Taylor Swift was easily one of the biggest stars at the Grammys last night. Overall, it was a big night for her as she was nominated for a plethora of awards. In fact, one award that she was up for was Album of the Year. Her project Midnights was filled with hits and while not everyone is a fan, it certainly made its mark. In the end, the album proved to be a winner as Celine Dion came out and presented Swift with her fourth AOTY award. It was a huge moment, especially considering Dion’s recent struggles.

For those who may not know, the Quebecois legend has stiff-person syndrome. This is a terrible disease that can effect a person’s motor function. There were reports that Dion was having some real trouble with moving around. Consequently, many were surprised to see her at the Grammys. After the show, Swift got to take a picture with Dion and it was all very heartwarming. Unfortunately, it was Swift’s reaction to winning Album of the Year that had the internet coming after her.

Celine Dion Back On Stage

In the clip above, Swift took the Grammy and didn’t really acknowledge Celine’s presence. Nor did she mention the artist in her speech. This subsequently led to all sorts of tweets dissing T-Swift, and some of them can be found below. There was lots of talk about how Swift was “disrespectful” to a legend. However, some of her fans were quick to point out that she was just overwhelmed in the moment. Additionally, the photo she took with Celine afterward just showcases that she does, in fact, acknowledge the legendary singer.

Killer Mike’s incredible Grammys run this year, resulting in a clean three-for-three sweep in rap categories for album, song, and performance, was undercut almost immediately by a scandalous incident. Authorities arrested him shortly after, reportedly for a misdemeanor involving a scuffle with a security guard, and many expressed outrage online. Not only should the MICHAEL star have celebrated his accomplishments in peace, but this caused discussions around the perception and treatment of Black celebrities no matter their status. Regardless, he recently called into The Big Tigger Show on Monday morning (February 5) to speak of the previous night’s awards ceremony, and he had a minimal comment on the controversy.

“We hit a speed bump, and then we head back to the party,” Killer Mike remarked. Of course, many fans think that he probably has more to say on the matter, but for whatever reason, might save it for another time. Also, there’s the possibility that the Atlanta lyricist plans on taking legal action or pursuing this more formally, so he might want to stay tight-lipped on the situation. Regardless of all that, the most heartening thing is to hear him be so happy, grateful, and proud concerning the Grammy wins and the strength of his craft.

Killer Mike Speaks On “Speed Bump” Arrest After His 2024 Grammys Wins: Listen

“Three Grammys. 20 years in the game. 48 years old,” Killer Mike expressed regarding his big wins. “Beat out everybody in the thing. He beat the best of the best, so all you could say is, he one of the best. Childish Gambino is reveling in more success as of late for his Prime Video television series Mr. & Mrs. Smith. If that title sounds familiar, it is because it is. Gambino and female co-star Maya Erskine rebooted the classic comedy/action film of the same name that starred previous real-life fling, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Critics, especially on Rotten Tomatoes are enjoying Childish Gambino’s (Donald Glover’s) take on the early 2000s production. Whenever a new show or movie is out, media companies are always going to ask the main actors to do interviews and Q&A’s.

The leads sat down to ask each other some questions hosted by Buzzfeed, according to HipHopDX. One juicy inquiry that came up during Childish Gambino and Erskine’s chat was, “What is a rumor that you hate that is out that you wanna disprove right now?” The multi-talent answered vaguely, “There was a rumor I got friend-zoned by someone once. But I didn’t get friend-zoned by them. I got other zoned.” Gambino refused to reveal who the mystery woman was.

Anthony Davis is someone who is constantly facing the wrath of Los Angeles Lakers fans. Overall, this is because he is injured a lot of the time. Furthermore, there are people out there who believe he hasn’t been worthy of his contract. His performances are a bit inconsistent, and the Lakers have not been what fans would have hoped. Sure, AD has helped the team get an NBA title and even an in-season tournament win. However, there are still plenty of ungrateful stans out there, ready to denigrate his every move.

For instance, in a win against the New York Knicks the other night, AD only had 12 points. Although he was superb defensively, fans got after him for his performance. On Sunday night, AD seemed to be relaxing ahead of his game against the Charlotte Hornets tonight. He was watching Kai Cenat, and some fans noticed that he gifted subs to those in the chat. However, LeBron fans began roasting AD for his choice of entertainment.

Ice Spice met Beyonce at the 2024 Grammy Awards on Sunday night at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. In a video circulating on social media, the rapper can be seen approaching Beyonce at the ceremony. When The Neighborhood Talk shared the clip on Instagram, fans had mixed reactions.

Some complained about Ice Spice bothering the legendary singer. “Muni Long spoke on how everyone be bombarding Beyoncé at these shows. This exhibit A,” one user wrote. Another added: “Nah I feel embarrassed for ice cause it looked like b said excuse me let me greet this other girl.” Others defended the rising artist: “All the people hating on Ice saying she a fan but ain’t even in the same room as Beyoncé is wild let that girl live her best life.”

At the event, Beyonce’s husband, JAY-Z, took home the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. During his acceptance speech, he complained about the Recording Academy never recognizing Beyonce for Album of the Year. “I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won Album of the Year,” he said. “So even by your own metrics, that doesn’t work. Think about that. The most Grammys; never won Album of the Year. That doesn’t work.”

Last year, Hit-Boy and The Alchemist teamed up for “Slipping Into Darkness,” a song that saw the two rhyming over the other’s production. Both California producers sounded comfortable, highlighting their underrated skills as lyricists. Since the turn of the decade, Hit-Boy and The Alchemist reached new levels in their careers by releasing prolific full-length collaborations at a high volume. Hit-Boy has worked closely with Nas, Big Sean, Dom Kennedy, The Game, and his father, Big Hit. The Alchemist teamed up with Boldy James, Freddie Gibbs, Armand Hammer, Curren$y, Roc Marciano, and Earl Sweatshirt for stellar collaborations. 

Most recently, Hit-Boy and The Alchemist teamed up to produce the entirety of Benny The Butcher’s latest album, Everybody Can’t Go. Known for being skilled beat-makers and collaborators, their lyrical skills should not go unnoticed. Hit-Boy and The Alchemist’s latest 3-song EP, Theodore & Andre, makes sure of that. Their bars are at the center of attention while blending their production styles.

Hit-Boy & The Alchemist Blend Production Styles

On Theodore & Andre, Hit-Boy and The Alchemist expand their chemistry as they rhyme over each other’s production together. This time, there’s a clear-cut intention to create memorable records that build off of a combined sound rather than flexing their lyrical muscle. Hit-Boy’s contemporary soul blends seamlessly with The Alchemist’s vintage loops. The EP’s opening track, “Morrissey” is quintessential Alchemist with its cinematic sample chop and downbeat boom bap. Next, Hit-Boy showcases the versatility of his production, handling the beats on the EP’s other two songs. 

“The Main Event” starts as an upbeat trap banger. Hit-Boy raps before transitioning into a traditional drum break over which Alchemist rhymes. The two rapped over distinct beats on “Slipping Into Darkness,” but here, they rhyme over one melody that varies in percussion. The beat switch gives them each their own moment to shine whereas they shine together on the closing track. The Hit-Boy-produced beat on “Don’t Be Gone” is reminiscent of something one might hear on the King’s Disease trilogy. In this song, Hit-Boy and Alchemist rap over a beat that fits both of their styles perfectly. It spotlights not just their synergy as producers, but their lyrical chemistry as well.

Don’t Sleep On Their Lyricism

While they are certainly skilled producers, both Hit-Boy and The Alchemist have shown that they’re equally stellar MCs. Theodore & Andre shows that the two excel at both skill sets and traverse between them quite easily. Hit-Boy’s flow is smooth while Alchemist’s is choppy, which is fitting for their respective styles of production. They find their own pockets, no matter the production similar to how they can cater a particular sound to an artist they’re producing for.  

The way Alchemist starts rapping on “Morrissey” makes one wish that he would spit over his beats more often. His bars are sparse as he emphasizes the end of each line. Hit-Boy then comes in at the end with a short yet smoothly executed verse. Throughout Theodore & Andre, both of them flex their lifestyles in their rhymes. The Alchemist raps about outdoing his competitors, making references to his studio and touring life with plenty of food metaphors. Hit-Boy embraces his success, attributing it to his work ethic and divine timing. Their collaborative chemistry really comes together on “Don’t Be Gone,” where they trade celebratory bars over a soulful saxophone loop. 

Overall, Theodore & Andre is a lean 3-track EP that displays the chemistry between two artists at the top of their game as rappers and producers. As such a short listen, it is enjoyable for what it is—a quick victory lap. It may not contain their best material ever, but it is something new and exciting for Hit-Boy and The Alchemist. Hopefully, this EP is just the beginning of a fruitful partnership.

Anthony Anderson Hospitalized After On-Set Action Injury

Anthony Anderson has a bone to pick with a chair now following his recent hospitalization for an on-set injury while filming the action movie G20. Moreover, he got many scans and X-rays for the accident that occurred during a particularly hectic fight scene on the Cape Town, South Africa set. “I spent the night in the emergency room,” the entertainment figure and stand-up comic captioned an Instagram post of him on a gurney on Thursday (February 1). “Movie set fight gone wrong. Me against two goons and a chair! Guess who didn’t win! Who needs a stuntman? Me that’s who! I’m not as young as I used to be!”

Fortunately, it seems like Anthony Anderson recovered quickly, as he returned to the social media platform to swear revenge on his new enemy: a chair. “This is the chair that whooped my a** last night!” the storyteller wrote alongside a picture of the furniture. “Something about it is menacing! It sucker punched me in the kidneys and back with no mercy! When I got on set today it was grinning at me! Little does he know I got something for that a**! He gone learn today!”

Anthony Anderson’s Most Recent Instagram Post Addressing Injury

“CT scan and X-rays showed nothing fractured or broken in my back just a deep contusion,” Anthony Anderson had assured in his previous gurney-bound IG post. “That chair will never be the same though! Bloodied and bowed but never broken!” As such, it’s at least heartening to hear that things went smoothly for him, as we’re sure that those injuries on an action set can be difficult to deal with. We’re sure that, slowly but surely, the Black-ish star will go back to relaying hilarious stories about co-stars and fellow celebrities like Tracee Ellis Ross as if nothing happened.

Meanwhile, that perseverance to entertain and stay happy amid all that is a true testament. It also reminded us that he has some great things on the way which we should all be excited for.
