Lauryn Hill Postpones Philly Show On Advice From Doctors

While Ms. Lauryn Hill is a certified rap and R&B legend, she’s developed a reputation for unpredictable live performances. She’s often either showing up hours late to shows or just canceling them entirely. That included an entire planned tour last year where The Fugees planned on reuniting to celebrate the anniversary of their classic album The Score. Lauryn is currently on tour with Fugees again, this time celebrating the 25th anniversary of her landmark solo album The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill.

Hill is about halfway through the tour and the unreliability of her live appearances has popped up again. She was scheduled to play a show in Philadelphia tonight, but just announced on social media that it was delayed. “It is with disappointment that I am writing this note to you. On the advice of my physicians, I have no choice but to postpone the show tomorrow. I need to rest my voice to prevent any more serious strain or damage to my vocal cords,” her statement reads. She goes on to express how enjoyable the tour has been up to this point. The statement concludes by confirming to fans that she will be back next month on November 25. Check out the full statement below.

Lauryn Hill Postpones Philly Show The Day Before

Last month fans who turned up for Lauryn Hill’s Global Citizen Festival performance got a nice surprise. The Fugees also turned up there for another surprise re-uniting that absolutely thrilled fans in attendance. The trio unpacked some of their classic hits like “Killing Me Softly With His Song” and “Ready Or Not” with videos of their performance swirling online.

That isn’t the only festival Lauryn has played this year. Back in June, she took the stage at Essence Festival to headline the shows Friday slot. But as she’s been known to do in the past, she was late to the performance drawing criticism from fans. What do you think of Lauryn Hill postponing her show on the advice of her doctors? SZA Cancels Toronto Show But Promises To Be Back

Recently, SZA and Drake teamed up for the very first time on a new single. The track was called “Slime You Out” and immediately shot all the way up to the number one spot on the Hot 100. The achievement made her the only artist to find herself at the number one spot on the top 100 this year. BTS member Jung Kook could potentially come for that title if he can debut his new single “3D” with Jack Harlow at the top spot.

Unfortunately it didn’t stick there and fell all the way outside the top 10 to number 12. It isn’t all bad news for SZA though as the song falling allowed her track “Snooze” to rise up to its peak of number 2. Between “Snooze” and “Kill Bill” she’s had two of the biggest hit songs of the year already. What do you think of SZA being forced to cancel her concert due to sickness? Let us know in the comment section below.

Jack Harlow “F***in Sick” About Canceling Vegas Show

Jack Harlow has said he feels sick after having to cancel a concert. He expressed his disappointment on Twitter after announcing the cancellation of his Las Vegas show due to an airline issue. The Louisville rapper-turned-actor shared that his plane, which was grounded in Kentucky, was unable to take off. This led to the unfortunate cancellation of the scheduled performance.

In his statement, Harlow conveyed his frustration and regret. The rapper mentioned that it was the first time in his career that he had to miss his own show. Despite efforts to find alternative flights or transportation, the circumstances were beyond his control. He apologized to his fans, expressing his sadness at not being able to deliver the anticipated performance and fulfill their song requests. Jack Harlow, of course, assured that refunds would be provided. Then, he pledged to make it up to every single person who had planned to attend the show.

Harlow “Can’t Jump” On a Flight

In other news, Jack Harlow has been quite active on the acting front recently. Most notably, he appeared in a major role in Hulu’s White Men Can’t Jump. Social media was buzzing with concerns ever since the announcement of the rapper taking on the role originated by Woody Harrelson. People raised doubts about the suitability of the Kentucky native making his acting debut in such an iconic role. However, the release of the initial trailers provided some relief. Now that the film is available on Hulu, fans can judge Harlow’s acting skills for themselves. The new White Men Can’t Jump follows the familiar story of two unlikely friends, one black and one white, bonding over basketball.

In addition to the unexpected appearances by all-star athletes, many viewers seemed at least satisfied by Jack Harlow’s performance. One surprised tweet exclaimed, “Why is Jack Harlow actually acting omg.” Another user chimed in, “The new White Men Can’t Jump is funny asf I can’t lie. Thought the shit was gonna be corny as hell.” However, there are also several individuals who expressed serious dissatisfaction with the project after watching it. One particularly unimpressed viewer vented, “Just watched 30 minutes of the White Men Can’t Jump remake. Y’all are so lucky I don’t have powers because the movie is so bad that I would have destroyed the world.” Regardless, Jack Harlow managed to pull off something not many others could have in their first role. Lil Wayne Abruptly Ends His Last Tour Stop In Los Angeles

Unfortunately, it looks like Lil Wayne’s last “Welcome To Tha Carter” tour stop in Los Angeles brought the trek to a sour close. Moreover, the rapper reportedly showed up late to The Wiltern on Saturday night (May 13), and fans say he had low energy. Still, it seems like the self-proclaimed “best rapper alive” was putting on a solid set for his fans, going through many of his classics. However, the inciting incident came when Weezy took a brief intermission, letting his Young Money artists Lil Twist, Yaj Kader, and Allan Cubas perform. Apparently the crowd’s reaction didn’t please the New Orleans MC, and he wrapped things up early.

“We appreciate it, but we ain’t about to be bending over backwards for these folks,” Lil Wayne expressed when Cubas was about to perform his second song. We work too hard for this shit, we work way too hard. This my motherf***in’ artist Allan, that was Twist, that was Yaj; we are Young Money. We appreciate y’all time.” Given that his team canceled the show’s scheduled livestream, maybe we should’ve known something was up.

Lil Wayne Cancels His Los Angeles Concert Mid-Show

Regardless, it’s quite sad to see such a legendary rapper have that reaction during his tour’s last show. Whether you blame Lil Wayne for his actions or the crowd for their seemingly unenthused energy, it’s not a pretty sight. In fact, other issues that the “Welcome To Tha Carter” tour faced seem to have been handled in a more smooth way. For example, he canceled his Atlanta show and let fans know that they would reschedule. In contrast, this seems to be a much more unprompted and tense cancellation.

Obviously, a lot of people expressed anger, disappointment, disbelief, and frustration online. As of writing this article, it seems that the “Kant Nobody” MC has yet to respond to backlash or address the show’s abrupt end in any way. No matter which side you blame or how much you may empathize with Tunechi’s frustration and rights as an artist, this is not the way any anticipated tour should end. Regardless, stay logged into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Lil Wayne.
