Busta Rhymes Will Support His New Album ‘Blockbusta’ With A Slate Of 2024 Tour Dates

This year, several rap legends received their flowers in connection to hip-hop’s 50th anniversary. One of the pioneers honored included Busta Rhymes. During the 2023 BET Awards, he was given a Lifetime Achievement Award. But the “Ok” rapper’s legacy is still unfolding. Last week, the emcee released his latest studio album, Blockbusta.

The 19-track album features guest appearances by Young Thug, Quavo, BIA, Burna Boy, and more. If you didn’t have the chance to catch him live as part of 50 Cent’s The Final Lap Tour this year, don’t worry. In 2024, Busta Rhymes will hit the road on his own headlining 24-date tour. Rhymes’ Blockbusta Tour will kick off on March 13, 2024, in San Francisco, California. Today, only Spliff Star and DJ Scratchator are listed as supporting acts. But fans believe official tour support will be announced at the top of the year.

Travis Scott wasn’t able to salvage his romantic relationship with Kylie Jenner, but that doesn’t mean the Houston native is giving up on love entirely. Even if his energy is pouring into entertaining fans on his CIRCUS MAXIMUS Tour (and working on new music) now, that doesn’t mean La Flame doesn’t want romance around him. In fact, he was so averse to a couple arguing at his Miami concert on Monday (November 27) night, that he paused the show to act as a couple’s therapist so that everyone in the room could return to experiencing UTOPIA together.

As TMZ reports, Scott and his concert patrons were turning up at Kaseya Center when he suddenly had the stage lights hit a young pair sitting in the audience. The father of two told everyone that he’s been watching the partners arguing throughout the show – something that doesn’t at all align with the message his latest LP is trying to spread. Despite not having details about the argument, the Rodeo rapper told them it was likely over something small, and therefore, not to be worried about on his watch.

Travis Scott Comes to Fans’ Rescue On Tour

Instead, Scott urged the lovers (and everyone else) to have fun. The female half of the duo wasn’t having it at first, but after some persuasion, she finally turned her frown upside down. Watching them hug out their differences was enough to satisfy the 32-year-old, who promptly got back to work raging along to some of his biggest hits.

Earlier in the fall, Travis Scott surprised the audience at his Los Angeles SoFi Stadium gig by bringing out his firstborn, Stormi Webster, to soar above fans while performing “MAFIA.” We have yet to see the recording artist’s youngest, Aire, on stage, however, he did appear in recent Instagram photos with Aunt Kendall Jenner. D.L. Hughley Says King Harris’ Outburst Was “Insulting”

This past holiday weekend was maybe a bit up and down for T.I. and his family. He brought his loved ones out to the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons game. It turned out to be a good one, with both vying for possession of first place in the NFC South. The Falcons would emerge victorious, certainly making T.I. a happy camper. However, a family feud went down during the game and it has gone quite viral since it happened on Sunday, November 26. It was recorded on Instagram Live so a ton of eyeballs saw it, including comedian D.L. Hughley.

Another celebrity who caught wind of it was Charleston White. He shared his thoughts on it like he always does with everything that is trending. “God damn it, I told T.I. he should kicked that boy’s a** last year. If T.I. woulda kicked that boy’s a** last year, that boy wouldn’t have had to jack him up today. You had that boy showing out at the Falcon game and embarrassing the family.”

So far, Nicki Minaj has rolled out two singles from Pink Friday 2, including “Bahm Bahm” and “Last Time I Saw You.” Before announcing the album, Minaj released songs “Super Freaky Girl” and “Red Ruby Da Sleeze.” Fans hope each of those tracks will appear on the project.

Tour

On November 17, Nicki Minaj confirmed that to support the album, she will embark on a world tour. Currently, the Pink Friday 2 World Tour schedule hasn’t been shared with the general public. But Minaj did confirm that the run will kick off in 2024. The RVSP webpage listed several North American and international stops, including Brooklyn, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Montreal, Philadelphia, Toronto, Vancouver, Netherlands, Germany, and France. In addition to the Pink Friday 2 World Tour, Minaj is slated to headline Rolling Loud California 2024.

Who Is Young Thug’s Lawyer? Meet Brian Steel

Yesterday (November 27), the racketeering trial against Young Thug officially began with the Fulton County District Attorney’s prosecutor delivering their opening statement. Young Thug is charged with violating the Georgia state Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act and engaging in criminal street gang activity. According to the state, Thug is the leader of a violent street gang, YSL, which has been responsible for dozens of crimes including murder and armed robbery.

However, Thug’s defense attorney, Brian Steel, has argued that the state’s case is flimsy and based on a literal reading of the rapper’s song lyrics with no benefit of the doubt for creative license. According to the New York Times, Steel said, “Despite the unthinkable oppressive, impoverished and cruel conditions of his upbringing, [Thug] has been able to cultivate his creative genius to lawfully and ethically attain phenomenal worldwide success.”

Steel is a veteran defense attorney who runs a firm alongside his wife, Colette, after spending the earliest part of his career as a public defender. Earlier this year, Steel tried unsuccessfully to get Thug granted bond, calling his life in jail “torture.”

So far, Steel has already tried for a mistrial, noting that Assistant DA Adriane Love showed evidence during her opening statements that had already been banned from the case. While Judge Ural Glanville rejected that proposal, he did admonish the prosecutor for including the off-limits material.

If convicted, Young Thug could be sentenced to up to 120 years in prison (although it would likely be much less).

NBA YoungBoy Wants House Arrest Rules Relaxed To Help With Depression & Use Of Outside Studios

NBA YoungBoy is requesting that the terms of his house arrest be eased so that he can once again record music at an outside studio. Additionally, his legal team says it will help with his anxiety and depression. They want the allowance of “certain” activities with approval from his pretrial officer due to his “deteriorating” mental health.

“Being confined to his home and unable to complete his employment obligations has led to great anxiety, depression, loss of weight, and sleep. Mr. Gaulden [NBA YoungBoy] has been visibly stressed and has expressed concern and loss of hope that he will be able to return to his contracted employment obligation,” his lawyers said. They added that his sales have “suffered” due to his “limited ability to produce quality recordings” and that he’s already “exhausted all his options for recording in his home with a very limited production crew.”

Under the proposed terms, YoungBoy would still be subject to adhering to a curfew, wearing an ankle monitor at all times, and having a limitation on visitors. He would also be unable to tour. In response, prosecutors argue that the request is “hopelessly vague.” “The United States fails to see how the defendant’s current conditions of pre-trial release prohibit him from seeking and obtaining mental health treatment,” Assistant U.S. Attorney William K. Morris said in a filing submitted on Monday, as noted by The Fader. He added that YoungBoy can receive “necessary” medical appointments through telehealth therapy. As for the recording of new music, Morris cited the recent release of his latest record, Decided 2, as proof his house arrest isn’t stopping his work.

How Much Jail Time Is Young Thug Facing?

After over a year of delays, the racketeering trial against Young Thug and YSL began yesterday with opening statements. Fulton County Chief Deputy District Attorney Adriane Love reiterated the state’s assertion that the rapper was the leader of a violent criminal gang that “created a crater in the middle of Fulton County’s Cleveland Avenue community that sucked in the youth, the innocence and even the lives of some of its youngest members.”

For his alleged role in the creation and leadership of said gang, Young Thug could end up facing up to 120 years in prison if convicted. Initially only charged with conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act and participation in criminal street gang activity, Thug was also charged with possession of an illegal machine gun and possession of a firearm by a felon after a raid of his home.

Due to the way Georgia’s state RICO law is structured, the state does not actually have to prove that Thug ordered or even knew about criminal activities carried out by the gang, only that he held a leadership position within it. To that end, the Fulton County DA’s office has decided that Thug’s lyrics are all the evidence they need — a decision that has proven controversial and been characterized as racist by a number of observers.
