LaVar Ball is never afraid to give his unfiltered opinions on anything or anyone. Ever since his sons, LaMelo, Lonzo and LiAngelo were all over hoop mixtapes, the Big Ball Brand founder became a star in his own right. His personality is definitely not everyone’s cup of tea, but you have to respect how he has set up his sons for success. That is especially true for LaMelo and Lonzo, as both are valuable assets for their respective NBA franchises. However, they have not always been available due to recurring and long-lasting health complications. In fact, that is part of the reason why LaVar Ball feels that LaMelo and Zo keep piling up injuries.

The proud father of three recently sat down with CBS columnist Bill Reiter just days following the announcement from ESPN and the Hornets that LaMelo was done for the rest of the season. According to the Score, LaVar was not shy in calling out the “rooty-toot workouts” that the training staff puts together, as well as the “raggedy shoes” both of his sons wear. Mr. Ball explained that people feel he works his boys too hard when they train and that is why they keep accruing injuries. But he pushed back on that vehemently.

“If you keep running them hills, you’re going to keep that power and that strength. But you start dealing with these rubber bands and doing this lightweight stuff, of course you’re going to start breaking down.” Later on, he also put some blame on the PUMA shoes that LaMelo sports every game. “A lot of things have to do with them raggedy shoes that Melo be wearing. Them shoes are not made the right way for him. That’s why he keeps tweaking his ankle every single time,” LaVar said. LaMelo Ball only played 58 games over the past two seasons, whereas Lonzo has not touched the NBA hardwood for about two years.

The topic that is breaking the internet this time involves his signature Stephen’s A-List segment where the list is always “fluid.” JJ Redick and Shannon Sharpe were in on it as well as the trio dissected his top five NBA players that deserve to be immortalized outside of their respective arenas. Stephen A. made the statement that Golden State Warriors Klay Thompson and Draymond Green need statues when they eventually retire.

This debate was sparked due to Kendrick Perkins comments during the halftime show for the Lakers versus Nuggets game. That would be the night in which LeBron James reached 40,000 points. JJ and Sharpe would go on to disagree with the list, saying players like Kawhi Leonard, Nikola Jokic, and Kevin Durant deserved to be on the list instead. However, Twitter is a tizzy more so due to the fact that Stephen A. said Klay and Draymond deserve statues, the two Warriors that helped Steph Curry win four rings.

LaMelo Ball Gifts Adonis A Signed Jersey, Fans Have Mixed Reactions

Drake’s ties to the NBA and the sports world in general is very strong. The players adore him, and he loves to attend the biggest games. He was there for the incredible and improbable 2019 championship run his hometown Raptors went on. Drizzy’s passion for basketball is so strong that he is getting his son Adonis into it. They have been courtside together and he is even getting involved in playing as much as possible. Over the past couple of years, Adonis has taken a liking to certain players in the NBA, and one of them is LaMelo Ball.

According to Bleacher Report, Drake’s son drew a picture of the Charlotte Hornets star point guard. LaMelo saw it and he wound up gifting him a pair of his signature PUMA basketball kicks. The reaction can be found below and it is straight up adorable seeing Adonis so excited. With that connection being forged since last year, the two finally got to meet each other in person this past weekend.

The Hornets had to travel to Toronto last night, so it was the perfect opportunity. Adonis and a friend of his got to meet LaMelo in the locker room and the injured franchise player had a special gift for him. It was a signed jersey with a message written on the back. It said, “Go be great gang!! 1 of 1 rare not from here.” Unfortunately, Ball did not have a special surprise for Adonis’ buddy and that left some fans feeling a little disappointed. ESPN has removed the 19 year-old from the 2024 mock draft and is now slated to be selected in 2025. The Los Angeles Laker has been hyping up his oldest kid, but things just have not panned out yet. However, Lebron saw Bronny’s mock draft tweet and his reaction is causing a stir on the platform.

It appears his fiery message has been deleted, but DJ Akademiks was able to snag a screenshot of it. “Can y’all please just let the kid be a kid and enjoy college basketball. The work and results will ultimately do the talking no matter what he decides to do.” LeBron continues, “If y’all don’t know he doesn’t care what a mock draft says, he just WORKS! Earned Not Given!”

On Sunday night, AD seemed to be relaxing ahead of his game against the Charlotte Hornets tonight. He was watching Kai Cenat, and some fans noticed that he gifted subs to those in the chat. However, LeBron fans began roasting AD for his choice of entertainment.

This is a guest list that included Jay-Z, Beyonce, Anthony Davis, and even Green. There was even a theme to the event and in some photos obtained by the outlet, Green and others had on some flashy attire.

The timing of this is interesting as Green was suspended indefinitely by the NBA recently. This all took place after he swung his arm and hit Jusuf Nurkic in the face. Now, Green has to go through counseling and he can only return once he goes through a few steps. Whether or not that return will happen soon, remains to be seen.

Ja Morant might have cost his team a chance of making some actual noise in the postseason. Of course, it is due to his 25-game suspension he was handed down for multiple gun-flashing incidents on social media. Without him, they have severely struggled. Until last night, the Memphis Grizzlies were 6-19, good enough for 13th in the Western Conference. If they want a shot to make some sort of postseason play, they certainly have their work cut out for them. If they want to shoot for the 10th seed, the last Play-In spot, Memphis needs to get past Phoenix, and maybe Golden State.

Right now, Ja’s team is 6.5 games out of that spot, even after the Murray State product’s heroics. He made his return to the hardwood last night on the road against the New Orleans Pelicans. It was a sold-out crowd and they certainly got their money’s worth. It went down to the wire and with the game tied, Ja had the ball in his hands. He got into the lane and had the perfect touch on a floater. It bounced off the rim and dropped to seal the deal.

But it was not just the game-winner that was impressive. Ja went off for 34 points, six rebounds, and eight assists.
