Tyler Perry Reflects On “Diary Of A Mad Black Woman”

Tyler Perry recently reflected on his debut feature film, Diary of a Mad Black Woman, which released back in 2005. In a post on his Instagram page, over the weekend, Perry thanked fans for their support. The film follows a woman as she’s kicked out of her house by her husband on their 18th wedding anniversary and is forced to move in with her grandmother. It stars Kimberly Elise, Steve Harris, Shemar Moore, Cicely Tyson, Tyler Perry, and more. It’s also the first time Perry’s iconic character, Madea, made an appearance on the big screen. Despite critics panning the movie, Diary of a Mad Black Woman was a box office success, grossing $50.7 million worldwide against a $5.5 million budget.

“They said I wouldn’t make it, they said I was a flash in the pan! But what they didn’t know is GOD GAVE ME YOU!” Perry captioned a trailer for the film. “Your support has meant everything. Thank you so much for holding me up. 18 years ago today my first movie Diary of a Mad Black Woman opened at number one, and we’re still groaning and going. If God be for you, who can stand against you!”

As for Perry’s upcoming work, he recently announced that Kelly Rowland And Trevante Rhodes will star in his next Netflix film, “Mea Culpa.” It will mark Perry’s fifth feature film made in partnership with the streaming platform. “Get ready for a crazy sexy thriller!!” Perry captioned a screenshot of an article reporting the news on Instagram. In addition to Rowland and Rhodes, RonReaco Lee, Nick Sagar, and Sean Sagar round out the cast. The story will follow a criminal defense attorney who, in the hopes of becoming a partner at their prestigious law firm, accepts a case from an artist who possibly murdered his girlfriend.

Perry’s previous films with Netflix include Six Triple Eight, which is still finishing up production, A Fall From Grace, A Madea Homecoming, and A Jazzman’s Blues. He also acted in 2021’s Don’t Look Up as Jack Bremmer. Perry and Rowland have worked together numerous times over the years including on Think Like A Man, Bad Hair, and The Curse of Bridge Hollow.

Jake Paul Takes To Twitter Following Loss To Tommy Fury

Jake Paul was very confident going into his fight against Tommy Fury. Overall, Paul was convinced he would come through with a knockout in the fourth round. However, that is not how it went down. Instead, Fury won the match via split decision. It was a close fight, although it is clear that Fury won more rounds in a convincing fashion. Despite Paul’s ability to knockdown Fury in the eighth round, it wasn’t enough to ultimately get the victory. For Paul, this is the first loss of his career.

As for Tommy Fury, he will be looked at as just a bit more legitimate. He defeated someone he had evaded on two separate occasions, and now, he can seek out more seasoned fighters. When it comes to Jake Paul, no one knows what he will do next. It is clear that he still needs a ton of work before he can even think about legitimate title fights. However, he is still a young guy and there is plenty of time for him to work on his craft. As he made it clear on Twitter, he plans to come back with a vengeance.

Hard work, hard work, hard work.” This is certainly a great message to convey. Moreover, it shows that Paul is being modest in defeat. There were fears he would take his first loss poorly, but that has not been the case.

Moving forward, it will be interesting to see how things go for Paul. He could definitely get in the ring with someone like KSI, who has been jonesing for a fight against Paul. It’s a common occurrence to run into celebrities from all walks of life throughout New York City. This is something one social media user, Queen Nurys, knows all too well. Judging by her viral posts, the woman seeks out well-known names as she treks through the city for photo ops. Most even seem to welcome Nurys with open arms as she records their public encounters. Her recent chance meeting with Wendy Williams, however, didn’t go exactly as she’d planned it to.

In one of Nurys’ latest TikTok clips, Wendy Williams can be seen exiting her SUV in the bustling city. Though the 58-year-old was recently quoted saying she has “the mind and body of a 25-year-old,” this didn’t stop her from demanding assistance getting onto the sidewalk. “I’m going,” the controversial TV host announces, proceeding to point to the ground. “Somebody help me.” While it’s not clear if anyone came to her aide at first, Queen Nury goes on to show her own attempt moments later. The woman extends her phone-less hand to the former radio personality, to which she responds with an icy “Oh no.”

”I tried to help her but she had a nasty attitude like wtf,” Nurys wrote into the clip. The run-in, which has since amassed over 1.7 million views, saw a legion of fans coming to Wendy Williams’ defense. Many made a point that Queen Nury’s gesture seemed insincere, following her trend of finding stars for likes. “The gaslighting is real,” one user began. “Imagine being in a vulnerable state, needing help but the only person with a hand out is ready to tell the world they did a good deed.” Nurys says she was simply a fan of The Wendy Williams Show and was going to ask her for a selfie.

Regardless if the gesture was genuine or not, it was a clear response to Williams’ ongoing health battles. The longtime tea-spiller was documented leaving a rehab facility in October 2022 following her show’s end. Though Wendy Williams struggles with Graves’ Disease, she confirms she’s feeling “better than ever.” Her and publicist Shawn Zanotti have also confirmed future projects in the works, including an upcoming podcast.

Kyrie Irving’s Rumored Plans For The Offseason Revealed

Kyrie Irving is one of the best point guards in the entire NBA. Although some people don’t find his antics to be worth it, there is no doubt that a lot of teams could use him. The Dallas Mavericks certainly thought so as they traded for the former Nets star. Overall, Kyrie has only played a handful of games with the Mavericks, leading to a record of 2-3. He and Luka Doncic have a lot of work to do, although they could certainly cause some damage in the postseason.

This is a very interesting experiment for the Dallas Mavericks. Kyrie is going to be a free agent in the summer, which means he can go anywhere he wants. Overall, this means that Irving could simply be a rental for the Mavericks. Aside from Luka, who they drafted, the team has not been good at attracting other superstars. That being said, there has been speculation that Irving would walk for a team like the Lakers. However, according to Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus, it seems like executives around the league believe Kyrie will stay put.

“Kyrie will be on his best behavior until he gets paid; after is a different story,” one higher-up said. “Unless he and Luka actively despise each other, I don’t see Dallas letting him go.” This was subsequently followed by the words of another executive who is thinking the exact same way. “Kyrie’s goal in pushing out of Brooklyn was to get his rights with a team willing to pay him,” they explained. “Dallas is where he’ll want to be.”

This is definitely an interesting scenario. It seemed like Kyrie and the Lakers were a sure thing. Now, however, Irving could experience some stability in Dallas. That said, it is hard to imagine him and Luka co-existing for more than just a postseason. Only time will tell whether or not we are wrong. Dame Dash Reads Children’s Book At Va. Elementary School

Dame Dash’s new children’s book was well received by a group of elementary school kids in Virginia who were lucky enough to witness the former Roc-A-Fella read the book that was inspired by the couple’s son.

On Friday(February 24), Dash and fiancée Raquel M. Horn popped up at Carver Elementary School in Richmond, Virginia, where the couple read Dusko Goes To Space, released by Damon Dash Studios in May 2022.

Richmond CBS affiliate WTVR said that Dash and Horn spoke to the kindergarten, first and second graders, giving them more encouragement and confidence to read using topics that they’re already familiar with and enjoy.

“If a kid loves video games, when teaching use video games,” Dash explained. “For a kid who loves space, we will teach him in space. He loves music, he loves acting, whatever it is, you know, we’re gonna teach them in their language.”

Dusko Goes To Space follows a little boy as he turns a cardboard box into a spaceship and heads on an educational adventure with his French bulldog, Governor. The main character is named after Damon Dash and Raquel M. Horn’s two year old son.

Jake Paul Confronted The ‘Drake Curse’ Possibly Causing His Tommy Fury Loss: ‘F*ck, This Is Drake’s Fault!’

This weekend, Jake Paul was in Saudi Arabia for his boxing match against Tommy Fury, a fight that Paul ended up losing in a split decision. However, there might be an asterisk on Paul’s first professional boxing L: Drake bet $400K on Paul to win, and as we know, the “Drake Curse” (the apparent tendency for teams and athletes to lose after Drake publicly supports them) is real. After the fight, Paul himself addressed this.

In a post-fight press conference, a reporter mentioned Drake’s bet and ask if Paul thinks the “curse” impacted him. He laughed and said, “F*ck, This is Drake’s fault! Drake, bro! Why you do this to me?!”

He continued, “Nah, it’s my fault, but $400,000 is nothing to him, so… he’s won a lot of money betting on me before, so he’s probably about even now. Sorry, Drake. I’ma get that W in the rematch.”

Drake’s $400K bet was for Paul to win the fight by knockout. As TMZ notes, had that happened, Drake would have found himself about $1.4 million richer. Apparently, though, that wasn’t part of God’s plan. Drake performed better with his Super Bowl gambling, though, taking home $1.4 million after placing around $1 million in bets.

As DailyMail reports, the news comes after the blonde beauty was seen wearing a huge diamond ring, once again, at her concert earlier this weekend. It seems to be the same one from last year’s BRITs, though we’re still waiting for confirmation from the lovers themselves.
