It looks like Lil Wayne might be dropping some new material very soon, and while this isn’t an official announcement, has he ever had a reputation for not being incredibly prolific? Moreover, this is based on a Universal Music pre-save link that surfaced online, according to LWHQ, that showed the artwork for a release titled “Weezy vs Wheezy.” Both the former Hot Boy and the Mississippi producer appear on the cover, but it’s unclear whether this is a new song or an upcoming project. Either way, this report and the link indicates that this will come out April 5, so we’ll see if this is all true very soon.

Furthermore, this also follows some other exciting news about the New Orleans legend delivering some new material on the horizon. Rapsody recently announced her next album Please Don’t Cry, on which Lil Wayne will appear with a special guest feature alongside Erykah Badu, Hit-Boy, and more. Perhaps that will be his main focus when it comes to 2024 releases: building notable collaborations with his peers. Considering that Tunechi is one of the most legendary collaborators and feature artists in hip-hop history, we can’t say we’d complain.

Although Lil Wayne didn’t blow any minds on there in our opinion, it was still great to see him outside of his comfort zone. Perhaps this supposed Wheezy collab will result in a similar sight.

Drake Labels PARTYNEXTDOOR “The Real GOAT” Ahead Of New Single

Drake is the biggest PARTYNEXTDOOR fan in the world, and he couldn’t be more exciting about the upcoming release of PARTYNEXTDOOR 4, or P4 for short. Moreover, the Toronto crooner, making his comeback very soon, announced yesterday (Monday, March 11) that he’s dropping another single for the project this Friday titled “Real Woman” following the previous one, “Resentment.” “The real [goat emoji] is back this Friday @partynextdoor,” Drizzy wrote of his OVO partner on Instagram in the caption of a post of the single’s cover art. It’s been a very long time since we heard from PND in a full-length capacity, and fans can’t wait to see how he comes back to the R&B and soft trap world.

Furthermore, Drake previously praised PARTYNEXTDOOR and previewed P4 while visiting his homecoming show in Toronto. “I’m going on tour but Party droppin’ PND 4,” he said back in May of last year. “First of all, can I just say on behalf of everybody in this room, can you come home more, please? Please! I would not be the artist I am if it wasn’t for you. And that’s not, like, even some, like, I get on stage with people and I’m nice sometimes. Ye and Ty Dolla $ign have yet to drop VULTURES 2 as promised, but now there’s a new pipeline of info that the first installment didn’t have. Moreover, a Twitter (now X) account by the name of @yefanatics has apparently been in contact with the Chicago artist and his team, and through this account, he’s been able to provide updates on the project. In some of the most recent message screenshots posted on social media by the fan page, the “BURN” MC said that he and Ty will play both VULTURES 1 and 2 at their Phoenix listening event tonight (March 10), plus what seems to be another track called “Slide,” presumably for the final part of the trilogy.

Furthermore, Ye had a pretty interesting question to ask @yefanatics (and by extension, the fans) about his and Ty Dolla Sign’s next two VULTURES albums. “Was talking with the team about how to release the next album,” he apparently wrote via direct message. “Like James Blake said streaming devalues our music. We sell albums on Yeezy.com. I got 20 million Instagram followers. When 5% of my followers buy an album. That’s 1 million albums sold. That’s 300k more than the biggest album last year. We sold 1 million items on Yeezy.com on Super Bowl Sunday so we know it’s possible. How do you feel about us not streaming and only selling the album digitally.”

With this in mind, it’s at least great to see that James Blake’s recent statements on the music industry have really resonated. The English creative brought up a lot of great points in terms of artist exploitation, the adverse effects of a streaming-dominated economy on artistry, algorithmic engagement like TikTok being a hindrance to creativity, and much more. While Ye has his own legal, distribution, and politically sensitive reasons to see pushback from streaming platforms, it doesn’t change the fact that the issues with streaming apply across all artists, for the most part. Perhaps VULTURES 2 will join the likes of Willie Nelson as some of the first huge and prominent musical moments against streaming.

Meanwhile, we know that this is history repeating itself, because Donda 2 only released via the Yeezy Stem Player. But VULTURES 1 is still seeing a lot of streaming success, so maybe that’s another reason for them to switch things up for this one. Sure, this doesn’t reinvent the wheel when it comes to the Hood Hottest Princess, but it’s exactly the kind of music that fans loved and expected. Hopefully Sexyy Red takes her time to fully craft it before dropping, as she’s got a lot on her plate for this year. The 25-year-old is one of the performers slated for The Roots Picnic, which raised many fans’ eyebrows. After all, many probably didn’t expect Questlove to be a “Pound Town” resident, but a good festival lineup should always be diverse and timely, right?

Logic Unveils “Ultra 85” Lead Single Release Date And Album Trailer

Logic, aka Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, is finally ready to begin the Ultra 85 hype train. The multi-hyphenate hailing from the East Coast has let many years go by without dropping this project. In fact, some fans have claimed they have been waiting since their high school days for this to drop. Well, the endless waiting is seemingly coming to a close at some point this year. The last time Logic gave his supporters an update about Ultra 85 was back at the beginning of the month on his Instagram. The caption simply read “Ultra 85 2024,” with an image of the gorgeous artwork.

That can be credited to Sam Spratt who has done a plethora of his covers throughout his lengthy discography. This will be Logic’s first true album since 2023’s College Park in February. However, he did also drop a bandcamp exclusive mixtape Inglorious Basterd that featured some classic samples of other popular rap classics. But, for the first single, we have all the news on that.

Lil Nas X Is Living Up To Entering His Christian Era On Upcoming Single “J CHRIST”

Lil Nas X had one of the more dominant runs in music in the past several years from 2019-2021. His viral tracks such as “MONTERO” and “INDUSTRY BABY” had him constantly topping the charts. However, the past year and a half has been quiet for the Georgia native. In 2022, Nas X put out two singles. Those were “Late To Da Party (F*CK BET)” with NBA YoungBoy and “STAR WALKIN’.” The latter was a collaboration with the League of Legends video game.

Part of the reason for his lack of production is because Nas X feels he was “blackballed” from releasing in 2023. According to Billboard, it is because of “promoting God to the masses.” The latter of the comments were made late last week. Around the same time, Lil Nas said he was going to “expose the industry” and that he needed to “watch his back.”

In addition to all of those statements, the multi-talent made one last year. He claimed he was going to enter his “Christian era.” Well, he is living up to that promise it seems. According to Pitchfork the platinum recording artist revealed the cover art and release date for “J CHRIST.” “MY NEW SINGLE IS DEDICATED TO THE MAN WHO HAD THE GREATEST COMEBACK OF ALL TIME!” It will be out on Friday, January 12. Also according to Billboard, this track is rumored to be put out independently, and not through Columbia Records. Nas X is doing this because “[my label] gave me the choice of going independent to release my gospel music or staying with them.”

Playboi Carti Shares New Snippet On Instagram: “IM NOT PLAYING”

Playboi Carti’s I AM MUSIC (or just Music? Who knows?) is finally upon us, and he is well-aware of what that anticipation means. Moreover, he recently shared a short instrumental snippet on Instagram along with a graphic that reads “IM NOT PLAYING.” As such, the Atlanta rage pioneer is probably very aware that he has been playing for the better part of three years now when it comes to his next album. In addition to reposting Tyler, The Creator DMs, old Young Thug tweets, and Pharrell cosigns, this is adding to some more prolific activity from him that fans are very happy to see. After all, Carti is usually radio-silent, and a lot of what we hear or see of him is through so many other means that aren’t himself.

Furthermore, let’s talk about this snippet, which might be part of this January drop for Playboi Carti. It’s nothing too special, to be honest: heavy and simple bass, a creepy and slightly Halloween-ish synth melody, a compressed snare, and rattling hi-hats. If anything, it’s like a fusion of the tempo and drum pattern that dominated Die Lit with the goth aesthetics of Whole Lotta Red. As such, we can’t really take a guess at what previous style this new release will imitate, but we hope that it’s none of the above and that Carti comes through with something new.

It’s actually funny that there are a lot of similarities between this and WLR: a winter/Christmastime drop, DJ Akademiks with the inside scoop, and it doesn’t look like his aesthetics have changed all that much since then. We’d guess that the newest thing about this new release is that the “FE!N” MC will use more of the deep and warbly delivery he debuted on that song.

Meanwhile, as fans, we all have to be ready for this whole thing to fall apart at any second– and to be cognizant of his alleged abhorrent behavior. After all, with so many teases, apparent delays, and unfulfilled promises, fans are too hardened to let their guard down. New Playboi Carti Leak Fuels Rumors Of New Music Coming Soon

Rumors of Playboi Carti dropping soon amid lots of leaks are about as common as leaves falling in autumn at this point. Fans have been starving and fiending for more ever since Whole Lotta Red dropped, amid the rapper’s own legal and relationship controversies plus exciting performances. Many fans believe that Music will be another great album, although it’s possible that it won’t even be named that by the time it drops. Given that his leaked discography is just as revered and abundant as his official releases, new snippets surfacing online are a staple of his career. With each new entry in that saga, die-hards get excited and disappointed all over again.

Furthermore, we’re now in that excitement stage again, with a clip of an unreleased track “Wicked (Killers)” leaking online. It’s what you’d expect from this King Vamp era: baby-voiced, unintelligible, but still invigorating and downright catchy. Moreover, the instrumental on this Playboi Carti features the ethereal synth pads and distorted bass that defines his artistry for the most part. In addition, there are some extra buzzing embellishments that fit this track in the rage-heavy phase of the Atlanta trap innovator’s path.

When the interviewer, editor-in-chief Vanessa Satten, asked about a new album, he had this to say. “I was about to name my album Music because that’s where I’m at,” Playboi Carti expressed. “You know what I’m saying? Music.”

Meanwhile, fans had mixed reactions to this leak. On one hand, they’re happy to get new Carti amid almost complete radio silence from him. On the other, some believe that this will only further delay Music‘s release, and even saw the snippet as a vengeful move following the delay of his tour with Opium. Moreover, the R&B singer posted a short snippet of the music video and a picture with Cassie. “GIRL YA PSYCHIC PSYCHIC,” he commented the post. While this is surely exciting news for fans, it also came at a bit of an odd time for Brown. After all, following the announcement of his Chlöe collab, fans brought up his history of abuse against women again and past mistakes. Although this wouldn’t be a new collaboration, it’s another bit of fuel in the fire at this point.

Still, reactions were relatively split online concerning his new collab, though both camps were incredibly vocal. “Me watching y’all outage over Chris Brown and Chloe but he just did a tour and it sold out,” one tweeter remarked. “Somebody lying on twitter but go off.” In addition, another pointed out more wrongdoing on Brown’s behalf. “The Chris Brown backlash Chloe is getting isn’t even just about Rihanna? He literally mocked Kehlani after her 2016 suicide attempt?”
