Cardi B Wants To Collaborate With Lil Kim On Her Upcoming Album

On the heels of her newest single, “Hot Sh*t,” Cardi B stopped by Hot 97 to talk about her upcoming sophomore album. While she did not reveal a title or release date for the album, she did share that she had ideas for some collaborations on the album. As for one of the collaborations, Cardi noted that she wants to collaborate with fellow New York City native Lil Kim on her record.

“I even hit her up, I want Lil Kim on my album,” she said. “I do have a song that I think, ‘Aight she’s good for it,’ but then I’m also debating on another song. Because I kinda want her on this one, too. What I really wanted to do was like an ‘Aunt Dot’ with her. … But then I’m kinda debating, is that gonna be a little bit outdated? How’s it gonna be? … I just want the song I do with her, I want it to be like a super, like, great comeback. I just don’t want to put her on my album on a song and it’s like, ‘Cool, yeah, she had a Lil’ Kim feature.’ I want this to be like her insane…her moment.”

Earlier today, Cardi took to Twitter to answer questions from fans. During her impromptu Q&A, she said she would also like to collaborate with Latto. She also expressed a desire to make an all-Spanish album, as well as a collaborative mixtape with her husband, Offset.

Dream Doll Recreates Lil Kim’s Iconic Look for One Of Hip-Hop’s Biggest Nights

dream doll

Dream Doll took the stage at Hot 97’s Summer Jam Sunday night in an outfit that resembled an iconic look that was all too familiar. The ‘Ice Cream Dream’ rapper payed homage to the Queen Bee by recreating the one sleeved jumpsuit she wore to the 1999 MTV Music Awards, which exposed one breast and that Diana Ross most famously jiggled while they were onstage presenting an award.  The look, created by Stylist/Designer extraordinaire Misa Hylton, was made of a lilac fabric with silver and purple seashells embroidered throughout, which famously exposed one breast covering Kim’s nipple with a seashell pasty. Dream Doll recreates and updates the same look using camouflage and sparkles on both the jumpsuit and on the one exposed breast.  In a past interview with “Pop Sugar” Misa shared where she got the inspiration for the look.   “Missy Elliott actually inspired the look,” Misa said. “We were hanging out one weekend and we were talking about fashion and Lil’ Kim, and she said, ‘You know what? If I was Kim, I would just say f*ck it and I would have one titty out.’ Because Kim could do some crazy sh*t like that. So I just said, wow, that would be kind of hot. So I saved the idea, and the next big event we had was the 1999 MTV Music Awards.”  Today, the iconic purple pasty jumpsuit for Lil Kim is archived in a secret location.

CJ Wallace Honors The Notorious B.I.G With His ‘One More Chance’ Performance At The B.I.G Dinner Gala

Like father, like son. In a warm moment this past weekend, CJ Wallace, son of The Notorious B.I.G, took the stage and delivered a spirited performance of his late father’s classic record “One More Chance.” He chose no better time to do so, rapping along with those who also attended the second annual B.I.G Dinner Gala. This year’s event was especially significant as this would have been the Brooklyn legend’s 50th birthday.

Lil Kim spearheaded The B.I.G Dinner Gala, partnering with Pepsi and Lexus to put on the event at New York City’s Guastavino’s. Fat Joe, Havoc, Sway, and many more came out to celebrate Biggie’s legacy, which has stood firmly atop the music game despite now being gone for 25 years. Media veteran Sway even took the stage to share some of his memories with B.I.G before the performances began.

The gala aligns with The Notorious B.I.G’s most recent posthumous release “G.O.A.T” featuring Ty Dolla Sign and Bella Alubo. The track utilizes his verses from “I Love The Dough” in a completely reimagined way over Afrobeats production on his first release in 17 years. Last week, New York City Mayor Eric Adams declared that May 19 would forever be known as ‘Biggie Day’, in addition to various other celebratory measures the city displayed over the week.
