Azealia Banks Faces Her “DILEMMA” On New Single: Stream

If there’s one thing Azealia Banks is always good for, it’s talking her s**t. Unfortunately for fans of the “212” hitmaker’s music, it’s been a minute since we’ve heard her delivering disses over genre-bending production like only she can. Instead, Banks has notably spent the past few years lashing out at virtually every other artist in the industry. Few have been spared from her explicit rants, though now that she’s turning her focus back to music, it’s possible we may see less hate posting from the witty lyricist.

This New Music Friday (October 27), Banks finally delivered “DILEMMA,” which was previously teased on social media. The short, infectious single was produced by Chad Dexter, Adalberto, DeQuesada, and Theplayxobeats, crafting a perfect soundscape for the notoriously sassy recording artist to lay down her bars on. “Get with it / I see you sendin’ ’em shots, y’all ni**as opps, I ain’t miss s**t,” Azealia spits seconds in. “Take my quick hit, uh / And I’m blowin’ your brains, best believe I won’t miss this.”

Azealia Banks Prepares Fans for Long-Awaited Business & Pleasure Album

As Genius notes, the song is set to appear on the tracklist of Banks’ long-awaited Business & Pleasure LP. It’s been in the works since 2015, with May 2019 scheduled as the original release date. October of that year saw another failed attempt at putting out the album, which we could finally get an update on now that the East Coast rap diva is sharing her work with the world again. The only other track we’ve heard her on in 2023 is “New Bottega” with Torren Foot just before spring began.

Listen to Azealia Banks’ second release of the year, “DILEMMA” above. If you’re feeling the latest from the Sea Queen, make sure to find it on Spotify/Apple Music. For more HNHH release recommendations, tap back in later this weekend to stream our Fire Emoji and R&B Season updates.

Diddy & Yung Miami Targeted By Azealia Banks In Scathing New Rant

Much to the internet’s pleasure, Azealia Banks is once again failing to bite her tongue when it comes to celebrity affairs. After chiming in on the beef unfolding between Joe Budden and Drake earlier this month, she’s now sharing her two cents on Sean Combs, whom the “212” hitmaker clearly doesn’t have a very high opinion of. “Can we also stop pretending like @diddy has done anything for hip-hop or Black people?” Banks wrote on her Instagram Story this week. According to her, his only contributions include stealing, getting high, alcoholism, and even “[coercing] artists into compromising sexual encounters to blackmail them.”

As her rant continued, the Harlem native also called Combs out for “stealing” his ex, Cassie, from Ryan Leslie, only to “do absolutely nothing with her for over a decade.” Banks added, “I don’t think [Diddy] understands that Ciroc isn’t considered a luxury brand because I truly don’t think he knows just how uncouth and ghetto he himself is.” At this point is when she decided to drag Yung Miami into the chat. “Think about it, it took 25 years of stealing, doing drugs, and getting drunk to ust now have cracked a $1 billion net worth. What’s he got to show for it? Caresha?” Azealia quipped.

Azealia Banks Has Words for Diddy and Yung Miami

“LMAO lord. A ni**a like Diddy doesn’t get to make the lives of so many Black artists miserable and hide behind a veneer of being charitable,” she wrote on another slide. It seems Banks’ goal in lashing out at the Bad Boy founder is to encourage him to give masters back to his former artists. “How about you get your non-musical grubby hands off of everything musical and PLEASE exit the Black politic conversation stage left,” she begged of him.

Diddy and Yung Miami may not be willing to settle down with each other in a traditional relationship, but still, their unique bond has definitely lasted through the test of time. They’ve obviously faced a few speedbumps along the way, but for the most part, the pair seems grateful to be enjoying each other’s company and turning out hits like “Act Bad” in the meantime. Azealia Banks Has Words for Drake and Birdman After They Came for Joe Budden

Azealia Banks Cancels Album Following 'Wild n Out' Taping

Azealia Banks has seen all the smoke sent Joe Budden‘s way from Drake and Birdman and has some words to say. Hitting Instagram, Banks told Drake what is not Hip-Hop.

Does Drake know his nose job and liposuction is not hip hop?
Does Drake know that no one who actually understands hip hop — a culture born from oppressed, don’t reeeeeeeallly care about his soft-toothed colonized confused mixed-race facsimile attempts to exhibit the true authenticity of an actual MC? Does Drake know his desperate attempts to gangsterize Canadian “street life” is an all-encompassing failure in and of itself?

– Azealia Banks

She then turned her attention to Birdman:

Also, can hip hop get ANYMORE TRASHY? Does Birdman know how low IQ, tacky, and how much of a fucking loser he looks threatening Joe Budden via the internet? Like… You can get arrested for that, Birdman.

– Azealia Banks

You can see it from Banks below and read more about the threats to Joe Budden here.

Azealia Banks Didn’t Hold Back With Comments To Drake About His Response To Joe Budden’s Criticism

As one of the biggest names in hip-hop today, Drake’s always a lightning rod for controversy and criticism, but the target on his back always gets bigger and glows brighter in the wake of a new album release. For All The Dogs is no exception, as the Canadian rapper’s eighth solo studio album has brought with it a clamorous reaction from both fans and media personalities like Charlamagne The God and Joe Budden.

Of course, this time around, Drake’s been as ready with a spicy retort of his own every time they’ve dissed him. However, even his replies are catching flak now. After Drake sent a sassy sally at Joe Budden for the former rapper’s salty review, Azealia Banks, of all people, chimed in with some scathing commentary of her own, reviving a few derogatory rumors about Drake in the process.

“Does drake know his nose job and liposuction is not hiphop??” she wrote on Instagram. “Does drake know that no one who actually understands hiphop – a culture born from oppressed, don’t reeeeeeeeallly care about his soft-toothed colonized confused mixed-race facsimile attempts to exhibit the true authenticity of an actual MC? Does drake know his desperate attempts to gangsterize Canadian ‘street life’ is an all encompassing failure in and of it itself?”

Of course, you can’t always take everything Banks says seriously. After all, if plastic surgery is a mark against Drake, Banks is standing in a glass house throwing one hell of a stone. She’s also been pretty wrong about everything from West Coast hip-hop to Cardi B’s popularity, and her comments generally reek of sour grapes and Haterade. We’ll see if Drake responds to her the same way he did Charlamagne and Budden, but to be honest, I think we’d all be better off just letting Azealia yell at the clouds.

Azealia Banks Sort Of Praised Nicki Minaj’s ‘Last Time I Saw You’ Single Promo Images, But It Wasn’t Without Some Shade

Nicki Minaj is moving full steam ahead on her forthcoming album, Pink Friday 2, to ensure it drops on its November 11 release date. After teasing several unreleased song snippets on TikTok, Minaj took to Instagram on Friday, August 25, to announce her next single, “Last Time I Saw You,” with new promotional images and a video.

The materials were enough to break down the defenses of a notorious online hater of all things, Azealia Banks. In a screenshot captured by Pop Crave, Banks took to her Instagram stories to praise Minaj’s beauty in a lengthy note underlined with shade.

“Like I would never even think you’d like something like this,” wrote Banks. “This is the best look I have ever seen you in. Ever, okay? It’s soft, it’s delicate, it’s kinda North African vibes, it’s bohemian, your facial expression is so relaxed and radiant, and this body?! Nicki, I’ve never seen you look this comfortable in your own skin! Yes. This is sensuality, honey, okay.”

She continued, “Nicki, if you get some cute little Russian twists cuts going, it’s over. Like so, so over. Nah, after this, I never wanna see you choked up in a waist trainer ever again. I’ve always thought you were pretty, but this is radiant beauty and glamour right here. I just shed a tear. She’s giving ribcage. F*k it up, yas. Nah, for real, sis. I’m not even trying to shade you, but you have never ever looked this chic, stylish, sexy, or at ease.”

Banks has said some disgusting things online, including her insensitive remarks about the late social media influencer Jacky Oh. Could this be the dawning of a new era for her?

Nicki Minaj has not shared any further updates regarding her upcoming single “Last Time I Saw You.”

Azealia Banks Says Beyonce Is “Nasty,” While Nicki Minaj Is “Chic, Stylish, Sexy, At Ease…”

Azealia Banks continues to share her negative thoughts about other celebrities with us via Instagram, but the New Yorker has added a notable amount of positivity into her tirades lately as well. Earlier in the month she gave Cardi B her flowers while laying into others like ASAP Rocky and Rihanna. Now, Banks is sharing her thoughts on another rap divaNicki Minaj – who is hard at work readying her Pink Friday 2 album for a fall debut.

“Like I would never even think you’d like something like this,” Azealia wrote on her Story when reposting an image of the Queen of Rap modelling a revealing outfit. “THIS IS THE BEST LOOK I HAVE EVER SEEN [YOU] IN. EVERRRRRRR OKAY? Nicki I have never seen you this comfortable in your own skin… I’m not even trying to shade you… But you have never ever looked this chic, stylish, sexy, at ease,” the controversial lyricist’s praise continued.

Azealia Banks Gives Nicki Minaj Her Flowers

As HipHopDX notes, others in the limelight were less lucky when their turn came to face Banks’ wrath. Skai Jackson, Franz Ferdinand, CupcakKe, and Primary Talent International CEO Matt Bates all felt the heat as the multi-talent called them out for hypocritical and wannabe behaviour, among other things. In the comment section of that post, a brave user asked Azealia to share her thoughts on Beyonce’s RENAISSANCE tour, which she certainly didn’t hold back on.

“I stayed home. I decided I didn’t want to see Giselle and Blue Ivy’s cabaret,” her reply began. “I wasn’t leaving the comfort of my mansion to hear her sing Mary J. Blige covers and literally watch the same show I can watch on Instagram. In a big way, I kind of got over her that night. For a woman who’s done so much nasty stuff behind the scenes to stifle other Black female artists yet STILL is too afraid to come at Adele for ki’ing on her little ‘Lemonade’ stunt and tearing a Grammy in half while she’s in the front row pregnant???”

Azealia Banks Praises Cardi B & Tinashe, Disses ASAP Rocky, Rihanna & Others

For once, Azealia Banks is using her social media platform to spread positivity about other artists (though it didn’t last long before her Instagram Story posts once again took a turn for the negative). To begin her weekend, the New York native shared her thoughts on Cardi B, revealing that the mother of two is actually much kinder than the public perception seems to paint her. “[Cardi] genuinely reached out when I was having a real rough time mentally during the pandemic and it was really so heartwarming and helpful,” Banks wrote over a black screen.

She further noted that the Invasion of Privacy artist “isn’t a bad person.” In fact, Azealia says “she’s really a sweetie pie” who she would “highkey love to kiki with.” Another female entertainer that’s currently in the embattled lyricists’ good graces is Tinashe. “It’s time to put some respect on [her] name,” Banks told her followers in another post.

Azealia Banks Has High Praise for Cardi B and Tinashe

It’s rare to see the “Luxury” singer uplifting so many other women at once, and many were enjoying the good energy coming from her content. It didn’t last, however, as a few slides later Banks had some thoughts on the ongoing discourse about New York’s best rappers. “Now why would y’all gas Rocky like this? Like he got a single memorable bar worth repeating?” she asked. “I grew up with Rocky, he’s always had imposter syndrome.

She went on to notably praise ASAP Ferg and ASAP Nast for their contributions to East Coast hip-hop, but not before insulting the intelligence of Rocky’s girlfriend. “Lol thank god Rihanna is not smart enough to have snagged Relli,” she name-dropped another member of the ASAP crew. “That’s the type of d**k you have to fight a b**ch in the streets for,” Azealia continued.

Azealia Banks Says She’s Not A Huge Doja Cat Fan: She Gives ‘Biracial Girl Identity Crisis Vibes’

Screen Shot 2023 06 17 at 9.41.20 AM

Azealia Banks has shared her opinion on another artist on social media again, this time her target was singer Doja Cat. Doja just released her new single, “Attention,” and  Banks revealed that she isn’t a huge fan of the “Woman” songstress and threw a shot at Kendrick Lamar.

“I really be wanting to like Doja’s music but it’s all just sooo try hard,” she began her Instagram rant. “Her first album was actually cool as hell,” she says, calling it “her own authentic art voice.” She continues, claiming Doja Cat “sounds like a white girl that grew up in a house.” “It’s not giving that pissy stairwell / bacon egg and cheese / vanilla Dutch nyc energy she’s reaching for,” Banks says, adding that California rap is “purposefully inoffensive and caters to paper shoe Tom and matted hair Abigail.”

Banks continued to tear into Doja, saying “Her approach to trying to conceptualize an authentic rap record is giving angel haze NYC WANNABE levels of boring rippity rap/ cheesy soho whiteboy hypebeast circa ’06.” “She’s giving me those weird fka twigs biracial girl identity crisis vibes,” she added. Banks then called Kendrick Lamar “MAD overrated and extremely complacent.” She further accused the rapper of having “white ghostwriters writing about the black struggle n sh*t.”

Thoughts?

Azealia Banks Shared Her Thoughts On Doja Cat’s New Single ‘Attention’ And They’re As Petty As You Expect

She’s at it again. Azealia Banks, who never passes up a chance to share her opinion whether anyone asked or not, has thoughts on Doja Cat‘s new single, “Attention” — naturally. Banks posted her feelings on her Instagram Story, positing that Doja “sounds like a white girl that grew up in a house,” whatever the hell that’s supposed to mean.

The ever-opinionated Harlem rapper went on to demean California rap as a whole (“California rap culture is simply not as dynamic/impactful/swagged out as east coast/southern rap culture” — lol, girl, shut the hell up) before name-checking both her fellow early teens blog rap draft bust Angel Haze (sorry) and another genre-bending artist, FKA Twigs, who Banks derided with snipes at her biracial heritage.

She also felt the need to diss Kendrick Lamar, for some reason, calling him “overrated” and saying “he be making the kind of rap music that allows white people to indulge in weird fetishization of ‘the black struggle.’”

Sigh.

Look, she has legitimate reasons to be angry. After all, she started the rap weird girl wave in the 2012 with “212,” but she also hasn’t had a hit since — mostly due to her own outrageous behavior and lashing out at pretty much anyone she doesn’t like (which seems to be, at this point, everyone). Doja’s taken it much further without imploding, so of course Banks is mad at her. Ol’ “it should have been me” ass. Anyway, it’s pretty funny how suddenly she’s defending Nicki Minaj, someone else she once feuded with, because if anyone’s gonna move a goal post, it’s Azealia Banks. Anyway, here’s that “attention” you ordered.
