During a recent interview, Emmy-winning actor Billy Porter opened up about the financial strain the recent actors’ strike has put on him. He told the Evening Standard that his upcoming projects have been delayed, meaning that his income has been slashed in recent months. “None of that is happening,” he revealed, “I have to sell my house.” He continued, “Yeah! Because we’re on strike. And I don’t know when we’re gonna go back. The life of an artist, until you make f*ck-you money – which I haven’t made yet – is still check-to-check.”

The actor went on to cite an article published by Deadline last month, which showcased accounts from various executives weighing in on the strike anonymously. In the article, one executive shared that the goal of studios was to wait the strike out until strikers began feeling the consequences of striking. “The endgame is to allow things to drag on until union members start losing their apartments and losing their houses,” they claimed.

“So to the person who said, ‘We’re going to starve them out until they have to sell their apartments’ – you’ve already starved me out,” Porter explained. He went on to call out the CEO of Disney, Bob Iger, who recently dubbed the expectations of strikers “unrealistic.” “In the late 50s, early 60s, when they structured a way for artists to be compensated properly through residual [payments], it allowed for the two percent of working actors – and there are 150,000 people in our union – who work consistently … Then streaming came in,” Porter says.

“There’s no contract for it,” the actor continued. “And they don’t have to be transparent with the numbers – it’s not Nielsen ratings anymore. The streaming companies are notoriously opaque with their viewership figures. The business has evolved. So the contract has to evolve and change, period. To hear Bob Iger say that our demands for a living wage are unrealistic? While he makes $78,000 a day? I don’t have any words for it, but: f*ck you.”

A touching new clip shows Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson giving Zimbabwe-born UFC fighter Themba Gorimbo a meaningful gift. It begins with Gorimbo recounting his experience of receiving a social media message from Johnson. Johnson later sneaks up behind Gorimbo, surprising him as he shares how grateful he was for his acknowledgment. The duo then share an emotional hug, and Gorimbo is seen promising Johnson to become a champion. “You inspired me to work hard, man,” he tells Johnson.

Later in the clip, Gorimbo shows Johnson where he’s been sleeping in order to train in Miami. He says that since there weren’t any rooms left, he told owners he’d be willing to sleep anywhere just to get an opportunity to train. He then revealed a humble area in the corner of a room with a pull-out couch that he sleeps on. Johnson is moved when the UFC fighter shows him a list labeled “my reason,” hanging on the wall. Johnson shared the clip on Instagram alongside a sweet message to Gorimbo. “You and your family enjoy your new house brother,” it begins. “Lights are on. Bills are paid. Man Tried To Blow Up Barack Obama’s House & Was Arrested, Had Jan. 6 Warrants

According to CBS News, authorities arrested a man outside of Barack Obama’s house for trying to blow it up. Moreover, officials believe the suspect participated in the January 6, 2021 attacks on the Capitol, which constituted an insurrection, as he has multiple active warrants for the incident. Furthermore, reports indicate that Secret Service agents spotted the suspect, Taylor Taranto, approaching the former president‘s home from blocks away. As he tried to flee, he ran towards Obama’s residency before agents took him into custody. Once more police forces arrived, they discovered his nearby van and found dangerous materials inside that suggested plans to damage the property.

To elaborate, authorities found multiple weapons inside the vehicle, as well as materials to make explosive devices. Specifically, Taranto allegedly possessed the necessary materials to make a bomb-like device similar to a Molotov cocktail. However, officials failed to find a pre-made or assembled explosive device, as all they got their hands on were the materials in question. Still, Taranto said that he actually had explosives in his possession, but first respondents did not find any in the vehicle or nearby.

Barack Obama’s Home Almost Bombed By Suspected January 6 Insurrectionist

What’s more is that state officials already had Taranto on their radar thanks to the aforementioned warrants and to more recent activity on social media. For example, he reportedly made multiple threats against Obama during livestreams, although the nature of these was not specified in published reports. In addition, he apparently reposted a post from former president Donald Trump on the platform Truth Social on Thursday (June 29). This post allegedly contained what was believed to be Obama’s home address, and while it’s unclear how accurate this information was, it apparently led him to the home regardless.

With all that in mind, officials believe that this attack was targeted. Taranto reportedly received charges of being a fugitive of justice, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Fortunately, other news concerning the former president as of late has been much more positive, and hopefully it returns to that trend. Riff Raff Offers $500k To Use Drake‘s Home Studio

Riff Raff has offered up $500,000 to rent out Drake’s home studio for two according to the studio booking app, Stufinder. The company revealed Riff Raff’s move on Twitter, over the weekend. They later announced that they’d be pausing the listing for Drake’s spot until the rapper confirms that he is the one who put up the offer.

“We have reached out to Drake and his team to get confirmation that he did in fact list his home recording studio on our app,” the company said in a statement. “Session requests can be sent to the studio but to prevent a scam, we have paused the ability for the studio to accept bookings till we receive confirmation. RiFF RAFF’s payment is currently on hold and will be refunded if we don’t receive confirmation. We will verify all studios before allowing bookings.” In the listing on Stufinder, the description notes that a “Drake feature is not included” in the purchase of any studio time.

Blueface took to Twitter recently to explain why his house is listed as being in pre-foreclosure status. While last week saw some wild turns for him and his boo Chrisean Rock, their public fights aren’t all he has to worry about. Moreover, police labeled his house a “nuisance” due to too many 911 calls in the area.

“They tryna take my 2nd house because the police has labeled it as a ‘nuisance’ to the area,” he tweeted. “Due to…to many 911 calls for Robbery shootings fights ETC. I know ak thought he ate an had a way to say he had more doe then me but money can’t fix everything ak has 1 house he’s renting.”

Of course, Blueface tied this to his ongoing beef with DJ Akademiks. Furthermore, he unleashed a barrage of subsequent tweets about the media personality. For example, he went at his old age, his business, his feud with Lil Baby, and his character. However, whether Akademiks responds to this barrage is yet to be seen.
