The Beyhive Vs. The Swifties: Taylor Swift Addresses Fan Rivalry With Beyoncé

Beyonce, Taylor Swift

In a recent interview with TIME Magazine, Taylor Swift delves into the ongoing fan rivalry between her and Beyoncé’s fanbase.  As their respective successful tours and concert films spark comparisons, the pop star speaks up against the culture of “stan wars.”

‘The Only Ones Compared Were Me And Beyoncé’

The Beyhive and The Swifties have been continuously entangled in heated debates, meticulously comparing Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour to Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour, as both of their tours were deemed the most influential of the summer, with theater releases to follow.

In her recent interview with TIME, Swift stated:

“There were so many stadium tours this summer, but the only ones that were compared were me and Beyoncé. Clearly, it’s very lucrative for the media and stan culture to pit two women against each other, even when those two artists in question refuse to participate in that discussion.”

Taylor Swift showcases the depth of her bond with Beyoncé, revealing the admiration she holds for the music icon. The “Blank Space” singer describes Beyoncé as “the most precious gem of a person,” where she continued:

“When I’m talking to her, she is so warm and open and funny. She’s such a great disruptor of music-industry norms. She taught every artist how to flip the table and challenge archaic business practices.”

More Than ‘Industry Acquaintances’

Fans rejoice at Swift’s candid comments and the revelation of the genuine camaraderie between the two artists. One fan, @arianaunext, expressed “I love that they both love and support each other, especially since 2009. Despite their fandoms always fighting like cat and dog.”
Their friendship extends beyond being “industry acquaintances,” as Queen Bey attended the film premiere of Taylor’s The Eras Tour, amidst the “stan wars,”  where Taylor Swift reciprocated the gesture by supporting the “CUFF IT” singer’s London film premiere for Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé.

Mainstream Media’s Ongoing Comparison Of Taylor Swift To Beyoncé & Other Black Icons Spark Controversy

The ongoing debate surrounding Taylor Swift’s success has raised concerns about racial comparisons in the media, particularly when measuring her achievements against Black icons like Beyoncé. This debate extends to their respective fan bases, the Swifties and the Beyhive, and is further fueled by the recent releases of concert films from both artists.

Swifties Vs. Beyhive

An ongoing debate surrounding Taylor Swift and her success in the music industry has brought attention to mainstream media constantly comparing Swift’s achievements to those of Black icons instead of her white counterparts.

Media comparisons, like Yahoo Finance, tend to pit Queen Bey and the “Bad Blood” singer against each other, despite their unique contributions and accomplishments in the music industry. Furthermore, the comparison extends beyond the pop star’s success. Her fanbase, known as the “Swifties,” has been criticized for spreading racial hate towards Black icons, including Beyoncé.

The rivalry between both fanbases, the Swifties and the Beyhive has fueled the media’s comparison of the two artists, especially with both of them releasing concert films. When it comes to exposure, Beyoncé and Taylor Swift are often pitted against each other, and the fact that both have recently debuted major concert films in theaters has only given more platforms for such comparisons.

Separate Lanes

For instance, Beyoncé finds herself the subject of discussions in articles like the one from Yahoo Finance, with the headline, “What Taylor Swift’s Concert Film Success Means For Beyoncé.” Queen Bey is set to release her major film release on Friday, Dec 1, where it is titled RENAISSANCE: A Film By Beyonce.

However, it is crucial to recognize that both chart-topping artists have made their achievements in separate lanes, and comparing them disregards their artistry and contributions to the industry.

The history of Taylor Swift and Beyoncé’s relationship showcases their mutual support and respect. Despite the infamous incident at the 2009 VMAs, where Kanye West interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech, Beyoncé showed kindness by inviting Swift on stage to finish her speech during her award acceptance.

The two artists have always supported one another, especially with their recent appearance together at Taylor Swift’s movie premiere.

Michael Jackson’s Nephew Speaks Out

Fans have expressed their concern over Taylor Swift always being compared to Black artists and not her white counterparts. Swift recently released her concert film, The Eras Tour, on Friday, October 13 grossing $123,505,678 worldwide.

After her record was announced, multiple news outlets reported on Taylor Swift possibly surpassing the late legendary Michael Jackson’s 2009 This Is It documentary film. However, the pop legend’s nephew, Taj Jackson had words for the media outlets that spread the “misinformation,” emphasizing that MJ’s film doesn’t fall within the same category; it’s a documentary film and not a concert film like Swift’s.

Following Taj’s blasting of several media outlets, fans are questioning the media’s choice to constantly compare Swift to Black icons.

One fan wrote, “The media and music/entertainment publications never compare that white woman to legendary white artists. They always compare her to legendary Black artists like Michael Jackson, etc, and that says a lot. Legendary white artists can never be replaced, but our Black legendary artists can.” Another fan wrote, “Her PR team is obsessed with trying to humble black artists. It’s beyond weird at this point!”

What About Madonna, Britney Spears Or Justin Beiber?

They also argue that white artists like Madonna, also known as the Queen of Pop, Britney Spears, and Dua Lipa are rarely compared to Taylor Swift.

Even Justin Bieber, who once held the record for the highest-grossing concert film with Never Say Never in 2011, reaching a staggering $99,033,054 globally, is not as frequently compared to Swift.

Justin’s 2011 film even held the former record for the highest-grossing music concert film since 1984 in the United States. Additionally, Bieber also occupies number two for the highest-grossing concert film, with Taylor Swift claiming the top spot, surpassing over $100 million.

RAYE Faces Fan Backlash After Canceling Show

While white media’s obsession with comparing Taylor Swift to Black icons continues to be a source of controversy, it is essential to address the toxic environment that can emerge from fan culture. This issue extends beyond Swift’s fanbase, as many fandoms engage in toxic behavior and parasocial relationships. Recently, emerging U.K. artist RAYE faced fan backlash when she canceled a show to perform on Jimmy Fallon Tonight.

2023 Was Filled With Taylor Swift And Beyoncé Comparisons, And Swift (A Huge Beyoncé Fan) Is Tired Of It

Beyonce Taylor Swift Eras Tour Premiere 2023

Looking back on 2023 as the year comes to an end, it’s obvious to anybody who’s been paying attention that two concert tours stood out above the rest: Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour and Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour. Given that those were the leaders in the space, the treks, and the artists behind them, were subject to months and months of comparisons. For her part, Swift didn’t love that.

Swift was named Time‘s 2023 Person Of The Year yesterday (December 6), and in the cover story, she shared her perspective on being compared to Beyoncé: “There were so many stadium tours this summer, but the only ones that were compared were me and Beyoncé. Clearly, it’s very lucrative for the media and stan culture to pit two women against each other, even when those two artists in question refuse to participate in that discussion.”

She also noted of Bey, “She’s the most precious gem of a person — warm and open and funny. And she’s such a great disruptor of music-industry norms. She taught every artist how to flip the table and challenge archaic business practices.”

Of course, the two have been clear when it comes to how they feel about each other: Beyoncé showed up to the premiere of Swift’s Eras Tour movie in October, and Swift returned the favor at Beyoncé’s own concert film premiere the next month.

How Long Will Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ Movie Be In Theaters?

Despite AMC’s best efforts to break the soul of theatergoers, Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé persevered through breaking box office records during its opening weekend.

That’s right. The theater company’s restrictive conduct guidelines didn’t stop the BeyHive from releasing their wiggle down the aisle of each show. However, after a viral post on X (formerly Twitter) questioning the limited screening availability, those looking to see the concert visual are riddled with questions. The first is how long Beyoncé’s Renaissance movie will be in theaters.

According to NME, US and UK theaters are expected to wrap up on Sunday, December 10. This is seemingly confirmed on the schedule posted on AMC’s official webpage for the film.

On average, a typical movie is shown in theaters for anywhere between twelve and twenty weeks, depending on the film. In Taylor Swift’s case, her The Eras Tour concert reportedly will be able to be enjoyed at AMC theaters for thirteen weeks but with limited locations. Although their schedules are different, Swift and Beyoncé’s films share something in common: Both concert works are set to broadly be shown on the weekends (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays).

So, if you want to see Beyoncé, Blue Ivy, and the tour’s dancers in all of their glory, your window is quickly closing.

Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ Film Inspires Fans Worldwide As It Dominates The Box Office

Beyoncé

Beyoncé’s highly anticipated film, Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, has taken the box office by storm, surpassing expectations and inspiring her dedicated fanbase. With a high score on Rotten Tomatoes, the film has impressively made history.

Making Herstory

Debuting on Friday, Dec. 1, with a remarkable $21 million in North American ticket sales, Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé has become a historic success, marking the first time in 20 years that a film has opened over $20 million during the post-Thanksgiving period, since The Last Samurai.  The iconic entertainer has also become the first artist to have multiple eras garner a No. 1 song and movie.

Particularly, the box office tends to experience sluggish sales in early December following Thanksgiving; however, Queen Bey has successfully countered this trend. With a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, the film has received rave reviews and critical acclaim.

‘You Can’t Be Overrated When You’re Leading The Pack’

Fans who have watched the film have praised the icon’s tireless work ethic and relentless pursuit of excellence.

One user named @jacob_bellevue wrote, “This film is more confirmation that Beyoncé is the hardest-working artist in the music industry right now. You can’t be overrated when you’re leading the pack and reimagining what performance look like 20+ years in the game.”

Another user named @Lendryx_ wrote, “The Renaissance film didn’t inspire me to “go harder” at all. It was the antithesis of that, imo. Making smarter career decisions, maintaining your mental & physical health, bouncing back from setbacks, honoring your history, and making your loved ones a priority.”

In response, another fan named @heypierreking wrote, “That’s what I felt. I saw a creative adjusting their life to make the smartest decisions for their craft, wearing more hats to understand the processes and building a world that can live on after them. Buying time with talent to focus on freedom is a business model.”

‘I Am Who I Am’

Among the many lessons learned from the film, Beyoncé emphasizes the importance of not conforming to societal norms and staying true to oneself. In the film, she states:

“The biggest growth in my artistry has come from overcoming failure, conflict, and trauma. But the next phase of my life, I want it to come from peace and joy. I am who I am, and you take me, or you don’t. It’s a really beautiful place to be as a woman.. It’s the best time of my life. I thought I was there at 30, but nah, it’s getting better. Life is getting better. I spent so much of my life a serial people pleaser, and finally, I don’t give a f*ck.”

Additionally, Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé highlights Beyoncé’s unwavering determination to maintain control over her creative vision. As a successful Black woman in the industry, she recounts moments when others tried to shape her narrative and dictate her choices.

Queen Bey Stands Her Ground

However, the “CUFF IT” singer firmly stands her ground, refusing to let outsiders influence her path. The film also offers an intimate look behind the scenes, showcasing Beyoncé’s meticulous attention to detail and her ability to bring her artistic vision to life.

With Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, the superstar has once again captivated audiences and solidified her status as an iconic figure in the entertainment industry, as she continues to inspire many globally.

Beyoncé’s Renaissance Film To Include Bonus Visuals For Fans

Beyoncé has dropped a second trailer for her highly-anticipated RENAISSANCE: A Film By Beyoncé, which is set to hit theaters worldwide on Dec. 1. However, what has caught the attention of fans is the revelation that the film’s duration has been extended by an extra 20 minutes.

Queen Bey Adds 20 Mins

The film, which promises to follow her iconic Renaissance World Tour, has already stirred a frenzy among fans. But the change in the film’s duration ignited even more excitement. Initially slated to be 2 hours and 20 minutes long, adding 20 minutes has left fans curious.

The Beyhive Speculate

Speculation among fans has reached fever pitch, with many believing that the extra runtime suggests the inclusion of stunning visuals that elevate the film’s artistry.

One fan pondered, “Beyoncé movie is almost 3 hours long! Maybe the visuals are a part of the film.” Another excitedly mused, “Beyonce ending the film with the visuals would send me to heaven in that theater!!!”

In the newly-released trailer, fans also noticed the presence of Kevin JZ Prodigy, the voice of Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour, who has played a significant role in the Renaissance album as well.

Beyoncé Gets Candid In New Trailer

The trailer itself offers glimpses into the “HEATED” artist’s personal and professional life, as she stated in the trailer:

“In this world that is male-dominated, I had to be really tough. To balance motherhood and being on the stage, it just reminds me of who I am.”

As she reflects on balancing motherhood and her career, the trailer shows intimate moments with her daughter, Blue Ivy, who played a prominent role in the Renaissance World Tour. Additionally, the trailer provides heartwarming glimpses of Beyoncé with her twins Rumi and Sir Carter and her husband Jay-Z.

As the release date draws closer, the excitement surrounding the film continues to grow, with fans eagerly speculating about what surprises the Queen has in store.

Beyoncé & Taylor Swift Unite At Movie Premiere, Easing Fanbase Tensions

As excitement builds for Taylor Swift and Beyoncé’s concert films, discussions are emerging. Parkwood Entertainment, Queen Bey’s label, has revamped its social media presence to promote her film Renaissance. Meanwhile, rivalry and comparisons between the two pop stars’ fan bases have sparked debates, while a heartwarming moment between the two artists at Swift’s movie premiere has helped ease tensions.

‘RENAISSANCE: A FILM BY BEYONCÉ’

As fans anticipate a major pop culture event, debates ignite over the cinematic releases of Taylor Swift and Beyoncé’s concert films.

Parkwood Entertainment recently caused a stir within the Beyhive by revamping its social media presence. Fans have quickly noticed that the label has cleared its Instagram feed, replacing all previous posts with just one – the trailer for Beyoncé’s upcoming concert film, Renaissance.

A complete shift from their usual promotional techniques, Parkwood has changed its profile picture to a bold red-news-inspired icon featuring the number “4,” a significant symbol for the “CUFF IT” singer, in front of a globe. The bio has been updated to read:

“Your official home for RENAISSANCE: A FILM BY BEYONCÉ updates.”

Regarding Parkwood’s revamp, one fan wrote, “parkwood just changed their whole layout, and basically archived all of their photos on insta, changed it to Kunty 4 News…. like ya’ll… it’s TIME.”

‘STAN WARS’

With the release of Beyoncé’s Renaissance concert film drawing closer, fanbases have been engaged in heated discussions comparing it to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert film that hit theaters on October 13, 2023. However, a heartwarming gesture at the pop star’s movie premiere shut down the drama between fanbases, as Queen Bey and Taylor were spotted together.

Fans were overjoyed at the sight and took to social media to share their excitement. One fan wrote, “The STAN WARS are over,” emphasizing the drama between the Swifties and the Beyhive.

Swift expressed gratitude for the singer, writing:

“I’m so glad I’ll never know what my life would’ve been like without Beyonce’s influence. The way she’s taught me and every artist out here to break rules and defy industry norms. Her generosity of spirit. Her resilience and versatility. She’s been a guiding light throughout my career and the fact that she up tonight was like an actual fairytale.”

Beyoncé Set To Take Fans Behind The Scenes Of Her Historic Renaissance World Tour

Beyoncé has set the stage for another momentous release, as she unveils Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé. This documentary takes audiences on a mesmerizing journey through her legendary Renaissance World Tour, from its opening show in Stockholm, Sweden, to its grand finale in Kansas City, Missouri, offering an intimate glimpse into her artistry and musical legacy.

‘Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé’

Beyoncé, the undeniable icon of the music industry, is again making waves as she announces the release of her highly anticipated film, Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé.

The film, which traces her epic Renaissance World Tour, promises to offer fans an intimate look at her creative process and artistic legacy. It is set to be released in theaters on December 1.

The reveal of this film occurred on Sunday, October 1, when Queen Bey concluded her last show in Kansas City, Missouri, as part of the Renaissance Tour.

A Surprise From The Queen

As the performance of “Summer Renaissance” ended, the mega-screens lit up with the trailer for her upcoming film, leaving fans at the concert venue and across social media in awe. One enthusiastic fan exclaimed, “Beyoncé’s really about to sell out stadiums and movie theaters in the same year. A legend.”

Prior to this electrifying reveal, Beyoncé’s team, led by her publicist Yvette Noel Schure, had been teasing the Beyhive with cryptic hints of a surprise from the Queen herself, sending social media into a frenzy. They had initiated an Instagram countdown, tantalizingly labeled “This Is A Reminder,” a nod to the iconic singer’s second track on the Renaissance album, “COZY.”

Following the release, the “Alien Superstar” singer took to her Instagram captioning, “Be careful what you ask for, ’cause I just might comply. Tickets are on sale now, in theaters 12.01.”

In Honor Of ‘Uncle Johnny’

Notably, the trailer features appearances from her eldest daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, who had previously joined her mother on stage at several shows, and her twins, Rumi and Sir Carter. The film is an extensive 2 hours and 30 minutes, offering an immersive experience for fans.

It’s also worth noting that her upcoming film will be released on World AIDS Day, Dec. 1, a poignant choice given that the tour and album were dedicated to her late “Uncle Johnny,” who tragically passed away from complications stemming from HIV.

Tickets are now on sale for the December 1 theater release.

Shattering Records

The Beyoncé effect remains an undeniable force, as she made headlines by becoming the sole female artist ever to boast the highest-grossing tour, amassing a staggering sum of nearly $300 million.

Additionally, as Queen Bey’s 56-city Renaissance World Tour reaches its grand ending, it has shattered records and had a significant economic impact on the United States. According to The New York Times, Beyoncé is estimated to have contributed a staggering $4.5 billion to the American economy, comparable to the economic boost Beijing received from the 2008 Olympics.

Russ Promotes New Short Film

The trend of musical artists venturing into the world of cinema is on the rise, with rapper Russ joining the ranks. The New Jersey native recently unveiled his latest creative endeavor, a short film entitled Santiago, which debuted in more than 80 theaters across the United States and the United Kingdom.

Is Beyoncé Working On A New Album?

beyonce
Getty Image

Beyoncé is at the top of the North American box office this morning, December 4, as with Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé coolly collected $21 million over the weekend (as per The Associated Press). The “masterful” movie, as reviewed by Uproxx’s Philip Cosores, somehow one-upped its supremely successful predecessors, Beyoncé’s 2022 Renaissance album and supporting Renaissance World Tour. It seems overly simplified to say that such domination happened because Beyoncé worked hard, but her mother, Tina Knowles, doesn’t agree.

Over the weekend, Knowles celebrated her daughter’s Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé release with several “Proud Mom” Instagram posts. And one of her captions hinted that Beyoncé might already be working on a new album.

“Last one about the Rotten Tomatoes!” Knowles captioned a screenshot of the 100% Rotten Tomatoes reviews of the concert movie. “Just saw this !! When you see how hard someone works and all the sacrifices they make because for the last month my child was in a studio almost 24 hours a day I was with her most of that time sleeping in the studio! She only went to take her kids to school to shower and come back.”

She continued, “There are only a few people that understand how hard she works ! how she works on every single thing that goes out in a movie or a video or a tour . #that is why I ride so hard for her !!! She deserves every [accolade] that she gets.”

Whether Beyoncé is actually preparing another album is anyone’s guess. Renaissance arrived in July 2022 as her first solo LP since April 2016’s Lemonade, a substantial gap.

It’s worth noting that Beyoncé initially billed Renaissance as a “three-act project” in a statement on her website around its release. She also shared that she had recorded it all “over three years during the pandemic,” so it would seem that she already has two more releases in the vault ready for release.

That said, a generational artist like Beyoncé never rests, so maybe she’s in the studio still tweaking the other two parts? Maybe she’s recording another album entirely? Or maybe she’s just wired to work on music around the clock regardless of if anyone else hears it? History would suggest Beyoncé will let us know what she wants us to know precisely when she wants us to know it, and not one second sooner.

Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ Movie Is Reportedly Set To Gross Nearly $22 Million At The Box Office For Its Opening Weekend

Beyonce

Beyoncé’s latest concert movie, Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, is well on its way to smashing box office records. On Friday, December 1, the highly-anticipated movie, featuring dazzling tour footage from the Renaissance World Tour, was released globally in AMC Theaters.

Just as the concert experience sold out in cities worldwide, so did the film showings. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Renaissance is on track to set a record as the North American box office numbers are crunched, with a projected gross of nearly $22 million domestically. If true, the film could become one of the biggest early December box office openings in two decades.

Beyoncé has a proven record of drawing in tons of viewers. Back in 2019, Forbes revealed that the singer’s 2019 Netflix documentary Homecoming pulled in 1.1 million U.S. viewers and an average minute audience of 828,000 viewers on internet-connected TV devices on its premiere date, which was backed by Nielsen’s SVOD Content Ratings system.

Movies made a huge comeback this year, with several musicians partnering with AMC to distribute their films. Travis Scott’s Circus Maximus was shown at select theaters in July. Russ’ Santiago followed in September. Both Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour and Beyoncé’s Renaissance concert films dominated the theaters. So, who runs the world? Girls.

Beyonce & Sexyy Red Dominate Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

Even though the year is about to end, our new Fire Emoji playlist update– which covers the best bangers in the hip-hop realm each week– is still stacked. Leading the way is Sexyy Red with the release of the deluxe version of her album, Hood Hottest Princess. Moreover, the St. Louis MC had plenty of jams on here, with “Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad)” and “Ghetto Princess” with Chief Keef being particular standouts. In addition, we also had Beyoncé grace us with a new track “My House.” It’s a triumphant, boastful, genre-fusing, and above all energizing cut with some incredible production and cohesive progressions.

Furthermore, BigXthaPlug made a big impact on Fire Emoji this week with his new album THE BIGGEST. While there are many more notable efforts here, the track “CLIMATE” with Offset is a cold and grimy highlight. Keeping with that hardened street perspective is NBA YoungBoy’s new song “Run,” which is a little more melodic. Regardless, it still presents itself as a gritty narrative, one accentuated by the Baton Rouge MC’s harsh delivery and relentless flow.

HNHH Fire Emoji Playlist: Stream

In a totally different lane on our Fire Emoji playlist update are Flying Lotus, Smoke DZA, and the one and only Black Thought. Their new collaboration “Drug Trade” already came out earlier this year, but this new “Pt 2” remix adds a skillful verse from Benny The Butcher. Speaking of Griselda affiliates, Conway The Machine and Conductor Williams finally dropped their collaborative project CONDUCTOR MACHINE. 7xvethegenius steals the show on “Flame,” although the main artists do an amazing job in their areas, too. There’s a similar dynamic on Veeze’s “ATL Freestyle 1 & 2,” on which Luh Tyler and Rob49 meet the moment as special guests.

Rounding out our update is BabyDrill’s new song “Watchin Now,” which is one of the more chilled-out records from our playlist additions this week. Finally, Bas continues to build anticipation for his soon-to-come new album with his upbeat single “179 Deli” with AJ Tracey. Let us know in the comments what your favorite release of these was, and also what we missed this week. Azealia Banks Goes Off On Fan Accusing Her Of Bleaching And Questioning Beyoncé’s Blackness

beyazaelia

Azealia Banks recently responded to a fan for accusing her of bleaching her skin after she praised Beyoncé’s controversial new look. Beyonce gave people something to talk about when she appeared at her London screening of ‘Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé’. Beyonce stunned in her long platinum hair and had social media fans questioning if she lightened her skin. Azealia came to Beyonce’s defense as she read a fan for filth about Beyonce’s skin color.

The fan wrote:

Alright AB, relax. These last few pics you gave us got us looking at you sideways too. You not as Brown as we were introduced. You look like you hittin’ the cake soap too.

To which Azealia responded:

YOU GUYS R INSANE.
THE BITCH LOOK TF GEWDT. PERIODDDD.
She is black, she has white ancestry. She does not hate herself, but anyone who has the time to delve into PLAYED OUT skin bleaching politics in 2023 SURELY has at least 20 other pro-black things they could be doing with the time spent trying to figure out if it’s gluta or kojic. LMAO She been light skinteded and we live for this look. This is the one and only BlANCA BARDOT. don’t question ha! Tuh! BLACK WOMEN DO NOT OWE YOU ANY EXPLANATIONS FOR ANYTHING GO ASK YOUR MOTHER.

And yes growing up in the hood, eating Chinese or chicken spot/ food stamps/freezer foods, no knowledge of skincare outside of a washcloth and dove soap. Knowing nothing about an spf/ microdermabrasion scrub/dry body brush… I never heard of putting a butter on my skin until I was 22! I had no clue butter even existed for skin, it was Nivea lotion and baby oil ONLY. So yes with fame came the financial opportunity to explore grooming products outside of the 99cent store and the pharmacy, it gave me the financial freedom to shop in places where they served fresh salads and green juice. This is actually my natural skin color, I am no longer OVERPRODUCING melanin because my body is battling environmental stress/ cellular oxidation due to malnutrition and food apartheid. Do you know what melanin is? What its evolutionary biological purpose is? Can you explain the melanin synthesis pathway to me? The different types of melanin? What is the main enzyme involved in melanin synthesis, and by which biochemical process does that enzyme undergo to create melanin? I’II wait…..

Thoughts?

Tokyo Toni Disses Beyonce & Blue Ivy, Karlissa Saffold Comes To Their Rescue

Blac Chyna has been on a radical path of self-transformation over the past 12 months, but we can’t say the same for her mom, Tokyo Toni. As we enter December, the latter continues her antics of talking trash about other celebrities on social media, most recently going off on Beyonce and her firstborn daughter, Blue Ivy, as they celebrate the success of their RENAISSANCE concert film landing in theatres. “Dear Beyonce, try again. Girl please, get out of here,” Toni began her rant ahead of the weekend.

“Scripted, made-up pieces and portions. Dear Beyonce, can you do me a favour? Can you go to the Moon? Build your house there with your husband, and your kids,” the embattled entertainer went on. “Why are you grooming our Black children through your daughter?” Toni asked the Houston native. “I don’t care nothing about your BeyHive, those lil demons will get sprayed down with my mouth – pure Holy water,” she further threatened any fans who dare defend the Carter family. Despite her words of caution, Blueface’s mom, Karlissa Saffold, appeared in @theneighborhoodtalk’s comment section with a message for the 51-year-old.

Tokyo Toni’s Latest Target is Beyonce and Her Firstborn

“Girl, if you don’t stop messing with Blue Ivy!” the reality star stepped up to bat for the 11-year-old. “She is proving the Black children early work ethics through generational talent. Don’t discourage her because she ain’t out here getting pregnant and waiting to be nobody baby momma like us. Don’t do her,” Saffold added.

While Karlissa Saffold may feel entitled to call out Tokyo Toni for her wrongdoings, it wasn’t so long ago that the internet was coming after her for bashing Sexyy Red. Blueface’s mom has since apologized for her hateful comments, but still, some feel she should think twice before critiquing her contemporary next time. Taylor Swift Shouts Out Beyonce For Invitation To “RENAISSANCE” Premiere

When it comes to superstar musicians across the world, you can’t really get much bigger than Taylor Swift and Beyonce. Both are absolute titans in their fields, and while some have tried to pit them against each other (we’re looking at you, Mr. “I’ma Let You Finish, But”), they continue to praise one another amid their own gargantuan paths. For example, Queen Bey recently invited the Midnights magnate to the London premiere of her RENAISSANCE concert film. Via Twitter, Swift thanked Miss Carter for the experience, and urged all of her fans to go support this movie in theaters.

“Got invited to London by The Queen…” Taylor Swift wrote on the social media platform on Friday (December 1). “RENAISSANCE: A Film by Beyoncé is in theaters now!!” Moreover, this is very notable because Beyonce went to the premiere of her Eras concert film, so it’s only right that the Pennsylvania native would return the favor. In fact, she shared some snaps of the event, too, and the two looked absolutely radiant in them. Maybe in the coming days, we’ll even get some video of their interactions or what other fun times went down at the silver carpet rollout.

Taylor Swift & Beyonce At The RENAISSANCE Film’s London Premiere

Of course, Beyonce’s RENAISSANCE tour motion picture will likely be a wild hit commercially, much like Taylor Swift’s Eras. It’s actually quite bizarre to get two huge music movies in a similar realm come out so close to one another. We guess that the best part about that, other than giving a nice boost for theaters, is that they didn’t come out close enough to each other to trample on the other’s success. Fans can go pretty far, but up until this point, it’s been nice to see the pop star duo show so much respect to one another.
