D.L. Hughley Calls Out DJ Khaled’s Silence On War In Gaza Despite His Palestinian Roots

D.L. Hughley recently spoke with Jason Lee of Hollywood Unlocked, and their conversation ranged across a lot of topics. However, one of the most salient and notable points of their interview emerged through the topic of DJ Khaled. Moreover, Hughley believes that Khaled has completely and erroneously ignored the conflict between Israel and Palestine that is resulting in all-out war. For those unaware, the We The Best Music mogul’s family is from Palestine, and despite his constant presence on social media, he’s yet to really speak out about this mass and deliberate loss of life in the region with his huge platform.

“So, I’ll see you exalting God when you make a shot,” D.L. Hughley remarked concerning DJ Khaled’s typical social media activity in contrast to what other people are saying about the war in Gaza online. “But I’ll watch a seven-year-old Palestinian boy who is praying to God for the strength to bear that his family had been killed. I’ll watch you pray to not hit a bunker and then I will watch a Palestinian family pray that they can find one.

Then, the stand-up comedian referenced a recent viral video of DJ Khaled’s security guards carrying him over sand so he wouldn’t get his Jordans dirty. “We’re used to Palestinians being carried,” he said. “They’re just not alive. They’re dead and they don’t have shoes, they don’t even have feet. To me, you have gone from DJ Khaled to DJ Callous. You cannot be so oblivious that you forget that the images that you are portraying have an equal and opposite effect. And what it tells people is that if somebody that looks like them doesn’t care, why should you?”

According to CNN, over 32,000 people have died so far in this recent resurgence of the centennial conflict, with the great majority being Palestinian civilians in Gaza. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Human Affairs posited that 576,000 of Gaza’s residents, a quarter of their population, are “one step away from famine,” with food crises and lack of proper medical care and mobility affecting the entire region. Many in the entertainment world continue to advocate for a ceasefire and to rebuild after this destruction. For more news and updates on D.L. Hughley and DJ Khaled, check back in with HNHH.

D.L. Hughley Calls Mo’Nique a ‘Liar’ After Making Statements About His Radio Show on ‘Club Shay Shay’

D.L. Hughley Believes Kanye West is 'Conveniently' Mentally Ill

D.L. Hughley isn’t trying to hear any of what Mo’Nique is saying on Club Shay Shay.

“Welp, ‘Club Shay Shay’ is getting messier and messier,” Hughley said. “It’s almost like Wendy Williams didn’t go nowhere, she just got a weight set.”

Mo’Nique stated on Club Shay Shay that a co-host on Hughley’s radio show offended her. She also stated Hughley would call her to address the situation.

In a clip online, Hughley provided his side of the story: “Mo’Nique’s a liar. When Mo’Nique did call me, I hear her complaints, I listened to her and I pulled the segment. So if I had been as dismissive as she alleges I was, that segment would’ve aired. It didn’t, because I respected her wishes. She’s a liar.”

D.L. Hughley Calls Mo’Nique A “Liar” For “Club Shay Shay” Comments

D.L. Hughley has addressed Mo’Nique’s comments about him during her recent Club Shay Shay interview, calling her a “liar”. “Every time I see Mo’Nique these days, she’s doing some greasy ass video with her and her daddy complaining about something or working out. “She said I was very dismissive. Mo’Nique’s a liar. When Mo’Nique did call me, I heard her complaints. I listened to her, and I pulled the segment. So, if I had been as dismissive as she alleges I was, that segment would have aired. It didn’t because I respected her wishes. She’s a liar,” Hughley said on Instagram.

Mo’Nique had claimed that Hughley had been “dismissive” of her concerns after an unpleasant experience on his radio show. According to Mo’Nique, while Hughley had not been present, his co-hosts had made her play “Would You Rather” and had included several unsavory questions about her husband. Hughley also claimed in his response that Mo’Nique’s comments about the sexual assault his daughter suffered were also untrue. Mo’Nique is yet to respond to Hughley’s scathing rebuttal.

Mo’Nique Slams Skip Bayless

Meanwhile, Hughley was not the only person who caught flak during the interview. Mo’Nique told Shannon Sharpe that she had been unable to watch Undisputed for two days after Skip Bayless disrespected him. While she expressed her admiration that Sharpe did not resort to violence, she revealed that her husband had to talk her back around to enjoying the show. She revealed that her husband sat her down and reminded her Sharpe could have ended Bayless if he had wanted to.

Sharpe left Undisputed abruptly after the NBA Finals last summer. While neither party has formally sat down and fully explained what happened, there appeared to be several factors in play. Sharpe appeared to have reached his tolerance for Bayless’ abrasive and often inflammatory style. Meanwhile, Bayless appeared eager to have the show revolve around him once more.

D.L. Hughley Says King Harris’ Outburst Was “Insulting”

This past holiday weekend was maybe a bit up and down for T.I. and his family. He brought his loved ones out to the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons game. It turned out to be a good one, with both vying for possession of first place in the NFC South. The Falcons would emerge victorious, certainly making T.I. a happy camper. However, a family feud went down during the game and it has gone quite viral since it happened on Sunday, November 26. It was recorded on Instagram Live so a ton of eyeballs saw it, including comedian D.L. Hughley.

Another celebrity who caught wind of it was Charleston White. He shared his thoughts on it like he always does with everything that is trending. “God damn it, I told T.I. he should kicked that boy’s a** last year. If T.I. woulda kicked that boy’s a** last year, that boy wouldn’t have had to jack him up today. You had that boy showing out at the Falcon game and embarrassing the family.”

D.L. Hughley Reacts

Now, D.L. Hughley has some words about it. He caught up with TMZ Hip Hop at the LAX airport as he called King Harris’ actions “insulting.” He also addressed what T.I.’s son said about growing up in the trap and having roaches crawl over him. In a quite hilarious statement, Hughley says that the only roaches around him were paid actors as he was living a much easier life than he made it seem to be. Seeing as how Hughley has children, he knows that his own would not act like that.

What are your initial thoughts on D.L. Hughley’s comments about King Harris’ freak out at the Atlanta Falcons game this past weekend? Do you think that T.I. and Tiny deserve more blame than King? What can Harris do to correct his own behavior? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. D.L. Hughley Slams Journalist Who Says Chris Rock Deserved Will Smith Slap

Chris rock’s unfortunate moment at last year’s Oscars has earned more attention, and D.L. Hughley is defending his friend. Will Smith has been the target of critics since he stormed the Academy Awards stage and slapped Rock. It occurred following Rock’s quip about Jada Pinkett Smith’s bald head, and it caused the actress to become a punching bag of trolls and comedians. The Smiths have addressed the controversy, and Will repeatedly apologized, but it wasn’t enough. Rock again went after the Smiths in his latest Netflix comedy special, Selective Outrage. However, his approach gained mixed reactions.

Journalist Candace McDuffie, a writer for The Root, said that Rock made a career from telling jokes at the expense of Black women. Many have argued that this was seen in Selective Outrage, and McDuffie added that Rock deserved the slap from Smith. Comedian D. L. Hughley knows both Rock and Smith, and he’s been a fierce defender of the Never Scared icon. TMZ caught up with Hughley and wanted his thoughts on the controversy.

Hughley Defends Chris Rock Once Again

“It’s kinda crazy to me that if you thought the slap was justified and you think that the comedy was too far, I think that’s ironic,” said Hughley. “I think that it’s ironic that you think that one response to a joke was violence, and that’s justified, but response to violence with a joke, that isn’t. That seems to be the tone of the special.”

“I d think it’s ironic that everybody got a chance to respond about that slap, except the man that got slapped,” Hughley further stated. “And when he responds, it causes this sort of upheaval. I don’t think we should ever have the right to tell somebody how or when or what’s appropriate for their response.” Additionally, Hughley rejected the notion that Rock made sweeping, insulting remarks about Black women as a whole. Hughley also made it a point not to say Jada’s name specifically.

Not All Black Women, Just Jada…And Meghan Markle

“He talked about one Black woman, there are millions of them. So, I don’t know how a conversation—and honestly, the reason we know about the Black woman that he referenced in the special is because they make it their business to let us know what’s going on.” He also mentioned Meghan Markle, who was also targeted by Rock in his special. Hughley argued that she, too, speaks openly about her personal life.

However, detractors have clapped back at Hughley’s take. Rock has been called out for decades for his remarks about Black women, but his repeated attention to Jada has sparked rumors to fly. Last week, a report stated Rock once attempted to romance Pinkett, but she rejected him. Meanwhile, Rock’s supporters, like Hughley, have come to his defense from one outlet to the next. D.L. Hughley Makes Comparisons Between Kanye And Lucifer

D.L. Hughley Believes Kanye West is 'Conveniently' Mentally Ill

Ye has been quiet since the incendiary remarks he made about Jewish people and showed his adoration for Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. Despite his silence, that has not kept him from being a point of conversation for many people. In a recent interview with DJ Vlad, comedian D.L. Hughley made comparisons between Ye and the “fallen angel,” Lucifer.

“I really fault a lot of these people who are taking advantage,” D.L. began. “Well, I can’t say they’re taking advantage.” He then questioned why Ye’s team would allow him to jump from show to show knowing that he is going to make outlandish and controversial statements.

Vlad then brought up a conspiracy theory that West held about his mother, Donda West, Michael Jordan’s father, and Bill Cosby’s son all being sacrificed. Vlad said that he did some research into the death of Donda West, and said that it was far from a sacrifice.

Hughley then went on to compare West to Lucifer, saying that the two share similarities.

“I think that—biblically, Lucifer was a cherub. He was—his name means Morning Star. Lucifer was beautiful and he was God’s minister of music. He was exalted, and he was perfect. And Lucifer had seen God. He knew that he was created by him. But Lucifer was so charismatic and so talented, he talked other angels in trying to bum rush heaven.”

“If talent and charisma is so mesmerizing, so intoxicating, it can make angels rise up against God it can make us alter our understanding of things. We’ll start to believe things. That is the most dangerous thing about what’s going on here,” Hughley added. “It says a lot that a man who loves Hitler and Trump. It says a lot that you love those two people. And it says even more that people are contorting themselves to make that make sense.”

Mo’Nique Delivers Backhanded Apology To D.L. Hughley And His Family, Says “I Meant Every Mother F*cking Thing”

Mo'nique's Lawsuit Against Netflix is Moving Forward

It seems like the feud might be over. Well kind of.

Over the weekend, Mo’Nique issued a public apology to D.L. Hughley’s family, saying that she apologized if she hurt anyone’s feelings.

“I’d like to consider myself a woman of honor. So I’ve got to do something right now publicly that I did publicly,” Mo’Nique said. “And when I f*ck something up, I’ve got to fix it up. So I’m going to take care of that right now before I go any motherf*king further. To D.L. Hughley’s family, I want to publicly apologize if I hurt anyone’s feelings.”

She went on to apologize to D.L.’s wife and children because it was never her intention to hurt them. “I want to publicly apologize to his wife, his babies if I hurt their feelings because that was never my goddamn intention. I never meant to hurt their feelings.”

However, she did not keep that same energy for D.L. In fact, she doubled down on her statements saying that she “meant every motherf*cking word.”

“Oh, but that n*gga D.L., I meant every motherf*king thing I said,” Mo’Nique said.

D.L. has not since responded, but this comes weeks after D.L. addressed Mo’Nique and called her a “monster” for weaponizing his daughter’s sexual trauma in order to hurt him. Multiple times during his statement he told Mo’Nique to leave his children out of their beef.

“The final straw and the last breath I’ll waste on a monster so HEINOUS, they would try to open a wound and weaponize a young woman’s past personal trauma. That young woman happens to be my daughter and it ends today” D.L. wrote in the caption of his IG post.

Mo’Nique’s Sister Says That She’s “Displacing” Anger On The Wrong People

Mo'Nique Doubles Down on Remarks About Bonnets Following Backlash

The beef between D.L. Hughley and Mo’Nique might have hit a stalemate. Neither side has addressed the other in a few days. However, lately, more family has been getting involved in the beef, with Hughley’s daughter Ryan publicly addressing Mo’Nique, and now the Academy Award-winning actress’ sister voicing her thoughts on the matter as well.

Mo’Nique’s sister, Millicent Imes, took to Facebook to share in a lengthy post her thoughts on the situation with D.L. Hughley. She shared that it was “maddening” to see her sister “embarrass” herself. and that how Mo’Nique is handling the situation is “not a good look.”

“Enough is Enough!! My Sister!! Stop the Madness!!! It’s not a good look,” she wrote. “God has Shut you down before, and believe me he will do it again!!! Let’s start by staying on topic. YOU are and have been displacing your anger on the wrong people.”

Imes’ message to her sister comes just days after Hughley called her a “monster” for weaponizing his daughter’s sexual trauma in trying to insult him.

“I know I said that I had done all I could here about this whole Mo’Nique situation but over the weekend her and her husband released a video where I was doing an interview and I detailed my daughter’s sexual trauma. Mo’Nique has taken that video and perverted it for her own uses. She decided to add her own narrative,” Hughley said.

Since her sister’s post, Mo’Nique has not yet responded.

D.L. Hughley’s Daughter Fires Back at Mo’Nique: “You’re Clearly Two Crayons Short Of The Whole Box”

monique

You probably would have thought that the beef between D.L. Hughley and Mo’Nique would have been over by now, but every other day someone else is responding to Mo’Nique. Now, D.L. Hughley’s daughter Ryan Nicole Shepard has entered the conversation after Mo’Nique got personal in her attack of D.L.

Mo’Nique had posted a clip of an interview between D.L. Hughley and Sway Colloway where Hughley talked about how he dismissed a claim from one of his daughters when she told him she was sexually assaulted because he knew the character of the person who allegedly did it. In her caption, she wrote “When I said ‘how can DL’s wife suck the d**k of a coward’, this is what I meant.”

Ryan then took to the comments section where she wrote a lengthy response to Mo’Nique, telling the comedian that she has disrespected her mother and little sister to get back at her father and is only aiding in the “systematic and traumatic disrespect of other Black women.”

“Hi @therealmoworldwide I’m Ryan Nicole Shepard (D.L. Hughley and LaDonna Hughley’s eldest daughter). You’ve now publicly disrespected my mother—who I love and care for very much—and my baby sister—who I love and care for very much to get back at my father—who I love, respect and care for very much,” Ryan commented.

She continued, saying that her handling of the situation only proves how mentally unstable she is and how she has no respect for Black women. “Using my mama and my sister to show people my father’s character only shows how little mental stability, dignity, morality and respect you have not only for yourself but other black women. You’re clearly two crayons short of the full box sis. You’re disgusting and you absolutely need to keep every single member of MY family’s name out of your poisonous mouth.”

Ryan ended her response, telling Mo’Nique that if she would like to continue to have their conversation in private that she will “happily” give Mo’Nique the address to her home.

Mo’Nique then went on to post Ryan’s response and accepted her invitation to talk. “THANK YOU FOR THE INVITATION FOR A DISCUSSION. WE WOULD LIKE TO TAKE YOU UP ON IT. BECAUSE IT COULD BE VERY HEALING FOR OUR COMMUNITY. HAVE @realdlhughley SET UP A TIME FOR YOU, & YOUR FAMILY & MY HUSBAND & I TO COME ON HIS SHOW & WE WILL GO FROM THERE. I LOVE US 4REAL,” Mo’Nique wrote.

The Beef Continues Between D.L. Hughley and Mo’Nique, King Of Comedy Says “Now I Know What Tyler Perry Knows”

D.L. Hughley Believes Kanye West is 'Conveniently' Mentally Ill

The comedy world has been going through it these last few months. Between Chris Rock being slapped at the Academy Awards and Dave Chappelle getting tackled in the middle of a concert, the comedy world’s last thing is two of its legends beefing.

Welp, that’s exactly what’s happening.

Over the last few days, D.L. Hughley and Mo’Nique have been embroiled in a beef that started over a debate about which one of the comedians was headlining a show in Detroit. Mo’Nique talked about her spat with D.L. while on stage, and D.L. responded by asking Mo’Nique if she was still mad about the deal she got from Netflix a few years ago.

D.L. and Mo’Nique posted their contracts on Instagram with conflicting details. D.L. posted his deal memo, which had him as the headliner, while Mo’Nique posted the contract she sent the promoter. The two’s show schedules also were different, with Mo’Niques saying she was the headliner and D.L.’s schedule saying he was headlining.

On his morning show on Tuesday morning, D.L. took the time to clear the air about his beef with Mo’Nique. calling the legendary comedian an “occupational hazard.”

“Now I know what Tyler Perry knows, I know what Lee Daniels knows, I know what Oprah knows, I know what Steve Harvey knows, I know what Charlamagne Tha God knows, I know what Netflix knows. Saying yes to Mo’Nique is an occupational hazard.”

Hughley continued to share his side of the story, blaming himself for taking a chance with Mo’Nique and asking why instead of handling her contract dispute with the promoters, she decided to rant about it on stage during her set.

You can watch D.L.’s remarks below.
