Chloe x Halle Unveil Collection With Victoria’s Secret

Chloe and Halle Bailey have finally unveiled their new campaign with Victoria Secret’s PINK. The musical duo’s exclusive collection is scheduled to be released on Tuesday (August 29). The announcement was recently shared on the pair’s official Instagram account. The capsule will be available in stores or online. The post noted that the sisters have been working on their latest collection for over a year.

“over a year in the making x it’s finally almost here! we’ve designed an exclusive collection with @vspink made JUST for you, our amazing #sirens don’t forget to shop online tomorrow or in select stores! hope you love as much as we do [heart emoji] #pinkpartner,” the post’s caption reads.

The post helps give fans a glimpse of what to expect for the drop. Judging by the pictures, the new collection is athleisure-inspired. From bright-colored activewear pieces to even a slinky, orange dress. Prior to this, the pair dropped their first capsule with the lingerie brand last year. The Bailey sisters seem to be pros when it comes to brand deals. Aside from VS PINK, the pair has done campaigns with Neutrogena, Crocs, and more. However, on a more sour note, the pair have been embroiled in some controversy as of late. Rumors have been swirling that Halle Bailey might be carrying a bun in the oven.

The Little Mermaid actress was spotted on her boyfriend DDG’s livestream with what appears to be a burgeoning baby bump. Following that, as a big sister should, Chloe responded to her sister’s critics online. “Y’all better keep my sister’s name out your mouth,” the “Body Do” singer said in a clip posted to her Instagram. But not everyone seems to be a fan of Chloe’s gesture. Internet personality and Fox Soul host Funky Dineva dragged the singer and actress for her comments. “Chloe Bailey is so goddamn lame to me,” Dineva began. “First of all, girl, you are Miss Preppy Ashley from the suburbs. Then you came out being all promiscuous, and now you’re trying to be a gangster.”

Yung Miami Orders Fans To “Leave Her Daddy Alone”

Yung Miami has made it clear that she doesn’t play around when it comes to family. The City Girls rapper recently took to Instagram to confront a few over-eager fans regarding her father. Apparently, after she shared a clip of her pops dancing around, some began to press the 29-year-old about her father’s dating life. However, Yung Miami doesn’t seem to be entertaining the foolishness.

“Y’all still inquiring about my dad because then I’m finna have to be cussing y’all hoes out, and doing all that,” she said in a clip posted to The Neighborhood Talk‘s Instagram page. “I don’t have to be doing all that with you, hoes. So just leave my daddy alone. Y’all don’t like older men anyway, ain’t it?”

She continued: “…Like just leave my daddy alone. ‘Cause my daddy gonna be calling me saying he got this hoe over here, and imma be like, ‘put this b*tch on the phone, you got my daddy f*cked up.’ B*tch, don’t be doing all that, for real.” The “Act Up” rapper later revealed that the clip of her father was from a recent party she held for her mother’s birthday. “My momma is an August Virgo, and my daddy is a September Virgo. And they are two different Virgos.” She also joked about her dad’s stellar dance moves.

On the music front, while they have yet to release an album date, the City Girls have returned with a new track. The duo’s latest effort, “Face Down,” captures the essence of the Miami natives. Featuring alongside an accompanying video, the two look better than ever as they advise women about getting what they want from men. In an April interview with The Cut, Yung Miami opened up about what fans can expect from the City Girls’ next album. “I don’t know like, it’s coming and it will sometime this summer-for real, for real, for real.” She continued, “When you’re doing a project, takes time. We’re trying to sit through it and make sure that’s what we want to put out. It’s gonna hit different.”

Jeezy Opens Up About New Memoir And Mental Health

Jeezy has recently opened up about his mental health struggles in a new interview. During a discussion with Vulture about his memoir, Adversity For Sale: Ya Gotta Believe, he says he lacked the words to express himself. “I didn’t always have the wording or the tools to understand what I was going through,” he said. Jeezy says he wants to pass along healthy habits to his community.

“As a Black man, we don’t really lean into that because we’re taught that’s weak,” he said. Prior to this, he discussed his experience with suicidal ideation with PEOPLE. “My friends became junkies, and they were getting killed and all these things. So it was all this stuff in my head,” he says. “I just remember standing there, and it was for a brief moment, I would say at least about 10 minutes, I actually contemplated jumping in the water.”

Luckily, the rapper pushed through and says he’s doing much better these days. “I was depressed, my mental health was off, and I went on the journey, and I’m still on the journey. Today, I can say that I’m honestly in a better place.” Jeezy says he addressed his own mental health struggles, hoping to inspire others. He continued: “You can have all the money in the world, but if your mental health ain’t right, You’re not going to be able to enjoy it.”

The rapper added: “I just want to put that in the book in a way that people can look at it and see the trauma in it.” Jeezy told Good Morning America he hopes the book also serves as inspiration for his audience to achieve their dreams. “I think people always tell you about their success stories, but one thing that I’ve learned about life is that in every failure, there’s a lesson,” he said.

Burna Boy Clarifies Comments On Black Americans

Burna Boy found himself in hot water a few weeks back for saying Black Americans “lack culture” during an interview. “Why do you think Chinese Americans have their respect?” he questioned. “They don’t go through the things that African Americans go through.” Burna Boy added, “You know why? Because the Chinese American has a base. He actually knows where he’s from in China. Italian Americans know where their grandparents came from in Italy… Same goes for everyone else except African-Americans.”

Almost immediately, he received criticism for his remarks. Recently, he had a sit-down with Complex to provide some clarity. The Nigerian singer says that his words got misinterpreted. He also claims he ignores the negative attention because “people have their own agendas.”

Burna Boy Says He Wants To Bring People Together

“My mission is to bring us together. My mission is to build a bridge that can’t be broken, a bridge that should’ve always been there,” he says. “So for me, that’s not really relevant. I don’t really look at none of that because I feel like when people say that they have their own agendas.” He also reflected on his comments about Malcolm X and Louis Farrakhan: “There’s nothing I said that Malcolm X didn’t say. There’s nothing I said that The Honorable Louis Farrakhan didn’t say. But, obviously, it’s Burna Boy saying it and he’s from Africa… All that’s beneath me. My mission and my movements [are] too divine for stupid sh*t like that.”

It seems that Burna Boy can’t escape drama these days. The singer/ songwriter is also facing backlash for his statements on Afrobeats. Burna Boy claims that many of the artists lack real “life experience.” In his opinion, the genre has become about “nothing.” Burna Boy also noted that music doesn’t have realistic depictions about the pitfalls of life. “That’s why you hear most Nigerian music, African Music, or Afrobeats, as people call it, is mostly about nothing, literally nothing. There is no substance to it, like nobody is talking about anything,” he told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe.

Diddy “Proud’ Of Athlete’s Foot From Going Hard In The Gym

Diddy is not one to shy away from putting his life on display — even when it may be too personal. The Bad Boy founder recently shared that he got a nasty case of Athlete’s Foot on social media. Diddy says it comes after he’s been going hard in the gym. Surprisingly, the musician and producer is quite proud of himself. “You know I been locked in,” he said in a clip of his foot posted to The Shade Room‘s Instagram. “It’s a proud day today. I been on my three-a-day workouts, and I got athlete’s foot.”

Fans left some hilarious responses in the post’s comment section about the rapper’s feet. “This the foot they used in 12yrs a slave,” one person joked. Whereas another user said: “Y’all a lil too comfortable with these construction worker feet posts.” However, one person went as far as questioning Diddy’s hygiene. “So he’s part of the ‘don’t wash their feet,’ club. Too rich to be itchin,” they wrote.

The Harlem-bred native seems to take the phrase” health is wealth” very seriously. In recent years, Diddy has become an exercise fanatic. On any random day, you’ll find him sharing a clip from an intense workout. It doesn’t hurt that he’s a billionaire, which allows him to hire personal chefs, trainers, and dieticians to maintain a healthy lifestyle. On the music side of things, Diddy recently unveiled the trailer for his upcoming album, The Love Album: Off the Grid.

The trailer finds him reflecting on life as well as looking toward the future. “Why am I doing this? Especially with the success that I’ve had, especially where my life, how stressful and treacherous this music business is,” the trailer begins. He continued: “My heart has been broken. I still have that question of, like, ‘Will I ever love again?’” As the trailer progresses, we see snapshots of Diddy’s life — from his relationship with the late model Kim Porter and bonding with his daughter, Love Sean Combs, to behind-the-scenes footage of him working in the studio.

Burna Boy On Afrobeats: “They Lack Substance”

Burna Boy’s recent comments seem to have rubbed people the wrong way. During a recent interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, the Nigerian-bred singer shared his thoughts about the lack of substance involved in Afrobeats. Burna Boy claims that many of the artists lack real “life experience.” In his opinion, the genre has become about “nothing” “Half of them … 90% of them, have almost no real-life experiences that they can understand.”

Burna Boy also noted that music doesn’t have realistic depictions about the pitfalls of life. “That’s why you hear most Nigerian music, African Music, or Afrobeats, as people call it, is mostly about nothing, literally nothing. There is no substance to it, like nobody is talking about anything. It’s just a great time, an amazing time. But at the end of the day, life isn’t an amazing time,” he told Lowe.

Burna Boy Has Faced Major Backlash Over His Comments

After clips of the interview made its rounds on social media, many people blasted the artist for his statements. “This is ignorance at its peak! A great time is not ‘nothing’. It is something. Something tangible. Afrobeats has lifted a lot of people out of depression. During #EndSARS protested using Davido’s FEM as our anthem. @burnaboy should stop capping rubbish just because he wants to sell his album,” one person wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). Whereas another user said: “Overall, he could have passed his message without making the genre look bad. I’m a big time Burna Boy fan by the way, but the truth has to be said.”

Another person commented: “Man just lose it saying this.. disrespecting people work! This is odd bruv.” However, some offered a different perspective, and believed Burna Boy might have had a point. “He actually said Most of “Afrobreats” and in this context I’m sure he’s referring to Albums. When you listen to most of these “Afrobeats” albums, it’s just a collection of maybe hit songs and even some you don’t get the album feeling to it at all. That doesn’t even mean we don’t have good Afrobeats stuff out there,” someone wrote.

Romeo Miller is taking the role of proud papa to a whole new level. On Saturday (August 19), the 34-year-old rapper took to Instagram to share a beautiful montage of his children, River Rose and Winter Snoh. The heartwarming post seemingly works as a tribute to this new era in his life. “This video says it all. My home! Being a DAD is the greatest adventure of my life,” Miller wrote. “Man I am so in love and proud of these two girls River & Winter! The best gifts I’ve ever received. Thank you God and Drew, and thank you to all whom sent amazing energy and messages today!”

He continued: “My wish? To make this planet a better place for our little ones, that’s the ultimate GIFT. La vie est belle! Romans 12:2.” Romeo Miller’s comment section seemed to applaud the rapper/actor’s outlook on fatherhood. “Awesome… I wish all parents realize the importance of being available and active in their children’s life from the beginning, this is the start of breaking generational curses. Another fan added,” You deserve the joy Romeo, ur such a beautiful soul, humble and God fearing, God blessed u with 2 lil princesses… fatherhood looks good on you..proud of ya.” Miller welcomed his first daughter, River Rose, on February 14, 2022, and his second, Winter Snoh, on March 15, 2023. As he announced Winter’s arrival on Instagram, he called fatherhood his “most fulfilling” achievement.

He began: “I introduce to you my fearless, intuitive, and ingenious daughter; WINTER SNOH MILLER! My heart is so full knowing that my girls will have each other as they grow. I’m a papa of 2!” He continued: “I’ve accomplished a lot of things in my life, but becoming a father is by far the best and most fulfilling. You made me see. Psalms 127:3. #ThankYouGod #GirlDad #LovesOfMyLife #Happy.” However, the rapper and his own father weren’t getting along well earlier this year. When his sister, TyTyana Miller, reportedly passed away from a drug overdose, he criticized his father, Master P, for putting on for the public rather than dealing with family matters. Nevertheless, they eventually mended fences after trading shots online.

Jermaine Dupri Addresses Tweet About Hip Hop 50 Events In ATL

Jermaine Dupri seemed to rub folks the wrong way with his tweet about brands not honoring Atlanta’s contributions during Hip Hop’s 50th anniversary. “no brands have done any dinners or get-togethers in Atlanta celebrating the 50 anniversary of Hip Hop,” he wrote on Friday (August 18). His comments sparked a firestorm of controversy as his tweet made its rounds on social media.

However, not a ton of folks seemed to agree with Jermaine Dupri. Since the post, he’s received an onslaught of criticism, with fans asking why doesn’t he do it himself. “Nigga ain’t YOU a brand from Atlanta?! Why YOU ain’t do nothing,” one person commented. Another fan wrote: “I’m not even trying to be rude. I consider you a legend. So I’m wondering why don’t you do one?’” Conversely, on Monday (August 21), Dupri returned to Twitter to address the negative feedback.

Jermaine Dupri Says He Has No Beef With Hip Hop 50 Events In New York

Dupri also made it clear that he has no beef with New York and that his sentiments were regarding business. “I see someone is trying to take my tweet and create the narrative that [I’m] mad about what’s been happening in NY for #HipHop50 compared to what’s been happening in Atlanta, lol that’s completely false,” he tweeted. “My statement was all [business] related.”

In other related news, Jermaine Dupri and Drake have teamed up for a docu-series about the iconic Atlanta club, Magic City. The series will detail the back story of the famous venue and its decades-long influence on rap. Charles Todd will serve as the director of Magic City: An American Fantasy. 2 Chainz, Nelly, Shaquille O’Neal, Quavo, Killer Mike, and Big Boi, among others, will all be making appearances. “Magic City is a second home for me. It’s the one place where celebrities, hustlers, politicians, and Atlanta locals all come together. I’ve watched it evolve over the years from a local joint to an internationally recognized spot. It’s about time we tell this story the right way,” executive producer Dupri said in a statement.

LL Cool J Says Older Rappers Wanting To Retire Are “Insecure”

Despite having an amazing career and legacy spanning several decades, LL Cool J makes it clear he’s not stopping anytime soon. In his opinion, all rappers should feel that way, especially the older generation. During a recent appearance on Sway’s Universe, the iconic pioneer shared his thoughts on ageism in rap. He believes that music artists don’t have to flirt with retirement in the same way athletes do. He even took it a step further and claimed that it could actually make you insecure. “Hip Hop is not a sport,” he began. “It’s like playing guitar or the horn…” He continued: “So I don’t have to stop doing what I do and stop recording at 34.”

LL added, “I hear artists all the time flirting with retirement, and that’s really insecurity. Because they don’t know whether or not they’re gonna be able to continue on in their careers. At least that’s how it comes off to me.” The rapper also noted that it comes off as a lack of gratitude. “You’re in a position to have a great career, and you’re flirting with retirement for absolutely no reason.”

The Queens native isn’t known for biting his tongue. So when DJ Akademiks called rappers from his generation washed up and “dusty,” he didn’t hold back. “Don’t think just because somebody knows how to get money, or fails to get money, that they didn’t make a contribution to the culture. No one discusses Miles Davis’s bank account. We don’t talk about John Coltrane’s bank account. We don’t talk about a lot of Rock musicians’ bank accounts. A lot of great Country artists, we don’t talk about their bank accounts,” LL said in a video posted to his Instagram.

He continued: “Nobody believed in it. How can you make a 5-year plan or a 10-year plan on something that doesn’t even exist yet?” he said. “So just because [Hip Hop pioneers] didn’t get rich, just because they weren’t able to pile up millions or billions of dollars, does not mean that they didn’t make a contribution to this culture.”
