Romeo Miller Credits His Success To The Game Of Basketball

Romeo Miller Says Eminem “Doesn’t Get The Recognition He Deserves”

Romeo Miller has been in the limelight since he was a child, exploding onto the scene with his debut single “My Baby” when he was just 12 years old. Fast forward to 2023, he uses his platform to inspire, motivate, and give back to the masses.

Last week during the Future Stars Charity Gala, the 34-year-old was honored with the Community Impact Award alongside Blac Chyna and Don Benjamin. The formal attire/black tie event served as a fundraiser raise money for underprivileged kids in the community who can’t afford basketball clinics or camps.

Eszylfie Taylor, owner and founder of the Future Stars Basketball Camp, introduces Romeo by stating he’s “a multi-faceted star within film, television, music, sports, and philanthropy. As a highly-paid actor, artist and entrepreneur, he’s a devoted father of two beautiful little girls, girl dad! Early in his career, this individual broke Michael Jackson’s record for being the youngest artist to win a Billboard Artist and Single of the Year awards. Despite the successes, he’s a devout Christian, philanthropist, and recognized as a National Ambassador for MLK Commission. His community work has helped raise millions in funding towards elevating youth in their communities. It was an honor to present this Community Impact Award to Romeo Miller.”

Romeo Miller then took the time to deliver a heartfelt speech, upon receiving his award.

“Simply in the Bible, in Mark 9:23, it says that if you believe that anything truly is possible. I feel that’s what my career has been, starting at the age of 10 years old and having so much success. They say to master a craft or be a pro at something, you need to have at least 10,000 hours. Already right now, I already have 150,000 hours of mastering my craft. I want to thank you for honoring me because a lot of people usually don’t see that hard work, what it takes to have a career over 20 plus years of success and positivity before the age of 30.”

Romeo then delivers a message for the youth: “basketball and any sport is the game of life. It’s the blueprint of life. We got anybody who went to USC? Are there any Trojans? There we go. I won a college championship, a PAC-10 championship with DeMar DeRozan. I always tell the kids: that sport — that basketball, that football, that golf ball, that tennis ball, that represents your dream. However much work you put into it, that’s what you’re gonna get out of it. Your coach represents your parents. Whether you have a good one or a bad one, you’re gonna have to learn how to navigate the cards you were dealt.”

“Those fans: you might have fans that cheer for you, fans that cheer against you,” Romeo continues. “They have no effect on your goal unless you let them. That’s why it’s so important, camps like this, Future Stars because basketball is the game of life. And I give so much of my success, so much of my mental strength of playing the great game of basketball.”

Romeo prides himself in being a prime example.

“I have a new car company called Trion,” he states. “We want to make kids know they could do anything. You can be in the automotive system, you could be an astronaut. We’re using this to help kids be inspired. I want to thank all y’all beautiful people for coming out here, because this is how we make the change. This is how we make a difference. I want to dedicate this award to my late great, beautiful little sister in heaven, Tatiana Miller. Everything I do is for you now.”

Romeo Miller Says Eminem “Doesn’t Get The Recognition He Deserves”

Romeo Miller recently received the Community Impact Award at the Future Stars Charity Gala, delivering a heartfelt speech connecting his success in entertainment to his success in sports. Real name Percy Miller first received a scholarship to hoop at USC, with his basketball career ending as the result of an injury.

The Source enjoyed attending the gala and speaking with Romeo about the moment he fell in love with Hip-Hop.

When asked about the moment he fell in love with Hip-Hop, Romeo answers: “I used to like a lot of Slick Rick when I was growing up. I thought it was cool with the patch on the eye. LL Cool J, they used to call me LL Cool Rome. But if I’m being truthful, I fell in love with music in general from Selena. I grew up in Texas. She brought me closer in a weird way to Hip-Hop. A lot of people don’t know that, but I used to be bumping Selena a lot down in H-town. I grew up in Mo City and Sugar Land. She brought me closer to Hip-Hop.”

Romeo makes it a point to remind us that music is a connection to everything, no matter the type. He then recalls his favorite moments before pivoting to one of his favorite artists: Eminem.

“Them Lil Romeo days?” Romeo asks. “Eminem was the man! I remember being in Canada, Eminem was everywhere. Everywhere I travel. I don’t think he gets the recognition that he deserves, or the flowers, because this generation don’t really know the work he put in. But seeing somebody like him, a white boy who could outrap everybody, that was crazy. Me even growing up in Hip-Hop, we never seen like that.”

As far as Romeo’s favorite Eminem song, he names “Lose Yourself” and “Toy Soldiers.” He explains, “I used to be bumping ‘Toy Soldiers’ all day, every day. So shout to Em.”

Romeo Miller is taking the role of proud papa to a whole new level. On Saturday (August 19), the 34-year-old rapper took to Instagram to share a beautiful montage of his children, River Rose and Winter Snoh. The heartwarming post seemingly works as a tribute to this new era in his life. “This video says it all. My home! Being a DAD is the greatest adventure of my life,” Miller wrote. “Man I am so in love and proud of these two girls River & Winter! The best gifts I’ve ever received. Thank you God and Drew, and thank you to all whom sent amazing energy and messages today!”

He continued: “My wish? To make this planet a better place for our little ones, that’s the ultimate GIFT. La vie est belle! Romans 12:2.” Romeo Miller’s comment section seemed to applaud the rapper/actor’s outlook on fatherhood. “Awesome… I wish all parents realize the importance of being available and active in their children’s life from the beginning, this is the start of breaking generational curses. You are awesome,” one person wrote.

Another fan added,” You deserve the joy Romeo, ur such a beautiful soul, humble and God fearing, God blessed u with 2 lil princesses… fatherhood looks good on you..proud of ya.” Miller welcomed his first daughter, River Rose, on February 14, 2022, and his second, Winter Snoh, on March 15, 2023. As he announced Winter’s arrival on Instagram, he called fatherhood his “most fulfilling” achievement.

He began: “I introduce to you my fearless, intuitive, and ingenious daughter; WINTER SNOH MILLER! My heart is so full knowing that my girls will have each other as they grow. I’m a papa of 2!” He continued: “I’ve accomplished a lot of things in my life, but becoming a father is by far the best and most fulfilling. You made me see. Psalms 127:3. #ThankYouGod #GirlDad #LovesOfMyLife #Happy.” However, the rapper and his own father weren’t getting along well earlier this year. When his sister, TyTyana Miller, reportedly passed away from a drug overdose, he criticized his father, Master P, for putting on for the public rather than dealing with family matters. Nevertheless, they eventually mended fences after trading shots online.

Romeo Miller Welcomes Baby No. 2: “Fearless, Intuitive… Winter Snoh!”

And just like that, Romeo Miller is a father of two. In a world where celebrities share just about every bit of their personal lives, Miller popped up on Instagram this week to introduce his youngest daughter, Winter Snoh. The musician-actor and his girlfriend Drew Sangster are clearly excited to expand their growing family, and Miller gave a first look at his baby girl. “My tribe is growing. I introduce to you my fearless, intuitive, and ingenious daughter; WINTER SNOH MILLER!” he wrote.

“My heart is so full knowing that my girls will have each other as they grow. I’m a papa of 2! I’ve accomplished a lot of things in my life, but becoming a father is by far the best and most fulfilling. You made me see. Psalms 127:3. #ThankYouGod #GirlDad #LovesOfMyLife #Happy 💕💕💕.” It was in February last year that Miller and Sangster welcomed their firstborn, River Rose. The girls are close to being what is known as “Irish Twins,” or children who are born less than 12 months apart.

Romeo Miller Wanted To Be A Dad

Prior to entering fatherhood, Miller expressed his desire to be a dad. “Best believe Imma be a father next year,” he joked back in 2020. Miller wasn’t too far off; he soon emerged to share his relationship with Sangster, and a year later, the pair were preparing for the arrival of their eldest. The well wishes and celebratory messages poured in for the couple after their first arrival, but not everyone was kind. Last year, Miller told Page Six that with the announcement of his daughter came jealous messages from women who claimed to be his fans. They weren’t happy to see that Miller went from a bachelor’s life to a family man.

“I have lost a lot of fans,” he said at the time. “A lot of females sent me hate mail when I had my daughter because a lot of people felt like it was supposed to be themAnd as crazy as that sounds, I kind of felt that pressure growing up.” He added, “Being a child star, you have a different connection with your fans. It’s like your fans are really a part of your life. So I think that’s why it took so long [for me to have a child] because I was like when that day comes, I got to make sure it’s with the right person.”

Master P Is A Grandfather Once Again

Meanwhile, grandpa Master P has yet to comment on the latest addition to the Miller family. It’s unclear if Romeo and his leading lady plan to continue to have more children, but two in 13 months shows they’re lavishing in parenthood. Check out the photos above and try not to get hit with Baby Fever.

Romeo Miller Addresses Feud With Master P: “Some Things Bleed Out”

Nobody wins when the family feuds, says Jay-Z, but Master P and Romeo Miller recently went at it. The private Miller family suffered a devastating loss when TyTyana Miller passed away. It was reported that she died of a drug overdose, as she was said to have struggled with addiction for some time.

Initially, it seemed as if the Millers were a solid front as they shared their grief publicly. However, Romeo accused his father of being more concerned with putting on for the public than dealing with family issues. The father-son duo traded shots on social media but later revealed they’d mended fences.

Yesterday (January 12), influencers gathered for the Rap Snacks Disrupt 2023 Conference, Feed The Soul: A Conversation On Culture, Community, Family and Creating Wealth. While on the red carpet, Baller Alert caught up with Romeo about the controversy.

“People was saying it’s for publicity and this and that,” he said. “My thing is, this is just about life. And if you’re gonna be a celebrity, if you’re gonna be a public figure, you’re gonna have to have some things bleed out and deal with it and try to use it as an example for others to learn from you.”

“It’s all about communication. That’s all. No family is perfect,” he continued. “But, just like you watch other celebrities’ lives, a woman can go through a miscarriage, you’re watching that. A man and a woman could go through the best time of having a wedding, and they didn’t want anybody there, but if you are in the public eye, if you are a celebrity, the things you wanna show are gonna come out, and the things you don’t wanna show.”

“You gotta be strong enough to know who you are, what you stand for, to deal with the ridicule and misunderstanding that’s gon’ come with it.”

Elsewhere, Romeo admitted he has baby fever. He’s approaching one year as a father, and he’s ready for more.

“I don’t know if I’m gonna be Nick Cannon but I wouldn’t mind 10 babies,” he had I’ve been going through a lot in life, and my daughter, just looking into her eyes and seeing that baby’s smile. When I’m tired, she’s next to me and ‘Da Da.’ Waking up so happy. It’s the purest love.”

Master P and Romeo Miller Make Amends: ‘It Was Never About Parent vs. Child’

Master P and Romeo Miller Make Amends: ‘It Was Never About Parent vs. Child'

As 2022 drew to a close, a rift between Master P and his son Romeo Miller appeared to be brewing. In case you missed it, Master P and Romeo aired each other out on social media, exposing issues in their relationship.

Romeo would hit social media on New Year’s Eve and reveal “very hard conversations” were had, leading to a healthy place the duo will enter in 2023 with.

“In order to be used, you have to be willing to be misunderstood and humiliated sometimes. Noah was mocked for building the boat, Jairus showed us that sometimes we have to be willing to walk through the dead places so that God could show us how he can use every situation, no one ever thought little David could defeat the giant, and we all know the mistreatment of Jesus. My point, I’m willing to fall on my sword for mines! It was never about parent vs child, or this false narrative or that, it was about doing whatever had to be done for the growth of my family. Today, December 31st, me and my father @masterp had very hard conversations; ironically outside in the rain, but in order for any generation to grow, that communication has to be had and reciprocated on both sides. The good, the bad, and the ugly. No matter the journey ahead, our family can truly begin to heal and I believe many others will use our story as an example to learn from. What a way to close the year! Vivre (live) l’amour (love) et pardonner (forgive). #ForTyty”

Romeo Miller Wants Lie Detector Test To Prove Claims About Master P

Nobody wins when the family feuds, or so Jay-Z says, but Master P and Romeo Miller are at odds. The father-son duo engaged in a war of words on social media, and just when you thought it was over, the tension was reignited. Romeo returned to Instagram to share a few more thoughts about his rift with his father.

“I have nothing to fear or lie about,” he wrote. “I want everybody to support my dad and his interviews and then I’ll follow back up and sit down with the same people with a lie detector test.”

This all started after P penned a post about the death of Stephen “tWitch” Boss. The beloved DJ and social media star took his own life. Romeo had an issue with his father’s acknowledgment of Boss’s death and suggested the No Limit icon wasn’t attentive to his own children’s needs.

Master P said it all boiled down to money, but Romeo stated that wasn’t the case.

“Please stop with the sob story, this ain’t about money,” he continued. “You know no matter how much you take, I’ve never asked you to pay for any of my bills as an adult, I’m good good.”

This latest post from Romeo stems from a recent interview Master P did with Nino Brown. The former child star was disappointed with his father’s comments about their ongoing division.

“This interview showed your true colors,” he said. “Love ya but I can’t protect that. Take a page from Mike Tyson, your real truth will inspire even the next generation.”
