Cardi B Admits She Hated Living In Atlanta As Offset Divorce Develops

Cardi B has revealed a little more details about her relationship with Offset amid their divorce, and this time around, it concerns their living situation. Moreover, you may have already heard that Pooh Shiesty jumped on this news quick and thirsted after the Bronx femcee. This even led to an apparent response from the former Migo, but regardless, their actual dynamic is not as contentious as this would have you believe. Still, she recently admitted via Instagram Live on Thursday (August 22) that she never liked living in Atlanta, as she felt very lonely. Also, Cardi explained why she’s currently apartment-hunting in New York.

“Right now, I’m in the city, and I need to go take a shower,” Cardi B expressed, sharing that she’s tired of having to use her engineer’s gym’s bathroom or rent hotels to shower. “I’m going to be coming to have meetings with my label like twice a week. And on top of that, I’m trying to get an office out here. I don’t live in Atlanta, I have a house in Atlanta. I only go to Atlanta like three or four times a year. And probably I go for a week, maybe less. I tried to move to Atlanta in 2018 and I lived there for like six months. And I hated it. I don’t have not one friend in Atlanta, and I don’t have not even one family member in Atlanta. So I just don’t like Atlanta.”

Cardi B Admits She Hated Living In Atlanta

As such, it seems like this New York search doesn’t have anything to do with her divorce from Offset, but rather prepping for her next album and next child. Fans have been waiting for the project for a very long time, and we still don’t know exactly when we can expect it to be in our hands. Nevertheless, Cardi B is very excited to show the Bardi Gang what she has in store. She certainly has a lot of topics to address these days, so we’ll see if they appear on wax as well.

Meanwhile, Cardi B said she’s “comfortable” in New York and that she lives in her New Jersey home with her children. But elsewhere, other fans care less about the family drama and more about some rap beef speculation. She seemed to ask folks to not mention Nicki Minaj and JT during an Instagram Live session, responding directly to a fan who explicitly mentioned them. We’ll see if 2024 holds any more diss tracks than what we already got.

Bambi Almost Throws Hands On “Love & Hip Hop” After Intense Bickering With Amy Luciani

Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta is having quite the hectic season so far, with a particularly viral moment leading the spicy and salacious charge. Moreover, Bambi and Amy Luciani recently experienced a very heated argument on the show, as Luciani initially called Bambi “fake” and sparked a spat. The insults and back-and-forths are pretty par the course if you’re a fan of the show, and while things didn’t turn violent or physical, they certainly threatened to take it there. What’s more is that Amy even brought up all the drama around Bambi and Lil Scrappy, which definitely doesn’t bode well for the rest of the season as far as amicability goes.

While folks thought that they reunited following their messy split, Bambi and Lil Scrappy took to Instagram Live to explain their current status. Most importantly, they clarified that they still maintain a healthy coparenting relationship when it comes to their three children: Xylo, Breland, and Cali. In addition, they also made it clear that they will stay on L&HH: Atlanta after ten-plus years of tenure, and even joked about how they didn’t care about how MTV wanted them to progress their relationship. As such, it seems like they’re on pretty good terms right now, although it’s clearly still not safe from Amy Luciani’s jabs.

Bambi & Amy Luciani’s Near-Fight On L&HH: Atlanta

Regardless, this follows a lot of animosity in the past, such as Lil Scrappy accusing Bambi of not really treating him seriously as a partner when it comes to her fidelity and consideration. “What I’m not finna do though is let a motherf***er make me an option,” he ranted on Instagram Live. “I did that when I was married, I did that before I was married, I did that even after I was married for a little bit until I went crazy. I really went crazy and lost my mind. But I’m learning that I already know what I want.

“I want somebody that’s gonna take accountability,” Lil Scrappy said about the Bambi situation. “That’s knowledgeable about life, God… With or without kids already.” We’ll see whether or not Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta‘s new season contains any more fiery reflections on this story, and who will nearly throw hands next.

TI Arrested By Mistake At Atlanta Airport: Report

TI just got a pretty rough reminder that his name is a pretty common one, as authorities reportedly arrested him by mistake at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport on Sunday night (August 4), according to TMZ. Specifically, it seems like law enforcement responded to an active warrant from Baltimore, Maryland for a man named Clifford Harris, which is coincidentally the rapper’s real name. This other Harris is reportedly wanted for allegedly being involved in violence against a woman, stalking, and potential firearm possession. Authorities moved the Atlanta trap pioneer from the airport to Clayton County jail and the out-of-state warrant caused an automatic extradition hearing.

Steve Sadow, T.I.’s attorney, reportedly told TMZ that he spoke with Clayton County’s Sheriff’s Office over the phone and got his client out of prison less than two hours after the arrest, and a judge looked over and dismissed the extradition order. This complaint is from June 13, and as of writing this article, it seems like the other Clifford Harris is still a wanted man at large. However, this isn’t the only legal issue that he faced as of late. Tip and Tiny filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit accusing them of sexual assault and battery.

As for other legal issues in Atlanta, T.I. recently gave his thoughts on how he thinks Young Thug and YSL’s RICO case will end. “He coming home,” he told The Breakfast Club during a recent interview, saying that he’s been in touch with Thugger and that they’re both feeling good about his chances. “I don’t think that the prosecution has successfully proven a case of him knowingly and willingly participating in an active street gang. I just don’t see it.”

“The witnesses they’ve called thus far [haven’t] proven what they said they would prove,” T.I. continued. “I just don’t think that the grounds of their case have been presented properly. Just ain’t seen it. Don’t worry. When he come home, we’ll get it right. Just get him here… He’ll be just fine.” Along with his comments on the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef, he has a lot of takes to dish out on the rap game, so we’ll see if he says anything about this reported arrest mishap.

Killer Mike Sticks Up For Lil Yachty In Controversial ATL Fashion Debate

Lil Yachty really set the internet on fire. The rapper made several public appearances during the last few days of July, each time making a statement that incited debate. He got pushback for defending Drake in the Kendrick Lamar battle. He was chastised for leaking a song he couldn’t get a sample cleared for. The most notable Yachty, controversy, though, stemmed from his comments about fashion. He claimed that Atlanta sets the fashion trends in hip-hop, which led to lots of criticism from rappers living in the rest of the country. One of the few rappers who seemingly agreed with Lil Boat was Killer Mike.

Killer Mike hopped on Twitter on August 1 to set the record straight. He referred to the Yachty debate as “lame,” but did provide examples of Atlanta setting trends. He pointed to his Dungeon family mentor, Big Boi, in particular. “I have Zero Interest in this lame ass debate,” he wrote. “BUT Big Boi Started the Throw Back Jersey Trend with that cold a*s Houston Astros Jersey.” He then noted that Ye, despite his Chitown roots, gave proper credit to the Outkast rapper. Ye’s impact on hip-hop fashion goes without saying, but Killer Mike said it regardless. “Kanye (Atlanta Born) set the record straight on that, God Bless Him,” he wrote. “Honorable Mention the ‘Flip Flop’s and Sox’ look was Some sh*t from the Dungeon Family.”

Killer Mike Claims ATL Has Influenced All Pop Culture

Mike included a photo of Big Boi rocking the aforementioned Astros jersey as proof. A Twitter user went the opposite direction and claimed that Phife Dog actually started the throwback jersey trend. Killer Mike respectfully disagreed. “[Phife] was a sports fan and inspired us all,” he wrote back. “With that said, the Throw back Era is Something Big Boi who is also like us a Tribe Fan Started in 98 with that Black Ice Vid Houston Jersey. Long Live Tribe and Kast.” The rapper continued to go back and forth with fans about the specificity of throwbacks, and the relevance of sports merchandise within the genre.

Killer Mike and Lil Yachty are about as far apart as artists can be. That said, the former has also repped Atlanta in his music and art. During a 2023 appearance on the Hip-Hop Made podcast, Mike claimed that the ATL has influenced every element of popular culture for decades. “When they say Atlanta influences everything it’s true,” he declared. “If you’re talking about Black culture in America, you talking about ATL, Georgia, and I’m not just talking about the last 25 years… I don’t think you can talk any Black culture — Rock n’ Roll, Blues, and Gospel — without talking about Atlanta.” Yachty may have ditched the internet due to the East Coast backlash, but he’d be pleased to know Killer Mike is in his corner.

Kamala Harris Destroys Donald Trump By Quoting Quavo During Atlanta Rally

Kamala Harris’ campaign traveled to Atlanta on July 30. The presidential candidate has already been endorsed by dozens of notable celebrities. She took full advantage of these endorsements during the rally. She not only called upon Megan Thee Stallion to perform during the event, but she had Atlanta native Quavo speak on her behalf. The Migos superstar praised Kamala Harris’ policies, especially with regards to gun control. Harris returned the favor by using an iconic Migos song to diss her opponent.

Harris hyped up the Atlanta crowd by taking aim at Republican nominee Donald Trump. When discussing the ways in which Trump has failed the American people, the Democratic nominee pointed to a line from Migos’ “Walk It Talk It” single from 2018. “As my friend Quavo would say,” Harris asserted. “He does not walk it like he talks it.” The reference elicit cheers of support throughout the crowd, and nicely set up the speech that Quavo would eventually give. The rapper’s appearance was not announced before the rally. Given the impact the rapper has had on ATL culture, though, the co-sign makes complete sense.

Kamala Harris Previously Spoke At Quavo’s Atlanta Summit

Quavo’s speech was brief but impactful, detailing into the importance of gun control as it pertains to saving lives. “You can’t understand the struggle of gun violence if you not in the field or in the heart of it,” the rapper asserted. “One thing I learned from working with Vice President Harris is she always stand on business.” Quavo also alluded to a previous meeting he had with Harris regarding gun control. “It’s only right in the birthplace of the culture is also the same place to launch the first African-American woman to run for president,” he concluded.

Quavo’s passion for gun control is forged in loss. The rapper’s nephew, Takeoff, was shot and killed on November 1, 2022. Both men rose to fame as part of Migos, and Quavo admitted that Takeoff’s death urged him to take a stand. “I feel like your calling comes at the least expected times,” he told Associated Press. “I have to do something about it, so it won’t happen to the masses — especially in our culture. The relationship between Quavo and Harris has benefited both parties. The rapper is providing credibility for Harris among Atlanta voters, and the politician is helping to bolster a cause that Quavo is understandably passionate about. In June, Harris participated in Quavo’s inaugural Rocket Foundation Summit.

Megan Thee Stallion Will Perform At Kamala Harris’ Campaign Rally In Atlanta

Megan Thee Stallion is one of the biggest rappers in the world. She landed numerous hits, and managed to survive a lengthy and controversial court case with her career intact. She’s having her best year yet in terms of sales and touring, and now she’s playing it forward. Megan Thee Stallion has confirmed that she will be performing at Kamala Harris’ campaign rally on July 30. The rally will take place in Atlanta, and see the rapper throw her support behind the new Democratic nominee.

Megan Thee Stallion confirmed the collaboration on Instagram. She posted artwork of the campaign rally with both her name and Harris’ emblazoned over the top. The event will take place at 7:30 PM ET, but the specific location has not yet been revealed. Those who have been keeping up with Megan Thee Stallion’s politics, however, will not be surprised by her decision to support Harris. The two celebrities have voiced support for one another in the past. Megan wrote an op-ed about violence for the New York Times in 2020, and Kamala Harris praised her on social media.

Kamala Harris Praised Megan Thee Stallion Back In 2020

“Thank you, @theestallion, for using your voice to speak out,” Harris tweeted. “Black women DO deserve better… We’ll continue to show up not just with lip service, but with action.” More recently, Harris and the Houston rapper linked up at a 2023 event in Washington, D.C. The event was a discussion for “economic empowerment of women,” and Megan Thee Stallion even posted a picture of her and VP Harris on social media. The rapper does not discuss politics in her music, but she has repeatedly urged her fans to go out and vote.

After Harris praised Megan on Twitter in 2020, the rapper retweeted Harris and reminded her followers to provide support. She also posted a video reminding fans to vote on Instagram, which received 1.2 million views. The rapper simultaneously provided a link to the site More Than A Vote, which is an online group of Black athletes and celebrities dedicated to fighting voter suppression. It’s impossible to say how much of an impact Megan had on the outcome of the election, of course, but it surely didn’t hurt. She’s poised to do even more for Kamala Harris during current election cycle.

Chad Dillon, Co-Owner Of Lil Baby’s Seafood Restaurant, Dies After Atlanta Shooting

Last year, Lil Baby opened a new seafood restaurant in his hometown of Atlanta, The Seafood Menu Restaurant and Takeout. He worked alongside entrepreneur Chad Dillon, who also owned another local seafood restaurant called The Boiler Room as well as a nearby ice cream shop. Sadly, however, it was reported today that Dillon has passed away. Reportedly, the 33-year-old was driving around the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood yesterday (July 23) when he was shot multiple times. He later died of his injuries.

As fans and loved ones look back on Dillon’s life and leave heartfelt messages, many are reflecting on all that he accomplished. In just one year of being open, The Boiler Room reportedly sold over 180K pounds of seafood, grossing over $8 million in sales. “I am a thinker and innovator, so even without a culinary background, I enjoy finding voids in the business market and creating solutions; creating restaurant concepts from ideation to execution, coming up with new menu items, and creating amazing customer experiences. I’m also very hands-on,” Dillon told TravelNoire in 2022.

Dillon also started a foundation aimed to help incarcerated individuals start businesses upon their release. “I feel that this group is often overlooked,” he told Alyse Eady of Good Day Atlanta at the time. “Especially when it comes to employment opportunities; it’s really hard for them to get jobs.” What do you think of Chad Dillon, co-owner of Lil Baby’s The Seafood Menu Restaurant, passing away after a shooting in Atlanta? Irv Gotti Sued for Alleged Sexual Assaults in Miami, Atlanta, and More

Irv Gotti Says Fat Joe is No Longer His Brother Due to Defense of Ashanti

Irv Gotti is the subject of a new sexual assault lawsuit. According to the Miami New Times, Gotti is being sued by a Jane Doe for sexually assaulting and abusing her between 2020 and 2022 in Saint Martin, Miami, and Atlanta.

“As a result of this sexually abusive relationship, Plaintiff has suffered severe emotional and psychological harm for which she had to be committed to a psychiatric ward,” the lawsuit reads. “These injuries continue and affect Plaintiff to this day.”

The lawsuit wants a trial by jury.

The court docs state the woman met Gotti at a summer 2020 poker tournament, leading to a Saint Martin vacation. He allegedly coerced her into sex, but a relationship followed the trip. During the two-year relationship, the woman stated she had suffered “constant abuse.” She was forced into unwanted sexual acts, including being forced to perform oral sex in the elevator of the Four Seasons in Miami. Another occasion included the forcing of real sex in an Uber in Atlanta, leading to the end of the relationship.

Gotti allegedly slandered the woman throughout the industry, and the woman eventually was a resident of a psychiatric ward. You can see all the court documents here.

Rich Homie Quan & 2 Chainz Reunite On “Ah’Chi”

Despite a tumultuous few years in his career, Rich Homie Quan has been on a consistent streak as of late, one that may have flown on the radar. Nonetheless, he’s continued to dish out banger after banger after leaving the major label system. The Atlanta MC came back this week with the release of a new single titled, “Ah’Chi” alongside 2 Chainz. The icy banger boasts production from 2Tall, who leans into the guitar-laden production that sounds inspired by the early 2020s outings by YSL. And even Rich Homie Quan’s melodic inflections feels like something out of Gunna’s playbook.

“Ah’Chi” pays homage to their Atlanta roots, as the cover art suggests. The title itself is a reference to local slang that means to “overexaggerate.” In a way, that kind of embodies some of the bars they dish out and the hyperbolic wordplay (“I knock the whole buildin’ down, b*tch/ Walk out that hoe, I had no debris”). For 2 Chainz, the verse serves as an ode to the trap boy chic that carried his early career as he reflects on maneuvering through the streets to get paid and eventually, becoming a boss on his own.

Before “Ah’Chi,” he dropped off “Authentic.” Meanwhile, 2 Chainz has been rather lowkey over the past few months following the release of Welcome 2 Collegrove with Lil Wayne. Check out their new collaboration above.
