Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Support For Ukraine Continued In Kalush Orchestra’s ‘Shchedryi Vechir’ Video

Shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine last February, Arnold Schwarzenegger posted a nine-minute video to “reach my dear Russian friends” and educate them on “terrible things you should know about.” The Austrian action-movie icon and former California governor relayed what his Nazi father had experienced during World War II as a cautionary tale. Predictably, Russian state TV did not like it. But, Schwarzenegger won’t be silenced as the war in Ukraine rages on.

Ukrainian rap group Kalush Orchestra shared the video for their single “Shchedryi Vechir” on Wednesday, January 11, and it begins with a voiceover from Schwarzenegger: “And that is a great message for all Ukrainian people, especially now in this very, very difficult time. That everyone can have a dream, and you can make this dream become a reality.”

Kalush Orchestra’s YouTube description of the video further contextualizes, “Yo, when we were in the US on tour, we shot a video for one of our songs. We didn’t even think that it would be such a cool video. We used to run through these streets in the game [Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas], and now we made our own interpretation of Shchedrivka there, + visited Arnold Schwarzenegger.”

The end of the video features a cameo from Schwarzenegger simply saying the song’s title, which translates to “Generous Evening.”

Kalush Orchestra has contributed significantly to their home country during this horrific time, according to their Instagram post from December 30.

The group summarized a “very productive” 2022, which included raising 60 million in Ukrainian hryvnia and spreading Ukrainian music across “half the world.”

Ice Spice Responds To Snippet Of New Song Leaking Online

Ice Spice is undeniably one of the hottest names in the game right now. Ever since the arrival of her viral single, “Munch (Feelin’ U)” last August, she’s demanded everyone’s attention through her catchy songs and charisma.

Unfortunately, she’s no stranger to her music leaking on the internet though.

On Tuesday (January 10), a snippet of one of her unreleased songs began circulating on social media. The track is allegedly a collaboration with fellow Bronx rapper, Lil Tjay.

However, the 23-year-old caught wind of the unauthorized leak. Taking to her own Twitter account, she expresses her feelings about it. “stop leaking my sh*t lmfaooo this a bop tho,” she says in a quote tweet of the since-deleted snippet.

Since the aforementioned “Munch (Feelin’ U),” the Bronx native has dropped two other highly successful singles. The first of which is yet another viral hit in “Bikini Bottom,” arriving in October last year. The SpongeBob-inspired track continues to be popular on TikTok. Her most recent and her first release of 2023, is “In Ha Mood.”

Additionally, she also appears on one of Maryland rapper B-Lovee‘s singles from last year, “One Time.” J.I the Prince of N.Y and Skillibeng feature on the posse cut as well.

Ice Spice has yet to release her debut project. However, it seems as though she’s gearing up to release a six-song EP sometime soon.

“I’m about to put out an EP. It’s about to be, like, six songs. Bikini Bottom’s on there, and then there’s some that people haven’t heard. It’s gonna be a vibe. Visuals coming with it too,” she says while appearing on the Rap Caviar podcast in November.

It will certainly be interesting to hear her first project. Hopefully it arrives in the near future.

Bad Bunny Goes Private On IG Following Phone-Throwing Controversy

Bad Bunny is undeniably one of the biggest artists on the planet. He effortlessly topped Apple Music’s year-end charts last year, alongside Justin Bieber and The Kid LAROI.

His surprise-released album, 2022’s Un Verano Sin Ti, effectively catapulted him to new heights in his success and popularity around the world. Furthermore, the city of Los Angeles even honored him with his own day in October.

However, the 28-year-old has recently been wrapped up in some controversy. It all began when a video started surfacing on social media of the “Me Porto Bonito” artist walking around in the Dominican Republic. The footage shows him seemingly having a good time with some fans and taking pictures with them. However, he grabs one girl’s phone from her hand and aggressively throws it away.

Of course, he has since responded to his controversial action. “The person who comes up to me to say hello, to tell me something, or just to meet me, will always receive my attention and respect. Those who come to put a phone in my face, I will consider it for what it is, a lack of respect and I will treat it like one,” writes the superstar in his translated tweet.

On Monday (January 9), the Puerto Rico native took to his Twitter account to share a mysterious message. His bio now reads, “me van a extrañar,” which directly translates to “they will miss me” in English. Although the Twitter account is still public, he has changed his Instagram account to be on private mode.

It certainly seems as though some fans agree with his actions, while others are arguing it was unnecessary. Regardless of your thoughts, it’s certainly causing lots of conversations online.

‘Colbert’ Made Perfect Use Of DJ Khaled Clips To Recap Kevin McCarthy’s Drawn-Out Bid To Become Speaker Of The House

Over the weekend, Kevin McCarthy was elected Speaker Of The House. It took four days and 15 votes to get here, but here we are. Now the late-night shows have gotten a hold of the news and run with it on their Monday (January 9) episodes, including The Late Show. Steven Colbert’s staff’s take on the situation made use of some choice DJ Khaled clips.

The brief segment is introduced, “And now, a summary of Kevin McCarthy’s bid to become Speaker Of The House, featuring DJ Khaled.” From there, a Khaled-style instrumental played under news clips about the McCarthy proceedings, and as the various anchors share news of each subsequent vote, a Khaled clips interjects with one of the producer’s classic catchphrases: “Another one.” The video ends with an anchor noting, “The concessions to the right that led to his victory could leave him the weakest Speaker in modern history.” To that, clip Khaled responded, “Congratulations: you played yourself.”

As for what Khaled has been up to lately, he was recently pretty happy after buying Eminem’s Nike Air Jordan 4 “Encore” sneakers. Meanwhile, looking forward, he’s one of the most-nominated hip-hop artists at the upcoming 2023 Grammy Awards.

The Weeknd’s Six-Year-Old Song ‘Die For You’ Has Cracked The Hot 100 Top 10 For The First Time Thanks In Part To TikTok

Over the weekend, The Weeknd commemorated one year of Dawn FM with a video for “Is There Someone Else?.” Coupled with the video’s release was this tweet: “I wonder… Did you know you’re experiencing a new trilogy?” Before we walk with The Weeknd into an enticing future, there’s reason to revisit his past.

Billboard revealed its newest Hot 100 chart (dated January 14) today, January 9. It’s unsurprisingly that Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero” has returned to No. 1 for a seventh total week after debuting there in late October, but it is surprising to see The Weeknd’s 2016 Starboy hit “Die For You” at No. 8 — which is now his 16th top-10 single on the chart.

“The Weeknd’s ‘Die for You’ vaults 26 to 8 on the Hot 100, led by 67.3 million in airplay audience (up 3%) and 9.9 million streams (up 10%),” the publication additionally relayed. “The song hits the Hot 100’s top 10 over six years after its original release on The Weeknd’s album Starboy, sparked by interaction on TikTok (which does not presently contribute to Billboard‘s charts). That buzz helped lead to the song’s airplay promotion and prominence, as the track holds at its No. 4 Radio Songs high.”

The Weeknd owns six career No. 1 Hot 100 singles, including the record-breaking “Blinding Lights” and “Starboy” (the latter featuring Daft Punk). Fellow Starboy track “I Feel It Coming” (also featuring Daft Punk) peaked at No. 4 on the chart.

“Die For You” isn’t the only The Weeknd song in this week’s Hot 100 top 10, either. His collaborative track “Creepin’” with Metro Boomin and 21 Savage, off of Metro Boomin’s December No. 1 album Heroes & Villains, sits at No. 6. It peaked at No. 5 last month.

North West And Kim Kardashian Danced To Kanye Archenemy Taylor Swift’s Biggest Hit On The TikTok He Hates Them Having

Kanye West is gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate this. Nearly a year ago, Ye proclaimed that Kim Kardashian, his ex-wife, and North West, their nine-year-old daughter, have a joint TikTok account “against my will.” Kardashian more recently opened up about the presumably impossible task of co-parenting with Ye, calling it “really f*cking hard,” so she deserves to dance on TikTok with her daughter.

But it’s not just that Kardashian and North posted another harmless TikTok for their 12.1 million followers. This time, they’re dancing to “Shake It Off” by noted Ye nemesis Taylor Swift, from the infamous 2009 VMAs interruption to the leaked call about Ye’s “Famous” that played some role in fueling Swift’s 2017 Reputation era.

In the 55-second video, Kardashian and North perform a choreographed dance and lip-sync of “Shake It Off,” wearing matching white outfits in an all-white room.

Last month, a five-year lawsuit against Swift over “Shake It Off” was dismissed after an agreement was reached between Swift and the songwriters alleging copyright infringement (as reported by Billboard). Swifties immediately started speculating over whether that was the final roadblock Swift needed to clear before re-recording 1989, the 2014 album that marked her official transformation into full-blown pop star.

Since the release of Swift’s record-breaking October album Midnights, however, all signs point toward Speak Now as the next album to get the “Taylor’s Version” treatment.

Lizzo Attempts To Set Yung Gravy Up With Her Mom

26-year-old Yung Gravy has never been one to shy away from his natural inclination towards MILFs. In fact, the rapper made serious waves earlier this year after walking down a red carpet alongside Addison Rae’s mother. That “romance” fizzled out fast. However, the Minnesota native has had plenty of eye candy to keep him busy as of late.

If you use TikTok, you may have seen the ongoing “turning my mom into me trend” that began just before the holidays. Users have been recording their moms strutting their stuff in their usual attire before giving them an off-camera makeover to resemble themselves. For anyone with a fetish like Gravy’s, it’s been undeniably entertaining to watch.

Of course, many ordinary people are participating and subsequently going viral, but some celebrities have even begun hopping on the trend too. Among them is Lizzo, who decked her madre out in a bold Yitty look.

“Yung Gravy [eyes emojis],” the Special hitmaker wrote in the caption of her post. “Before y’all ask issa @yitty onesie.” As her daughter begins recording, we see the older woman smiling as she walks around the Christmas tree in a Champion tee and sweatpants.

For her second look, Lizzo and her mom opted to stick with comfortable vibes, styling her in a red one-piece outfit that’s perfect for the holiday season. In the comment sections, fans were quick to gas her up. “Love [your] mom’s attitude hahah,” one user wrote. Another added, “Y’all are twins… Beautiful mother, beautiful daughter.”

Yung Gravy hasn’t made his way to the video just yet, though he has been replying to several other iterations of the trend. As Uproxx notes, he’s also previously expressed interest in getting intimate with the “About Damn Time” hitmaker herself.

In April of 2021, he tweeted, “I wanna f*ck @Lizzo so bad.” When a troll wrote back, “I hope you got hacked,” he quickly let them know his message was no mistake. “Hell nah, I’m not hacked? Duster. Lizzo bad af.”

Roc Nation Trends On Twitter As Users Poke Fun At Tory Lanez’s Dad

The two weeks during which Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion’s trial took place earlier this week were undeniably tense. Since then, however, the internet has blown up with memes reacting to some of the more comedic moments that took place throughout the case.

Most recently, it’s been the artist’s father, Sonstar Peterson, who is being markedly ridiculed online. Specifically, Twitter users are having a field day with his condemnation of Roc Nation following his son’s guilty verdict.

“I just stood here and witnessed the worst miscarriage of justice that this world has ever seen. You want to know how I feel, I’ll tell you exactly how I feel,” he ranted after being removed from the courthouse last week.

Sonstar obviously thinks that Megan’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, and Roc Nation’s COO, Desiree Perez, are to blame for Lanez’s prosecution. Additionally, he cast blame on “the whole wicked system of Roc Nation, including you, Jay-Z.”

“You who say you rose from the gutter, but you have traded and bartered the souls of young men, and you’re still doing it,” Peterson continued targeting Hov.

Aside from his father’s reaction, the “Say It” hitmaker also has countless fans still in his corner. Many of them have accordingly signed a petition requesting Lanez be released. However, it’s unlikely that will be entertained before his January 27th sentencing.

Thee Stallion herself comparatively has yet to comment on the situation. Still, Twitter users are keeping the verdict in the vernacular by blaming Roc Nation for some of their own problems, in the same style as Sonstar.

“Roc Nation can’t keep getting away with this,” one person previously replied to a post reading, “The fact that it’s 10 degrees in every state don’t seem strange to y’all?”

Another chimed in, “Half the people who work for Roc Nation can’t even get into the Roc Nation brunch but sure they have control over LA superior court.”

In other news, we recently revealed what Tory Lanez got to eat for Christmas dinner while behind bars. Read more about that here, and afterwards, check out more funny tweets below.

Lizzo Played Matchmaker For Her Mother And Mom Appreciator Yung Gravy In TikTok’s Latest Video Trend

Rap/pop superstar Lizzo (real name Melissa Jefferson) may forget the name of a fan, but she never forgets a tweet. She once turned a tweet from her friend Cardi B into a song, for instance. Now, she’s using the old tweets from a fellow musician to form a potential love connection.

Back in April of last year, Yung Gravy let the world know he wanted to explore a love connection with Lizzo, writing, “I wanna f*ck Lizzo so bad.”

Ensuring he was not hacked, the rapper followed up his initial tweet with, “Hell nah. I’m not hacked. Duster. Lizzo bad as f*ck.”

The “About Damn Time” singer used rapper Yung Gravy’s past public declaration to jump onto “The Mom Trend” on TikTok. The trend calls for users to show their mother’s personal style, then cut to their mother dressed in their child’s clothing. While at home with her mother, Shari Johnson-Jefferson, Lizzo uploaded the video with the caption, “Yung gravy [eyes emojis].”

Dressed in her daughter’s Yitty line red bodysuit, commenters immediately shared how the pair were nearly twins. The Emmy Award winner may be off the dating market, but she has no problem finding love for her mother.

Yung Gravy has shared his love of the trend as he has been open about pursuing older women, notably when he and Addison Rae’s mom Sheri Easterling had something going on earlier this year. However, he hasn’t responded to Lizzo’s video yet.
