It’s not the first time GloRilla and Cardi have referred to each other as cousins. GloRilla previously discussed her friendship with Cardi during an interview with NME published last year. “I ain’t got a lot of friends, and I’m easy to deal with. Cardi is my cousin. I was so happy and excited during the whole creative process,” she said at the time. “Cardi is a really sweet soul [with] such a genuine heart, and we come from a similar background, so it was easy to connect. And it was cr*zy when ‘Tomorrow 2’ hit the charts. I was like, ‘Ah! Ain’t nobody knew about me a couple of months ago!’”

Cardi B Calls Glorilla Her Cousin

GloRilla also shared her reaction to Cardi reaching out to her for the first time and admitted she’s tried sending her music before. “I had been sending Cardi music since I first started rapping, and I tried for so long to get her to look at my music. But then she ended up listening and liked my music, to the point where she was like, ‘I’ve already done my verse for ‘Tomorrow 2’ before I heard anything else from her. I love Cardi.”

Cardi B Assured A Fan That Her Boyfriend Is ‘In Heaven Turning Up’ After She Shared A Mournful TikTok

Cardi B is never one to mince words. Even when she means well, Cardi can’t help but add her humorous touch to her sentiments.

Last month, a fan took to TikTok to share a video of herself crying in her car as “Tomorrow 2,” Cardi’s viral collaboration with GloRilla, plays in the background. While “Tomorrow 2” isn’t necessarily a tear-jerking ballad, the song evidently held significance to the TikTokker.

The video is captioned, saying “me crying to this song because it was one of the last songs I played around my boyfriend before he died is crazy…”

Though the TikTok clip is over a month old, it was only recently brought to Cardi’s attention. Upon seeing the video, Cardi offered a brand of heartfelt reassurance only she could deliver.

“Awwww …I guess …..He in heaven turning up!,” she said.

GloRilla and Cardi B released “Tomorrow 2” last year, which launched a hot run of features for the Bronx-bred rapper. Since then, she’s added her magic touch to Latto’s “Put It On Da Floor” and FendiDa Rapper’s “Point Me 2.”

GloRilla Accused Of Stealing “Tomorrow” Sample In New Lawsuit: Report

GloRilla’s witnessing colossal success in her career. However, that also comes with its fair share of headaches, especially when clearing samples. Unfortunately, she’s learning about it the hard way now that she’s being sued over “Tomorrow.” Per TMZ, Ivory Paynes of Dog House Posse filed a lawsuit against GloRilla claiming she and her producer Macaroni Toni sampled the single, “Street Of The Westbank” from 1994. In the suit, he claims GloRilla and her producer stole elements of the record – piano, cello, and drums – without authorization.

Paynes lawsuit lists GloRilla, Collective Music Group, and her publishing companies, Warner Chappell and Sony/ATV Music, as the defendants. Though the song gained significant attention after Cardi B jumped on the remix for “Tomorrow 2,” Paynes didn’t list the Bronx star in the case. Regardless, if the judge rules in Paynes’ favor, GloRilla and the defendants might have to cough up some major dough.

While Paynes looks for his cut of the record, GloRilla’s taken the hit record on tour with her. The Memphis-born rapper brought Cardi B to perform the song at the AMA ceremony last year. Most recently, Cardi showed out for Glo’s performance at Irving Plaza in New York City in February. The appearance shocked the audience and took the energy to new heights. It’s unclear how this lawsuit might impact Glo’s ability to perform the record live. However, we could imagine it’ll remain a part of her setlist this weekend at Coachella weekend two.

Unfortunately for Glo, this is the second lawsuit she must confront head-on in a matter of months. Earlier this year, a stampede broke out at a concert she and Finesse2Tymes headlined. The incident left three people dead and many others injured. Though GloRilla and Finesse left the venue prior to the incident. Nonetheless, the family of one of the victims said they would be taking both artists, as well as the venue and promoters, to court. At this point, no reports indicate that the family filed court documents yet. We’ll keep you posted on anymore updates surrounding GloRilla’s latest lawsuit. For now, check out “Tomorrow 2” and “Street Of The Westbank” below. Let us know if you can spot the similarities.

Ice Spice Was Hyped At Cardi B’s “Tomorrow 2” Reference

It’s Ice Spice’s time to shine, and artists are noticing her light. The “Munch (Feelin U)” hitmaker has been on a whirlwind since her viral track took over the internet. Rappers spit freestyles over her beats, and she’s been co-signed by several chart-toppers. However, one person’s mention made Ice Spice the most excited.

The Bronx rapper comes from a hometown that hosts a plethora of artists who have found success in Hip Hop. During her chat with Ebro in the Morning on Hot 97, Peter Rosenberg wanted to know which reference from another artist was her favorite.

Cardi B Defends “Fighting Over D**k” Lyrics From “Tomorrow 2”

GloRilla and Cardi B made a huge hit when they dropped “Tomorrow 2” earlier this year. But some fans felt that they couldn’t relate to a certain lyric from the Bronx-born rapper.

Recently posting online, Cardi B tried to defend her “fighting over d**k” line in a video clip.

“If a b***h go through your purse and she steal some of your money, you not gonna fight that b***h?” she asked. “Yeah, b***h. You gonna fight for your money, right? So if a n***a is providing for you, giving you money, paying your bills, doing all that sh*t, and a b***h go take him from you, you not gonna fight over that d**k? ‘Cause that’s your money.”

“‘Cause I’m fighting with teeth,” the “Bodak Yellow” rapper continued. “I’m biting you b***h. Over my n***a. Yes, I am fighting you over that d**k.”

“Now if it’s a broke n***a, b***h I can’t help you,” Cardi B then joked.

The mother of two also addressed the lyric in a tweet posted Thursday, writing, “Y’all talkin bout y’all won’t fight over d**k but y’all be fighting over celebs online all the time ….somebody lying.”

After going viral with her early 2022 hit “F.N.F. (Let’s Go),” GloRilla proved her staying power by teaming up with Cardi B for “Tomorrow 2.” Racking up views on YouTube along with streams and radio play, the hit went on to sell over one million units in the U.S. alone.

The song also peaked at #9 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

Showing her appreciation for the “WAP” rapper, GloRilla recently gifted Cardi B a Patek watch for her 30th birthday.

Cardi B Doubles Down About Her ‘Tomorrow 2’ Lyric And Fighting Another ‘B*tch’ For A Man: ‘Don’t Drag Me’

Cardi B has offered her side of the story, following some backlash to a lyric in her verse from GloRilla’s “Tomorrow 2.”

“I fight for my b*tches and I’m fightin’ over d*ck too,” Cardi B notes on the song.

The Bronx rapper posted a video to Twitter of herself wearing a diamond Playboy chain, as she explains. “Don’t drag me !!!” she captioned.

“If a b*tch goes through your purse and she steals some of your money, you not gonna fight that b*tch?” she said in the video. “Yeah, b*tch, you gonna fight for your money, right? So if a n**** is providing for you, giving you money, paying your bills, doing all that sh*t, and a b*tch go take him from you — you not gonna fight over that d*ck?”

“That’s your money,” Cardi added. “You not gonna fight for that? B*tch, cause I’m fighting with teeth.”

Despite Cardi’s explanation, not everyone in the replies agreed with her take on fighting over a man.

“It’s hard no. If my man was taken by another women than he was never meant for me,” one person wrote.

“I get my own and that’s what I have taught my daughter. We are not out here relying on dudes for income!” another replied.

Glorilla Donates $25K To Her Former High School: ‘I Decided To Be A Blessing’

Glorilla is generating major buzz today (September 23) for “Tomorrow 2,” her remix track with Cardi B that had been teased since Wednesday. “Poppin’ sh*t, you would think I went to school for chiropractin’,” the CMG signee raps on the first verse. Glorilla returned to her actual former high school on Thursday (September 22) and she didn’t show up empty-handed.

“God has been so good to me,” Glorilla captioned an Instagram video showing her unveiling a check for $25,000 for Martin Luther King College Preparatory High School. “Blessing me back to back so I decided to be a blessing to the students from my alma mater Mlk preparatory high school in Memphis, TN. FRAYSER BABY 4L.”

According to Billboard, the funds will be dedicated to the fine arts program, and Glorilla treated the excited students to a performance of her breakthrough single “F.N.F.”

Glorilla was signed to CMG Records by Yo Gotti in July after the success of “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” with Hitkidd. “Tomorrow” arrived in mid-July as part of CMG’s compilation project Gangsta Art. Glorilla’s original single blew up to the tune of over 11 million YouTube views and 2.6 Spotify streams. The Cardi-assisted “Tomorrow 2” figures to cast an even wider net of influence.

Glorilla’s philanthropic trip back home comes just over a week after Cardi visited her former middle school and donated $100,000 toward arts education and after-school programs.

Cardi B Joins Glorilla On The Boastful Bar Fest ‘Tomorrow 2’

Cardi B gave GloRilla her biggest music moment yet by joining her on the remix to “Tomorrow,” from CMG’s compilation album Gangsta Art, titled “Tomorrow 2.” The two rappers are very dismissive of their haters on this record, but make plenty of time to brag about all of their high qualities.

GloRilla opens the record with the lines “Poppin’ sh*t, you would think I went to school for chiropractor / Lookin’ good as hell today, just sent my n**** five attachments / Why would you confront me about a n****? Man, you b*tches backwards / They come at me ’bout n****s I don’t even find attractive.”

Cardi jumps in later with fury, spitting “Ridin’ with my twin and nem, and we all on / She say she my opp but I don’t know her, had to look her up / I know that I’m rich but I can’t help it, b*tch, I’m hood as fuck / I’ve been on these b*tches necks so long, sometimes my foot get stuck.”

“Tomorrow 2,” announced Wednesday (September 21) follows a string of successes for GloRilla. The rapper signed with CMG after the success of her summer smash “FNF” with Hitkidd, which later received a remix featuring Latto and JT, one-half of the City Girls.

Cardi B has had an active 2022, with her most recent offering coming in the form of “Hot Sh*t” with Kanye West and Lil Durk. The Bronx artist appeared on B-Lovee’s “Shake It” alongside Dougie B and Bory300, as well as the extended version of Summer Walker’s “No Love” alongside SZA. Her feature run dates back to around her smash single “Up” in 2021, following that up with Migos’s “Type Sh*t,” Normani’s “Wild Side,” and Lizzo’s “Rumors.”
