XXXTENTACION’s Killer Laughs At Rapper’s Son After Gekyume Pays Tribute To His Late Father

When XXXTENTACION was killed, not only did he leave behind millions of fans to mourn, but the young star also said an untimely goodbye to his son. Gekyume Onfroy is now five years old, and though we don’t see much of him in the public eye, updates do surface every now and then to show us how X’s son is learning and growing without his father physically by his side. Sadly, the latest one is going viral thanks to a tactless reaction from one of the “Jocelyn Flores” artist’s killers.

The initial footage of young Onfroy is heartwarming, showing him leading another man through his house to show off photos of XXXTENTACION. “That’s my dad!” he excitedly says while showing off a framed image of the Florida native performing. “Do you wanna see another picture of my dad?” X’s song happily asks, leading the way toward another happy memory. “Have you showed me these before?” a voice behind the camera asks, suggesting Onfroy has a lot of pride in his father, even though they didn’t get to spend much time together.

YMT Boatwright Appears to Laugh at XXXTENTACION’s Son’s Pain

When YMT Boatwright, one of the men responsible for taking X’s life, got hold of the video, he couldn’t resist reposting it on Instagram. Rather than feeling remorseful for his actions, it seems like the “😂😂” emojis he wrote alongside the video suggest he feels very proud to have left the young boy without a father.

XXXTENTACION’s 2018 death feels like it happened only yesterday. Even all this time later, new information regarding the tragedy continues to come out, such as this month’s autopsy report reveal. Not everyone was happy to see the details of their favourite rapper’s death be shared with the public, though some gained closure from a more clear understanding of what happened. Read all about that at the link below, and check back in with HNHH later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Killer Mike Shares Jay-Z’s Reaction To His Grammy Wins & Arrest

Killer Mike’s now-infamous Grammys run in 2024 is fortunately a much more positive affair to look back on that what it was to witness. That has nothing to do with his incredible three-for-three sweep in his nominated categories, but rather with the fact that authorities arrested him shortly after. Since then, the Atlanta legend’s made his peace with the minor incident, and spoke to The Breakfast Club on Wednesday (February 14) about the whole ordeal. During this conversation, he revealed some interesting background about how Jay-Z reacted, whose Global Impact Award speech created a viral Grammys moment of his own.

“What’s cr*zy is Jay was hitting me,” Killer Mike told the radio program, recalling that night at the Grammys. “I didn’t realize, as I was going through my thing, Jay was hitting me like, ‘Hold on, stick around, I want to toast you.’ And then he hit me later and was like, ‘I was going to concede my time to you for the speech.’ So shout out to Hov! It’s love, though. Me and him laughed. He said, ‘You wanted to go and get locked up during the biggest moment.’ I was laughing, it was hilarious.”

Killer Mike Reveals How Jay-Z Reacted To His Grammys Journey

“It could be,” Killer Mike expressed when asked whether this arrest happened for a deeper reason and whether conspiracy theories played a part. “But look. It didn’t work against Martin [Luther King Jr.], it didn’t work against Malcolm [X], didn’t work against Mandela. Didn’t work against Method. Whatever the devil give you… God, if you stay in tune, man, he’ll multiply the good over the bad.”

“I’m thankful for the Grammys, I’m thankful for the bulls**t,” he said of his overall experience. “Bulls**t is the best fertilizer on the farm. I got a chance to sit by myself for three hours and thank God and invoke praise and be grateful for the things that I received.” Let us know what you think about all these developments and revelations in the comments section down below. Killer Mike Addresses Grammys Arrest

Killer Mike’s incredible Grammys run this year, resulting in a clean three-for-three sweep in rap categories for album, song, and performance, was undercut almost immediately by a scandalous incident. Authorities arrested him shortly after, reportedly for a misdemeanor involving a scuffle with a security guard, and many expressed outrage online. Not only should the MICHAEL star have celebrated his accomplishments in peace, but this caused discussions around the perception and treatment of Black celebrities no matter their status. Regardless, he recently called into The Big Tigger Show on Monday morning (February 5) to speak of the previous night’s awards ceremony, and he had a minimal comment on the controversy.

“We hit a speed bump, and then we head back to the party,” Killer Mike remarked. Of course, many fans think that he probably has more to say on the matter, but for whatever reason, might save it for another time. Also, there’s the possibility that the Atlanta lyricist plans on taking legal action or pursuing this more formally, so he might want to stay tight-lipped on the situation. Regardless of all that, the most heartening thing is to hear him be so happy, grateful, and proud concerning the Grammy wins and the strength of his craft.

Killer Mike Speaks On “Speed Bump” Arrest After His 2024 Grammys Wins: Listen

“Three Grammys. 20 years in the game. 48 years old,” Killer Mike expressed regarding his big wins. “Beat out everybody in the thing. He beat the best of the best, so all you could say is, he one of the best. The best album in the 50th year of hip-hop came from Atlanta, Georgia, from a man who will be 50 years old in three years.” For those unaware, he previously won a gramophone in 2003 for Best Rap Performance By a Duo or Group for his feature on Outkast’s “The Whole World,” and was nominated in 2018 for Best Rap Song thanks to Danger Mouse’s “Chase Me” with Run The Jewels and Big Boi.

Meanwhile, what do you think about this whole situation? What about what other people have said about it? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments section down below. Also, for more news and the latest updates on Killer Mike, stay logged into HNHH.

Killer Mike Believes He Has The Rap Album Of The Year

Killer Mike has had too amazing of a career for preoccupations of humility, and he knows how special his art is. Moreover, he recently spoke to HipHopDX at the ONE Music Fest about his new album MICHAEL and about how it’s the rap album of the year. Of course, the Grammys certainly agree to some extent, as they nominated the project for the Best Rap Album category alongside Her Loss, UTOPIA, King’s Disease 3, and HEROES & VILLAINS. However, the Dungeon Family MC saw past the competition and identified how his album is thematically unlike much of what we see in the genre today. That distinction is indicative of its introspection, quality of craft, and richness of perspective that he does a great job of conveying.

“If you’re a Black man and you heard MICHAEL, you’ve heard your own experience in this life,” Killer Mike expressed on Saturday (December 23). “It’s songs on there that talk about the love and solidarity of women, from your mother to your aunts to your wife. It’s songs on there that, for the first time, celebrate the junkie, and not the person that has them addicted.

MICHAEL Is The Rap Album Of The Year, Killer Mike Defends

Rap Album of the Year discussion starts at around the 5-minute mark.

“I don’t say that lightly, when I say, ‘album of the year,’” Killer Mike continued. “This album pushed the emotions of masculinity past where rap had prior. It acknowledges women– Black women– that evolved me in a different way. It acknowledges addiction in a radically different way. So when I say that, I don’t say that lightly. And I don’t say that to play. Because if I didn’t, I wouldn’t say it. If you’re a Black man, a working class man, or the women who love them, you should lay your ears on [MICHAEL].”

Mike Thanks HipHopDX

In addition, the Run The Jewels member also thanked HipHopDX for crowning the LP the Album of the Year. More than just boast about the project’s quality, it’s heartening to see him celebrate it with others as he should, and to see others celebrate his work in kind. Furthermore, with over twenty years in the game, Mike deserves nothing less. For more news and the latest updates on Killer Mike, check back in with HNHH.

Treach Discusses 2Pac’s Murder, Says Police Have Known The Killer For Years

Treach says that the Las Vegas Police Department has known the identity of 2Pac’s killer for years, despite only arresting Duane “Keefe D” Davis back in September, 25 years after the rapper’s infamous death. The Naughty By Nature artist discussed the case during a recent interview on Drink Champs.

“I think it’s a testament to if you’re a rapper they’re not gonna investigate it. Anything that was said was said by the perpetrator,” Treach said. “Whatever went on the system first knew a lot of this way before. Me, I’m just one, there’s two families on either side of life that’s destroyed. When anyone dies or the shooter, it’s n****s against n****s… Look at the f*cking world, everyone stands with each other.”

Treach continued: “Suge [Knight] said they wanted him to get on stand. We cut from different cloths. Nobody is ever going on the stand for shit. That ain’t supposed to stop police from doing their motherf*ckin’ job.” From there, he explained that police had all the evidence they needed. “Nah they been knowing. I’ve seen documentaries for decades. Many laying down, many details. If you got on tape in Vegas in a casino of an altercation between different gang factions, that’s a No. 1 suspect. It’s on camera for the cops and then the documentaries come out and say it and we over there like, ‘Duh.’ 20 years ago he would’ve got locked up and he’d be out now. And now you going in, so you never coming out. It’s our people that does it to our people.” Check out his full interview below.

Killer Mike Co-Signs OutKast Fan’s Recreation Of “ATLiens” Beat

Big Boi and André 3000 of OutKast are revered as two of the greatest MCs of all time, a take that’s cooler than a polar bear’s toenails at this point. The duo’s material still gets spins and love today, and a Dallas DJ named Menace recently showed appreciation in his own unique way. Moreover, he recreated the beat to the duo’s title track from their 1996 classic album ATLiens. Much to Menace’s surprise, none other than Killer Mike reached out to him and let him know that someone very special heard the recreation as well. Furthermore, Menace took to Twitter to express that Big Boi watching his recreation made his day.

“How fun is my life?” Menace began his appreciative message. “Earlier today I made a video recreating the “Atliens” beat with the original sample. Hours later I get a text from Killer Mike as he’s watching the video with f***ing BIG BOI in the studio!!!! Ha! Day made.” Big props to Menace for reaching the two hip-hop legends. Also, this adds to the lore surrounding Killer Mike’s next album MICHAEL.

Menace’s DJ Tribute To “ATLiens” Shouted Out By Killer Mike

Recently, the R.A.P. Music MC revealed the tracklist (with hidden features) and the album cover. However, something that got fans even more excited was the news that the album will reportedly feature Lil Wayne and André 3000 himself. While this news didn’t see official confirmation from the Run The Jewels member, it’s certainly not impossible. After all, Big Boi was also in the studio with him based on what Menace showed us, so is a reunion on the cards? Probably not, but a fan can dream. No matter who or what shows up on MICHAEL, we’re sure that it’ll be a fulfilling and triumphant return for the Dungeon Family alum.

Meanwhile, praise and influence continue to be two big factors on OutKast’s side. For example, Joe Budden recently labeled them the greatest rap group of all time, whereas T.I. believes they are the best Atlanta rappers ever. Whether it’s from fans or the industry, no all-time hip-hop rotation is complete without 3 Stacks and Sir Lucious Left Foot. Rick Ross & Killer Mike Get Some Laughs On “Dave”

Dave Burd, a.k.a. Lil Dicky, crafted one of the most successful hip-hop-adjacent shows of the moment with his series “Dave.” Now on tour with rapper GaTa, the show’s latest episode involves some hilarious cameos from Rick Ross and Killer Mike that have people quite impressed with their comedy skills. Moreover, the plot revolves around Dave and GaTa trying to get Rozay’s stolen chair back and handle potential Twitter beef with one half of Run The Jewels. Not only that, but Usher and Lil Gotit also make comical appearances throughout the episode. All in all, fans seem to agree that the comedic timing and chemistry in this episode was more than entertaining.

Of course, someone of Rick Ross’ charisma and personality makes for a glove-like fit on a show like “Dave.” One of his more recent and strange antics involved his buffalo that escaped from his ranch in Fayetteville, Georgia. While many expressed concern and even criticism, the Miami rapper dispelled all that with a series of funny, thankful, and reassuring clips. When you live that large, you’ve got to learn to not take yourself as seriously, and it’s clear that he has a lot of fun with it.

“Dave” Includes Hilarious Cameos In Atlanta Episode

Furthermore, Killer Mike is one of the faces of Atlanta, whether in music or larger society and politics. As such, it’s only fitting that a figure of his caliber appears in an episode centered around the city. What’s more is that Mike will make a return to music quite soon, although it was nice to see him expand his resumé on “Dave.” Fans are particularly excited because he teased features from Dave Chappelle, Lil Wayne, and the one and only André 3000.

Despite his incredible TV success, Dave (or Lil Dicky, in this case) said that he wants to return to the mic soon. He elaborated that he feels misrepresented by his earlier work, with leaned towards comedy with less warm reception than his television outing. Regardless, considering his career trajectory and growth, it should make for quite the interesting return. For the latest news on Killer Mike, Rick Ross, and Dave (or Lil Dicky), stick around on HNHH. Also, check out some reactions to Rozay and Mike on “Dave” down below.
