Taylor Swift Catches Heat For Ignoring Celine Dion While Accepting Album Of The Year At The Grammys

Taylor Swift was easily one of the biggest stars at the Grammys last night. Overall, it was a big night for her as she was nominated for a plethora of awards. In fact, one award that she was up for was Album of the Year. Her project Midnights was filled with hits and while not everyone is a fan, it certainly made its mark. In the end, the album proved to be a winner as Celine Dion came out and presented Swift with her fourth AOTY award. It was a huge moment, especially considering Dion’s recent struggles.

For those who may not know, the Quebecois legend has stiff-person syndrome. This is a terrible disease that can effect a person’s motor function. There were reports that Dion was having some real trouble with moving around. Consequently, many were surprised to see her at the Grammys. After the show, Swift got to take a picture with Dion and it was all very heartwarming. Unfortunately, it was Swift’s reaction to winning Album of the Year that had the internet coming after her.

Celine Dion Back On Stage

In the clip above, Swift took the Grammy and didn’t really acknowledge Celine’s presence. Nor did she mention the artist in her speech. This subsequently led to all sorts of tweets dissing T-Swift, and some of them can be found below. There was lots of talk about how Swift was “disrespectful” to a legend. However, some of her fans were quick to point out that she was just overwhelmed in the moment. Additionally, the photo she took with Celine afterward just showcases that she does, in fact, acknowledge the legendary singer.

Celine Dion Net Worth 2023: What Is The Music Icon Worth?

Born into a family more populated than a small orchestra, Céline Dion emerged from the quaint Quebec town of Charlemagne with vocal cords that seemed kissed by angels. The youngest of 14 siblings, Dion always had a larger-than-life dream, even when life was anything but. Equipped with a demo tape of her singing “Ce n’était qu’un rêve,” a song co-written with her mother and brother, Céline caught the ear of manager René Angélil. He was so taken that he mortgaged his home to finance her debut album. Thus began the journey of a 12-year-old that would swell into an $800 million net worth by 2023, according to CelebrityNetWorth.

The voyage from French chanteuse to international superstar wasn’t just a hop across the Atlantic. It was a seismic leap into iconicity. Her 1990 English-language debut album Unison spawned the top-10 hit “Where Does My Heart Beat Now.” Yet, the Titanic anthem “My Heart Will Go On” became synonymous with her name, winning her an Academy Award and a Grammy. This wasn’t just a song; it was a phenomenon. Further, her Vegas residencies, such as A New Day… and Céline, grossed a combined total of over $630 million, each show a cathedral to her talent.

A cabinet boasting five Grammy Awards, including two for the prestigious Album of the Year, stands as a monument to her musical ingenuity. Her accolades are a lexicon of almost every prestigious award that exists in the musical sphere. This ranges from Juno Awards to Golden Globes.

Céline’s voice wasn’t her only revenue stream. Her financial palette includes fragrances, which have reportedly grossed over $850 million in retail sales, along with a fashion line and various real estate holdings. Céline Dion has converted her vocal gold into material wealth, constructing an empire as intricate as her vocal runs in a world that treats fame like a perishable good.

Philanthropic Overtures: Singing For A Better Tomorrow

But what’s a diva without a heart? Céline’s philanthropy reverberates as powerfully as her vocals. A benefactor to numerous charitable organizations, including the Céline Dion Foundation, her resonance is felt far beyond concert halls and awards ceremonies. Whether it’s children’s hospitals or disaster relief, she’s proven that her vocals aren’t the only thing about her that can reach astonishing heights.

And so, the saga of Céline Dion continues—a tale as expansive as her vocal range and as enchanting as her presence. From a little town in Quebec to commanding an empire worth $800 million, she’s the diva who transcended divadom. No conclusion could ever contain her. She’s a melody that refuses to end.

Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” Gets Boost After Submersible Disaster

Celine Dion has gotten quite a boost in streams this week. This comes after the news of the Titan submersible accident. Celine Dion’s iconic contribution to the Titanic soundtrack has experienced a significant surge in streams. The song, titled “My Heart Will Go On,” has been a cultural staple since its release. However, it has not seen streaming numbers like this before. According to TMZ, the song has witnessed an increase of over 500,000 listens in just a few days.

Celine Dion is likely not exactly celebrating the news, however. Tragically, those on board the lost Titan submarine were reported to have lost their lives. The US Navy discovered acoustic data indicating a potential implosion or explosion. It happened near the area where the submersible was operating when communication was lost. Subsequent debris from the Titan confirmed the fate of those aboard. While it is not much of a comfort, it has been reported that those who perished will likely not have felt any pain. This is because the implosion would have been instantaneous.

Celine Dion’s Song Is A Heartbreaking Reminder Of Preventable Tragedies

Celine Dion has not commented on the tragedy. However, James Cameron, who directed Titanic, has. In light of the incident, the director has drawn parallels between the loss of the submersible and the infamous historical disaster. He remarked on the similarity of both incidents. He highlighted how the captain of the Titanic disregarded warnings about ice ahead. This ultimately led his ship into a fatal collision with an ice field on a moonless night. James Cameron has visited the Titanic site more than 30 times. This means that, whatever the cause of the Titan disaster, it was likely preventable.

Even though Celine Dion has not commented on the song’s resurgence in light of the news, her emotional ballad continues to resonate with listeners. It serves as a poignant reminder of the Titanic’s legacy. Unfortunately, it sounds like the tragedy of the newly lost submersible was also very much avoidable. What do you think of the resurgence in popularity for “My Heart Will Go On”? Be sure to sound off in the comments and let us know! Stay tuned to HNHH for the latest updates.

Why Are Celine Dion Fans Mad At ‘Rolling Stone?’

It doesn’t seem like Celine Dion fans are letting their hearts go on after Rolling Stone‘s controversial list of “200 Greatest Singers Of All Time.” Yesterday, fans protested outside of the Rolling Stone office, blasting some of her biggest hits.

Why Are Celine Dion Fans Mad At Rolling Stone?

On New Year’s Day, Rolling Stone published a list of their rankings of the 200 greatest singers of all time. As fans and stans were bound to take to their Twitter and TikTok timelines to argue about where their faves ranked, many fans were upset that Dion was completely left out of the list.

Anticipating that the list would be polarizing, Rolling Stone issued a statement on social media, saying, “Before you start scrolling (and commenting), keep in mind that this is the Greatest Singers list, not the Greatest Voices List. Talent is impressive; genius is transcendent.”

A fan quickly responded, saying, “because céline dion singing in 9 languages, having sung diverse genres, and reinventing herself in every album isn’t ‘genius,’ right?”

Another fan wouldn’t even bother to look at the list, due to the omission.

“Any music list for best singers ever that doesn’t include Céline Dion is automatically invalid to me,” said the fan. “That’s the rule. ‘Falling Into You’ was the first CD I ever bought with my own money, and that album is still flawless, and her entire discography is superb.”

Even some of her peers in the industry have vocalized their chagrin toward Rolling Stone.

“One more reason these stupid ass lists don’t mean sh*t,” said songwriter Diane Warren, who co-wrote “Because You Loved Me,” one of Dion’s biggest hits. “Really??? A list of greatest singers @RollingStone and #CelineDion isn’t on it??”

Needless to say, it doesn’t look like Rolling Stone is getting out of this one anytime soon.

Celine Dione Fans Protest Rolling Stone HQ For “200 Greatest Singers” List Snub

Popular music magazine Rolling Stone released their list of the “200 Greatest Singers of All Time” on New Year’s Day. And it quickly sent social media into a frenzy.

With fans debating whether the outlet got it right, many Celine Dione supporters were offended that the Canadian singer was nowhere to be found on the list.

According to TMZ, her fans took their frustration to Rolling Stone’s headquarters on Friday and protested the snub with picket signs in hand.

Singing outside the building and shouting “Rolling Stone is stoned,” Dione’s fans were eventually met with Steven Pearl, who works at the magazine as an editor. He went on to hear them out and also explained the creative process behind the list.

Featuring singers Tina Turner, Minnie Riperton, Aaliyah, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, and more, the list received its fair share of backlash since dropping online earlier this week.

Dragging the magazine for not including the “My Heart Will Go On” singer, one user later wrote in defense of Dione on Twitter, “What do you mean Celine [Dione] is not on the rolling stone list???”

“Rolling Stone omitting the Céline Dion from its list of the greatest singers of all time is a crime against humanity,” another fan tweeted.

Further questioning the list, a user also penned on Twitter, “Rihanna should not even be on that Rolling Stones list of Greatest Singers. But for her to also be ahead of Michael Jackson, Usher, Anita Baker, and Patti Labelle… then Celine Dion is not even on the list? I would like criminal charges brought against the entire company.”

Another added, “Oh so the rolling stone’s released an all time greatest singers list? Anyway here’s Celine [Dione] absolutely knocking out a key change while singing all by myself.”

Celine Dion Details Rare Condition, Stiff-Person Syndrome

In an emotional, transparent video shared on Instagram, Celine Dion reveals health issues that caused her to amend her world tour. The music icon has been a global sensation for decades as her classic hits are considered a soundtrack to an era of music history. It has been argued that she is one of the greatest vocalists of her generation, if not beyond, but she revealed she has quietly batted Stiff Person Syndrome.

“The spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to,” Dion said. “I have to admit it’s been a struggle. All I know is singing, it’s what I’ve done all my life.”

According to reports, Stiff Person Syndrome is a rare neurological disease that causes painful spasms and increasing muscle stiffness. This can be triggered by various factors, including changes in temperature or weather, as well as loud noises.

“I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time,” said the “My Heart Will Go On” hitmaker. “And it’s also been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through…It hurts me to tell you that I won’t be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February.”

Additionally, only one in one million people are diagnosed with the disease.

Sadly, Dion’s condition has caused her to postpone the European leg of her world tour until 2024. Several dates have been canceled indefinitely.

“I have a great team of doctors working alongside me to help me get better,” she also said. “I’m working with my sports medicine therapist every day to build back my strength and my ability to perform again.”

In 2021, Dion reportedly suffered spasms while rehearsing for her anticipated Las Vegas residency. In the end, it was canceled altogether.
