Former Motown CEO Says She Will Not Testify Against Diddy

The ongoing saga of Diddy’s sexual misconduct and sex trafficking allegations has taken some unexpected twists and turns, with several notables being named in the lawsuit filed by Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones. The suit includes claims against a major label executive who vehemently denies any allegations and contends that there is nothing she could take the stand and say to testify against Mr. Sean Combs.

Former Motown Records chief executive officer Ethiopia Habtemariam was named in Jones’ lawsuit as a willing participant in a drug- and sex-trafficking ring for the mogul’s alleged “RICO enterprise.” Habtemariam was specifically accused of being aware that alcoholic beverages served at his parties were laced with illegal substances. She denied all allegations made against her and with Jones’ attorney eventually dropping her from the suit, Habtemariam wants the world to know that under no circumstances will she be taking the stand against Diddy.

The 44-year-old exec made a statement yesterday(April 1) via AllHipHop, stating, “I am informed and believe that Mr. Blackburn has falsely represented to various social media sites and other media outlets that I agreed to ‘testify against’ Mr. Combs,” she shared. “This is completely untrue. I have no personal knowledge of any alleged wrongdoing by Mr. Combs and there is nothing I could testify to that would be against his interest.” She added, “Being falsely accused of criminal conduct is deeply upsetting to me. I did no wrong. I never saw or participated in any alleged racketeering enterprise, and I never saw, aided or, abetted, or tried to conceal any sex trafficking activity. In short, there is no basis for any of the claims asserted against me, and I should never have been named a defendant in this lawsuit.”

According to a preface in the court documents of Lil Rod’s case, the lawsuit contains “highly graphic information of a sexual nature, including sexual assault. Additionally, there are graphic images of the aftermath of a shooting, redacted images of sexual intercourse, redacted images of minors, sex workers, and prostitutes, details of sex trafficking, the illegal distribution of guns, and drugs.”

Diddy’s lawyer denied all claims in the suit in a statement to HipHopDX, saying, “Lil Rod is nothing more than a liar who filed a $30million lawsuit shamelessly looking for an undeserved payday. His reckless name-dropping about events that are pure fiction and simply did not happen is nothing more than a transparent attempt to garner headlines.” The statement goes on saying, “We have overwhelming, indisputable proof that his claims are complete lies. Our attempts to share this proof with [Lil Rod]’s attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, have been ignored, as Mr. Blackburn refuses to return our calls.”

NBA Youngboy Drops New Single “Next”

NBA Youngboy is undoubtedly taking things to new heights this year following an incredible run in 2022. There’s no doubt that YB is one of the biggest rappers right now, ascending to the top through an organic buzz. The influx of music he’s dropped through YouTube turned him into one of the biggest artists on the platform while amassing millions of fans worldwide and transforming into a generational talent with an indelible imprint on the rap game.

The rapper released roughly eight projects altogether in 2022 with the majority of these efforts arriving in the latter half of the year. Projects like The Last Slimeto and Ma’ I Got A Family helped close out his deal with Atlantic Records before beginning a new chapter of his career with Motown Records. He already blessed fans with I Rest My Case earlier this year, which found him diving into the Playboi Carti-esque lane a bit deeper. However, with a new project on the way, the rapper has fans anticipating his next move.

NBA Youngboy – “Next”

With Don’t Try This At Home expected to drop in the near future, NBA Youngboy sets the tone with the release of his latest single, “Next.” The rapper returns with an exhilarating banger that finds him pushing back at his competition and flaunting his wealth. However, it also showcases his growth, from producing street-centric bangers to trying to appeal to a much wider audience than before. It’s a party anthem that provides us with a bit of insight into what we should expect from him on Don’t Try This At Home

NBA Youngboy shared details about his forthcoming album during his recent interview with Rap Radar. Following the launch of his “Stop The Violence” campaign, he explained that he was going to really talk his sh*t on his upcoming effort. However, he doesn’t want his fans to try and mimic his actions. ““I’mma be talking crazy on there,” he said of the project. “I’mma show you Murda Man… but I’m lettin’ you know, though: Don’t try this at home.”

Quotable Lyrics
I make all these bitches come and take it off, boss shit
Got that bitch doin’ right, buy that bitch a outfit
I ain’t have red on the first night, told the bitch blue this shit
I want head on the first night, I can make her mouth fit

NBA Youngboy Announces New Album “I Rest My Case”

If there’s one rapper who undoubtedly had a grip on 2022, it was NBA Youngboy. Despite laying low for a large portion of the year, he came back stronger than ever with The Last Slimeto. The project contained upwards of 30 tracks but even still, he had even more heat in the stash to unleash in the months that followed.

NBA Youngboy closed out an incredibly productive year with Lost Files on December 23rd. The album arrived with little warning or promotion but still managed to move 18K in its first week.

However, it seems like NBA Youngboy’s 2022 run was solely a set-up for big things ahead in the new year. This weekend, the rapper revealed that he has another body of work on the way this week. On Friday (Jan. 6th), he’ll unveil his next album titled, I Rest My Case with the cover art coming via Akademiks.

There’s no information on what to expect but it appears that NBA Youngboy will be relentlessly dishing out new music throughout the year. In October, the rapper announced that he fulfilled his deal with Atlantic Records, to who he has been signed with since 2017. Apparently, the release of The Last Slimeto concluded his contractual obligations to Atlantic.

Since then, NBA Youngboy inked a deal with Motown Records — a subsidiary of Universal Music Group. It will be exciting to what this next chapter of his career will look like, though he’s no stranger to the label, either. He previously inked a deal with Motown for the Never Broke Again imprint including artists like NoCap and Quando Rondo.

It appears that I Rest My Case will be the first project to drop through his deal with Motown Records.

Are you excited to hear more music from NBA Youngboy this year? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
