GloRilla Asks For Blue Check Back, Gets Roasted

GloRilla seems to be one of the only people who didn’t know about Elon Musk’s blue check purge that started last week. The internet has been exploding with stories about it. Celebrities have been complaining left and right. Threats have been leveraged at the Twitter CEO. Dead celebrities have been getting blue checks back. The whole thing has been a pretty big mess. Somehow, GloRilla had no idea any of this was happening. To be fair, she was likely pretty busy with her Coachella performance and her lawsuit. Still, fans are roasting her for it. The rapper took to the social media platform to complain about her sudden lack of blue check.

“Elon be acting slow ash sometimes…. cause were my blue check go???????” GloRilla asked in a now-deleted tweet. Fans of course immediately took the tweet and ran with it, responding by roasting the rapper. “No, you the slow one! Everyone been knew it was happening and it did,” one user said. “Pay that 8 bucks a month.” GloRilla did not respond to the tweet, but the fact that the rapper deleted the original tweet says it all. How she didn’t know about the entire thing is a mystery. Many celebrities have been complaining about it for a while now. The rapper’s account now displays a blue check, suggesting that she paid for it.

GloRilla’s Twitter Drama

Although GloRilla is relatively new to the music scene, she does not take criticism lightly. In a recent tweet, the rapper warned her haters not to let her know if they don’t like her. If they do, she said she will do everything in her power to bother them. “I never gave a single f*ck about a h*/n*gga not liking me,” she said in the tweet. “Im finna work yo nerves & do everything in my power to make you hate me ho.”

Earlier this year, GloRilla was in the news after a stampede occurred at her concert, which resulted in three deaths. During a joint concert with Finesse2Tymes, a gunshot was reportedly heard, causing the audience to rush towards the exit and resulting in the tragic incident. Initially, one person was confirmed dead, and two others were in critical condition, but unfortunately, both victims have now passed away. GloRilla expressed her condolences on Twitter, but one of the victim’s families is planning to sue her. What do you think of Gorilla’s lack of awareness? Let us know in the comments.

GloRilla Sued Copyright Infringement Over ‘Tomorrow’ and ‘Tomorrow 2’ Tracks

GloRilla Reveals Finding Out Ham is Pork Ruined Her Upcoming Thanksgiving Dinner

GloRilla finds herself at the center of a lawsuit for alleged copyright infringement. The tracks named are her hits “Tomorrow” and “Tomorrow 2,” the latter featuring Cardi B.

According to Music Business Worldwide, Ivory Paynes, a member of 1990s New Orleans rap group Dog House Posse, is suing because the two singles “misappropriates key protected elements” of Dog House Posse’s 1994 track “Street of Westbank.” Paynes is credited as a writer on the single.

The suit stated GloRilla’s songs contain “unauthorized samples” and also copy “musical arrangements, percussion tracks, synthesized orchestration, including … piano, cello, violin, contrabass, and drum set, and tone and melody.”

In addition to GloRilla, defendants include Antonio Anderson, aka Macaroni Toni, Collective Music Group, Universal Music Group (UMG), Warner Chappell Music, and more.

You can hear “Street of Westbank” below.

Drake & GloRilla Face Lawsuits For Unauthorized Sample Use In Music

Drake and GloRilla

Both rappers Drake and GloRilla are facing lawsuits for using samples from other artists without permission. This is a common issue for many rappers who have been sued for the same reason. Two of the biggest names in hip-hop, Drake and GloRilla, have both recently been sued for using samples of another artist without their […]

GloRilla Accused Of Stealing “Tomorrow” Sample In New Lawsuit: Report

GloRilla’s witnessing colossal success in her career. However, that also comes with its fair share of headaches, especially when clearing samples. Unfortunately, she’s learning about it the hard way now that she’s being sued over “Tomorrow.” Per TMZ, Ivory Paynes of Dog House Posse filed a lawsuit against GloRilla claiming she and her producer Macaroni Toni sampled the single, “Street Of The Westbank” from 1994. In the suit, he claims GloRilla and her producer stole elements of the record – piano, cello, and drums – without authorization.

Paynes lawsuit lists GloRilla, Collective Music Group, and her publishing companies, Warner Chappell and Sony/ATV Music, as the defendants. Though the song gained significant attention after Cardi B jumped on the remix for “Tomorrow 2,” Paynes didn’t list the Bronx star in the case. Regardless, if the judge rules in Paynes’ favor, GloRilla and the defendants might have to cough up some major dough.

While Paynes looks for his cut of the record, GloRilla’s taken the hit record on tour with her. The Memphis-born rapper brought Cardi B to perform the song at the AMA ceremony last year. Most recently, Cardi showed out for Glo’s performance at Irving Plaza in New York City in February. The appearance shocked the audience and took the energy to new heights. It’s unclear how this lawsuit might impact Glo’s ability to perform the record live. However, we could imagine it’ll remain a part of her setlist this weekend at Coachella weekend two.

Unfortunately for Glo, this is the second lawsuit she must confront head-on in a matter of months. Earlier this year, a stampede broke out at a concert she and Finesse2Tymes headlined. The incident left three people dead and many others injured. Though GloRilla and Finesse left the venue prior to the incident. Nonetheless, the family of one of the victims said they would be taking both artists, as well as the venue and promoters, to court. At this point, no reports indicate that the family filed court documents yet. We’ll keep you posted on anymore updates surrounding GloRilla’s latest lawsuit. For now, check out “Tomorrow 2” and “Street Of The Westbank” below. Let us know if you can spot the similarities.

GloRilla Vs. Dog House Posse

Lil Durk Joins GloRilla For “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Debut, Confirms Album’s Done

The summer is quickly approaching and we need new music from Lil Durk. Fortunately, it looks like he’s finally ready to unload his highly-anticipated project. The rapper linked up with GloRilla ahead of their performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where he confirmed that his forthcoming album is finally done. “Trench babies @glorillapimp tonight it’s up p.s album done,” he wrote on Instagram. The two performed “Ex’s (PHATNALL Remix),” which appears on GloRilla’s extended version of her debut EP Anyways Life’s Great.

Perhaps, this is a sign that GloRilla could appear on Lil Durk’s next album. The two artists collaborated on Glo’s EP but prior to that, Don Toliver connected them on “Leave The Club.” However, their working relationship has certainly strengthened into a personal one. GloRilla previously FaceTimed Durk’s daughter, while he’s also joined her on stage on various occasions. Most recently, he popped out in Indio, CA for her Coachella set. It seems highly possible that he’ll pop out again during Weekend Two.

Lil Durk & GloRilla Lock In

The Chicago drill rapper hinted at the project over the past few months without providing any indication of when it might come out. Much of it seemed to be all talk but he announced last week that his album is finally done. Truthfully, these updates from Durk feel a bit redundant unless he has an actual release date to announce. But, between his recent NFT Sneaker Project and his attempt to win back India Love, he clearly has a few things on his plate these days.

Though GloRilla might end up on the project, Lil Durk previously suggested that the tracklist will be stacked with features. He confirmed Kodak Black will appear on the project, and announced a collaboration with J. Cole (that some believed could be an April Fool’s Joke). However, it seems like he also has some music with Drake in the cut, and hopes to land a feature from SZA. Whether all of these features will be cleared has yet to be seen but Durk is clearly revving up to take things up a notch on his follow-up to 7220
