Tank Dell Wounded In Nightclub Mass Shooting

Tank Dell suffered a “minor wound” during a shooting in Sanford, Florida at Cabana Live early Sunday morning. The Houston Texans confirmed later in the day that the star wide receiver was shot by a teenage gunman who opened fire after an altercation. The shooter wounded 10 people during the incident. Dell made it out okay and has since left the hospital and is traveling back to Houston.

“[Dell] has been released from the hospital and he is in good spirits,” the Texans said in a statement on social media. “We are in contact with him and his family and will provide more updates when appropriate but ask that you please respect his privacy at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in the incident.” No one in the shooting sustained life-threatening injuries.

Police have reportedly arrested a 16-year-old suspect whom they’ve taken to a juvenile detention center. They’re charging him with attempted homicide, firing a weapon in a public place, using a firearm during a felony, and illegal possession of a firearm by a minor.

Houston Texans Confirm Tank Dell Shooting

The Texans expect him to make a full recovery for next season. Be on the lookout for further updates on Tank Dell on HotNewHipHop.

ASAP Twelvyy Is Focused On New Single “Checkpoint Charlie”

Earlier this month, ASAP Twelvyy unleashed his first solo single of the year, “Checkpoint Charlie.” The NYC-born performer’s focused flow shines through on the laid-back track, which samples Metro Boomin and Coi Leray’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse soundtrack cut, “Self Love.” Twelvyy’s latest release sees him rhyme about making music, touring, and chasing his dreams.

ASAP Twelvyy’s new song follows the December 2023 release of Kid$ Gotta Eat (Deluxe), which boasts features from Rome Streetz, ASAP Nast, ASAP Ant, and more. The deluxe edition of the album provided fans with an additional five new tracks that weren’t on the original, which he unveiled in July of last year.

Metro Boomin Trolled By Drake Fans At Recent Concert: “I Heard That!”

A fan of Drake trolled Metro Boomin by shouting some of the lyrics to the Toronto rapper’s diss track,
“Push Ups,” at one of the producer’s recent concerts. In a clip circulating on social media, an attendee to the show shouts out, “Metro, shut your ho ass up and play some drums.” In response, Metro remarks, “I heard that,” prompting celebration from the fan.

When Kurrco shared the clip on Twitter, many users found the move to be corny. “Goes from hating to celebrating like a child,” one fan wrote. Another added: “Grown man was jumping up and down and giggling after shouting.” Others praised Metro for having some fun with the moment.

Metro started feuding with Drake by releasing the track, “Like That,” on which Kendrick Lamar targets his former collaborator. Additionally, he platformed several artists who used their verses to diss Drake on his recent collaborations with Future, We Don’t Trust You, and We Still Don’t Trust You. They include The Weeknd, ASAP Rocky, and more. Drake responded with “Push Ups,” earlier this month, and followed that up with the A.I.-assisted “Taylor Made Freestyle.” Kendrick Lamar has still yet to fire back in their ongoing feud. Check out the fan’s attempt to troll Metro Boomin below.

Drake Fans Troll Metro Boomin

Metro Boomin and Future will be embarking on a joint tour over the summer in celebration of their recent albums. After they announced the move, Drake’s fans trolled them on social media for selling significantly fewer tickets than the It’s All A Blur tour. Adekunle Gold Lets The Lust Out On New Single “Rodo”: Stream

Adekunle Gold is not slowing down anytime soon, and he’s got another track to heat the summer up even more with his new single, “Rodo.” Moreover, it’s yet another Afrobeat-style cut with watery chords, nimble percussion, a lot of vocal and flow dexterity, and some lustful and romantic themes that might spur you to invite someone to the dance floor. His run continues following other great tracks this year like “The Life I Chose” and the Kodak Black and Doja Cat collab for The Book Of Clarence‘s soundtrack, “JEEZU.” Lyrically, the Nigerian artist is as blunt and charismatic as ever, and he also engages with a few different vocal deliveries, flows, melodies, and other elements to make his performance all the more dynamic.

Furthermore, a big part of this dynamism is also due to very, very subtle additions throughout to the main core of the song, such as a quiet horn lick here and there or some extra keys to spice up a particular line on the verse or bridge. Adekunle Gold coasts through all this quite well, although “Rodo” definitely benefits from an approach of stasis and mood-setting rather than a super fleshed-out or evolutionary song structure. Sure, there are beat drop-outs and parts in which the hand percussion has a bit more emphasis, but for the most part, you’re just happy to stay in that vibe. Also, it makes sense given the simple but very effective principles of previous cuts, such as the Bas collab “Khartoum.”

Meanwhile, the “Room” star will probably have a bit more to offer fans for the summer season, and if they’re as wavy and fun as “Rodo,” then Adekunle Gold has plenty to eat off of this year. Foggieraw Taps Ari Lennox For Passionate New Single “Stay Awhile”

Last week, Foggieraw unveiled his new collaborative single with Ari Lennox, “Stay Awhile.” The mellow track arrived alongside a cinematic self-directed music video, which shows the two hitmakers in love. Witty, insightful rhymes meet dreamy vocals in “Stay Awhile,” which touches on themes of faith, falling for someone, and more. So far, fans can’t get enough.

As commenters rave about the Brown Sugar-inspired collab, they’ve even started to speculate that there’s some real romance between Lennox and Foggieraw, though this may be nothing but wishful thinking. Either way, it’s clear that their emotional performance was convincing, and viewers are here for it.

The collab follows Foggieraw’s single “Destiny,” which he unveiled in January of this year. As for Lennox, the new single isn’t her only exciting recent collaboration. Earlier this month, she also appeared on J. Cole’s surprise release album Might Delete Later. They were also joined by Gucci Mane and Young Dro. “Stay Awhile” has fans anxious to hear another collab from the duo, and hoping for a full-length Foggieraw project sometime soon. “The alliteration is SICKENINGGG in this song! & his storytelling is top tier! Whew, Foggie is beyond talented,” one fan writes. “Give everybody raises because everybody understood the assignment!!” another says.

What do you think of Foggieraw’s new song with Ari Lennox? Will you be adding “Stay Awhile” to your spring playlist or not? Do you think the two of them should do more songs together in the future? Are you hoping for a full-length project sometime soon? Share all of your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Tommy Richman Becomes A “MILLION DOLLAR BABY” On New Single: Stream

Tommy Richman is on the cusp of an absolute blow-up, and one of the leading factors behind that is his brand-new single, “MILLION DOLLAR BABY.” Moreover, it’s a very creative blend of classic Southern trap stylings and more light and poppy vocal performances and melodic leads. In the case of this particular track, it comments on the slow but steady build-up that the DMV native has experienced over the past few years, which finally seem to have gotten to a boiling point. We’ve previously covered the dual single release of “SOULCRUSHER” and “WHAT DO U LIKE,” plus his appearance on Brent Faiyaz’s recent album, Larger Than Life.

Furthermore, Tommy Richman seems poised to keep expanding on this unique style, and will surely find new ways to tinker with it, capitalize on its best elements, and continue to expand outside of it. We don’t want to put him in a box, but this is definitely a wave that he could ride with ease given the catchy, loose, and above all fun feeling that “MILLION DOLLAR BABY” will give you. Thanks to some occasional and subtle cowbell hits, the sharp snares and hi-hats, and the funky bass patterns, this song is able to make something sound pretty hard and quite sophisticated at the same time. It’s an odd mix that ultimately works to its cheeky benefit, especially with added wailing synths, a very simple lead melody, high-pitched vocals, and background vocal samples.

Did Kendrick Lamar Just Release A New Album Through pgLang?

With the lingering effects of his “Like That” verse aimed at longtime frenemy Drake and J. Cole, still causing havoc in rap, fans are wondering where is Kendrick Lamar. While J. Cole has apologized for his response diss (“7 Minute Drill“) and ultimately removed it from streaming services, Drake hasn’t waived the white flag just yet.

Lamar’s subsequent silence has supporters intrigued. But all this time, the Grammy Award-winner musician might’ve been in the recording booth creating a new body of work, according to a viral rumor online.

So, Did Kendrick Lamar Just Release A New Album Through pgLang?

If you were waiting for Lamar’s follow-up to 2022’s Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, you aren’t in luck. Today (April 28), an anonymous report began to circulate across X (formerly Twitter) that Lamar used his creative company, pgLang, to drop his new project.

Users online claimed to have found a leaked file of Lamar’s new album. Quickly after the post went live, others began to repost the link to the unauthorized project.

However, with a few hours, supporters of Lamar debunked the viral claim. One user even traced back the source of the rumor to one Reddit user.

“I compiled my favorite Kendrick leaks to try and create a conceptual and cohesive playlist,” they wrote.

AI may have a hard time copying Lamar, but fans don’t seem to have any difficulty locating his unreleased music.

PARTYNEXTDOOR Is “4” The Fans On Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update: Stream

HNHH‘s R&B Season playlist is back to round up the best releases from the various styles adjacent to the genre that came out this week, and there’s a big one to speak on right away. Moreover, PARTYNEXTDOOR finally delivered on all the hype and dropped his long-awaited fourth studio album PARTYNEXTDOOR 4 (P4). Not only does the Toronto artist deliver plenty of his trademark style on this full-length, but he also taps into sounds that he’s not immediately associated with, such as the breezy African-inspired rhythms on “F o r C e r t a i n.” If you want that classic PND sound, though, look no further than cuts like “N o C h i l l,” and you’ll be right back in that zone again.

Elsewhere on R&B Season, we have another sultry and minimal single from Normani titled “1:59,” and it features none other than Gunna for a pretty interesting crossover. Through some simple guitar licks, building vocal harmonies, stark percussion, and atmospheric effects, it’s able to keep things woozy while still having a solid melodic center. As for the College Park MC, his voice actually goes even harder than his collaborator on this cut when it comes to the passion and the strain in his voice. It’s a nice zone to see him in, especially for those looking for him to at least try to switch it up.

HNHH R&B Season Playlist: Stream

However, if you’re looking for more of that Afro-soul sound, there’s another highlight on R&B Season this week. Tems came through with an interpolation of Seyi Sodimu’s 1997 classic “Love Me JeJe,” which is as wondrous and welcoming as it is loosely chilled-out. Across much of the Nigerian singer’s catalog, a lot of her strengths owe themselves to her strong vocal chops, charismatic performances, and her ability to build out a tune. Needless to say, these are all elements that keep on giving.

Finally, we wanted to shout out the tender, bubbly, and crisp collab between Chenayder and MAVI, “Colors.” This is easily among the jazziest and most head-bobbing picks this week thanks to a warm vocal performance from the former and a killer verse from the latter. Let us know what your favorite R&B Season cut was this week, as well as what else we missed, down in the comments below. Fans Are Raving About Post Malone’s Stagecoach 2024 Set And Hope That Country Music Is His Final Frontier

Country music fans don’t quite have a reputation for being the most welcoming. However, this year’s Stagecoach (the genre’s largest festival) debunked that myth featuring an abundance of genre newbies and outside sounds.

Since the lineup for Stagecoach 2024 was announced, ticketholders were interested to see what Post Malone would bring to the main stage. Many hoped that he’d bring out his “Levii’s Jeans” collaborator, Beyoncé, for a surprise performance. Although that didn’t happen, yesterday (April 27), Post’s set still managed to win viewers over.

Joined by Dwight Yoakam, Brad Paisley, and Sara Evans, users at home are gung ho about Post moving full steam ahead with his venture into country. Across X (formerly Twitter), viewers flooded the platform to praise Post’s performance.

“If Post Malone takes these country covers on the road, take all of my money. That was badass,” wrote one user.

“I could have watched Post Malone play for hours,” penned another.

“Just saw Post Malone’s Stagecoach set was all 90s/2000s country. I will never recover from this 😭,” wrote another.

Paisley also took to his official page to share a kind note to his creative companion. “You belong here Posty 🤠,” he wrote.

Rico Wade Had Reflected On Dungeon Family Bonds Weeks Before Passing: Details

Many members of the Dungeon Family reunited in Atlanta on Friday (April 26) for a private memorial due to the loss of one of its pillars: Rico Wade. Moreover, his mother’s basement was the “dungeon” that Outkast, Killer Mike, Future, and many more called their home, whether literally or figuratively. While the Organized Noize producer was not the most famous person in the world, his final public remarks, particularly ones from an AllHipHop interview about his Dungeon Family partners, have taken on a more meaningful, saddening, but still beautiful luster after his passing. They went through a lot of bumps as folks in the industry, and even through his health struggles and alcoholism, they always came back together to let their love, support, and gratitude be crystal clear.

“I just had heart surgery, where they had to put a stent in my chest,” Rico Wade told the publication in an interview from the day after he went to an André 3000 concert. “This happened January 19 and I just felt like, ‘Man, I would have missed it [the concert].’ God didn’t want my life. He wanted my attention and he got it. It’s been blessings on blessings on blessings since then. Since that moment, I’ve been blessed in every way. It’s hard to not cry every time I think about it.

Rico Wade, Killer Mike & Big Boi In Atlanta

“They all love and respect me,” Rico Wade remarked about the support he got from the Dungeon Family amid his health scare. “They all look at me as a person that did it for them, especially after what I just went through. I’ve spoken to every last one of them, and it’s been like, ‘I want to hug you and I want to let you know how important you are to us. I’m glad you’re still here.’ I hate for it to take a life-altering situation, but even Future, that’s my cousin, he’s been so busy. But if I text him now, he texts me right back. I seen André last night at the show, and I was in the studio the other day seeing [Big] Boi. Everybody can see that I’m clear and clean. They can see that I ain’t drinking and they can see my energy…

“What’s crazy about that is that Killer Mike is one of the most articulate, intelligent people I know,” he said of Mike’s Grammy wins and his brief arrest at the ceremony. “So sometimes -– not purposely ’cause I wouldn’t say it was a conspiracy. But they were waiting for him or whatever, like, because of something that happened at the Staples Center or whatever. Since then, the city has been so supportive. Other news outlets have been so supportive of giving him that platform to let him speak because not only did he sweep the Grammys, his album is really good. The song with André and Future won Song of the Year. So it’s like, I’m happy that I’m here.” For more news and updates on the Dungeon Family and its fallen legend, check back in with HNHH.
Rest In Peace Rico Wade.
