career, but this latest guilty plea could be a step towards resolving some of the issues that have held him back in recent years.

YoungBoy Never Broke Again Is Reportedly Set To Enter A Guilty Plea In His Federal Gun Case

Fans of YoungBoy Never Broke Again (known colloquially as NBA YoungBoy) are growing nervous for the “What You Say” rapper’s future. According to WAFB, YoungBoy Never Broke Again (real name Kentrell DeSean Gaulden) is ready to make progress in his his 2020 federal weapons case. But not in the way supporters may think.

The outlet reports, YoungBoy Never Broke Again is set to enter a plea of guilty in the matter. Paperwork obtained by the local news organization, supposedly filed by YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s attorney Drew Findling has changed his plea to guilty.

This legal mess dates back to September 2020, when YoungBoy Never Broke Again was arrested in his hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana alongside 15 other supposedly affiliates. It was then that YoungBoy Never Broke Again was charged with possession of firearms by a convicted felon.

That isn’t the only update found in the documents. Findling has reportedly also requested to have the case moved to Utah, instead of Louisiana’s Middle District, as the mountainous state currently serves as YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s home (and where he faces other similar charges).

As of today (August 18), a formal decision has not been made regarding YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s requests submitted by his attorney. However, one could be made fairly soon, as WAFB claims his next court dates are scheduled for August 29 in Weber County and September 23 in Cache County, both seemingly in Utah.

With a guilty plea, YoungBoy Never Broke Again could be sentenced to nearly 10 years in prison, in addition to monetary fines as well as a lengthy period of supervised release.

NBA YoungBoy Mentally Unloads On “Tears Of War”

NBA YoungBoy had been on pace to have one of the most productive years of any rapper this year. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native was pumping out single after single on his YouTube page, with several of them landing on his first record of 2024. Compliments of Grave Digger Mountain might not be his strongest work, but him being so productive early on further proves that there are hardly any more hardworking than him. Unfortunately, his constant run-ins with the law continue to rear their ugly head. Back in April, while on a house arrest in Utah, he was arrested for orchestrating a fraudulent drug ring. However, this latest self-inflicted obstacle is not stopping his release pattern because NBA YoungBoy is back with “Tears Of War”.

This marks the 24-year-old’s first solo release in about four months, with “Catch Him” (YouTube exclusive) being that last track. However, in terms of overall songs, it’s the most recent one since his collaboration with Sean Kingston, “Why Oh Why”. Surprisingly, “Tears Of War” sees YB rap with great passion (unsurprisingly) over a No I.D. instrumental (Jay-Z, Pusha T, Drake). Additionally, the record is nearly six-minutes long, which on its face will make a lot of listeners groan. However, NBA really holds his own as he details his mental state, reservations he has with the things/people he loves (the streets, Yaya Mayweather), and much more. Fans are praising and we feel it’s well-deserved in this case.

Boosie Badazz Shuts Down Rumors Of Beef With Kodak Black And NBA Youngboy

Boosie Badazz’s VladTV interviews have given quite a bit of insight into the veteran rapper. Their 13th interview featured a new revelation about rap beefs. Boosie is no stranger to starting conflict with fellow musicians. He’s pretty outspoken in his opinions, even when they’re quite controversial. That combined with his willingness to comment on just about anything going on in the world through his social media has gotten him in trouble more than once. But he clarified that it isn’t elevating to full-on beef with some of his fellow rappers.

In particular, fans have long speculated that Boosie may have beef with Kodak Black. The two have shared many disagreements publicly over social media which occasionally elevated to some pretty direct comments they’ve made about each other. But in his newest interview, Boosie assists that there’s no beef. His justification concludes that mentioning somebody a few times doesn’t escalate things to a rap beef. He even admits to responding to Kodak on his song “Grateful” but claims that because it isn’t all about Kodak, it isn’t an actual diss track. Check out the full interview where he makes those comments below.

Boosie Badazz Denies Beefing With Kodak Black

While on the subject of beefs he had another thing to clarify. He made sure to deny having any beef with NBA Youngboy. He gave a similar reason as he did with Kodak, claiming that while they’ve had their differences it hasn’t escalated to the level of an actual rap beef. A few months ago Kodak Black collaborated with 6ix9ine on a new song. Boosie clearly took issue with the crossover. He took to social media to claim that that the collaboration alone proved that Kodak’s career was on a downward spiral.

What do you think of Boosie denying that he has beef with Kodak Black or NBA Youngboy? Do you agree with his conclusion that that you have to make a full diss track about someone in order to have beef? Let us know in the comment section below.

Sean Kingston & NBA YoungBoy’s Contrasting Styles Collide On “Why Oh Why”

Sean Kingston and NBA YoungBoy are both dealing with some major legal issues at the moment. The Jamaican-bred singer and genre chameleon’s home in Florida was recently raided. Additionally, he is facing 10 charges which include, alleged fraud, grand theft, and identity theft. Furthermore, his mother, Janice Turner, was arrested on similar accounts but with two less charges. Then, there is NBA YoungBoy, who seems to be on a better path after he received a $100,000 bond following his April arrest in Utah over a whopping 63 charges.

It included everything from patterns of unlawful activity to procuring or attempting to procure drugs, identity fraud, forgery, possession of controlled substances, and possession of a dangerous weapon. However, that lengthy list was trimmed down to 48 as of a few weeks ago. However, if things go according to plan, YB will head back to his home state of Louisiana for trial for the separate federal weapon charges. With all of these moving parts, it was quite surprising that we received a new song.

Listen To “Why Oh Why” By Sean Kingston & NBA YoungBoy

“Why Oh Why” is the first-ever meet up between Sean Kingston and NBA YoungBoy and it was teased by the former a little while back, according to HipHopNMore. Another reason why this collaboration is quite surprising is due to their contrasting styles. But the song goes over better than expected, as YB goes into his more melodic bag, instead of his typical yelping vocals. Him and Sean talk about fighting through adversity, which makes perfect sense given their situations.

What are your thoughts on “Why Oh Why” by Sean Kingston and NBA YoungBoy? Did you ever think that we would get a collaboration from these two, why or why not? Would you want to hear them together again? Who had the better performance? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. T.I. Delivers On Promise Of Dropping An NBA YoungBoy Collab With “LLOGCLAY”

When you think about the founding fathers of trap music, especially from the hallowed city of Atlanta, T.I. automatically deserves a spot. The legend has been around for over 20 years and provided the genre with countless classics, especially in the late 2000s. However, as the saying goes, “all good things must come to an end.” T.I. is supposedly going to call it quits musically speaking after he drops a double album.

The rumored title for said project(s) is Kill The King and Kiss The King, but we have inside information as to when it will drop. T.I. announced this news during an October interview with the crew over at the We In Miami podcast. What he also revealed to the world was that an NBA YoungBoy collaboration was in the works and that it was going to a surprising listen for fans. That track that T.I. is referring to now has a title and it is called “LLOGCLAY.”

Listen To “LLOGCLAY” By T.I. & NBA YoungBoy

This first-time collaboration between two of the South’s most prolific names sees them rap passionately over a piano and finger-snapping instrumental. T.I. lowkey was not lying when he said this was going to be something fresh. YB puts forth one of his best recordings and his cadence is smoky and deeper than usual. It is a beautiful track and T.I. dedicated this track to an assumed close friend of his. “This 1 is for my day 1 patna Clay Evans, rest in power King!!”

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “LLOGCLAY” by T.I. and NBA YoungBoy? Is this one of his stronger releases as of late, why or why not? Did YB give one of his strongest performances of his career on this cut, why or why not? Does this get you excited for T.I.’s upcoming and final double album? NBA YoungBoy Is Granted Bond In Federal Weapons Trial

NBA YoungBoy Arrested on Drug and Firearm Charges

Even though last month things were looking kind of rough for Baton Rouge rapper NBA Youngboy after getting arrested in a prescription drug fraud scheme, but now it seems karma is working in his favor as Youngboy has been granted bond in his federal weapons case.

Today, the rapper appeared in court for the first time since his April arrest, where his bond was set at $100K. In images circulating online, he appears to be smiling as in front the judge, not being able to conceal his joy.

He waived his preliminary hearing, allowing the case to move forward and his arraignment has been scheduled for July 1. If he’s released in Utah, his home state of Louisiana wants him transported there to await his prescription drug trial.

YB was initially facing 63 charges including “patterns of unlawful activity, procuring or attempting to procure drugs, identity fraud, forgery, possession of controlled substances, and possession of a dangerous weapon.” Now, his list of charges has been reduced to 48. The charges include identity fraud, forgery and obtaining or attempting to obtain prescription drugs illegally,” according to WBRZ.

As for how Youngboy was allegedly caught, a probable cause affidavit from Cache County suggests that a suspicious pharmacist tipped off authorities. They claim to have received a call from someone who identified themselves as a doctor named Gwendolyn Cox. Gwendolyn, however, “sounded as though she was a much younger male from the Southern states.” The Cache County Sheriff’s Office, along with the FBI, Secret Service, and a SWAT team, then conducted a search warrant on YB’s Utah home. He was later taken into custody.

NBA YoungBoy To Remain In Federal Custody While He Awaits Pretrial Release Hearing

NBA YoungBoy looks to be in a whole heap of trouble after his recent arraignment on April 16. As most know, the prolific Baton Rouge, Louisiana rapper has been on house arrest in Utah for federal weapons charges and now he is facing even more charges. Those currently include “patterns of unlawful activity, procuring or attempting to procure drugs, identity fraud, forgery, possession of controlled substances, and possession of a dangerous weapon.” That was all reported by social media sleuth DJ Akademiks. Now, we have another new update surrounding YB’s legal situation. According to AllHipHop, the 24-year-old Kentrell Gaulden will be kept in federal custody until his pretrial release hearing on April 29.

The “Cache County Sheriff’s Office accused YB and his associates of illegally obtaining promethazine with codeine from pharmacies.” The rapper and the rest of the people involved were allegedly posing as doctors and fake patients to trick pharmacists. The Cache County investigator on the case, Tyson Hyrum Nielsen, sniffed out that the rapper was pretending to be an elderly woman with the alias, Gwendolyn Cox. AllHipHop says that Nielsen called “Cox” and YoungBoy on separate phone calls to decipher that it was indeed one person putting on a disguise.

NBA YoungBoy Will Have His Pretrial Release Hearing On April 29

“During the conversation with ‘Gwendolyn’ it was very clear that a fake voice was being used. ‘Gwendolyn’ sounded as though she was a much younger male from the southern states… Kentrell Gaulden continued to attempt to further the prescription fraud by talking about the prescription and saying, ‘she on the hospital bed,’ referring to the patient ‘Gwendolyn Cox’ from the previous day,” Nielsen said. He even noticed small dialect errors like saying “axe” instead of “ask.”

What are your thoughts on NBA YoungBoy being held in jail until his pretrial hearing on April 29? How do you see this entire court case playing out for him? Do you see YB getting out of the legal issues in the future, why or why not? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section.
