Kehlani’s Friend Defends Them Following Baby Daddy’s Sex Cult Accusations

Kehlani is the subject of much controversy right now. Their baby daddy Javaughn Young-White accused them of being in a sex cult. Reportedly, he seeks full custody of their daughter according to court documents obtained by TMZ. Young-White thinks she’s at risk of abuse due to the supposed cult’s alleged leader facing various claims of sexual assault. While the origin of these accusations is unclear, fans and friends alike are defending the singer, including one Destin Conrad. The artist took to Twitter to support the Oakland native and theorize as to why people are dragging their name.

“i seen n***as really pull s**t out they a** when they cornered,” Destin Conrad wrote of the Kehlani accusations. “n that’s what scare me about yall. instead of working on yourself u jus desperately fishin for something or someone to make a villain. it’s tired, get help. yall get on here n make think pieces about my friend all day but please don’t ever come for the parenting. n don’t believe S**T you read on the internet. let’s [be] very f***ing real for a second. n***as love to villainize someone when s**t don’t go they way i see.”

Elsewhere, Kehlani’s baby daddy claimed that they lied about their sexuality and their fling. “I understand why she had to gas it up and act like I was a gay sperm donor. to protect herself from the fake lesbian allegations. but ima need yall to stop calling me gay 6 years later again,” he wrote on Twitter. “People implying I’m a gay sperm donor when I’m a whole father is lame as hell. and I’m not gonna sit here and go along with it lol.

“Also being outed as a ‘gay/queer man’ against my consent and getting homophobia thrown at me for years gets me tight. Bro don’t push that on me,” Kehlani’s baby daddy continued. “Mfs sat there and lied on my sexuality to protect whatever lesbian identity was working for them at the time. And I caught all the flack fr it and constantly got told to stfu before I ruin mfs career.”

Rihanna Dons Stunning Feathered Costume For Barbados Festival

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky didn’t just celebrate their son Riot’s birthday in Barbados, as it seems like they stuck around for even more fun. Moreover, RiRi recently stole the show at her home country’s Crop Over Festival this year on Monday (August 5), donning a jewel-heavy carnival costume with feathered wings and a luxurious crown. As she and her friends (including Ayra Starr) partied on a float for the festivities, they said hi to fans and overall seemed to have a fantastic time. For those unaware, Crop Over is a centuries-old gathering celebrating the end of the harvest in Barbados and is similar to Carnival celebrations in Brazil and Trinidad, for example.

During a May interview, Ayra Starr spoke on meeting the “Diamonds” singer for the first time earlier in 2024. “I was like, ‘Wow! Rihanna!’” she shared. “We got to hang out after the event. Just spending time with my idol, the person that inspired me to do all of this, was the most amazing thing. She gave me so many pointers and advice.” They linked up over some Fenty collaborations, which has been going strong this year.

Rihanna At Crop Over In Barbados

Elsewhere, though, Rihanna also had to deal with some drama concerning allegations referenced in a new Trap Lore Ross video on Jay-Z, with her former publicist Jonathan Hay shedding some light on these claims. “So I was like, ‘F**k Jay-Z,’ since he won’t give us any attention and he’s being disrespectful to Amil, who was a single mother,” he recalled. “I’m going to get his attention and be disrespectful back to Jay-Z, as Rihanna was the best thing on Def Jam by far.

“I thought Jay-Z was a dirtbag, so I put out the story that Jay-Z was in a love triangle with Rihanna and Beyoncé,” Hay told AllHipHop. “That caught fire, sparked conversation, increased radio airplay, press coverage and other forms of attention. I was in an unapologetic ‘by any means necessary’ state of mind.” Hay underwent police interrogation as a result of these claims, and Hov and his team forced him to relay a public apology for his efforts.

Chloe Bailey Serves Curves In Stunning Promo Pictures For Lizzo’s Shapewear Brand

Chloe Bailey is the latest face of Lizzo’s shapewear brand YITTY, and fans can’t get enough of how she rocks her pieces. Moreover, the brand just launched their “Nearly Naked” campaign exclusively online, and folks are going wild for Bailey’s curves in a series of new pictures for YITTY. The 14-piece collection has easily changeable pieces that can be underwear or outerwear and includes a uniquely convertible shapewear dress. There are quirky prints, solid colors, and plenty of silhouettes available, with the R&B singer particularly donning a bodysuit, a high waist short, a sculpting dress, and a scoop bralette.

Furthermore, this is YITTY’s latest move as an emerging inclusive shapewear brand, even as Chloe Bailey’s friend and the brand’s head honcho continues to reckon with controversy. Fortunately for Lizzo, she indicated that she feels she’s in a much better mental health space these days after threatening to quit music and social media following much criticism over her sexual harassment and verbal abuse allegations. While the legal status of these claims remains in limbo, she seems committed to moving forward. We’ll see whether or not anything else comes from this situation.

Chloe Bailey For YITTY

As for Chloe Bailey, she recently joined in on the fun when it comes to one of 2024’s biggest songs of the year: Tinashe’s “Nasty.” She recently released a couple of new remixes for the catchy track, including a rework from Tyga and an added rendition from Halle Bailey’s sister. It’s great to see all these artists collaborate more over some massive hits, especially when these new collabs provide brand-new link-ups and artistic relationships. We can only guess as to what she’ll release next, but after a very busy 2023, we can’t blame her for wanting to take things in a more chill manner in 2024.

Meanwhile, Chloe Bailey is still just as prone to directly shut some haters down as she is to let her success speak for itself. It’s an energy that these new pictures for YITTY certainly emulate as she poses in a carefree manner. Let’s see who Lizzo’s next brand collaborator is. Surely, whoever steps up to the plate will be just as stunning. See more of Chloe’s pictures with the “Via” link below.

Childish Gambino Closes The Curtains On Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update: Stream

If you’re stressed out or happy about Joe Biden dropping out of the 2024 U.S. presidential race, then match the occasion by chilling out or celebrate with our latest R&B Season playlist update, rounding up the best of the best the genre had to offer with this week’s releases. The headliner this time around is Childish Gambino’s new album Bando Stone And The New World, his final project under the moniker and his swan song that sums up his artistic talents. Soulful cuts like “In The Night” with Amaarae and Jorja Smith are gorgeously lush, and we thank Donald Glover for the amazing art that his musical persona gave us over the past fifteen or so years.

In addition, we have a generational crossover with Usher’s remix of 4batz’s “act iv: fckin u again (18+).” Over a slow, muddy, and laidback R&B instrumental, the two singers show off a lot of chemistry and emulate some truly sensual vibes with their lyrics and deliveries. While they might have different levels of showmanship in your eyes, their vocal tones meld quite well together. Also, the more straightforward percussion on this track makes for a nice fusion of the old and the new.

HNHH R&B Season Playlist: Stream

Elsewhere on our R&B Season playlist update this week, you’ll also find the latest single from Khalid, the chilled-out “Ground.” The production here is mostly atmospheric, with a lot of reverb making the stark drums and low-key synth pads all the more ethereal. Vocally, the dynamic cut boasts low croons and soft reaches into a higher pitch, and it all works well as an overall smoky approach. It’s also a narratively reflective record, looking back at innocuous memories and feeling grounded within them.

Finally, we wanted to shout out the new Blxst album, I’ll Always Come Find You. There’s a lot of catchiness and creative genre fusions all throughout, but the bouncy house rhythms and occasional hits of distortion on “I Need Your Love” with Ty Dolla $ign are a particular highlight. Let us know what your favorite R&B Season playlist inclusion was this week, as well as what else we missed, down there in the comments section below. Check the playlist out above and, as always, stick around on HNHH for more amazing music releases around the clock.

Kid Cudi Announces His New Podcast For His “Moon Man” Comic Book Series

Kid Cudi has already dropped a couple of singles for his Moon Man comic book series, and it’s going to become even more of a multi-media project. Moreover, he announced on Saturday (July 20) via Twitter that he will launch The Moon Man Chronicles, a podcast series dedicated to breaking down each issue and its corresponding singles. While some Cudder fans might be disappointed that this isn’t more of a broad podcast from an artist as versatile and long-standing as him, it should still make for very compelling and insightful conversations about Moon Man. The show will be available on YouTube, and its first couple of episodes will also invite comic co-writer Kyle Higgins.

“Startin a podcast called THE MOON MAN CHRONICLES,” Kid Cudi announced to his Twitter followers recently. “A full review of each issue of MOON MAN and songs from the soundtrack that’ll be available on Youtube. Kid Cudi Unveils The Moon Man Chronicles

Moon Man traces the journey of Ramon Townsend, who becomes something of a celebrity after saving his ship and crew in a near-disastrous moon mission,” Variety reported about the conceptual storyline and thematic through-lines of the Moon Man comic book series and its accompanying media supplements like the songs and this podcast. “Townsend is intent on returning to a normal, quiet life back in Cleveland, though the threat of what happened on that mission casts a shadow over his ambitions. In the third iteration of the series, Townsend begins to test the limits of his abilities, until the return of an old friend complicates his life further.”

Meanwhile, Kid Cudi is probably going to offer fans a whole lot more in 2024. He just released a new music video for his INSANO (NITRO MEGA) cut “SUPERBOY,” and hopefully more visual treatments or singles follow. Whether or not these hypothetical new tracks line up with Moon Man, it would be great to see this creative streak continue. Let’s see what insights The Moon Man Chronicles offers once it launches on YouTube very soon.

Trey Songz Defends Bronny James Against The Haters After First NBA Summer League Games

It’s either not easy being LeBron James or it’s too easy: that’s the debate raging around Bronny James as a Los Angeles Laker during the NBA’s Summer League these days. While he recently scored 12 points in the team’s first win during this period, there are still a lot of people doubting his talent or overly criticizng of his circumstances, choices, and very short career so far. Nevertheless, there are those like Trey Songz who staunchly defend the basketball player against the haters, as he did with a recent Instagram Story post. “I’m rooting for bruh all day: y’all n***as weird,” he captioned a repost of Bronny playing with the Lakers.

Furthermore, this is especially notable thanks to a “caught in 4K moment” that happened to recent NBA champion and Finals MVP, Jaylen Brown. He said that Bronny James “isn’t a pro” while courtside at a Summer League game, and fans were quick to call him out for this when the clip went viral. But Brown backtracked quick on Twitter: “It’s a flex to have your son alongside you in the nba it reflects greatness and longevity !Bronny has all the tools around him to be successful I look forward to watching his growth.”

As for Trey Songz, he’s dealing with yet another assault accusation, which he’s stacked up many of throughout the years. Still, it’s important to note that some of these didn’t amount to anything, so take all these allegations and claims with a grain of salt. But the singer isn’t only passionate about sports: he also stands by certain principles with his art. For example, he recently revealed that he scrapped a music video with Tyga back in the day because there weren’t enough Black women in it.

Meanwhile, Bronny James isn’t just getting wins on the court, but also on the battlefield… well, a virtual one. He won a Call Of Duty tournament during Summer League between fellow NBA players and hopefuls, and if you’re curious, Grant Williams came in second. It’s funny to think about Bronny’s play style in a military first-person shooter translating to the basketball court. Will he be a sniper from three, a run-and-gun SMG rusher down the lane, or a shotgun-wielding bruiser in the paint? We’re excited to find out.

Janelle Monae Takes Down Michael Jackson Parody Video After Fan Backlash

Janelle Monae caught an unfortunate bit of backlash for some slightly dark humor the other day, as they posted a video reenacting Michael Jackson’s infamous balcony-baby incident (if you don’t know what we’re talking about, you’ve got some serious pop culture history to learn). They didn’t address some fans’ controversial reactions to it, but they did seem to quietly take it down from their page, so we’d assume that they regret the decision to at least share the clip. It’s a pretty odd way to pay tribute to the King of Pop, but then again, maybe it was to highlight the controversies held in that career as well. Nevertheless, it looks like it won’t be a hot debate topic any longer.

Furthermore, this is especially curious because Janelle Monáe is a big fan of Michael, and especially of his sister, Janet Jackson. “We gather all around the world with your music as our soundtrack,” they introduced the Rhythm Nation icon for her Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, calling her the “legendary queen of Black girl magic.” “We applaud you for your commitment to excellence [and] we celebrate you for giving us memories we wish we could bottle up and save for the next lifetime. History is not complete without you, Janet.”

Janelle Monae Seemingly Takes Down Controversial Michael Jackson Video

Meanwhile, Janelle Monáe recently commented on how they pick out movie roles, and their explanation was quite curious. “Really, I love to get to know the characters and feel with anything I’m doing,” they told The Guardian. “I really have to feel it in my pubic hairs -– they have to vibrate. My underarm hairs definitely tingled when I got the Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery script.”

As for Michael Jackson, Janelle Monae’s odd reenactment wasn’t the only questionable “tribute” to him from artistic collaborators that raised fans’ eyebrows as of late. Janet Jackson herself caused a commotion when she chose to pose with someone dressed as her brother for a meet and greet with her. While many folks found this disrespectful, it also stands to reason that Janet sees this kind of thing often. As such, maybe she can see it from a more appreciative and respectful point of view than our Internet-influenced perspective.

The Weeknd Teases The Conclusion To His “After Hours” Trilogy With New Trailer

It’s fittingly poetic that one of the most monumental music careers of the past 15 years will seemingly begin with a trilogy and also end with a trilogy. Of course, we’re talking about The Weeknd’s highly anticipated follow-up to Dawn FM and After Hours, which will conclude not just this era of his journey, but also possibly his stage name. Moreover, the hype for this project just caught a fresh new wind thanks to his most recent social media post, which is a cinematic trailer showcasing the aesthetics and a sonic mashup of the aforementioned 2020s albums. The final part of the clip shows what seems to be a young version of Abel Tesfaye amid grass, with the message: “There are three chapters to this tale.”

Furthermore, fans think that The Weeknd will kick off his next album’s rollout into full gear now, especially thanks to a one-off show in São Paulo, Brazil on September 7. This also follows previous teases, such as a possible Apple collab, that have given vague but exciting hints about what’s to come. From what this new trailer indicates, perhaps this new version of the Canadian superstar will be his rebirth or reincarnation following the death (or purgatory) narrated on After Hours and Dawn FM. That’s just speculative, though, so we’ll have to see what the LP actually indicates.

The Weeknd Is Ready To Close His 2020s Trilogy

Elsewhere, though, The Weeknd has had a pretty notable 2024 without having to do much, as he’s a player in the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef. His features on Future and Metro Boomin’s We (Still) Don’t Trust You album series this year seemingly contained a couple of 6ix God shots, and his appearance at Kendrick’s “Pop Out” also furthered this narrative. Still, Abel didn’t really become part of the whole narrative. It’s just wild that he was still a huge name this year despite not doing much to warrant this, but then again, that’s his massive artistry at work.

Meanwhile, speaking of Metro Boomin, we know that he will at least provide some production to The Weeknd’s next project. Given the conceptual and musical directions of After Hours and Dawn FM, this will likely be another highly ambitious affair. We don’t know whether it will be a sonic evolution or more of the same in this trilogy, but either way, we should be in for a treat. Let’s hope that he follows up this trailer with some more concrete news.

Childish Gambino Sheds Light On Leaving Rap Name Behind In New “Hot Ones” Episode

Donald Glover was the latest spice-ridden guest on Hot Ones with Sean Evans, and it was a very fun and compelling conversation to watch go down. Moreover, he compared the process of eating ten increasingly spicy chicken wings and answering Evans’ questions to ayahuasca, and we still don’t know if he meant that in a good or bad way. Jokes aside, this new episode lands right before the release of Glover’s new album, Bando Stone & The New World, which will seemingly be his final effort under the Childish Gambino moniker. During this interview, he remarked on what this name means to him, how he sees its retirement, and who contributed to these conclusions.

“A collaborator of mine, fam and I, we talked about the death of Superman a lot,” Childish Gambino said on Hot Ones. “I always knew Childish Gambino was like a character, and on some level, I wanted it to end. I almost feel like Childish Gambino is like the boss from The Office. Like, ‘That stuff worked 10 years ago.’ All that stuff worked, but now it’s like a different thing. It’s like, ‘Oh, it’s a little sad.’ But it’s like, wow, the cycle kind of continues, which is great, I think.”

Childish Gambino On Hot Ones

“The Childish Gambino story from the Wu-Tang Clan,” the multi-hyphenate said towards the end of the Hot Ones episode, explaining the meaning of his rap name (taken from a Wu-Tang name generator) that he’s come to understand. “RZA told me it’s a story of a child turning into a boss. This last sunset walk is for the fans. This is for you.”

“If this isn’t the best live show you’ve seen,” Childish Gambino joked about his upcoming world tour, which begins in Oklahoma on August 11 and will get support from WILLOW and Amaarae. “After the first song, if you’re like, ‘I gotta go,’ you can leave and I’ll give you your money back. That’s how much I care about all of this. That’s not a joke. My lawyers will be like, ‘It’s a joke,’ but it’s not a joke. I will set it up so you can go.”

Summer Walker & Chris Brown Recreate Some Of Breezy’s Viral Meet & Greet Pictures

Summer Walker and Chris Brown have been collaborators and creative colleagues for quite a long time, with one of their first team-ups being “Something Real” back in 2019. However, it seems like no matter how many or how little released material they have together, they are still down to have a great time during Breezy’s 11:11 tour. Moreover, they recently linked up backstage and took some fun and heartening pictures together, and everyone’s all smiles and goofy expressions as they had a ball back there. It’s always nice to see celebrities take the mask off if even for a brief moment.

Furthermore, it seems like Chris Brown and Summer Walker wanted to recreate some of the former’s viral meet and greet moments, or at least to emulate them in the best way possible. They spread themselves over the floor, put up funny faces, and the Virginia superstar put a dancer’s leg up in a seductive pose whose facial expressions make it clear that it’s parodying how messy some fans want to get with their poses. Still, it’s all in good fun, since there’s not really a specific meet and greet moment to link this to. If someone had literally recreated some viral poses, then we would be talking about a wholly different story here.

For those unaware, Chris Brown’s meet and greet pictures this year have ranged from couples breaking up to folks falsely representing fans. Fortunately, the most recent example of these antics is a much more positive and innocent one, with Brown feigning a proposal to a fan for a pic. It’s quite the comical image out of context, and definitely not the first time that he’s had to do something like that. Regardless, she’s a lucky woman, and we’re sure she will boast about it, fake or not, for years to come.

Meanwhile, Summer Walker went official with her new man Coop recently, and we wish them all the best on their journey. Considering her complicated love life up until this point, this moment sadly fell under much undue scrutiny. But we have to give people a chance and maybe not stress out over who they’re dating. We’ll see if Chris Brown and Summer share any more moments from their time together.
