Lil Wayne Releasing New Music With Wheezy Very Soon: Details

It looks like Lil Wayne might be dropping some new material very soon, and while this isn’t an official announcement, has he ever had a reputation for not being incredibly prolific? Moreover, this is based on a Universal Music pre-save link that surfaced online, according to LWHQ, that showed the artwork for a release titled “Weezy vs Wheezy.” Both the former Hot Boy and the Mississippi producer appear on the cover, but it’s unclear whether this is a new song or an upcoming project. Either way, this report and the link indicates that this will come out April 5, so we’ll see if this is all true very soon.

Furthermore, this also follows some other exciting news about the New Orleans legend delivering some new material on the horizon. Rapsody recently announced her next album Please Don’t Cry, on which Lil Wayne will appear with a special guest feature alongside Erykah Badu, Hit-Boy, and more. Perhaps that will be his main focus when it comes to 2024 releases: building notable collaborations with his peers. Considering that Tunechi is one of the most legendary collaborators and feature artists in hip-hop history, we can’t say we’d complain.

Lil Wayne & Wheezy Collab Might Drop On 4/5

What’s more is that he’s already proven how notable a guest spot for him can be on a new release this year, if only for the widely promoted, highly visible, and curiously surprising nature of a particular collab. Regardless of what you thought of Yeat’s new album 2093, the 41-year-old’s inclusion on “Lyfestyle” definitely cemented his crossover ability, versatility, and openness to working with the new generation. Although Lil Wayne didn’t blow any minds on there in our opinion, it was still great to see him outside of his comfort zone. Perhaps this supposed Wheezy collab will result in a similar sight.

Meanwhile, the Young Money boss might be dropping new music with his son soon, too. After all, he’s been teasing a lot of wild new material online, much to the amusement of fans of his father. But there’s nothing like a father-son rap collab to at the very least capture the hearts of their listenership. For more news and the latest updates on Lil Wayne, log back into HNHH.

Lil Wayne Gets House Visit From Skip Bayless

Lil Wayne and Skip Bayless have quite the special and unexpected relationship. Moreover, the NBA commentary star recently swung by Weezy’s house, which is far from the first time they’ve linked up in private settings. For example, the New Orleans rapper’s pregame for Rolling Loud Los Angeles this year was nothing other than a chat with Bayless at the former’s home. Given that Tunechi has often stopped by his show to talk about sports, and how they say they talk about so much more behind closed doors, this definitely won’t be the last time we see them together. However, recent news showed how their joint efforts to help out one of the most divisive NBA stars right now allegedly weren’t as well-received as they intended.

Furthermore, according to Skip Bayless on his podcast, Ja Morant refused to have Bayless connect him with the legendary MC. “Lil Wayne texted me,” the LeBron hater remarked. “He said, ‘Hey, can you connect me with Ja? Because I could help him. I’ve been there. I’ve done all this. I wound up in prison on Riker’s Island. [Wayne] knows what happens. I know where you can go wrong and I know what’s right.’ I said, ‘I’ll try.’ I reached out to Ja; ‘Would you sit with Lil Wayne? Would you talk with Lil Wayne?’ Wayne would fly to Memphis in a heartbeat tonight. Wayne would private plane it and go right to Memphis if he thought he could save a career and a soul.” Apparently, Bayless never heard back, though the Grizzlies guard would probably and understandably might like to keep things private right now.

Skip Bayless Visits Lil Wayne

Regardless, Bayless explained why the two are such good friends, and why they’ll continue to support each other in endeavors like these. In a quote-tweet of a clip of his breakdown, he summed things up. “I am deeply proud of my relationship with Lil Wayne,” he expressed. “I love the man and I am so proud of him for what he has become. There’s only one other human I talk sports with off-air…that’s Wayne.”

Meanwhile, many joked that the 40-year-old MC could be the next co-host of Undisputed. While that would be an absolute treat to see, he’s also quite the busy man. Regardless, we’re sure that there will only be more great moments and discussions from these two to come. On that note, check back in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on Skip Bayless and Lil Wayne.

Lil Wayne Abruptly Ends His Last Tour Stop In Los Angeles

Unfortunately, it looks like Lil Wayne’s last “Welcome To Tha Carter” tour stop in Los Angeles brought the trek to a sour close. Moreover, the rapper reportedly showed up late to The Wiltern on Saturday night (May 13), and fans say he had low energy. Still, it seems like the self-proclaimed “best rapper alive” was putting on a solid set for his fans, going through many of his classics. However, the inciting incident came when Weezy took a brief intermission, letting his Young Money artists Lil Twist, Yaj Kader, and Allan Cubas perform. Apparently the crowd’s reaction didn’t please the New Orleans MC, and he wrapped things up early.

“We appreciate it, but we ain’t about to be bending over backwards for these folks,” Lil Wayne expressed when Cubas was about to perform his second song. We work too hard for this shit, we work way too hard. This my motherf***in’ artist Allan, that was Twist, that was Yaj; we are Young Money. We appreciate y’all time.” Given that his team canceled the show’s scheduled livestream, maybe we should’ve known something was up.

Lil Wayne Cancels His Los Angeles Concert Mid-Show

Regardless, it’s quite sad to see such a legendary rapper have that reaction during his tour’s last show. Whether you blame Lil Wayne for his actions or the crowd for their seemingly unenthused energy, it’s not a pretty sight. In fact, other issues that the “Welcome To Tha Carter” tour faced seem to have been handled in a more smooth way. For example, he canceled his Atlanta show and let fans know that they would reschedule. In contrast, this seems to be a much more unprompted and tense cancellation.

Obviously, a lot of people expressed anger, disappointment, disbelief, and frustration online. As of writing this article, it seems that the “Kant Nobody” MC has yet to respond to backlash or address the show’s abrupt end in any way. No matter which side you blame or how much you may empathize with Tunechi’s frustration and rights as an artist, this is not the way any anticipated tour should end. Regardless, stay logged into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Lil Wayne.

Lil Wayne Declares Himself “The Best Rapper Alive” During Performance

Of all the rappers who can say they’re the greatest MC on this planet right now, Lil Wayne is arguably the most deserving of that title. Sure, that debate is decades old at this point and will never fade, but who else is currently on Weezy’s level? Whether it’s due to his historic catalog or his most recent excellent singles and features, either category holds massive weight. Also, you have to take into account that when it comes to the current rap wave, few (if any) rappers laid its groundwork as consequentially as the New Orleans lyricist. Of course, Wayne knows this, and declared as such during his final stop of the “Welcome To Tha Carter” tour.

“I am the realest motherf***er in the game right now,” Lil Wayne told the crowd at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, California on Saturday night (May 13). “Ladies and gentlemen, I don’t give a f**k what you think you’re looking at, but you are looking at the best rapper alive.” The “Kant Nobody” rhymer gave fans a stunning set for his final tour stop of his trek, although it came as a disappointment to some. That’s because his team canceled the scheduled livestream of the event hours before.

Lil Wayne Knows He’s “The Best Rapper Alive”

Regardless, we know that Tunechi thinks he’s the best rapper alive, but there’s no way that he’s his own favorite. During a recent conversation with Missy Elliott, Lil Wayne spoke on his love for her. “As a kid before Jay- this before I even knew a Jay-Z existed- I was into Missy Elliott,” he remarked. “You know it was because you were able to say things that I would want to say as I’m rapping. You not only made me like- you made me love it. And I became so interested in you. And what happened was I bought the album and did not know that you really was spitting like… you know what I mean. You know I spit that verse to you all the time. So, it was you and Cee-Lo Green was who I would listen to at the time a lot.”

Meanwhile, the 40-year-old also spoke on his legendary 100+ feature run in 2007. His insane work ethic, even if it impacted his consistency, is another argument in his corner. But the question remains: do you think he’s the best rapper alive, or is there another MC that holds more weight? Let us know in the comments and return to HNHH for the latest on Lil Wayne.

Lil Wayne Will Livestream Final “Welcome To Tha Carter” Tour Stop

If you didn’t get a chance to catch Lil Wayne on his “Welcome To Tha Carter” tour, at least you now have a chance to witness its greatness from the comfort of your home. Moreover, Weezy announced on Monday (May 1) that he and his team will livestream the trek’s final stop, which is in The Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles on May 13. Furthermore, the stream will begin at 9 p.m. PDT (12 a.m. EDT) that night, followed by a rebroadcast at 8 p.m. AEST and 8 p.m. BST the next day. These would be 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. in eastern time, respectively.

Also on May 14, the show will be available to purchase on-demand starting at 5 p.m. EDT, and said availability ends at 5 p.m. EDT on May 16. In order to access these airings and recordings, fans will pay $15 for their livestream tickets, which are available here. Of course, for hardcore fans of the Young Money icon who couldn’t see him in person, this is a very exciting announcement. The final stop of the 28-date tour might bring more exceptional moments, like when Lil Wayne brought out Drake in Toronto.

Other highlights of the “Welcome To Tha Carter” tour, aside from Tunechi’s consistently amazing performances, involve his guests. For example, NLE Choppa gifted Lil Wayne a stunning custom chain at his Boston concert, which features four Mount Rushmore-like figures of the New Orleans native representing his different eras. In addition, Wayne and Cam’ron performed their collaboration “Touch It or Not” for the first time ever while he stopped at Harlem for his tour.

Unfortunately for some, the successful tour ran into some pitfalls along the way. Fans in Atlanta took to social media to vent after the 40-year-old had to cancel his show there. While neither he nor his team explained why beyond “unforeseen circumstances,” hopeful concert-goers expressed a mix of anger, disappointment, but also concern for his well-being and safety. Fortunately, since then, it seems like things have gone great, and will end even greater now. For more updates on this story and the latest news on Lil Wayne, log back into HNHH.

Lil Wayne Cancels Atlanta Concert Less Than 24 Hours Before, Fans React

Lil Wayne unfortunately disappointed his Atlanta fans on Saturday (April 22) when he announced he had to cancel that tour stop due to unforeseen circumstances. Moreover, Weezy is currently on his “Welcome To Tha Carter” tour, which received much critical and fan acclaim up until this point. No doubt the trek will continue to please fans young and old, but it’s always a sting when this occurs to a live show. While many fans expressed understandable disappointment and anger, the rap legend’s message did give some hope to the city. In his statement, he hinted towards the solution he and his team are seeking.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances we have to reschedule the Atlanta show tomorrow,” Lil Wayne posted on social media. “I apologize to my fans, but I kan’t wait to turn up with y’all soon. Luv ATL.” Furthermore, this would’ve been the Young Money boss’s 14th tour stop out of a total of 28, and the trek is scheduled to end in Los Angeles, California on May 13. Hopefully more exciting live performances in the future don’t see the same fate, although the more important hope is that Tunechi is doing well and healthy throughout these dates.

Lil Wayne Cancels Atlanta Show

Cancelling live shows can be very scary for artists, but sometimes they have to happen due to scarier circumstances. For example, Desiigner recently canceled all his upcoming concert dates to focus on his mental health, which reportedly took a nosedive. The rapper exposed himself on a plane, and the reaction grew much more sympathetic following his emotional message. With these situations in mind, fans hope that Lil Wayne is above all having a good and fulfilling time during this tour, free of health issues or other circumstances that can seriously impede his trek.

Fortunately, those who missed the Atlanta show or the tour in general have a lot of the “Let The Beat Build” MC to enjoy these days. Not only did he kickstart the campaign for Tha Carter VI with “Kant Nobody” featuring DMX, but he also appeared on Swizz Beatz’s Hip Hop 50: Vol. 2 EP. Still, a lot of fans were disappointed, and you can see the extent of their reactions down below. For the latest greatness from Lil Wayne and the rest of his tour, stick around on HNHH.

Lil Wayne Brings Out Chance The Rapper At Chicago Tour Stop

One of the most exciting things that can happen at a concert is realizing that you’re getting more than you paid for. Moreover, Lil Wayne recently stopped by Chicago, Illinois on his “Welcome To Tha Carter” tour on Sunday (April 9). Not only that, but he brought out special guest Chance The Rapper to perform for his home city, and the energy in the venue was palpable. Furthermore, social media clips online show the two performing their 2016 hit “No Problem,” which landed on Chance’s critically acclaimed album Coloring Book. Even seven years after that collab, the two lyricists still seemed to have a lot of fun reconnecting and putting on a great show for fans.

Of course, that track wasn’t the only time the two crossed over. However, one of their sonic link-ups came through a pretty unorthodox method that Chance The Rapper employed back in 2020. For those unaware, he used to share songs exclusively on his Instagram, one of which featured both Lil Wayne and Young Thug, which is a crazy pairing considering their beef. However, apparently Chance either put two random features together or convinced them to put that aside for a quick and traditionally unreleased loosie.

Lil Wayne & Chance The Rapper Perform “No Problem” Together

Also, the Chicago MC thanked Lil Wayne for helping him reach Grammy-winning status, whether for his profile boost or for his guidance in the process. Said gratefulness came as Weezy announced Tha Carter V would finally see the light of day, which was a big moment for both fans and the industry. With that in mind, the two seem to have quite the close relationship. That persisted all the way to a fun performance at Chicago on Sunday’s tour stop.

Meanwhile, Tunechi’s been enjoying a highly successful and also quite intimate tour, as his chosen venues aren’t usually massive stadiums. During his shows, he plays a wide collection of his hits, but especially those from the earlier days of his career. Furthermore, it seems the New Orleans legend wanted to speak to the day ones with this tour, and he received a heap of praise for it. Regardless, stick around on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Chance The Rapper and Lil Wayne.

Lil Wayne Claims His Google Net Worth Is Incorrect, But Not In The Way You’d Think

When you’re as talented, successful, and beloved as Tunechi, it’s hard to put a price on you. Lil Wayne recently refuted his Google net worth, listed at $160 million, during an interview with Culture Millennials. Moreover, he spoke on how claims of how much he’s worth are nowhere near what he actually has. However, before you think he’s boasting, he actually downplayed the amount and said that he doesn’t have that kind of cash. Sure, he acknowledged that it’s nice to have people think he’s worth that much, but still refused to really bank on it.

“Honestly, I’m gonna let everybody know now,” Weezy remarked. “When you go check a motherf***er’s net worth and that s**t be saying some crazy numbers, I don’t have a cent close to that s**t. Yeah, I don’t have that, but I guess they be meaning that’s what I’m worth. So I be always calling my agent and being like, ‘I’m telling you, bro, I’m gonna fire the s**t out of you ’cause I don’t need you.’ I Googled that, you know what I mean? I’m like I’m a zillion dollar n***a on Google bro … It’s motivation, that’s all. It’s just motivation.”

Lil Wayne Dismisses His Net Worth

Furthermore, this discussion probably relates back to a recent story on how Jay-Z’s net worth reached $2.5 billion, according to Forbes. In fact, this is a massive step-up for Hov, considering Forbes valued his worth at $1.4 billion just a year ago. While it’s nearly double the original amount, the publication didn’t detail how it got to such an estimate. As such, a lot of people responded with both high praise and raised eyebrows, along with the typical discussion of what all that money is really worth.

Regardless, much of the Carter series icon’s worth sparked debate in another, and for a lot of people, much more serious way. Moreover, the culture traded takes on who would win in a Verzuz battle: him or 50 Cent. Decisions seemed almost split even wherever you looked, with even strong advocates for either acknowledging that it’s not an easy call to make. Regardless, it’s the kind of debate that’s much more fun that the numbers, because we’ll never really know the answer. Check out the New Orleans legend’s interview take on net worth about and return to HNHH for the latest on Lil Wayne.

Swizz Beatz Isn’t Down For A 50 Cent & Lil Wayne “Verzuz”

One of the hottest topics in hip-hop these days probably won’t pan out, but hope manifested in another way. Swizz Beatz recently expressed that he wouldn’t personally entertain a Verzuz battle between Lil Wayne and 50 Cent. Moreover, the battle series’ creator attended an early screening of Godfather Of Harlem‘s final episode, a show for which he’s Executive Music Producer. At the event, BallerAlert got his thoughts on the hypothetical matchup, which began as a hot debate on Rap Life Radar as people like Lowkey and later Ebro sided with 50. However, even though Swizz shut down its probability, he said he still wants them to appear on the program.

“Me personally, I wouldn’t even do 50 versus Wayne,” the star producer told the publication. “They two different dynamics and two different artists. I would do a different Verzuz for both of them, but we’ll see as we have a lot of things lined up for Verzuz, and hopefully, they are involved. While I can’t give up who I would choose to go against them, just wait and see.”

50 Cent & Lil Wayne Verzuz Not Entertained By Swizz Beatz Amid Debate

Not only that, but the 44-year-old also said that the series will return “ASAP,” and promised that work on it is almost done. Furthermore, he shared excitement for other creative endeavors in the future. Specifically, he spoke about what collaborations he looks forward to, which means a lot considering the extent and caliber of his catalog. “I’ll choose my bro, Lil Durk, because I love what he raps about and how he’s going through it simultaneously,” he said.

“When I was working with DMX, I heard in Durk’s music the situations he was going through in his lyrics – artists like Lil Baby, 42 Dugg, and Durk; there’s so many of them. They, sometimes, overly live through what they saying. I don’t think we should live on the streets just to get back in the streets.” Maybe fans will never truly know the answer to who would win in a Verzuz. Still, hopefully he still works more with both artists in the future. For the latest news and updates on Swizz Beatz, 50 Cent, and Lil Wayne, come back to HNHH.

Young Guru Claims Lil Wayne Would “Wash” 50 Cent In A “Verzuz”

Hip-hop culture’s been debating about who would win in a Verzuz battle between 50 Cent and Lil Wayne, and Young Guru is the latest legend to chime in. Moreover, this all started with multiple media personalities giving their thoughts on the subject, including Ebro, DJ Envy, and their respective radio crews. However, considering that he’s Jay-Z’s longtime engineer, his harsh assessment might just ring harder than any previous take. Furthermore, he took to his Instagram Story to try to set the record straight and speak authoritatively on the subject. Whether he’s right or not, perhaps we’ll never know, but it seems like a 50-50 split as to who would claim victory (or 50-Weezy, I guess).

“For the record y’all are crazy. Wayne would wash 50. Period,” the acclaimed audio technician wrote. Also, he said that To elaborate, here are some takes from other figures who recently debated the issue. First up is Ebro, who said that “what Jadakiss did to Dipset…Is what 50 will do to Wayne.” Eddie Francis disagreed on Rap Life Review, saying that a “wash” is impossible. To be fair, it is a tight race (consider this writer in Tunechi’s corner, with all due respect). Still, Lowkey argued on the program that he needs a carefully curated setlist to stand a chance against the G-Unit mogul.

Young Guru: Lil Wayne Would “Wash” 50 Cent

“Wayne don’t have a Get Rich or Die Tryin,‘” Low claimed, and blasphemously so for many (is Tha Carter III nothing to you?). “We’re not talking about what we like… We’re talking about in a crowd. [50 Cent] is a mainstream monster; Wayne is a cultural mainstream monster. But when we talk about these hits? When we talk about these bodies of work? When we talk about these smashes? I ain’t saying 50’s gonna wash Wayne, but if Wayne is not sequenced right and is not positioned correctly, that could be a very long f***ing night for Dwayne Carter.”

Meanwhile, DJ Envy agreed on The Breakfast Club, although he said it’s closer than many think. Regardless of all that, it’s still highly unlikely that we’ll ever get to answer this question. After all, 50’s dismissed the idea of doing a Verzuz, especially since it was more of a pandemic thing that hasn’t fully come back. On his end, the Young Money icon said that Roc-A-Fella would be the “best competition” against his label in a battle. As such, fans can only keep their fingers crossed and hope that the two incredible MCs look at all the buzz and say, “You know what, why not?” Come back to HNHH to see if that ever happens, and for the latest on 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, and Young Guru.
