Trippie Reveals All We Need To Know About New EP, “Saint Michael”

Trippie Redd has developed quite the following over his fairly long career. He won over many with his blends of trap and emo rap. This led him to tons of commercial and some critical acclaim. His A Love Letter To You series is is halo series of albums that have provided us with plenty of classic tracks over time. Unfortunately, Trippie decided to close the book on it just a few months ago with the fifth installment. He confirmed this in a message to his fans.

A Love Letter To You 5 is gonna be, if not the best body of music I’ve ever did, one of them. For sure. This is the last one.” He continued, “This the last A Love Letter to You so… I done put my all into it. I’ve been working on this for like, three to four years. Dropping projects, but still having music tucked to the side for this project.” While this was heartbreaking news, this certainly did not mean the end of the road for Trippie by any means.

What Is Pink’s Best-Selling Album?

In the eclectic echelons of pop-rock aristocracy, P!nk is a maverick maestro. Her vocal prowess and her rebellion against musical norms have cemented her place in the annals of music history. As we navigate her career, one album is a testament to her spirit: Missundaztood. This 2001 masterpiece further signaled a significant shift from her R&B roots. It also embraced a rock essence that would become synonymous with P!nk’s identity.

The genesis of Missundaztood was nothing short of P!nk laying her emotions bare. It was set against a backdrop of genre-melding melodies and heartfelt lyrics. The partnership with Linda Perry, the distinctive voice behind 4 Non Blondes, proved pivotal. The duo crafted tracks that weaved personal anecdotes with universal themes, showcasing P!nk’s versatility and depth. It wasn’t merely a change in musical direction. It was also a reinvention, a demolition of the expected pop paradigm to construct a unique soundscape with Missundaztood as its foundation.

The Genesis Of Missundaztood: A Synergy Between Rebel & Artisan

The beginning of Missundaztood tells a tale of artistry where the simple truths of life’s journey crashed with the mastery of musical composition. P!nk’s pursuit of Linda Perry was also an outreach for fellowship in the music world’s vast, often impersonal expanse. It was a plea encapsulated in a letter that bridged two artists from disparate musical realms. Their collaboration in the studios evolved as an exploration of genuineness.

This creative epoch marked by Missundaztood was also as much an act of insurrection against the norm as a disclosure of the artist’s inner world. P!nk navigated through the storm of her formative years, creating tracks like “Don’t Let Me Get Me” and “Family Portrait” that spoke to the souls of those grappling with similar uproars. Further, Perry’s hand can be discerned in the raw honesty of the album, an echo of her musical signature. Together, they embarked on a voyage that changed personal history into a universally felt heartbeat. It is encapsulated within the rhythm and rhymes of Missundaztood.

Critical Acclaim & Commercial Triumph

The release of Missundaztood pushed P!nk into the stratosphere of music stardom. Critics, who often serve as the gatekeepers of musical prestige, were quick to acknowledge the album’s departure from the artist’s debut work. It was an album that skirted the edge of P!nk’s punkish roots while diving headfirst into the deep waters of pop and R&B.

Additionally, as sales soared and chart positions were clinched with the tenacity of the album’s title, Missundaztood became a commercial hit. It wasn’t merely the numbers that told the story—though they were staggering—but the cultural imprint it left. The album became a fixture from the boardrooms of record label executives to the streets. Anthems like “Get the Party Started” became ubiquitous. Further, the RIAA certifications piled up. It was also a tangible measure of the album’s resonance with an audience that found parts of themselves in its tracks.

Legacy & Impact: A Cultural & Commercial Powerhouse

Missundaztood surpassed the 13 million mark globally. It also firmly etched P!nk’s name in the annals of music history with its lasting impact. Its singles, especially the chart-topping “Just Like a Pill,” became anthems. They influenced a generation of pop music enthusiasts and future artists. Moreover, the album’s impressive peak at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 was merely a prelude to its enduring legacy. This can be measured not just in platinum certifications—five times over in the United States alone—but also in its contribution to the narrative of pop music.

Beyond the raw sales data and chart metrics, the album’s impact is reflected in its cultural pervasiveness. From the Grammy stage to the soundtracks of countless lives in the early 2000s, Missundaztood became a beacon of personal storytelling through music. Its influence rippled through the industry, inspiring artists to explore deeper emotional honesty. Overall, the album’s bravado and the vulnerability it championed broke ground for what was acceptable in the mainstream, paving the way for a more diverse musical expression.

Azealia Banks Labels Troye Sivan An “Expired Twink” In Bigoted Rant About “212”

Azealia Banks slammed Troye Sivan in a lengthy, hate-filled rant on Instagram, Wednesday, labeling the singer an “expired twink.” Sivan had praised Banks and remarked that her 2011 single, “212,” is a staple of his pregame playlist.

“This is these white kids’ weird way of apologizing for bandwagoning,” she began in the rant on her Instagram Story. “Having no clue of the kind of shit happening to me behind the scenes in the industry.” After adding a photo of Sivan, she continued: “I’m not impressed by any of these people (who I’ve never met in person nor had a conversation with me) not having the audacity to be as public and loud with their apology as they were with using their platform to cast judgment as if a singular me was an important social justice issue. I would REALLY appreciate all of these f*ckin civilian ass bitches to stop mentioning me, stop dancing to my shit in the club if you’re not going to treat me like a human and take back all the unfounded bullshit you all used ur platforms to perpetuate.”

From there, Banks got homophobic. “And your a late condescending expired Twink anyway bitch. We’ve been past 212. Trying ur hardest to old on to the f*cking weak ass pedophilia x incest aesthetic – perpetuating that underlying double standard that somehow pedophilia practiced among men is somehow okay… that fueled ur trash ass music in the first place. Give it up, puberty hit that ass and made u a doofy looking young man,” she wrote. She finished by suggesting that he’s going to  “pull the grift” and come out as transgender.

Banks dropped “212” back in 2011, helping push her career into the mainstream. It was included on the tracklist to her debut EP, 1991. It’s the years since its release, “212,” has frequently been cited as one of the best songs of the year. Billboard even listed it among its tracks that “defined the decade,” while Rolling Stone included it on its revised list of the “500 Greatest Songs of All Time.”

2 Chainz And Lil Wayne Tease “Long Story Short” From “Welcome 2 ColleGrove”

One of the most anticipated releases of 2023 is about to drop next week. On Friday, November 17, 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne are going to be releasing their sequel to their 2016 collaborative record, COLLEGROVE. It is crazy to think that it has been seven years since that album came out. But, the wait is nearly over and we are absolutely stoked to see what these two legends have to offer. It is clear that they still have plenty left in the tank. Lil Wayne has especially been on a tear as of late. He has come out with a precursor project with Tha Fix Before The VI.

Additionally, his feature game has been insane as well. “Brand New,” “Big Dog,” and “Never Die,” are just a few terrific examples of Weezy going back to his roots with his clever one-liners. Now, he and 2 Chainz are looking to bring that same energy and wordplay to Welcome 2 Collegrove. We already got “Presha” not too long ago and now we have one more coming on Friday, November 10.

2 Chainz Teases A New Single

2 Chainz tweeted out just over an hour ago while writing this, sharing a snippet of another single. The title of the track, “Long Story Short,” will of course have both him and Wayne on it. However, there looks to be one more rapper on it. Genius says it features another trap legend, Juicy J. Of course, this trio has given us classics in the past like, “Bandz A Make Her Dance.” Tity Boi dropped a teaser trailer for the accompanying music video, including some of Wayne’s bars.

What are your initial thoughts on 2 Chainz teasing this new song, “Long Story Short,” with Lil Wayne and Juicy J? Will this be the best track on Welcome 2 ColleGrove? Will this project be better than the original? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Ray J & Brandy’s Mother Gives Health Update Following Recent Hospitalization

Earlier this week, it was reported that Ray J and Brandy’s mother Sonja Norwood was hospitalized after having a bad reaction to at-home IV therapy. TMZ shared that Norwood’s IV treatment included C and B vitamins, calcium, and magnesium. According to the outlet, she started to feel light-headed after the treatment, and had to lay down due to rapid breathing. Ray J and other family members then decided to call an ambulance, and Norwood was taken to a nearby hospital.

Now, she’s shared an eagerly-anticipated update with supporters on Facebook, revealing that the health scare was nothing too serious. “I don’t usually address stories about myself,” she began. “But I was quite surprised to wake up to a call from a long-time friend/publicist asking, ‘Sonja, are you in the hospital, and are you okay?’ ‘What? Where is that coming from?’ I asked.”

“There was a TMZ story that I was not aware of,” Norwood continued. “She sent the link, and when I looked at it, I frowned and said, ‘That was weeks ago.’ And, ‘They could have gotten my age right.’ Then the floodgates of concerns just took over my phone. I had no idea the responses would be so huge to the point I couldn’t address them one by one, so I felt the need to say something publicly.” She went on, assuring fans that she’s doing well now that she’s back at home. “Thank God I am not in the hospital. I’m doing great! I did have a negative reaction to an IV VITAMIN Therapy WEEKS AGO! It was not a big deal. I went to the hospital and got a big Grade A on my medical reports,” she explained.

“It’s known that I seek medical attention if there could be a potential health issue at my age,” she added. “That is about it! Nothing more or less! Chris Brown Seemingly Responds To Omarion Revealing He & Karrueche Tran Almost Dated

During a recent interview with Jason Lee, Omarion recalled a time when the Hollywood Unlocked founder tried to set him up with a friend. According to Jason Lee, he once brought a group of women along with him for a night out with Omarion and Chris Brown. He thought one of the women he invited, Karrueche Tran, had been hitting it off with Omarion. “I thought y’all were gonna be a thing,” Lee said.

“Yeah, that’s true,” the former B2K member confirmed. “And you never said anything!” Lee added. “If I were you I would’ve.” Omarion made it clear that he hasn’t held on to the missed opportunity. “Come on now! You got to be unbothered,” he said. Though things between Tran and Omarion never panned out, the model did go on to have a relationship with Brown.

Chris Brown Shares Cryptic Message On Instagram

The two of them were in an on-and-off-again relationship from 2010 to 2015. In 2020, Tran filed for a restraining order against the singer, alleging that he threatened to kill her. He’s previously faced allegations that he was abusive towards Tran throughout their relationship. It doesn’t seem as though Brown was a fan of Omarion and Jason Lee’s revelation, based on one of his recent Instagram Stories.

“MANNNN,” his message reads. “IF YOU DON’T GET YO L*ME A** ON SOMEWHERE. N***AS BE REACHING FOR THE STARZ.” While it’s unclear whether or not his post is referring to Omarion letting the cat out of the bag, he’s obviously not pleased with something, leading fans to speculate. Many commenters suspect that he’s not all the way over his tumultuous relationship with Tran, and that it’s still be a sore spot for him. Others argue that there’s no evidence his post was referring to the revelation. What do you think of Chris Brown’s apparent response to Omarion reflecting on his run-in with Karrueche Tran? Rick Ross And Meek Mill Compare Their Viral Diving Fail Videos

Meek Mill and Rick Ross have a new collaborative album coming out later this week. The duo have already released a pair of singles. It was led off by the critically acclaimed “Shaq & Kobe” which fans streamed enough to place it on the Hot 100 in its first week. A few weeks later, it got a remix which doubled down on the NBA themes by recruiting Damian Lillard and even Shaq himself to contribute guest appearances.

Seemingly by pure coincidence though, the two collaborators both have notorious viral videos where they make underwhelming dive attempts. Meek Mill’s video features him attempting to dive into a pool and ending up with a total belly flop. In Ross’ video, he’s attempting to jump off an Olympic diving board when his legs give out and he falls into the pool below. Both videos are hilarious flops but both rappers are pretty comfortable making light of their viral slip-ups.

Rick Ross And Meek Mill Debate Over Diving Fails

Rick Ross thinks that his failed dive is more legendary, trying to own the viral video. Meek Mill on the other hand tries to write his belly flop off as a cultural thing. “In Philly when we dive, we cup. You got to make it hit your stomach. But it ain’t a belly flop,” he said to try and justify his dive. The pair repeatedly cracked each other up discussing the viral videos and never quite settled on whose was better.

Earlier this week Meek and Ross shared the tracklist for their upcoming collab album. The full tracklist revealed just how significant of an undertaking thenew record is and how packed it is with features. Vory, Fabolous, Teyana Taylor, DY Khaled, The Dream, Wale, Jeremih, Future, and French Montana are all set to appear on the project. The album is set for release later this week on September 10. Whose viral diving fail do you think was funnier Meek Mill or Rick Ross? Let us know in the comment section below.

Released in February 2019, the album was a critical juncture for Grande, showcasing her resilience and evolution as an artist.

The album, infused with a tapestry of pop, R&B, and trap, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and secured the top spot in multiple countries. Sonic Alchemy: Crafting a Personal Soundscape

The creation of Thank U, Next is a tale of artistry meeting authenticity. During a tumultuous period in Grande’s personal life, the album took shape, reflecting an unfiltered emotional landscape. Producers like Tommy Brown, Charles Anderson, and Michael Foster were at the helm. This helped Grande transform her tribulations into tracks that are both sonically adventurous and lyrically candid. Unlike its predecessor, Sweetener, which exuded optimism, Thank U, Next traversed darker themes with a mix of vulnerability and braggadocio.

This dichotomy is particularly evident in songs like “Ghostin” and “In My Head.” They peel back the layers of Grande’s psyche with haunting melodies and forthright lyrics. The album’s production leaned heavily on minimalist beats, trap rhythms, and ethereal soundscapes, allowing Grande’s vocals to take center stage. This blend of minimalism and lyrical intensity created a resonant backdrop for her storytelling.

Jeezy Revealed That He Was Sexually Abused As A Child

In recent years, more and more of hip-hop’s vanguard artists, reaching the nostalgic memoir portion of their careers, have revealed that they confronted sexual abuse in their pasts. Common, Jim Jones, Kevin Gates, and more have come out with their realizations that they weren’t ready for some of the sexual encounters that were forced onto them in childhood and publicly reckoned with the effects that could have on their mature relationships.

Jeezy has added himself to that list, detailing how his trauma affected him in an hour-long interview with Nia Long about his new album, I Might Forgive… But I Don’t Forget. “I think the first [example of trauma] was being left with a babysitter that was a woman that was older than me,” he admits in the video, “And her, you know, touching me and doing things to me that don’t normally happen to kids… I was introduced to sex at a very young age.”

He also talks about his recent divorce from Jeannie Mai after the birth of their child together, saying, “I can tell you that this has not been an easy journey. I can tell you that I’m saddened. I can tell you that I’m disappointed. I can tell you that I’m uneasy, right? But, again, God has put me on a different path, and that path is going to entail for me to take care of myself and to love myself and to be in the best situation that I can thrive as someone who’s been through all of the things that I’ve been through.”

Still, he denies that infidelity plays a part, quoting, “Real n****s don’t cheat,” from the chorus of his new track “Don’t Cheat.”

You can watch the full interview above.
