Chance the Rapper Unveils Powerful Music Video "Buried Alive"

Chance the Rapper has released his latest music video, “Buried Alive.” The video delves into themes of self-discovery, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of freedom. The track showcases Chance’s signature blend of introspection and infectious energy, resonating deeply with fans.

In the video, Chance begins trapped inside a box, reminiscent of a scene from the cult classic film Kill Bill: Volume 2, which celebrates its 20th anniversary. As the tension mounts, Chance breaks free from his confines, embarking on a journey of self-actualization and defiance.

Emerging into a surreal environment, surrounded by the vast expanse of space with Earth visible in the distance, Chance approaches a window, gazing out at the cosmic panorama before him. This moment symbolizes freedom from past constraints and a newfound sense of possibility.

“Getting back to directing and shaping the cinematography for the ‘Buried Alive’ music video was really a rewarding return for me,” says Chance the Rapper. “Film provides me a platform to translate my creative vision into a tangible, immersive experience, while also capturing the grandeur of the cosmos.” He continues, “Throughout this project, I’ve been using film as a translator for some of the heavier or more fantastical themes in my lyrics. Auteurs like Wes Anderson, Spike Lee, and now Quentin Tarantino have greatly influenced my eye as a director and DP, while providing me a medium that allows these conversations of liberation and catharsis to speak loudly.”

“Buried Alive” offers a powerful visual narrative that complements Chance’s lyrical exploration of the human spirit’s depths. The video’s release has sparked excitement among fans, eager to engage with its themes of liberation and self-discovery.

With “Buried Alive,” Chance the Rapper continues to captivate audiences with his compelling storytelling and thought-provoking imagery, solidifying his place as one of music’s most innovative and influential artists.

Chance The Rapper Posts New Snippet & Video With Lil Wayne, T-Pain & More

With so much hip-hop happening in 2024 so far, it’s ironic how the growth of competition only seems to yield more and more MCs chiming in for a huge year. Among the most anticipated comebacks for the next eight months or so is that of Chance The Rapper, who’s been teasing a lot of new music for his upcoming Star Line Gallery album. Moreover, he just shared a new clip on social media on Sunday (April 21), in which he’s taped in the studio with Lil Wayne, T-Pain, JD, Jazze Pha, Jermaine Dupri, and many others while he sings a tender unreleased track amid a lot of other footage. Overall, the Chicago rapper seems to be gearing up for something truly special soon.

Furthermore, this follows a lot of other short teases on platforms like Instagram and Twitter, one recent example of which actually calls for a revolution as opposed to the typical democratic process. He’s never been shy about his sociopolitical views, but it seems like there’s another kind of fire that’s building within him as opposed to what we’ve seen earlier in his discography. Either way, it looks like Chance The Rapper will still be able to emote in various ways and bring his powerful versatility to the table. No matter what this next era or project shows up as, it’s been long enough since 2019’s The Big Day to where there’s always the element of surprise to consider now.

Chance The Rapper’s Latest Snippet & Short Vlog: Watch

For example, he dedicated his latest song “I Will Be Your” to the Black Star Line Festival that he hosted in Ghana alongside Vic Mensa. The only things to be expected about that song were the beat and performance themselves, but the subject matter ranged all over the place. Also, with that event touching down on a lot of plights and hot topics relating to the Black experience, Star Line Gallery might be a deeper exploration of what Chance The Rapper’s learned over the years. These are all just theories, but we’ll likely see if they manifest soon.

Meanwhile, the “Paranoia” spitter also recently expressed his support for Young Thug during his and YSL’s RICO trial. It’s been a very hard and arduous process that has raised many more eyebrows since the initial arrest almost two years ago. It’s yet another factor that makes us think he’s teaming up with all these artists to make something grand, compelling, and meaningful. Chance The Rapper Plays New Music In Chicago Ahead Of “Star Line Gallery” Album

Chance The Rapper’s upcoming album Star Line Gallery is one of the year’s most anticipated releases, of which we’re getting brief but promising hints. While it’s been a long time since his last project, which disappointed many fans, it feels exciting to see this second wind connect with a lot of people. In fact, the Chicago native recently got to play some presumed material from the LP to his hometown. Folks obviously aren’t 100% sure that these will appear on the tracklist, but it’s definitely a likely outcome. The most important thing is that these new cuts are sounding like really well-crafted, thoughtful, and tender lyrical cuts.

Furthermore, let’s set the stage: the “I Will Be Your” MC hosted the Ramova Theatre’s inaugural concert in Chicago, Illinois on Friday (February 16). He explained that it would be a B-sides and C-sides (“Seasides”) show going through underrated fan favorites and unreleased material debuting with a live audience, per The Chicago Sun Times. On Instagram, Chance The Rapper shared clips from the shows, plus quotes from this publication about the performance. “[More popular cuts like “No Problem” and “Cocoa Butter Kisses”] don’t hold a candle to the level of artistry found in ‘The Negro Problem,’ the as-of-now suggested title Chance shared for the new tune with its series of lyrics that harken to James Baldwin,” they wrote of a snippet.

In addition, The Chicago Sun Times remarked how Star Line Gallery was developed around the time of his Black Star Line Festival in Ghana in January of 2023, hosted alongside fellow Chicago artist Vic Mensa. “I’m in a place in my life of just liking what I like,” Chance The Rapper remarked during the set. Players who also performed for this “B-sides and Seasides” concert comprised of longtime collaborators. Nico Segal joined him on the trumpet, Peter CottonTale played keyboard, Stix handled the drums, and many backup vocalists were there to add their special touch.

How do you like these new teases as a part of the Star Line Gallery rollout? Are you liking this new sound and the writing exercises that preluded it? Chance The Rapper Delivers New Single “I Will Be Your” Dedicated To Black Star Line Festival: Stream

Chance The Rapper is gearing up to drop Star Line Gallery in spring of 2024, fans believe, and this new track “I Will Be Your” is a great indicator of that. Moreover, the song is dedicated to his Black Star Line Festival in Ghana, and as such, themes of community, perseverance, support, and hope in the face of adversity are very present. It makes for one of the Chicago rapper’s most emotionally resonant singles in his post-The Big Day run, although these other cuts did not have a lack of meaning. Instead, this song amplifies it with a light-hearted tone, both delivery-wise and production-wise, even if its artist is speaking on large issues. What’s important is that he tackles them with the care and levity with which you’d speak to a family member.

Furthermore, a soulful sample provides the bed in which Chance The Rapper lyrically lays, proclaiming that “I will be your everything.” By cutting out the last word, he switches between being different roles for a loved one, all of which communicate the idea of him as a leader. Think what you will of the “Writing Exercise #5” MC’s last project, but don’t doubt that he has this capacity. Sure, some may read this as a little too savior-complexed, but we’d be lying if we said that it wasn’t an inspiring sonic pallet. Lyrically, he’s colorful, charismatic, clever, and seems very focused on building a lively and comforting narrative.

Chance The Rapper Reveals “A Lot Of Negatives” During Tour With Macklemore In Europe

Chance The Rapper and Macklemore might not be the first two artists you think of together, but the two actually go way back. While reflecting on the ten-year anniversary of his mainstream breakout project Acid Rap to Ebro Darden, Chance spoke on the early days of his career. At one point, he touched on opening for the Seattle MC during his Europe tour in 2013, and called it one of the most challenging obstacles he faced during his rise to the top. However, that’s not because of his performance partner, but rather the circumstances and crowds that they experienced during their trek. It’s wild and heartening to hear the Chicago artist talk about his unfortunate struggles, and to see how far he’s come since.

“The toughest challenge I ever experienced was I went on tour with Macklemore,” Chance The Rapper remarked. “Macklemore is an amazing, amazing person and helped me out tremendously as well. But his shows, it was in Europe and it was, I think 38 dates, all 20,000 capacity rooms. All like off markets too, like Poland and Dusseldorf.

“These people didn’t speak English at all,” Chance The Rapper elaborated. “And not only did they not speak English, he sold out all these shows before [they] announced [me] on the ticket. So it’s really bad when you go to a show and there’s an opener that you don’t want to see. It’s way worse when it’s a surprise opener that you don’t want to see. That’s speaking a different language and Black, a lot of negatives on top of each other for the Swedish crowds. So I’m dealing with that.

“When I came home, I got to finally feel at the end of that year when I went on my own solo tour, I got to feel having my own crowd, selling my own tickets and really built my whole off that tour,” the 30-year-old expressed. “The year Acid Rap dropped, I started out and went on tour with Mac Miller, rest in peace, my guy, amazing dude, changed my life in a lot of ways. But I went on tour with Mac Miller at the end of March and my mixtape dropped while I was on tour. I literally watched people go from yawning and looking at their clocks while I was on stage to singing along to jumping along. I watched that.” For more news on Chance The Rapper and Macklemore, stay logged into HNHH.

Keke Palmer Drama Discussion Drags Chance The Rapper Into The Fray

Some of the spiciest pop culture drama this week is what’s going on between Keke Palmer and her boyfriend Darius Jackson. For those unaware, the Internet stormed on Jackson after he expressed disapproval of Palmer wearing a slightly revealing outfit to Usher’s concert- and many think that he was jealous of him serenading her. Of course, like with any public drama between celebrities, people from every corner stepped in to give their take. In the process, people who called out double standards in this case actually brought up Chance The Rapper, referencing a viral video of him from not too long ago. According to these proponents, social media was happy to bash on Chance but let Keke do something similar.

However, when you really compare the two instances, it’s clear that Keke Palmer has much less to explain on her end than Chance. Moreover, someone filmed the Chicago rapper grinding with a woman that isn’t his wife at a festival, which many took issue with. Still, it’s not like it was complete backlash, as plenty of users still defended it as just harmless fun that we don’t even know if his wife approves of. Regardless, it seems like a stretch to compare an act to a dress, especially when its public nature wasn’t prompted by the couple itself as Jackson did in this case.

Chance The Rapper Video Gets Compared To Keke Palmer Situation

“If I remember correctly, everybody was calling out Chance the Rapper for letting a lady dance on him at Carnival,” one user tweeted about the Keke Palmer situation. “But not many are calling out our Beloved for dancing on Usher, basically doing the same thing as Chance but in reverse. He should’ve straight called her out on this because we all know the outfit wasn’t the real reason for him calling her out. Also should’ve did it behind closed doors. It is what it is though. We can’t be so deep in other people’s relationships when it’s not our business.”

Meanwhile, Chance is far from the first celebrity that users dragged into this mess. Jacquees wants to stay out of it, whereas Usher had a short and cheeky response. Overall, it seems that the moral of this story is to keep relationship stuff to yourself, and to not make a scene online. Come back to HNHH for the latest updates on Keke Palmer and Chance The Rapper.

Chance The Rapper Reflects On How Drug-Fueled Lifestyle Could’ve Killed Him

Chance The Rapper’s seminal mixtape Acid Rap is one of the most beloved mixtapes of the 2010s decade, whether you ask Chance fans or hip-hop heads at large. However, that era also represented a dark time for the Chicago star. Moreover, he recently spoke to Complex and reflected on his heavy drug use at the time, which he believes would’ve killed him if he continued down that path. As the project celebrates its tenth anniversary, this context sheds a dark light on an otherwise bright start to his mainstream success. As a treat to fans, he will perform an anniversary concert at Chicago’s United Center on August 19.

Still, such celebration is underscored by the 30-year-old’s reflections on his personal struggles. “I probably would have died,” Chance The Rapper remarked to the publication. “Definitely, the way that I was living at that time. I had everything in excess. Right after I dropped the project, I went on a few tours where I really didn’t make any money. Then I went on my first tour, my headlining tour, where I made some money.”

Chance The Rapper Reflects On His Heavy Drug Use

After that monetary boost, the “Same Drugs” artist said that he went through a lot of changes in his personal life. Despite his burgeoning success, he said that drugs followed him along the way. “I went and rented a crib,” he explained. “This is my first time living outside of my parents’ house in another city and having money and doing a lot of drugs.” From his perspective, substance dependency made him a “different” and also “lesser” person than he is today. Later on in the interview, he theorized what his place in hip-hop would be if he hadn’t had an awakening.

“If I hadn’t had my spirit tugged on- literally- and a calling to become a better version of myself, then I would have died for sure,” Chance expressed. “Then I would just be the representative of acid and I’m so much more.” If you want to read Complex‘s full interview with the Coloring Book star, check it out here. Chance The Rapper Seemingly Responds To Wife’s Message On Instagram

The video of Chance The Rapper grinding with another woman during a Jamaican festival send social media into a frenzy. However, all that’s come from him and his wife concerning the subject is shrouded in an indirect haze. Moreover, the Chicago MC just reposted a clip of standup comedian Bill Burr talking about marriage and fights that happen within it. Furthermore, he doesn’t seem to have captioned the post, but it does line up with people calling him out for the dance. Wherever you land on the debate of whether or not he can do so, it’s hard not to see Burr’s words relate to the situation.

“Yeah, I love my wife to death,” the comedian expressed during his stand-up show. “I love everything about being f***ing married. But I’ll tell you this right now: we do fight a lot. We do argue all the time. If I’ve learned anything in five years of being married, it’s we’re always working on me. You know?” Burr concludes on Chance The Rapper’s IG Story with a laugh. Previously, his wife Kirsten Corley posted a quote from Maya Angelou seemingly addressing the viral dance video.

Did Chance The Rapper Address His Dancing Video?

“Most people don’t grow up,” the quote read. “It’s too damn difficult. What happens is most people get older. That’s the truth of it. They honor their credit cards, they find parking spaces, they marry, the have the nerve to have children, but they don’t grow up. Not really. They get older. But to grow up costs the earth, the earth. It manes you take responsibility for the time you take up, for the space you occupy. It’s serious business. And you find out what it costs us to love and to lose, to dare and to fail. And maybe even more, to succeed. What it costs, in truth. Not superficial costs- anybody can have that- I mean in truth.”

Meanwhile, Chance is probably keeping busy with other endeavors, as much as this must weigh on his social media presence. For example, he recently announced a concert commemorating the ten-year anniversary of Acid Rap. No matter what business they get up to online, though, all that matters for their relationship is what they want and agree on. If you’re looking for the latest updates on Chance The Rapper and his wife Kirsten Corley, check back in with HNHH.

Chance The Rapper’s Wife Appears To Speak Out

Chance The Rapper recently caused a lot of conversation when a video surfaced of him dancing with another woman at a Jamaican festival. Not only that, but people seemed most taken aback by the suggestive nature of their moves, as the woman grinded on him. Of course, every couple will handle those situations differently, but that didn’t stop people from giving their two cents. However, after that video went viral and prompted debate in the comments sections, the Chicago rapper’s wife seemingly responded. Kirsten Corley-Bennett posted a quote from Maya Angelou on Instagram and reposted an inspirational quote on her Instagram story.

“Wherever I go, grace will beat me to it, meet me in it, turn it around, and make it a miracle,” the IG Story read. Before that came a screenshot post of the Angelou quote, and she wrote “I hope one day, we all choose to grow up” as the caption. “Oh my God, I’ve lived a very simple life!” the paragraph begins. “You can say, Oh yes, at thirteen this happened to me and at fourteen… But those are facts. But the facts can obscure the truth, what it really felt like. Every human being has paid the earth to grow up.”

Chance The Rapper’s Wife Seems To Address His Dance

Moreover, she highlighted this next part of the text, which is what is really making people connect it to the video. “Most people don’t grow up. It’s too damn difficult.

“What it costs, in truth,” the messages concluded. “Not superficial costs- anybody can have that- I mean in truth.” Given that this quote could be interpreted many different ways, perhaps this isn’t the bombshell response that many expected. Still, from what we can gather, maybe people looking for that have some growing up to do, as well. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Chance The Rapper.

Lil Wayne Brings Out Chance The Rapper At Chicago Tour Stop

One of the most exciting things that can happen at a concert is realizing that you’re getting more than you paid for. Moreover, Lil Wayne recently stopped by Chicago, Illinois on his “Welcome To Tha Carter” tour on Sunday (April 9). Not only that, but he brought out special guest Chance The Rapper to perform for his home city, and the energy in the venue was palpable. Furthermore, social media clips online show the two performing their 2016 hit “No Problem,” which landed on Chance’s critically acclaimed album Coloring Book. Even seven years after that collab, the two lyricists still seemed to have a lot of fun reconnecting and putting on a great show for fans.

Of course, that track wasn’t the only time the two crossed over. However, one of their sonic link-ups came through a pretty unorthodox method that Chance The Rapper employed back in 2020. For those unaware, he used to share songs exclusively on his Instagram, one of which featured both Lil Wayne and Young Thug, which is a crazy pairing considering their beef. However, apparently Chance either put two random features together or convinced them to put that aside for a quick and traditionally unreleased loosie.

Lil Wayne & Chance The Rapper Perform “No Problem” Together

Also, the Chicago MC thanked Lil Wayne for helping him reach Grammy-winning status, whether for his profile boost or for his guidance in the process. Said gratefulness came as Weezy announced Tha Carter V would finally see the light of day, which was a big moment for both fans and the industry. With that in mind, the two seem to have quite the close relationship. That persisted all the way to a fun performance at Chicago on Sunday’s tour stop.

Meanwhile, Tunechi’s been enjoying a highly successful and also quite intimate tour, as his chosen venues aren’t usually massive stadiums. During his shows, he plays a wide collection of his hits, but especially those from the earlier days of his career. Furthermore, it seems the New Orleans legend wanted to speak to the day ones with this tour, and he received a heap of praise for it. Regardless, stick around on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Chance The Rapper and Lil Wayne.
