NBA YoungBoy To Remain In Federal Custody While He Awaits Pretrial Release Hearing

NBA YoungBoy looks to be in a whole heap of trouble after his recent arraignment on April 16. As most know, the prolific Baton Rouge, Louisiana rapper has been on house arrest in Utah for federal weapons charges and now he is facing even more charges. Those currently include “patterns of unlawful activity, procuring or attempting to procure drugs, identity fraud, forgery, possession of controlled substances, and possession of a dangerous weapon.” That was all reported by social media sleuth DJ Akademiks. Now, we have another new update surrounding YB’s legal situation. According to AllHipHop, the 24-year-old Kentrell Gaulden will be kept in federal custody until his pretrial release hearing on April 29.

The “Cache County Sheriff’s Office accused YB and his associates of illegally obtaining promethazine with codeine from pharmacies.” The rapper and the rest of the people involved were allegedly posing as doctors and fake patients to trick pharmacists. The Cache County investigator on the case, Tyson Hyrum Nielsen, sniffed out that the rapper was pretending to be an elderly woman with the alias, Gwendolyn Cox. AllHipHop says that Nielsen called “Cox” and YoungBoy on separate phone calls to decipher that it was indeed one person putting on a disguise.

NBA YoungBoy Will Have His Pretrial Release Hearing On April 29

“During the conversation with ‘Gwendolyn’ it was very clear that a fake voice was being used. ‘Gwendolyn’ sounded as though she was a much younger male from the southern states… Kentrell Gaulden continued to attempt to further the prescription fraud by talking about the prescription and saying, ‘she on the hospital bed,’ referring to the patient ‘Gwendolyn Cox’ from the previous day,” Nielsen said. He even noticed small dialect errors like saying “axe” instead of “ask.”

What are your thoughts on NBA YoungBoy being held in jail until his pretrial hearing on April 29? How do you see this entire court case playing out for him? ASAP Rocky Shooting Case Going To Trial, Judge Finds Probable Cause: Report

ASAP Rocky’s court case and trial for an alleged 2021 assault in Hollywood, in which he stands accused of shooting ASAP Relli, just got some crucial updates, according to Meghann Cuniff on one end and TMZ on the other. Moreover, on Monday afternoon (November 20), the Los Angeles judge in this case ruled that there is enough probable cause, as determined by preliminary hearings, to support his present charges of two counts of first-degree assault with a firearm. As such, the case will move to a trial in the near future. Cuniff also indicated that the court will arraign the rapper on January 8.

Not only that, but according to TMZ, prosecutors submitted what they claim is video evidence on Monday of ASAP Rocky holding a gun before shooting his colleague. While he isn’t very identifiable in the footage in question, attorneys opposing him from across the courtroom are dead-set on defending this. For assistance, Los Angeles Police Department detective Frank Flores testified that they found the clip while investigating the case. Throughout this testimony, the publication also reported that the New York MC remained calm and collected. Now that this is officially moving to trial, perhaps the two will reconsider reports that they were hashing out a settlement.

ASAP Rocky To Be Arraigned For Shooting Case On Jan. 8, Meghan Cuniff Reports

In addition, prosecutors also presented alleged audio-centric footage of the two shots that ASAP Rocky allegedly fired off at his fellow Mob affiliate. However, as of writing this article, there is no unquestionable footage available of the shooting itself. For those unaware, ASAP Relli claims that his group mate shot his hand, and also made various statements about his mental state throughout it all. Not only that, but the court also saw body cam footage from seven police officers. Furthermore, these cops arrived at the scene of the incident and scoured for clues, evidence, and any other relevant information present.

After their efforts, they announced that they did not find a firearm anywhere on the premises. ASAP Relli’s side of the story is that he and ASAP Rocky feuded for a while before this alleged shooting. His testimony alleged that the father of two put the weapon up against him, placed directly on his stomach. While he didn’t shoot in that moment, Relli claims that shots rang out shortly after they moved apart- four, to be exact- and that he ran away. Contrary to police reports, Relli also alleged that he found a pair of 9mm shell casings when he returned to the supposed crime scene later that night. Law enforcement and forensics experts did not identify any fingerprints on the casings that he presented.

Keefe D’s arraignment has been continued for two weeks after the lawyer he hired failed to show up for Wednesday’s hearing, according to TMZ. The arraignment comes after Las Vegas police arrested the 60-year-old former gang member, last week, in the 1996 killing of 2Pac.

Keefe D is facing a charge of murder with the use of a deadly weapon in a gang-related homicide. Police say he is the only surviving suspect in the case.

Jason Johansson speak during a news conference at the LVMPD headquarters to brief media members on Davis’ arrest and indictment for the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur on September 29, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. As for what to expect from the case, Suge Knight has already stated that he will refuse to testify. Speaking with TMZ, he explained: “I wouldn’t be. Well, number one, I’m not gonna get on the stand and testify on somebody for what? […] I wouldn’t go, I wouldn’t testify. None of that shit.”

In the wake of Keefe D’s arrest, an interview he gave to The Art of Dialogue back in July has been resurfacing on social media. During the conversation, he admitted that speaking openly about the incident had him worried about jail. “Them dudes was kids, man. Both of them dudes was kids back then,” he said at the time, referring to Deandre “Big Dre” Smith and Orlando Anderson. “Dre was an All-CIF basketball player. He had a nice shot, dunking, all that shit. Dre was an athlete. He wasn’t about that.” From there, the interviewer pressed Keefe. He answered: “Man. We don’t need to discuss that. We already discussed that. What are you trying to get me in jail again?” Be on the lookout for further updates on Keefe D’s case on HotNewHipHop.
